Setting QRFC Queue Status to STOP

Hello
We will be scheduling reports in Prod to auto restart stopped outbound and inbound QRFC queues. But before implementing these changes we need to know if these reports are working fine TEST environemnt. Can anyone recommend us a way of setting the Status of QRFC queues to STOP.

We executed a simple scenario where we selected the Sender SOAP of the type EOIO which enabled us to define a specific queue e.g. TEST_QUEUE. In the Receiver SOAP we entered incorrect usrr id which caused the messages to be blocked in the queues. Once that was done we again reset the password to the correct values and ran our reports to restart QRFC inbound queues which helped us verify the auto restart of queues.

I have a File to Proxy assync. scenario. The file has been read, and then the message stops in the queue. I checked it on sxmb_moni, the message is posted on a queue and the queue status is "stopped" (with a red stop button printed on).
I have already read all the posts about this and couldn't find any solution... Can anyone help?

Yes connection is set proper now.
And the scenario involves EOIO
Since it is EOIO, i would suggest that you see the status of the messages in RWB (it may be in Holding)....if it is Holding then follow the lead given in this blog: /people/stefan.grube/blog/2006/04/27/how-to-deal-with-stuck-eoio-messages-in-the-xi-30-adapter-framework

Queue status stopped

Hi All,
I am trying a file to file scenario. In SXMB_MONI the message status is "scheduled" and the queue status is "stopped".
I have tried deregistering and registering the queue.
i also tired to see the error in by double clicking on the queue ID it shows SYSFAIL. when i double click on SYSFAIL it shows a message "XI ERROR Update XI Cache Queue Stopped". for this i have also refreshed the cache. but nothing seems to help.
Anyone having a clue?

1. Try restarting J2EE stack.
2. One of the reason may be database overflow. In this case also, restart is required.
3. Check if XIAPPLUSER & XIAFUSER are locked. Also retype the password and try.

Why is my HP Deskjet 970C Print Queue Status "Stopped" and won't change?

I recently installed 10.5 Leopard. Hooked up my old HP-970C Deskjet. Used the link: http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/foomatic to get the new HP Driver as recommended. Set up printer with this driver.
Each time the print command is given (Word Doc or .pdf file) nothing happens. The job is shown in the Print Queue with the Status says "Stopped." Clicking the resume button does not start the printer. Twice more and I get a message that says "Operation Could not be completed. client-error-not-possible."
Any thoughts on how to work around this?

The short answer is that you have an older HP printer, and have just been bitten by HP's abandonment of older printers on both Leopard and Vista.
The foomatic drivers should work, though; I used foomatic drivers on my old HP MFD for years. They gave better output than the ones HP shipped, and actually worked in Leopard. I put the HP onto a machine running XP because scanning didn't work anymore on either Vista or Leopard and HP had no intention of fixing it.
When I see the error you quoted, there are usually three possible causes:
1 the printer itself has a hardware problem. The fix for that is to buy a new printer, it's not economic to repair a DJ970.
2 the HP drivers are present on the system and are interfering. The fix for that is to remove the HP drivers and just have the foomatic drivers installed.
3 the USB cable is bad or loose. The fix for that is to get a new USB cable and make sure that it is securely plugged in.

Queue Status is showing Stopped

I am trying to pass IDOCS from XI and the Queue Status is showing Stopped . I am using two receivers.

BW Queue Status Stopped: SXMB_MONI

Hi
I am passing data from XI to BW into a Data Source via Inbound Proxy. The problem is for some of my messages I get the status as Green Flag(Queue Status- Stop)in SXMB_MONI.
That means all those Messages are not posted to Data source even though they are successfully transferred from XI.
If I manually try to restart them. It says that the message are already scheduled in Queue. But in Queue there is no entry.
Should I regenerate my proxy? Even though out of 10 I still have 6 successful Messages and rest 4 as Queue status stopped.
Can anyone suggest what can be the problem?

Hi,
is there any trasaction in BW where you can register your Queues. somthing like sxmb_Adm--> register Queues...
B'cos this was the same problem that i encountered when i was using another client(105) in XI-IS when executing server proxies. Then the queues in the client system were not registered.
so check if there is any place in BW system where you can register the queues.

How do I set up a filter to stop relayed mail?
Unsolicited Bulk E-mail (UBE) is electronic mail sent to large numbers
of recipients without their knowledge or consent, usually advertising commercial
products or services. It is the electronic equivalent of paper "junk
mail", and is commonly referred to as Spam.
UBE is usually just a nuisance, but the volume of UBE received at a
certain site can at times become so onerous that business-critical functions
are affected. This is especially true when UBE is used maliciously
to produce a denial of service attack, where a mail server is inundated
with UBE and crashes because of the load. Another common UBE problem
is when a mail server is used as a relay for UBE, so that a particular
server spends all its time routing e-mail that isn't destined for its
users. Some ISPs have reported that their mail servers have been
hard coded into certain spam programs, so that they are constantly being
used as a relay. Not only does this slow down their mail service
locally, but sometimes other ISP's will identify the afflicted ISP as a
source of spam and begin to block messages, legitimate and spam alike,
coming from that ISP. ISP's often name UBE as their number one problem,
preventing them from providing fast, reliable service.

Messaging Server 3.5 Hosting Edition supports powerful filtering capabilities
on messages as they are received by the server. Various criteria
can be applied to incoming messages, including testing on number of recipients,
sender domain or IP address, messages being relayed, and more. Messages
can then be bounced, dropped, or reviewed by an administrator before being
delivered. Providers can filter out unwanted mail at the source or block
a third party from using their messaging server for relaying email.
UBE Filters Functionality Overview
The UBE filter is a plugin for Netscape Messaging Server 3.5. It works
by examining all incoming mail before it is routed throughout the system
(to users mailboxes or to other email servers). The UBE filter uses a set
of rules (also known as filters) to decide what to do with each piece of
mail. The filters are used to trap specified types of mail.
Mail that is trapped can be rejected, forwarded to a specific mailbox (e.g.,
the postmaster), deleted, or altered in some way. Mail that "passes"
all the filters continues on its normal course.
Filters can be set up two ways, either using the straight forward Graphical
User Interface (GUI) or by setting up the filters directly in the filter.cfg
file. Generally, one would use the GUI interface for simple, one
line filters. To set up more complicated, multi-part filters, editing
the filter.cfg file directly would be faster. Both methods
are accessed via the Messaging Server Admin tool, under Plug-ins.
The following discussion gives some high level examples of how to set up
simple filters using the GUI and via the filter.cfg file.

Setting Up UBE Filters with the GUI
The following screen shot shows a simple UBE filter being set up using
the UBE GUI. What is being set up is a filter to check all incoming
messages to see if they come from a domain that has been a regular source
of UBE. In this case, the name of the offending domain is "spammer.com".
So, each message that comes in has its "From" field checked to see if
it is from "spammer.com". If it is, the action is REJECT, meaning
the message is bounced back to the sender, with the appended message "I
don't accept mail from spammer.com".

 
Any field in the message can be examined, with some of the most popular
including the Subject, To, and Cc fields. Any regular expression
can be placed into the Value field, thus allowing the filter to check for
various conditions, including containment of a particular phrase (e.g.
Subject includes "make money"), or number of recipients (e.g., if greater

There are a number of actions that can be taken on a trapped message.
The most common are forwarding to a "watchdog" account such as the postmaster,
rejection, and deletion. But, in addition, programs such as virus
checking can be run on a message to trap infected messages.
Setting Up UBE Filters by editing the filter.cfg file
In the above example, the filter that was set up was converted to a
short filter script that looked as follows:
Channel-From ".*@spammer.com" REJECT
"I don't accept mail from spammer.com"
This can also be directly entered into the filter.cfg file by
choosing the option "Edit Config File" from the UBE Page. This becomes
interesting for more complicated filters that require more than one filter
line. The following example shows a set of filters that were set
up to check for various conditions. For example, the fifth
and sixth line down is a filter that checks messages for viruses.

 
Using the UBE Filter for Anti-Relay
 
One of the most requested needs of the new UBE filters supported in
Messaging Server 3.5 is to provide "anti-relay", i.e., to stop UBE which
is from an outside domain and destined for another outside domain.
In these cases, the mail is usually UBE and is relaying to hide the source
of the original spammer.
There are two possible scenarios for anti-relay. One is where
there is a separate machine outside the firewall that checks for e-mail
for its domain. The other scenario is when there is only one machine
handling both internal and external traffic.
Scenario One: Separate machines used for internal and external
mail
Outside of the firewall are mail servers that handle all incoming mail
from the internet. Internal users connect to mail servers inside
of the fire wall. The scenario looks like this:
 
What we want to allow is users 1 and 2 (U1 and U2) to send mail anywhere
but X1 and X2 should only be allowed to send mail to our servers.
Solution:
On the External Mail Server create a filter script that checks the Channel-to
header for domains that are internal to us. Allow these through and
reject all other mail. E.g., the filters would look as follows:

We don't need to do anything on the internal server since only our users
can get to it (because of the firewall) and we want to allow them to send
and receive any and all mail.
 
Scenario 2: Single machine used for internal and external mail
In this scenario the same machine is used for both internal and external
connections. The problem we face here is that we need to allow the
local users to send mail outside our domains but not allow external users
to do the same. Note: This set up is not generally recommended, since it
makes the Messaging Server open to external attacks.
 
Here, we want to allow U1, U2 and U3 to send anywhere and X1 and X2
to send to domain1 or domain2 only.
Solution:
The solution in this case is to put the same script as scenario 1 on
the server but pre-pend it with lines that check for a connection from
the internal domains. If the connection is from our users it must
be from certain IP addresses, say 128.128.128.* or 128.128.129.*, so we
look for that. If it's not from one of these two IP addresses, then
it must be from outside and we apply the same logic as in scenario 1.

I agree anti-relay can be using UBE feature. However, there is serious problem in reject the spam mail. My nms is using UBE feature to stop spam mail. According to the work flow of the UBE, the mail is received by nms completely and UBE is going to invesgate the mail address. Although UBE can stop the spam mail, the spam mail have a trouble in returning the mail to the sender. The reason is the sender address is usually not existed in the world. That will cause a lot of mail waiting in the mail queue.
In my experience, do not use UBE for anti-relay.

Messages getting stuck in QRFC Queue

Hi,
Today I noticed that a message had gotten stuck with the status "Sheduled for Outbound Processing" (scenario IDOC->XI->File), XI 3.0 SP11.
This in turn had the effect that the whole QRFC queue got stuck, and all following messages got stuck with status "Sheduled".
I had to remove the first message from the queue manually so that XI could start to purge the other messages from the queue.
What could be the reason for the first messages getting stuck with this status ("Sheduled for Outbound Processing")?
The message was very small, just a couple of lines. One thing that comes into mind, is that XI received 4 IDOCS for the same interface, within one second. These 4 messages were assigned to different queues, but one of them got stuck. Could there be problems with XI when several messages arrive on the same interface within a very short time?
Is it possible to use Alerts to detect this kind of problem in the future? As I have understood, Alerts only handle XI "errors", but according to XI, this message did not have an "error status", it just had the status "Sheduled for Outbound processing"..

Hi,
If the message got struck in Queue, you try to activate the queues in smq2 to reprocess the data instead of deleting it. This is the final solution. But you should able to see a dump in ST22 for this problem.

Server Admin doesn't show Print Queue status

When I look at my print queues (all 17) under Server Admin, it shows queue name, # of jobs, shared via (IPP & SMB), and printer kind (HP LJ 1022n and HP LJ P2015). It has a column for status, but this is always 100% empty/blank. Also, if I go to the Jobs tab, then I can pick "Jobs on Queue" for all the queues, but the line below for "Queue Status" is again always blank.
Is there something I can do to get this info to show up in Server Admin? I know that CUPS knows the printer status, as I can go to localhost:631 and see the status in the Printers list and the Jobs list.
It isn't life threatening. It is just annoying to have to go to the web page when Server Admin -almost- gets me everything I need to diagnose a teacher's printing problem remotely.

Hi Keith
You could always consult the Print Service logs. If you set the logging levels to Debug or Debug2 you should get everything. You have to be a bit careful with this as the log can get quite large. Other than that I don’t know of anything that is available out of the box.
There may be others that can suggest a 3rd party solution that gives you the appropriate feedback you are looking for. Opening port 631 should not be that much of risk I would have thought?

Dear Experts,
We use SAP RFC- PI-JDBC(MSSQL). here the Data(message) successfully transfered to mssql table but the status is been set to DLNG failed, And it finally shown as SYSTEM ERROR.
QoS required: ExactlyOnce , here The Message has got inserted in that particular table and in PI adapter the status turned to DLNG faild and the service again tries to send the same message which is not possible becoz the data is set for primary value.

See above error, It cannot the Duplicate Key in your log table. Duplicate means repeated as a same data.So kindly check once your data.
IF,I assume your scenario is Synchronous, If you are using any sender JDBC adapter just check with your Quality of Service and set it to "Exactly once".

SMQ2 - Found a queue with name "*" and all other queues stuck in STOP state

Hi all,
We have a problem on the ECC side, on outbound asynchronous proxies. Sometimes a new queue appears on SMQ2 there with name "", and with status "STOP". At this time, all other queues stuck with STOP status... the only way of resetting all those queues to RUNNING state again is to delete the queue named as ""...
Some of you has any idea how this queue "*" appears there and stop all other queues?

Is not only about one queue stopped... the problem is this queue named ""... with status STOP, all other queues stops too with it. The only way to make things work again is to delete the queue named as ""... the problem is to discover what or who is creating this stupid "*" queue. I think that this is a procedural error on datacenter, but they are saying is not the case... I'm investigating, but if someone else has any idea about I would appreciate

Question 1 : The Extraction from CRM to BW takes a very long time. What can be done? (Performance Issues)
Suggestion 1: Please implement notes 653645 (Collective note) and
639072(Parallel Processing).
The performance could be slow because of the wrong control parameters
used for packaging.
You can change the package size for the data extraction.
Also note that changing the package size in the transaction SBIW
would imply a change for all the extractors. Instead, you could
follow the path in the bw system.
Infopackage (scheduler)    > Menu 'Scheduler'   > 'DataS. default data
transfer'   > maintain the value as 1500 or 1000(This value is variable)
The package size depends on the Resources available at the customer side
(The no of parallel processes that could be assigned =

2.a) Release the fields of the append for usage. ( To do this, double

Suggestion 8:CRM BW adapter meta data has to be activated first before
it is available in the system. You can use Transaction BWA5 to copy the
meta data for selected DataSources. You can reach the transaction via
the IMG maintenance 'SAP Reference IMG -> Settings for SAP Business
Information Warehouse -> Activate BW Adapter Meta Data'. For more

Question 9: I donot get any records for the delta upload of my attribute
datasource(s).What is to be done?
Suggestion 9: In case of attribute datasources, it is possible that the
entry for the GUID is missing in the table SMOXAFLD.
If , for example the datasource 0CRM_OPPT_ATTR is not giving deltas
then you can follow the steps:
1)If Delta process is active for the attribute datasource e.g.
     0CRM_OPPT_ATTR, then stop the delta process in the BW
     system
2) In the CRM system, Make the entry in the table SMOXAFLD
   for the datasource with the Key
   as 0CRM_OPPT_ATTR     GUID 3) Save the entry.Activate the datasource                           4) Check that the above entry is replicated in smoxafld_s also    after this.               5) Create a transport request manually for the following    object             R3TR   SMO4   0CRM_OPPT_ATTR
Question 10: What do the status BWSTONESYS0 , BWSTONEUSS0,BWSTTECSYS0 and various other BW status mean ?
Suggestion 10: The BW status are used to extract system and user defined
status.
The BW status are defined in the customization settings in SPRO.

Here goto-> Process user status You will find the documentation attached here for the user status. Going inside the transaction you will find the status groups USS0, ZIOP,ZMOP etc. The names of the various BW status are derived from this For ex. BW + ST+ One + USS0 gives the name of the field BWSTONEUSS0 or BWST + ONE + ZMOP = BWSTONEZMOP (Master opportunity values) (which means BWST + (status group name) + status object group name) Double clicking on any of the object groups will take you to the values that these status can have . For ex. BWSTONEUSS0 in your system can have values E001 ,E002,E003,E007 which will be shown in RSA3 as BW status values 1,2,3,7, respectively.
Similarly we have Goto -> Process system status (in SPRO). Here you can get the values for the system status in exactly the same way as BWSTONESYS0(Lifecycle status) , BWSTTECSYS2 (Error) etc. In RSA3 you get the names as BW status, To know which corresponds to which status here,Goto the record list in RSA3 . Here goto Settings - Layout -Current . Right click -> Press Show technical field names . You will be able to see the BW status names and will be able to adjust the layout accordingly.
