Setting my DDR3 1600 Memory to run at 1600 speed on Z68A-GD65 G3 Motherboard.

Wasn't sure to post this here, or on the "Intel Core-iX boards" section, but I'm having trouble getting my DDR3 1600 ram to run at 1600 speeds on my Z68A-GD65 G3 motherboard, it's currently running at DDR3-1333 even tho I have it set to DDR3-1600 under "Dram Frequency" in the bios. I also have XMP enabled, and running the memory at 1.5V. The memory I have is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233186 and I'm using the latest beta bios E7681IMS.N37.
This is my first MSI motherboard (was a die hard ASUS fan), and I'm loving it so far, but I just can't seem to get my rams speed setup correctly. It's probably something simple I'm overlooking, or it's just not being reported correctly, but any help on what settings to change would be greatly appreciated.

  • Overclocking issue with a Z68A-G43 MB and 4*2 GB DDR3 Gskill memory kits

    Hi,
    On my old MB, I overclocked my I5 2500k CPU to 4.2 Ghz , It was running with 4*2GB DDR3 modules and everything was stable since several months.
    I use the same components on my new Z68A-G43 MB but I don't manage to start my PC in the same conditions.
    The PC runs well in normal mode (not OC ) with the 4x2GB DDR3 modules
    The PC runs well when overclocked to 4.2 Ghz (and it is very stable) with 2*2 GB GSkill DDR3 (1600 MHz CAS 7, reference - F3-12800CL7 2GBECO) modules placed in DIMM 1 & 3
    But, when overclocked, the PC refuses to boot with 4*2GB DDR3 modules, after adding 2x2 GB GSkill DDR3 (1600 MHz CAS 8 , F3- reference - 12800CL8 2GBRM ) modules placed in DIMM 2 & 4
    Same problem with 2x2 GB KINGSTON DDR3 (1600 MHz CAS 9, reference 99005403 - 125.A01LF ) modules placed in DIMM 2 & 4
    I tried the most of the recommended settings in the overclocking forum: OC genie enabled or not , XMP enabled or not , timings manually set according to information given by CPUZ , decreasing the frequency of the DDR3 to 1333 Mhz...
    In summary, my PC refuses to boot due to a memory issue (3 beeps at launch) when I put 4*2GB of DDR3 with a 4.2 Ghz OC (whereas it was running fine for months on my old motherboard P67A- GD65 ).
    The PC runs fine with 4*2GB of DDR3 without OC or with only 2*2GB of DDR3 with a 4.2 Ghz OC.
    Do you have any idea how to solve this problem ?
    thank you for your advice

    Yes. Get a factory matched and tested together RAM kit. Corsair work well on this series mainboard. That or try to increase the DRAM V. to 1.65v's, loosen the timings for all sticks to 9 9 9 24, CR 2. Good luck!

  • Any input on stabilizing 920@3.8/1600 memory??

    Hey all, like the title says, any hints on stabilizing this clock on a X58 Platinum board??  I have a 1000 watt ps, cusotm watercooling, (proc, IOH), runnin 12gb of Gskill 1600 memory.
    Current Volts:
    Multi=19
    CPU=+.230
    QPI=+.230
    PLL= 1.85
    Ram=1.65
    Ram timings 8-8-8-21
    Is messin with the skews gonna help matters??  I know it made a difference on the X38/48....
    (This combo is fine when i set the mem to 1200, but at 1600, it hard locks on the everest level 3 cache test.)
    ~Screwtech

    I do wonder why this board wont run the mem @1600, even with a stock clock of 133.  Used the XMS mem profiles, set everything to stock settings, cept vmem, set that to 1.63.  Upon reboot, get the 3 beep memory deal. Is the 12gb taxing the 920's mem controller too much or what??  Hate to see it when they relase memory that can allow for a full 24gb, especially if it cant handle 12...  Any ideas???
    Well, i figured it out, i need massive amounts of qpi volts to get it to work, up to and over .300.  But have it runnin 3.8@1600 9-9-9-27 cr2, gonna try and tighten the timings and see if bandwidth goes up or not...

    Apple Unibody 13.3" MacBook Pro (Mid-2010): 4GB vs. 8GB DDR3 1066MHz Memory (RAM).
    1. About my Mac.
         Processor: Intel® Core 2 Duo (2.66GHz)
         Memory (RAM): 4.00GB DDR3 1066MHz (2 x 2.00GB)
         Hard Drive: 320GB 5400RPM (Apple Stock HD)
         Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 320M (256MB)
         Operating System: Mac OS X Lion (10.7.1)
    2. My concerns/questions
         For quite some time now, I've been planning to upgrade the memory (RAM) of my MacBook Pro from 4.00GB (Apple Stock) to 8.00GB. In terms of "FASTER BOOT TIMES, IMPROVED RESPONSIVENESS (OPENING and CLOSING PROGRAMS, FILES & ETC.), SMOOTHER GRAPHICS, ABILITY TO OPEN MORE PROGRAMS SIMULTANEOUSLY AND OVERALL IMPROVEMENT IN PERFORMANCE", does it really make a BIG difference?
         If ever I am going to pursue this upgrade, should I let Apple do the upgrade or buy the parts and do it myself?
         If I am going to buy the parts and install it myself, what brand do you recommend? Crucial, Kingston, OWC & etc.?
         Why does Apple charge so much for memory (RAM) upgrades? Is the memory module they are using any special compared to the ones we can find in Amazon (Crucial, Kingston, OWC & etc.)?
    Thanks for helping me out with my concerns.

    I recommend OWC RAM because it's reasonably priced and OWC's support is great if you ever need it. I recommend installing the RAM yourself because it's dead simple. There is no good reason for anyone ever to pay Apple's prices for RAM.
    I don't think you will see faster boot times with more RAM, but that shouldn't be a concern, because there's seldom any need to shut down or restart a MBP. Just put it to sleep when you aren't using it, unless you won't use it again for more than two or three days. Opening and closing programs won't benefit significantly from more RAM either, but when running multiple large programs at once, you will see a significant improvement in their performance. It's well worth the small investment ($65) to upgrade from 4GB to 8GB.

  • K8N Neo-FSR nForce3 - Corsair XMS memory running at wrong speed

    I have a mobo mentioned in the title. The problem is with upgrading the memory - I've recently bought a 1GB memory stick to go with the 2 existing 512kb memory sticks to make up a total of 2GB, the maximum allowed by this mobo.
    The problem is if I have all 3 sticks installed i.e. 2GB the memory will only run at 166mhz/DDR333. If I have just the 1GB stick installed it runs at 200mhz/DDR400. If I have the 2 x 512mb sticks installed it runs at 200mhz/DDR400. If I have have the 1GB and 1x512mb stick, either one, in either socket, it runs at 200mhz/DDR400. BUT if I have all 3 sticks installed it only runs at 166mhz/DDR333.
    Does anyone know whats going wrong and how to fix it?  ??? The memory sticks are all Corsair XMS 3200C2PT 400mhz sticks. The bios version I'm not sure of, I updated the Bios after I built the PC a year and a half ago but I havn't done it since I'm worried about something going wrong (bad flash = dead PC) etc. The stick timings are all 2-3-3-6 I've tried it with the "auto" setting in the Bios and setting the timings manually but the result is the same.

    you might try different timings on the memory, something like 3-4-4-8. there is technically one way to pass this issue and that is by overclocking. you can OC your CPU till the memory will run at 200mhz (i think FSB should be 240 in this case if i'm not mistaken)
    I'm not very up on o/c'ing.. in fact I know next to nothing about it. How would I do that without damaging anything?
    Quote from: Apple renegade on 08-March-06, 18:05:33
    Not sure about the nForce S754, but the via ones had no way to run on DDR400 using 3 sticks.
    Doesn;t it say in the manual ?
    It does so here:
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=571
    Sorry, where? I can't see any mention of it. According to the manual and on the website it ought to be compatible:

  • There is not enough free memory to run this program

    Hi all,
    I am running into an issue with OfficeXP SP3 that has been virtualized using ZAV 8.0.1 and registered using the msi method. First, when you try to open a document from a web browser (Firefox in my case) it will open the downloads window and show the file but never launch the virtualized Office. Then if you try double-clicking on the document in the downloads window, nothing happens. If you open the folder that the document was saved to and double-click on it nothing happens. If you go into open with and choose the virtualized officexp it gives this error: "There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again."
    Now here is the really odd thing, you can double-click on a word/excel/etc document in MyDocuments, a network drive, anywhere and it will open the appropriate officexp application just fine. I will also mention that firefox is virtualized as well but the same process works fine with openoffice.org.
    This also happens if you choose to save the file to a specific location. It cannot be opened. However I just discovered that if you move it to somewhere else, say the desktop, it will open just fine.
    Anyone have an idea what might be causing this issue? Is it somehow related to the sandbox?
    Thanks,

    Look in the class section of the registry for the FF virt app... See if some of the same extentions are in there.
    I would guess that FF has its own file associations for those document types and that is whats failing.
    If you remove the file association conents (but leave the folder and set isoation to writecopy) then the FF virt should be able to view and use the workstation file associations for the virt XP.

  • Is this real DDR3-1600Mhz Memory?

    I was wondering if this is real DDR3-1600Mhz Memory?
    http://www.alternate.nl/html/product/Geheugen_DDR3-1600/Corsair/4GB_DDR3-1600_Kit/-1078683/?tn=HARDWARE&l1=Geheugen&l2=DDR3&l3=DDR3-1600
    Its a dutch site, but if you click 'meer details' you should see all the spec's.
    In short:
    Size 4096MB
    Timings 9-9-9-24
    Voltage 1.5
    I was wondering since it was only 75 euro's, don't know if that much for real ddr3 1600 ram or not. I'm checking at more RAM sticks but are all 1.5V ddr3-1600Mhz ram real ddr3 1600Mhz ram or are they like triple the amount of money?

    It looks to me that the linked modules in your post are engineered for i7 X58 systems (TW3X4G1600C9D). The X48C manual shows 1.5v for DDR3 in dual channel as ok for the board, but specific requirements as to population of the modules is emphasized in pages 2-7 & 2-8. They are also most likely 'rated' 1600 by controlled laboratory testing, & only 1333 chipped.

  • Memory only runs at 2T

    My Corsair 1GB (2x512) Value memory only runs at 2T. This is the setting that comes up in AUTO. I tried going manual and setting it to 1T but the system froze and wouldn't boot then, I had to clear the bios and start over. I don't have any experience with overclocking, but thought it should be running at 1T. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    About 1T/2T:
    Quote
    Hello,
    1T and 2T Command Rate, also known as CPC or Command Per Clock, is a motherboard timing not a memory timing. 1T/2T commands indicate how the system clocks are allocating the timings of a command to the system. 1T = 1 clock cycle and 2T = 2 clock cycles.
    On average there may be a performance difference in between 7-10% (depending on who you talk to, platform being run, benchmark used, etc)
    1T/2T Command Rates can be setup differently based on manufacture, motherboard, processor type (Intel Vs. AMD) etc. At higher speeds, drivers, board layouts, chipset requirements all can add up to the system performance overall. Changing the 1T to a 2T command rate can stabilize the system if issues arise.
    Since 1T-2T command rates are not a memory specification, Crucial does not list this as part of our overall module specification.

  • How do I get H61M-P31 to use 1600 memory? What settings?

    Just bought this combo from Fry's, with a Celeron G1610. Seems like a nice grandma system upgrade which is what it is for. I am using Corsair 1600 memory sticks, 2 2gb in dual channel.
    I tried to get 1600 speed out of it, but remains stuck on 1333 (667 in cpu-z).
    I set XMP to enabled, link to auto and tried link, neither made a difference.
    Do I need to up the voltage to 1.65 and what else? Is there a setting for the memory that will actually enable the xmp profile? It seems the JDEC requires 1.65v instead of stock 1.5 volt to get the 1600 (800 x2) speed, but I have hesitated to just raise the voltage and see what happens (I have fried things before just fooling with settings).
    Does anyone know how to set this up? I have the latest BIOS.
    By the way, I also installed the control center, which always starts with the message "please update ME version", even though I have flashed the "bios with me" to 2.6 from 2.5 and then to 2.7. I have the latest Intel software driver installed, too.
    Anyway, sure would appreciate some help on the proper settings.
    Thanks in advance.

    Geez, what an ego. What you said was you didn't think the chipset would support it, which is the motherboard, not the processor. You didn't say you knew, and going on someone's guess is never a good idea when setting up computers.
    Apology for the tone of my response, and I can see that my wording wasn't very precise. I should have posted both links and just said no.

  • Diamond Plus; Cell Menu CPU FSB Set at 250 x11 but Board Running 200.9 x14

    I have FSB set at 250 with the CPU multiplier set at x11. Memory is set at an FSB / DRAM ratio of 1:1. The memory modules are in slots 1 and 2 (green / purple). While in the BIOS Cell Menu it is reporting Memory frequency at DDR500 and the CPU at a slight underclock. This agrees with the above settings. However, in BIOS / Standard CMOS Features / CPU Configuration, it shows the CPU running at 2816Mhz with a multiplier of x14. This is equal to the settings (200.9 x14) that are applied when "Load Optimized Defaults" is loaded and saved. All of the settings in the rest of BIOS setup are definitely set to Manual and the setting values as noted in the first sentence.
    CPUZ is also reporting a FSB of 200 with a multiplier of x14. It's showing the memory as PC3200 and running at DDR400 which makes sense if FSB is really running at 200. Long story short, it's reporting everything at the stock settings as set by "Load Optimized Defaults". It is correctly showing the memory in dual channel and the command address rate at 1T. This is the latest version of CPUZ. I had an older version saved on CD. I tried this old version and it reported the same thing.
    I have all of the dynamic overclocking options, wakeup options, cool n' quiet and automatic fan speed controls (except northbridge) disabled. If there's any other options that could throttle down the CPU I sure couldn't find them. Even if there were, my CPU is running atb 39C at idle so it shouldn't kick in any thermal throttling. When I flashed to the version 1.19 BIOS version at MSI Tech Support's direction to solve the "phantom modem" issue, I took the extreme route to clearing CMOS; powered down, removed or disconnected all the components, pressed the clear CMOS button, removed the battery for 30 minutes, pressed the clear CMOS button again, reinserted the battery, pressed the clear CMOS button yet again, reinstalled / reconnected the minimum required components, flashed the BIOS, cleared CMOS again, cleared nvram, loaded optimized defaults and saved, manually adjusted all the settings, reinstalled / reconnected the remaining components.
    I'm at a loss to explain this. MSI Tech Support says they can't help me because this involves overclocking and they're not allowed to provide advice.
    Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?
    Thanks in advance for any help provided.

    I've been experimenting with different combinations of FSB / Multipliers / Memory dividers. My best performance is with the CPU at 250 x12 for 3.0 GHz, and memory still at 3-3-2-8, 1:1 and 1T. This is all at stock voltages and I'm not willing to risk frying anything by raising it even a little bit. It's running fast, smooth and cool. That's all I'm looking for so that's as far as I'm going to take it.

    I'm getting the same anomaly with the value for CPU Fan. That's the chipset fan speed for sure. It matches the BIOS reading and it's the only fan I have plugged into the mainboard. Everything else is running from a rheobus.
    The NB temp on this mainboard is really exceptional. The NB on my old DFI SLI-DR routinely ran in the 48-49C range. I guess the MSI cooling solution is pretty efficient. One other thing though, I'm using Arctic Silencers on both of my graphics boards. The intake fan on the "slave" board is directly above one of the chipsets. That may be drawing an additional bit of heat off of the chipset.
    As far as the voltage values, I'm getting the same skew with a different mainboard, BIOS and PSU  so this looks like an Everest issue.
    IMHO, if your machine isn't doing flakey things that can't be attributed to anything else then your PSU is adequate. If you do go with the Diamond Plus and SLI, I would suggest upgrading the PSU. It seems that the 1 kilowatt PSU's are all the rage now but in reality 700W is more than adequate. Adjustable potentiometers must be nice if you know what you're doing with them. I don't so I don't bother looking for that feature.
    Hope this is helpful or at least of some interest.

  • HOW TO: Set up your application server to run BC4J

    How To set up your application server to run BC4J.
    INTRODUCTION
    A running BC4J application is actually the combination of:
    * Your own application files
    * BC4J runtime libraries
    In order to successfully run your BC4J application in local mode, the first requirement is
    that your application server contains the necessary BC4J libraries.
    This How To describes the steps required to ensure that you have a functional
    BC4J runtime environment installed on your application server.
    Oracle IAS 1.0.2 and Tomcat 3.1 will be used as examples.
    THE BC4J RUNTIME LIBRARIES
    Whatever application server you deploy to, the following libraries
    are required in the following order to be in the classpath.
    BC4J Libraries:
    xmlparserv2.jar
    jdev-rt.zip
    jbojdbcpatch.zip
    connectionmanager.zip
    jbohtml.zip
    jboimdomains.zip
    ordim817.zip
    ordvir817.zip
    ordhttp.zip
    jbomt.zip
    jbodomorcl.zip
    jboremote.zip
    jndi.jar
    jbodatum12.zip
    These libraries can be found in <JDEV_HOME>/lib/
    INSTALLING THE LIBRARIES ON IAS:
    Installing the libraries is simply a matter of copying them to the
    application server's filesystem and adding them to the classpath.
    IAS's classpath can be modified by editing the file:
    <IAS_HOME>\Apache\Jserv\conf\jserv.properties
    In this file you'll find the existing pre-installed BC4J libraries which
    looks like this:
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\lib\ordvir817.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\lib\ordim817.zip
    etc.
    Note! These BC4J libraries correspond to JDeveloper 3.1.1.
    In order to run JDev 3.2 based applications you will have to update these libraries
    to JDeveloper 3.2 production.
    Steps:
    1. Copy (or FTP) the JDev 3.2 BC4J libraries from <JDEV_HOME>\lib to a NEW directory on the
    appserver's filesystem called:
    <IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib
    2. Modify the classpath by editing <IAS_HOME>\Apache\Jserv\conf\jserv.properties.
    Example: (modified classpath entries)
    # New 3.2 BC4J Runtime libraries
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\xmlparserv2.jar
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jdev-rt.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbojdbcpatch.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\connectionmanager.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbohtml.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jboimdomains.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\ordim817.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\ordvir817.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\ordhttp.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbomt.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbodomorcl.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jboremote.zip
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jndi.jar
    wrapper.classpath=<IAS_HOME>\Apache\BC4J\newlib\jbodatum12.zip
    Note: Make sure to remove or comment out the existing 3.1.1 BC4J library entries!
    To see the changes, you must restart IAS and that's it, your IAS will be updated with
    the JDev 3.2 BC4J libraries which allow you to run BC4J Data Tags among other
    things!
    INSTALLING THE LIBRARIES ON TOMCAT
    As before, this process involves both the copying of the libraries
    and modifying the classpath.
    After copying the BC4J libraries to a path accessible from Tomcat,
    you can modify Tomcat's classpath by editing it's startup script:
    <TOMCAT_HOME>\bin\tomcat.bat (NT)
    <TOMCAT_HOME>\bin\tomcat.sh (Unix)
    Here is a portion of a modified tomcat.bat (on NT)
    rem Add BC4J libraries
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\xmlparserv2.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jdev-rt.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbojdbcpatch.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\connectionmanager.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbohtml.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jboimdomains.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\or dim817.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\ordvir817.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\ordhttp.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbomt.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbodomorcl.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jboremote.zip
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jndi.jar
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\jbodatum12.zip
    rem Add Oracle JDBC library
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;D:\bc4j_lib\classes12.zip
    Note: I also added the Oracle JDBC library since Tomcat does not have it.
    It is found at:
    <JDEV_HOME>\jdbc\lib\oracle8.1.7\classes12.zip
    And That's It!
    When Tomcat is restarted using this script, the necessary BC4J libraries
    will be in the classpath..
    A follow up How To:"How To Deploy a BC4J JSP Application on IAS and Tomcat"
    will be posted shortly!

    I copied the following files in jserv classpath
    bc4jct.jar
    bc4jctejb.jar
    bc4jdomorcl.jar
    bc4jhtml.jar
    bc4jimdomains.jar
    bc4jmt.jar
    bc4jmtejb.jar
    bc4juixtags.jar
    collections.jar
    datatags.jar
    jdev-cm.jar
    regexp.jar
    share.jar
    uix2.jar
    cabo.war
    classes12.jar
    nls_charset12.jar
    ordim.jar
    ordhttp.jar
    runtime12.jar
    jdev-rt.jar
    xmlparserv2.jar
    bc4j_jclient_common.jar
    webapp.war
    I got this list from Jdev 9031 on-line help
    I also copied the new DataTags.tld file to /webapp directory
    When i run my jsp page i get this error..

    In the JDK 1.3 APi docs, i found that TimerTask was introduced only in JDK 1.3
    Does this mean that BC4J (in jdev 9031) will only work
    with JDK 1.3 or later?
    Thanks for your time.

  • 2 GB memory stick run with 1 GB memory stick?

    I'm looking into the possibility of maxing out the memory on my 2nd gen Macbook from 2 gb to 3gb, and have one question left.
    Would the fact that I'd have a 2gb Crucial memory stick running next to a 1 gb Apple memory stick throw off the optimization of the system so much that it would just be better to stick with the two apple issued 2gb memory sticks?

    First Magus wrote:
    It will not hurt anything as long as they are the same speed. I did it when I first got my MacBook. I installed a Crucial stick next to an apple supplied stick and it worked like charm. I wanted to add I used it for over a year like this with no noticeable problems while using programs such as Photoshop CS3.
    You know - after I read the Santa Rosa chipset datasheet, I'm starting to wonder even about this. Intel claims that the GMA965 is capable of controlling either "533 or 667 MHz" memories - meaning PC2-4200 or PC2-5300. A cursory reading said that a full dual channel setup is achieved by simply matching the sizes, and that if the speeds were not the same, it would revert to the lower speed on both channels. However - I haven't heard of anyone trying out a PC2-4200 module. My curiosity is now piqued, and maybe I can try that tonight with a Samsung PC2-4200 module I have lying around.
    Of course Apple could configure it such that only PC2-5300 is acceptable, but I didn't go so far into the datasheet to see what was in the configuration registers.
    Of course we've recently had the entertainment of someone claiming dire consequences from mixing and matching memory brands, but I think it's safe to say that shouldn't be an issue.

  • How do I set a Phase Listener to only run for a specific page?

    How do I set a Phase Listener to only run for a specific page?
    I understand that a Phase Listener runs for ever page in the application, however I want a phase listener to only run for one page at the beginning of the application.
    I discovered I can't use a Filter, because the JSF Application instance always returns null.
    Thus, I thought a Phase Listener would be a good approach.
    Thoughts?

    I then found one suggestion that the problem might involve permissions. The suggestion was to right click PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe in its installation folder (which on my computer is at at D:\Photo\Elements 11 Organizer) and run Organizer as an administrator. This also failed.
    I don't understand why running the exe from the installation folder would have worked.
    I would have simply tried to run that exe from its real location :
    Sorry, I can't help you more about permissions...
