Setting not using battery

Can I chose to use only my adapter as an electric source for my mac, instead of having to use up my battery to the end? So is there a setting where you can chose to not use the battery when the adapter is plugged in? Would be nice to be able to save your battery, when you can use an electric outlet most of the time anyway.

This is mostly true, but under extremely heavy load, the battery can be drawn upon even when the adapter is connected, because the computer may need more power than the adapter can supply. That condition can be prevented only by reducing the power demand of the computer. There is no way to disallow drawing on the battery for extra power when it's needed, other than by removing the battery (which may void your warranty, and will cause your CPU to slow down drastically to reduce power consumption.)

Hi all there – little question to have a longlife battery: on the Mac Book the battery is not used very often. Usually its on its place with MagSafe connected. Usually it doesn't have to load the battery (red) because it charges only after droping under 95% (I think its told in the manual).
So my question: is it good this way, that when using battery only 1-2 times per week, the capacity stays good. Or should I use it more often?

I agree - using the laptop plugged in all the time does nothing for retaining the battery life. My suggestion is to use the battery, even if your sitting here working. I do this on a regular basis - a bit ago, I let the system go on batt while I was working until I got the low battery warning, then plugged in and will let fully charge, then start the cycle over again.
Personally, I don't think that leaving it plugged in actually destroys battery life, BUT work with far too many people that just assume that because they don't use their battery (plugged in all the time), that their battery will fully function when they do attempt to use it. Keeping the charge/discharge cycle active as you use your system will keep the battery at it's best. All batteries have a finite life, usually great for about a year, after that they start to decline. At/about the 3 year mark, you can usually count on replacing them as battery life will have significantly degraded. This goes for batteries for just about everything using today's latest battery technologies (Lithium Ion, NiMH, etc).

I recently did an update and my iphone 4 battery now drains within 6 hours (preveiously would be fine for 36 hours), I was told to reset my iphone and then set it up as a new phone , so as not to have the problem recur. Of course the battery "runs" constantly, otherwise the phone would die. Duh!
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

IPhone 6 Battery Usage setting not working.

When I go to my setting and check my Battery Usage setting it states: "Battery information will be available after using iPhone for a few minutes". I've been using it for hours and I get the same response when I go to the setting. I've turned off my phone multiple times to see if that would resolve it, but it hasn't. I have the same problem. iPhone 5, iOS8.0.2, used for a few days - still no usage statistics, only "Battery information will be available after using iPhone for a few minutes".
I tried restore iPhone (DFU) without restoring backup from iCloud/iTunes, resets, hard-resets, erase all settings, drain battery to 0% and charge to 100% overnight etc. - nothing helps.
I wrote to the Apple about this problem.

Please, give the title of "iOS8 battery usage statistics not working" (or something like that), choose the "Bug report" and describe the problem. Perhaps it will make that Apple will eliminate this problem in the next version of iOS. More report - greater chance.

HT5706 I have not used my apple tv in a few years, and just got it out of the bag. I connected it up, and it cannot set date, time. it also does not interact with the remote. Could it be as simple as a new batter is needed for remote?

Assuming you are disconnecting from line power, when you say switched on, do you mean it was shutdown or in sleep mode? If sleep mode the battery will still drain because sleep still keeps some things active and the battery does drain a little. However, to go from 100% to 79% charge overnight is a bit excessive in sleep mode. Unless you have some processes set to activate over night by the cron file and do things like backup the system.
What are the statistics on the battery, the apple in the upper left corner, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power...things like battery Condition, Capacity, remaining charge, voltage, current.

If you are missing using google maps - try the Nokia map app called "here"

How to set delivery block in va01 by not use delivery block reason.

Dear SAP Gurus.
I have one scenario. I need to do delivery block on sales order while i create sales order via VA01.
Normally, I use delivery block reason in header and set delivery block in schedule line.
In addtion, i dont want to use above method and not use complete delivery (Tick on it)
So, I would like to know it has other way to do delivery block.
The cause is my manager do not allow to use this field from company's policy.
Please help me to solve this problem.

Well, do you want to say that user should not manually user delivery block at header or sch line to block the doc or any other method manually done before saving the sales order.
In that case, for making default delivery block at header, in Sales doc type (TCode VOV8) in Shipping section, maintain a delivery block as 22-Statutory Compliance(even any other option available) or for Item based block on Sch line cat (TCode VOV6) maintain default delv block there.
Or if I misunderstood your requirement then we can wait & see other solution coming for the same.

Try to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining.

Be sure you are checking the email account that you used to set up the Apple ID you used to create the iCloud account. Also, be sure to check your spam/junk folder as well as your inbox. The email you should receive looks like the image below. When you get it, click the Verify Now link.
If it still isn't there, try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right look for a link to resend the verification email.

Can I set up a wireless printer as a network printer and not use Airport?

I have a HP Photosmart Plus wireless printer set up in my network for use by several iPods, iPads, and iPhones. I have an iMac running 10.6.8 that I want to set it up on, but to use it as a regular network printer, not using Airport. Is this possible? I haven't been able to hit on the right combination of settings. I have a Samsung laser printer that works this way, and an Epson that is attached to an Airport Express, but all I get on the HP is garbage. It will work when I set it up using the HP install disk, but I have to use Airport and I don't always get a good signal where the iMac is located. I would prefer to use the wired connection to my router and access the HP's IP address, like a wired network printer. Any suggestions?

I'm using a Canon printer here which is networked via my Airport Express. My printer cannot be Wi fi enabled simultaneousely with an ethernet cable connection. It is either or. I realise that this doesn't fully answer your question, but I just wanted to give you a clue. You'd need to consult your owners manual, or HP to get a definitive answer.
If you want to use the HP printer printer only with the wired ethernet connection to your router, that should be no problem as long as it is ethernet capable.
After setting it up for wired ethernet capability, you will need through the sequence of powering your router down, and resetting you Lan network so the router and printer can pick up their respective IP assignments.

Z10 heating when not in use, battery dead in 4 hours

I've had this problem since monts. Even with no apps running and phone not in use, the phone become very hot and battery goes flat in 4-5 hours even less in some cases. It's becoming useless and even in the shops (e.g. Vodafone, Carphone warehouse) they tell you not to buy the phone because of the battery problems.
On the web there's plenty of ppl complaining about this but I can't find a solution that works.
Customer service of blackberry on twitter is totally useless since they tell you to go to a store and that's all they know. But if you purchased the phone in an airport as I did, you can't do that.
No other ways to contact blackberry and no way to get someone service the phone, since shops like Carphone warehouse service only theirs (same mobile phone carriers).
Any hint??

what happens if you turn off services you might not be using like nfc and bluetooth?
what happens if you turn off wifi when you are not using it?
what happens if you turn off cell service when you are not using it?

Why is my iPod running slow, uses nearly 600MB of space that I'm not using, and have short battery life?

I have owned an iPod touch for about a month now and I having some problems with it. On occasion, my iPod is running very slowly, even when I keep my multitasking bar empty, the native apps such as the App Store, Music, Videos, etc. lag a lot whenever i try to access content. This was not the case for me when I was running iOS 4, in which my iPod ran extremely fast and had great battery life. I most of the time keep my wireless turned off (to be specific, i turn on airplane mode approx 3/4 of the time) along with my brightness turned all the way down. Any suggestions?
I also have another concern with my storage space. I have an 8GB 4th Generation, and whenever I plug it into iTunes, I notice nearly 700MB of space that I am not using on my iPod, I have gone through all of the data and calculated that the 700MB of space that iTunes classifies as "other", i am not using this storage space. Is there anything that I can do about this or do I have to erase everything and restore to get rid of this?

- iOS 5 does slow the iPOd. Periodically powering off and then back on helps since it free up memory that apps do ot release. The iPod only has 256 MB of memeor and low memory slows the iPod.
- iOS 5 also increases battery drain. I leave mine in airplane mode when not using wifi or BT. Also see:

- An other of about 1/2 GB is normal and expected. to get it down you need to restore your iPod. Sometimes restoring from backup works but sometimes a restore to factory defaults/new iPod is required.

Update on my problem connecting in Itunes with my Airport Express. Not sure if anything I tried made a difference
but I finally got the Pop up window saying this device requires a Password. I entered the password and I can once again use the Airport Express as a remote speaker.

It is less than a year old and as I said, I don' t use it all that much

My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!
