Setting Planning to be enabled for Offline Smartview use

I'm reading in the documentation that in order to do Offline budgeting in smartview, you must enable offline in planning. However I don't see an option to enable offline in Planning. The documentation also does not show where to enable it too. Any knowledge of where it might be in the application? Thanks.<BR><BR>II

In the Planning web client, if you go to Administration-> Users, and then click on the edit tab in the Users section, There is an option after User Type as "Enable use of the Ofline Mode as drop down list to selct YES or NO "I hope this answer your question.

Maybe you're thinking of the "Warning triangle", which is similar, but installed base down, and often including a symbol in the white space:
These are more common in Europe, with the exception of the portable version, which I've seen used at road construction sites or as 'flares' to warn of a disabled vehicle on the road.

Setting up an Internal Server for Captivate 5 using ASP

We recently purchased Captivate for one of the features of being able to setup an internal server. I viewed the blog entry about setting up an internal server and it seemed pretty straight forward except that our server is setup for ASP not PHP. Does anyone have a template for ASP coding and have you set up an Internal Server for collecting Quiz Results in the Quiz Results Analyzer instead of using Acrobat.com.

Server address = FTP host
Host directory is optional but you need to ensure that Dreamweaver is looking at the root directory of your website in Remote View.
If you see a folder such as public_html or html or httpdocs or similar then you're one level too far up in the folder hierarchy on the server.
Simply put the root directory folder name (public_html or html or httpdocs or whatever it's called on your server) into the Host Directory field in Dreamweaver.

Software enable for Kollmorgen AKD using LabVIEW

Hey all, I'm relatively new to motion control, and feel like I must be missing something...
I have a PXI chassis with a 7350 card connected to a Kollmorgen AKD as described in the Getting Started guide. I can get the system to move through MAX, and I can enable the hardware through the LabVIEW Enable Axes.flx vi from the NI 73xx palette. But, I haven't found any way to do a software enable from LabVIEW... it only works through the Kollmorgen software.
Is there a way to do the software enable from LabVIEW? I haven't found anything in my searches so far.

The only way to software enable the drive from LabVIEW is via a digital bus (EtherCAT, Modbus, etc). In general, you only want to use either the hardware enable OR the software enable, not both. In your situation, you should be using the hardware enable and you should use Kollmorgen WorkBench to set the drive to be software enabled at startup (on the Enable/Disable menu).

How can I make a "Youtube" style video gallery for offline, '.air' use?

I work for a language company and we've put together a set of videos for use in computers, not online. Currently we're using Apple's Keynote to present our videos to to the student. This has the advantage of allowing us to put videos in a sequential order, with absolutely no work in the development department, and most importantly was easy for any student to control and navigate.
Things have now changed.
Keynote can no longer hold the size of our videos and we are constantly adding and changing videos all the time. Now that CS5 is out, I would like to build a stand alone flash application for our system modeled after the same look and functionality of youtube.
Key features would be:
• Main video player that links to our resident video files
• Something that generates and displays a title for the current video
• A text box below the main video player for notes and instructions
• a side bar of thumbnails for all related videos, with titles displayed
Future features would be an easy way for us to change videos in and out of the library (by "uploading" and "downloading" using a form for the videos, although not to the net, but again, on the resident computer).
It looks like CS5 would make this possible. My plan is to make a youtube-like site using flash catalyst. I think I can do it myself since the first version only needs basic elements and design, but I know I'm going to run into some problems because I'm not sure the limitations of catalyst for this style of interactive video gallery.
What I'm looking for is someone to just quickly guide, tell, or yell me in the right direction, and I'm really keen (hell-bent?) on trying it out using Flash Catalyst... is this the way?
Keeping in mind that my first draft only has to be a simple working version of the system, and I can play with the rest later, is any of what I said possible using flash catalyst?

I doubt MU can do this. It's pretty limited in scope & I don't think it supports server-side code which you would need to parse feeds. But feel free to post your question in the MU forum. Maybe somebody there has a workaround.

No. you cannot set a password for individual Apps unless said App has that feature. Apple Apps like FaceTime do not.
. You can however use Restrictions to disable Facetime, and only enable it when you want to use it, by going back into restrictions and enabling it.
Settings->Restrictions->Facetime (Turn Off)
You'll need to enter the set password to enable / disable it each time.

Set up DB Connection Pool for Oracle DataBase Using Java App Server8

In the Admin Console of Java App Server 8, I tried to create a connection pool for the oracle database. I chose Resource Type to be "javax.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource" and the Vendor is Oracle. So the Data Source Class Name is filled by the system to be "oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleConnectionPoolDataSource". Now, I set up the class path to point to the database driver class "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver" and also the to the Data Source Class Name. Also I set up the JVM options in the console. Restart the server, and then try to ping to the database, but get the error:
Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Connection could not be allocated because: No suitable driver
I don't understand what else I should do and why this error is coming?
Please help me out.

I've already solve the problem. I did the following:
set the Url to be: jdbc:oracle:thin:@hostname:port:SID
set username
set password
add oracle.jdbc.drivers.OracleDriver into the JVM options -Djdbc.drivers
restart the server
test the connection
it works :)

AirPort Extreme 802.11n* Enabler for Mac 4 use with Touch?

I have a 2nd Gen Touch with the latest updated software. I use Airport to connect to the internet on my new iMac 24". Will the AirPort Extreme 802.11n* Enabler software now offered in the Apple store($1.99) for Mac improve communications between the Touch and my iMac?

Nope. Your touch is still limited to b/g mode wireless. In fact, if you have an all n network, your touch won't even know that it exists.
Most of your Mac to iPod communication is via the USB cable unless you are using Remote or other applications that can move files on and off.
BTW, that software is to enable early intel Macs to use N wireless. If your Mac is relatively new, you won't need it.

Can I use my laptop to set up and iPad 2 for my sister. She will use it at her house.

How do I set up an iPad 2 for my sister using my laptop? I don't want to keep her information on my laptop or give her mine, however, she does have an itunes account and if I log her in on my laptop, will that allow correct set up of ipad 2 for her without having any conflicts of information ?

You do not need to use your laptop at all in order to setup your sister's iPad. I would set the device up via WiFi. If you know here Apple ID and password, its a breeze. Even if you do not know that information, it can all be entered later when she begins to use the device.
This was relevant and written for the iPad 3 but it is still the same basic setup on the new iPad with Retina display.

My recommendation is to just get it up and running for her. She will have to do so much customization on it anyway. Frankly, I think that a big part of the awe and wonder of getting a new iPad is the setup process and I believe that you cheat the recipient out of a really cool experience when you don't let them set it up themselves. Yes. tried the one ram stick, no go. I have been trying to boot off/install the windows 7 disk but am unable to get to the point where windows starts installing after its gathering information portion of the install. I can get to the disk selection screen of the install with the WD HD on SATA port 2 but then get the "cant install messages" when I try to select the Vertex 3. Yes I can see the Vertex 3 Drive as well as the WD drive at this point. some times I have to hit "scan" a couple of times.

Setting 'Content Copying' as 'Not Allowed' for offline PDF

Can anyone help on the following scenario?
Generate a PDF that does not allow user to copy contents within the PDF.
Setting the Document Restriction - 'Content Copying' as 'Not Allowed'
As this PDF is to be open offline, there will be no direct connection to the livecycle server hence not able to connect to the Rights Management Server to verify the policy.
How can this be achive?

You are correct in your understanding. Just to clarify one point though, the client machine does require the "Principal" key be downloaded from the RM server and "Synchronize for offline" is one way to get the key. In addition to this, when a user "authenticates" to the RM server to open a policy protected document, a "synchronization" occurs in the background and if there are "new" principal keys for other policies they will be downloaded even if they are not reklated to the document the user is currently accessing.
Now, in addition to Rights Management, Adobe has two other "encryption" options.
You could password protect the document to prevent "content copying", but this is not a very secure option, password protection is easily cracked, there is no user authentication, and third party PDF viewers may not respect\enforce the password protection.
Another option, which is very secure is to use the "Encrypt with certificates" option, where the PDF is encrypted for a user based on the users x509 certificate (public key). The user then uses their corresponding private key to authenticate themselves and view the document. Encrypt with certificates allows you to enforce authentication and you can allow\deny the same "permissions" that you can with RM protection. There is no requirement for a server, but the "certificate management" (certificate creation\provisioning\revocation) capability requires a PKI. Also, the user will need to have their private key available to open the document.
