Setting the ownership in Answers

Hi Gurus,
I tried to modify the ownership of a report or ibot - as Administrator- in the Answers->Manage Catalog but
I could not do it.
The link seemed to be active, but after clicking nothing happened.
Using Catalog Manager I could modify the ownership.
Second:
Using the Answers->Manage Catalog I did not see the red "X" near to ibots so I cannot drop the them.
Only if I open one of them.

Hey Dutch,
Yes. There are a series of CSS files (and classes within the "regular" CSS files) which relate specifically to Answers. The icons and logos can also be found in the same place.
I don't know the names off the top of my head, and can't check now, but it is possible - i've done it before. I recommend going into answers, viewing the HTML page source through your browser and looking for anything ending in .CSS. You'll also find the .gif and .jpg/.jpeg files this way.
Chaning the skin/style is time consuming and requires trial and error to find out which classes relate to which page element. You'll get there in the end.

After I copied all of my files across using the migration assistant, the tool is nice enough to assume that I want to use the same ID that I had on my PC. This is not my case as I am using a different name on the mac. How do I get the files from the other user name? I have already set the sharing permissions so that I can see them on both user ids, however the only way I can see to update is to copy them all. As I have about 1TB of files, this is a little inconvenient. Any thoughts?

Thanks. It got me on the right track. At the end, I copied the 1TB over and just deleted the other profile. I tried to set the ownership to my regular ID by removing the lock from "Get Info" but I still had to move them out of the other "user" folder.

In the "Get Info" window on my MacBook hard drive icon, I accidently changed the "ownership & permissions" access admin setting to "read only" & now it won't re-boot the operating system. Just displays the Apple logo & running wheel on a white screen . Any advice on how best to re-set/restore would be very much appreciated, thanks

Click here and search the article for '2 out of 3' without the quotes; this generally involves either a message being sent to your rescue email address or contacting the iTunes Store staff directly.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

If you aren't getting the reset link on the Password & Security section of your account on http://appleid.apple.com then you don't have a rescue email address (an alternate email address is different), and you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions - you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

Try backing it up to your computer with iTunes. Connect it to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of the phone in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now. Also go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer you apps and other purchased media to your iTunes library.

For me its:
1. Open the phone app and dial *#61# on the Keypad. Press the Call button.
2. Locate this text on the screen: "Setting Interrogation Succeeded, Voice Call Forwarding, When Unanswered, Forwards to +" and record the 11-digit number after the + symbol.
3. Touch the Dismiss button. Now enter this code on the Keypad: *61*+ followed by the 11-digit Forwards to number recorded in step 2, followed by *11 and *ringtime#. Ringtime is the number of seconds you want your iPhone to ring before voicemail picks up. Your finished code should look something like this:
*61*+18555513466*11*30#
In the example above the ring time is set to 30 seconds. Press the Call button.
4. You should receive the message: Setting Activation Succeeded. Press Dismiss and next time you receive a call it will ring for the new amount of time before going to voicemail.

That is something controlled by you cellular carrier. I'm not sure all carriers have an option and some only have two choices for length of time before voicemail.

Voicemail is a carrier feature, not a phone feature. This has to be fixed by your carrier, so contact them, as obviously, voicemail is not properly provisioned on your account.

Feature request: Ability to set the Home button to answer incoming calls

Rather than have to manipulate the slider to answer a call, it would be easier (and safer in many cases) to be able to click the Home button to answer a call. That could be implemented as an option on Settings/General/Home. Has this been requested?

To prepare a computer for sale or donation, in addition to the steps mentioned in this support article, take these steps:
If you set a firmware password, remove it by running Firmware Password Utility in Recovery mode.

Setting the Author and Modified Time of Files and Folders via 2013 Rest

We've got an 3-legged-oAuth, `permissions on the fly` app that interacts with Sharepoint via the Rest AP. We're running into some hurdles preserving ownership and modification metadata on files migrated into the system.
With Sharepoint, the typical approach is to authorize a single admin user an use their credentials to upload every file arriving from the source. The problem: every file's author is now the admin user.
Is there any way to change the Author of a file during the initial upload or afterwards? The docs here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dn450841(v=office.15).aspx#bk_FileCheckOut suggest not.
Some services, such as Box and Google Drive provide various delegated authorization capabilities to create files on someone else's behalf. Perhaps this is an option? We could, for example, multiplex a set of oAuth tokens but that would require potentially
hundreds of users going through the rigamarole of the 3-legged oAuth flow.
Is our only option a C# app to fill in these gaps?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to change the Author of the file.
If you don’t want to use the C# option, we can use the JavaScript to retrieve the created by field then change it.
