Hi everybody,
I've got problem with contacts, this mean, I can not set default phone numbers for records in contact book.
When I choose default number from menu, contact book closes and go to the main screen.
I've tried to write some contact in Comunication Center but with the same efect.

The default number setting has effect, please see the different scenario's below:
Scenario1: Open contact application -> highlight contact -> press right navi and select "Voice call" option -> call is established to assigned default number for voice call.
Scenario2: select contact directly from homescreen (using easy dialing feature) -> press call key -> call is established to assigned default number for voice call.
Scenario3: Open contact application -> highlight contact -> press call key -> list of contact number options is displayed with default number for voice calls highlighted -> press call key again to call to default number.
So in all scenarios the default setting has effect, only in scenario 3 it doesn't start the call with the default number instantly, but it highlights the default number.

ICSS : How to set the default number login errors.

Hi experts.
Does anyone know how we can set the number of failed passwords when login to the icss application ?
While debugging i've seen that when we log we got to the backend function module 'CRM_ICSS_GET_USER_DETAILS' but i'm unable to see how and where is the check on the password managed.
If anyone has an idea, it will be very helpful. I need to reduce the number of failed from 6 to 3. Maybe it's a customizing point ...

ICSS does not attempt to limit the logon attempts explicitly. Number of login attempts before locking a userid is a Basis / system profile parameter setting.

You can change this setting to get what you need.But, this change will affect all the SAPGUI user logon behavior, and this may not be what you wanted. For more information about this, see the documentation for the profile parameter in transaction RZ11
However, if you want to programatically count , limit and give a custom message after three attempts, you can try enahncing the login related actions - such as IcssInitAction .

Work number in Lync is populated from Active Directory “Telephone Number” field. Lync builds the Address Book by reading the number and normalizing it
to E.164 format if necessary.
“Telephony Number” field is information attribute; while msRTCSIP attribute (typically) is provisioned with a Public routable
DID, when the user is EV enabled.
Let’s look this example:
User1 is enabled for Lync, but not for EV. Telephony Number is populated with the user’s PSTN number 1 (425) 555 0001
User2 is enabled for Lync, but not for EV. Telephony Number is populated with the user’s PSTN number 1 (425) 555 0002
User1 is enabled for Lync, AND for EV. Telephony Number is populated with the user’s Lync DID number 1 (425) 555 0003 and msRTCSIP attribute with the same number
in E.164 format i.e. +14255550003
User3 (EV enabled) wants to call User1 (Lync enabled, but not EV). User3 expands “Call” drop down menu on Lync client. Two options will be revealed –
Work (1 (425) 555 0001) and “Lync call”. If User3 select “Lync Call”, the call will be placed to the SIP URI of User1 and will be always “internal”. Here gets interesting – if User3 selects “Work Call”,
because User1 does not have number in msRTCSIP attribute, a match (user/number association) will not be found, the call will be sent via the mediation server , trough the PSTN network and back to the company and User1 desk (even if they are in the same room).
In both cases, the call will succeed.
In reverse scenario – User1 wants to call User3. Again, the options will be Work (1 (425) 555 0003) and “Lync call”. For “Lync call”,
as above, Lync call will route to SIP URI of User3 (internal call). If “Work” is selected, Lync will find association of +14255550003/User3 and place the call to the SIP URI of User3 (again INTERNAL call).

Set default number for many contacts?

Hi,
ive just recieved a replacement handset and imported my contacts from backup.
All contacts are there but the voice dialling feature is lost.
If i reset the default number for a contact, the voice dialling will return... however I have 900 contacts!
Is there a way to set the default number for all my contacts to, say, the mobile number?
Can I do this another way?

Does anyone know the field name in Outlook (2007 preferably) that stores or otherwise defines a contacts default telephone number?
I have 3400 contacts and want to update them. Previous deault numbers have been lost when importing them into the latest version of PCSuite.

When you're logged into the development interface, run the page with the IR. Set the rows from 15 to 5 (for example) and click "GO". Now click on the Actions Menu icon (the green gear), click "Save Report". "Save as: As default report settings". Click Apply and your rows will be set.

How can you set the default number format for Designer generated webserver apps? Designer generated Forms and reports use the TXTDFN property for this... but it does not exist in the webserver generator properties?
Until I figure this out... all of my data with the NUMBER datatype (with no (#,#)) are being displayed with 38 digits behind the decimal!!

Set default phone number in address book

Most clients have multiple numbers. When I am driving and say to Siri "Call Linda Johnson" I would like to have a default number chosen. IPhone does not offer a default option.
If I make the first number in my contact's listing the "default" can Siri be set to use that number? Or if I call it "iPhone" will that make a number a default? I have far too many numbers to use "favorites" and they may not be accessible by Siri." My car selects numbers from my phone but when I tell it to call it does not always take the first number from the list.
There are many postings on this subject dating to 2009 indicating customer preference for a default option. Either it is too difficult for Apple to accomplish or there is some solution Which I haven't learned. help or Ideas?

However, that being said, why not set a few of your contacts as you suggest and see if Siri uses that number when you tell her to call that contact?

How to change Default number of rows displayed in a Briefing Book

Hi,
We have a requirement to deliver a dashboard containing 7 dashboard pages to the business users.
To achieve this, I have created a briefing book by adding all the required dahboard pages and scheduled an agent to deliver the briefing book in PDF format. However, the briefing book delivered by the agent shows only 25 rows for all the analysis (reports) included in the dashboard pages.
I have already made the following settings:
1. At the report level, edited the table view property to show 150 Rows Per page.
2. At the dashboard page level, edited the PDF and Print properties to Print All Rows.
3. Edited the instanceconfig.xml file to include the following tag under <Table> tag: <DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>15000</DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>
Please advise if there is any setting which can help in increasing the default number of rows in a Briefing Book (OBIEE 11.1.1.3).

Bug 12671370 - BRIEFING BOOKS DO NOT SHOW ALL ROWS
As a workaround, you may want to click on the "Display Maximum(500) rows per page" button on the dashboard page before you download to Briefing books.This will work for reports with less than 500 rows.

Issue with setting a default value to a Tabular Form field

Hi -
I'm running into an issue setting the default value of a tabular form column. I'm trying to set the default value to the row number (#rownum#). This used to work in previous versions, but now it's returning 0. Is there a was to set this value in the default value attribute of the field with a substitution string?

No Apple response??? Redplum/Valassis will not help either. I searched, using the cups error message and though it is Unbuntu, same error so maybe useful...only problem: details would not display unless I join Unbuntu forum. What a pain to do anything with my Mac or find any help. I honestly regret buying this buggy OS.

As the old saying goes: when in doubt, consult the manual. The problem appears to be that I added the printer using the KDE Add Printer Wizard. It was automatically given a "socket" URI instead of an "lpd" one. When I:
- altered the printer settings at http://localhost:631 (the CUPS admin page) as instructed in the manual for the printer, and
- copied the PPD file into a second place on the hard drive (as instructed on ubunutuforums, see the link above)
..everything started working.
It's still slower than windows, but I can live with that
Probably a simple fix. Change the socket I.P. to match the printer I.P. like this:
socket://192.168.1.86:9100. The thing I'm concerned with using socket:// is that AFAIK the printer I.P. must not change. In my case I'm able to assign a static I.P. address to the printer but it's something to consider.
I found that the only thing I needed to do was change socket to lpd (and remove :9100 off the end as well). See Solving Ubuntu printer broken pipe problem (DocuPrint C525A) . BTW thanks for steering me in the right direction - very grateful.

Are you having a problem with your printer under the latest versions of Ubuntu (perhaps it worked under an older version)? Are you able to print short documents, but not longer, or more graphics-intensive, documents? (e.g. the unfortunate people at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=625493). Do they sit there as Processing for ages and then switch to Held? If you have the same problem I had the solution I tried may work for you too. Firstly, check your cups error log:
sudo gedit /var/log/cups/error_log
If you see anything like the following, the solution may be simple:
[Job 201] Unable to write print data: Broken pipe
PID 13359 (/usr/lib/cups/backend/socket) stopped with status 1!
System > Administration > Printing and right click on your printer, selecting Properties. Settings > Device URI
If you see something like socket://your_printer_ip_address:9100 just change socket to lpd and remove the :9100 off the end. Then click on apply.
Apparently lpd is a more modern protocol which works with most printers whereas socket is more raw (and potentially faster but riskier in a network situation). Somewhere along the line, the default Ubuntu/Gnome setup for networked printers shifted from lpd to socket. Some primitive printers will have benefited whereas a larger number of more modern printers will have suffered.
Please correct me if I am wrong (which is highly possible) but the underlying problem could be that socket may make the printer wait a long time for a large file to be processed ready for printing. Some printers, such as the Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C525A, may drop the socket if things take too long to start coming through.
Changing timeout settings might work but lpd is better than socket so it is the preferred solution in any case.
If this works for you, please leave a comment to let others know (ideally with a description of the printer and Ubuntu version). Printer may be relevant if it doesn’t support the direct stream protocol properly. NB I may take a while to let your comment through because of the volume of spam. Sorry about that.

HT1338 address book, max number of contacts allowed???

I'm importing some Vcards into my macbook air address book, but its stock on 1043, is there a limit for the contacts that can be manage by this application?

i have a group with 160 contacts in it; when I try to send a group email it bounces back to me with the message "Too many contacts". I looked up this question in Address Book Help but there's nothing there to answer it.
That's because it's not an Address Book issue - it's an email issue. You don't say who your email provider is, but most impose limits on the number of contacts a single email can be sent to, to prevent spammers from sending out emails to hundreds or thousands of people in one go.

We are a small business who have recently switched over to Kerio Connect. We are currently using Mac Address Book to store & share contacts (sharing via MobileMe), but have been told by our IT support company that we have too many contacts (approx. 4500) and Address Book will not support this many. They have said that this is why we are having issues with contacts emails and phone numbers scrambling. Is there a limit to the amount of contacts that Address Book will support?

Having values shuffle in the fashion described is indicative of a database corruption or an application bug, and that can (also) effect performance. I'd suggest trying to get a footprint of that problem, and then report it to Apple.
And there is no "lol" matter here. 4500 is a comparatively large number of contacts for Address Book Server, and no, AB doesn't tend to scale all that well and isn't (per information attributed to Apple) intended as a shared contact store.

Just because there's an SQL database underneath doesn't imply that the design will scale, nor that the application will have acceptable performance. It's possible for an SQL database to have millions of records and to run fast, and it's equally possible for a database to have several dozen records and the application can run slowly.
