Setting subglobal links on template

Dear friend,
Is there a ‘user friendly’ way to edit the
subglobal links in a Dreamweaver template? I just can’t
figure them out, and I’ve done a lot of research. From what
I’ve gathered, it seems only doable on the coding level.
Please advise.

If you are worried by working in code view, then please
reconsider your use
of these templates. They are NOT (definitely not) for anyone
who is not
pretty comfortable with HTML, CSS, and javascript. They are
quirky and
arcane and will drive you to drink. Would you consider
something a little
less ... strange?

File link to template is being changed

Hi all,
Does anyone what would change the link to template in a file?
When I look at a file the template info is greyed out and
can't be edited. Considering the following text.

Today, I noticed that that file was not displaying pictures
that are set up in the associated template. When I checked the
file, I noticed that the link had changed from relative to
absolute,as seen below.

As I can't can't change template info that shown in the file,
I must recreate it from scratch, apply a template and then save it
as the original file.
What would cause this? Any suggestions on how to avoid it?

possibles-
-saving the file to outside of the current site definition.
-changing the site definition's Local Site folder so that the
files are no
longer within the Local Site folder, then opening them.
-wild find and replace
-problem between chair and keyboard
to fix-
dw will do find and replaces on that, as long as the file is
not open.
or you can use a different text editor to change it.
in dw, select the files, and in find and replace, change in
selected files.

How to set up Link Aggregation on Windows 7 ?

I am going to buy a new Switcher that is LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol) supported so I can get a little bit better internet by combining my two ethernet ports on my MacPro (Mid 2012) where i have Windows 7 Ultimate installed as well as Mac OSx. On Mac OSx it is easy to set up Link Aggregation takes only 30 sec by going to Manage Virtual Interfaces and click round (for doing this you need a Link Aggregation supported router or switcher), but on Windows it seems to be a little bit harder after looking around for a while now. Is there anyone here who knows how to do it or know if its possible to set up Link Aggregation on Windows 7 ?
I'll be thankful for any help i can get

How to set up link on icon to forward PDF file as email attachment

HI,
I need urgent help.
I know this used to work but cant find it in Acrobat XI.
We created a file for a client, on the last page is a twitter, facebook and linkedIn icon which are set as links in Indesign to forward to the matching social network. Works fine when I created PDF with Hyperlinks.
We also set up an envelope symbol which shall get, now where it is set up as PDF, a link, so the PDF itself can get forwarded as a email attachment.
I can not find this function on a MAC nor on PC Acrobat XI.

Set image link to a file which not yet exists

Hi to all,
I'm working with InDesignCS2 on Mac and Windows.
Is it possible to set an image link to a file which does not exists yet.
I have document with some JPG files in low resolution.
Later, if the document layout is finished, I want to
change the image links of the document to corresponding PSD files.
E.g.
The document is layouted with the imges image1.jpg, image2.jpg, image3.jpg.
Now a want to change the links to corresponding PSD files image1.psd, image2.psd, image3.psd.
BUT: the PSD file do no exist on the current working place.
The images image1.psd, image2.psd, image3.psd exist on a destination working place.
The document with the missing PSD links will be copied to the destination working place,
in the some folder where the PSD file are placed.
If I open the document on the destination working place the links set on the first
working place should be satisfied now.
Now it should be possible to print the document with the hires PSD images.
My question:
How can I set a link to an image which does not exist yet?
The name, the path and the format are known.
Please let me know, if you have an idea how to do that.

I might be proven wrong but I don't think you can link to a picture file that's missing.
That would be an interesting feature actually - but probably too smart.
What you could do instead is to use a dummy picture file to be replaced later in your production workflow.
Something I did a long time ago was to create a text frame with the full path written in there.
Then I was making a snapshot of this text frame.
Then I was replacing the text frame by a picture frame - same size, position, etc.
Then I was placing the snapshot within this picture frame...
At the end I had a link to a temporary picture file that was displaying its full path to the layout artist - providing a valid link to a real picture, to be switched to the real one later in my customer production workflow.
This is a classical case actually - and I'm sure there is dozens of solutions implemented out there . . .

Shopping cart Issue with ( "Default settings:   Set values" ) link

Hello SRM Gurus,
I have an issue in shopping cart process:
When creating a shopping cart, I am trying to change the u201CDelivery Address/Performanceu201D tab data through link u201CDefault settings:   Set valuesu201D, then add the items in to shopping cart and ordered. The change values are properly populating. For example (Street/house number) .
But when we re-creating the shopping cart, the changed values are not populating automatically (Itu2019s not updated in to master table I guess) and we need to open the link u201CDefault settings:   Set valuesu201D and change the values again.
So is this link (u201CDefault settings:   Set valuesu201D ) active only for that particular Shopping cart? Or is it missing to update the changed data in to master table?
Because business wants, when changes happen through (u201CDefault settings:   Set valuesu201D) link, It should be update in to users master and when open next time the changed value should be populated.
Is this standard behavior of shopping cart?

Actually my issue is that,
When creating new shopping cart, trying to change some values through "Default Settingsu201D will it be parentally stores the changed value into user master data? Or it is temporarily changes for that shopping cart alone?
Because business wanted when changing the values in "Default Settingsu201D the changed value should be appeared when creating shopping cart next time also..
So I want to know that , What is the standard behavior of u201Cdefault settingsu201D . Kindly let me know your experience.

Need to permanently set network link modes (duplex and speed)

Hello everyone,
I have an Intel on-board network card which does not play well with my FritzBox. According to Intel this is a known issue in how the card negotiates its link mode. Intel provided a tool to set the link mode under windows (because the standard windows settings did not persist). Now I successfully figured out how to set duplex and speed to the appropriate values but i have to do this every time on boot with
$ ethtool -s eno1 speed 100 duplex full
My question now is twofold:
1. Is there any other way to persistently set those values? I know about mii-tool but this reports my card is not supported and I don't know if it would persist a reboot.
2. If i need to run ethtool on every boot: What would be the preferred (best-practice) way to do it? I'm still really new to arch and Linux but cursory reading indicates to write a systemd service.

Links in template don't work in the children

I have created a template in CS4 with graphic roll over links. I have made six pages from this template and then gone back to the template to connect the links in the menu bar. Why don't the links work on the six pages in a browser?

It sounds as if the updated files were not uploaded to the server.
Or perhaps the links were not properly propagated from the Template file to the child pages:
Re-open your template file and remake the links by using the browse to file method (in the Properties Inspector). If your graphic rollovers use javascript, you may need to reapply the javascript. Don't try to type in the paths for the links; the Template has its own methods for sorting out what the links need to be on child pages.
Save the file. Click "yes" when the dialog box asks if you want to update files that depend on the template.
Any of those files that are open at the time you do this will have to be saved again (Save All). Those that are not opened will be updated in the background.
Upload ("Put") all the updated files to your server.

Can you set a layer to "Template" through script?

     I am creating a script to batch export multiple artboards as SVG, and setting a layer to "Template" will keep my unwanted paths from exporting. I am using Illustrator version 17.1.9(64bit)
Is there a way to set a layer to "template" through script?

You are correct on this, if I create a template Action let say called "template layer" I can call that with app.doScript("template layer", "folder"). After testing it does work... on my client where I have the Action, but I have a few other artist who will need to run this script.
EXAMPLE:
for (var i = 0; i < app.activeDocument.layers.length; i++)
    app.activeDocument.activeLayer = app.activeDocument.layers[i] ;
    if(app.activeDocument.layers[i].visible == false){
        app.doScript ("template layer", "NI");
The only other solution I can think of is putting all non-exportable objects on a layer, and call that layer "nonExport" and select all objects on this layer delete them, then export, then undo this action ... ewwww... sounds messy.

i have set my links to be black in my page properties. i have somes images that i am using for links and i do not want the to have a black box tracing their outline. it's messing up my design and tables. is there a way for my images that are links NOT to be denoted by whatever color i set my links to be in my page properties?

How to maintain two sets of links

We have an organization chart on our intranet that we would like to place on our Internet site as well. The different units listed on the intranet site org chart have links to the corresponding intranet page for that unit. For the Internet org chart, we would want the links to go to the corresponding Internet page for that unit.
This is easy enough to do once. We would replace the intranet link with an Internet link. However, from that point on, we would have to either maintain the intranet and the Intranet org charts in parallel or else maintain one org chart and re-do the links for the second chart every time the org chart is updated.
Is there any way to maintain two sets of links for a single org chart file, and have the intranet links be active for the PDF placed on the intranet and the Internet links be active for the PDF placed on the Internet? The URLs are not visible on the org chart; instead, the name of each unit is a link.

I think it will be a mess. Just create two copies of the file, one with internal links and one with external ones.

How would I link different templates layout together

I'm new here but not new to Dreamweaver. But having said that I never used the "save as template" for multiple page layout, if that's possible at all.
The website I'm working on has 4 different page layout and I'm wondering if I can link the templates together so I don't have to go over each templates to make changes to the navigation as the site grows.
The site will eventually end up with hundreds of pages using the 4 layouts and possibly more down the road. Hence the reason why I'm trying to find a way to link all the templates together.
I'm using Dreamweaver cc and the site is html.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Nested Templates are bad news. There's no reason to use them. Don't go down this slippery slope. In fact, there's no reason to use 4 Templates. It unnecessarily complicates your site. One template that contains everything you need for your entire site is all that's required. Learn to use "Optional Editable Regions" and embedded CSS code for page specific styles. One Template makes your life so much easier .

I have a horizontal CSS menu in a DW template that requires a
bit of sniffer code to work properly in IE
Below is the code in the template:

Child pages of the template do not update the path to
csshover.htc to create the proper relative path.

Here are seven common mistakes that will result in changes
not propagating
from Template to child -
1. Rename the Templates folder
2. Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in
the site other
than root level
3. Move a template out of the Templates folder.
4. Make changes to an editable region of the template (which
will not
propagate)
5. Assume that template changes can be uploaded to the server
without also
uploading the changed local files
6. Corrupt the site cache so that the link between template
and child page
is broken
7, Improperly create your child pages by simply opening the
template,
adding page specific content, and resaving the template with
an *.html
extension rather that its *.dwt extension. (you can tell if
this is the case
by looking at the code on a child page - if you see anything
like <!--
TemplateBeginEditable... then this is what you have done)
The 6th problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced >
Recreate Site
Cache, and the six others can be fixed by just not doing
them. Have you
done any of those?

Error while importing mdl in owb 11G: attempt to set mandatory link to null

Hi All,
I exported a process flow PF.PF_TOTO
When i am importing it with option "replace existing object only" in the same enviorment whitout modification i am getting the following error:
"Error at line xxx: MDL1261: Error importing PROCESS_FLOW XXXX.PF_MODULE.PF.
Detailed Error Message:
attempt to set mandatory link to null
Import ended at ...."
It's strange because with another process flow it's work and with the same PF imported in another platform it's work too.
An export from another platform to this platform doing the same error too. (It's the real goal)
I don't understand why this PF don't work on this platform only and i don't find any info on this error.
PS: Sorry for my poor English...

All the owb sessions are closed.Actually this enviorment is used by our QAand dev also uses it for checking the bug. And since we dont have APPS password for this we are not getting what owb objects are locked. According to owb team suggestions we have bounced the db but still its not working. i am not getting that why only one mdl is giving the lock error but the other mdls are getting imported sucessfully.
