Setting the time automatically

Hi.
My iPhone4 is 7 hours ahead of the actual time when I use the automatic setting.
I run software version 4.3.5 and I am currently in Cambodia.
In other places the automatic setting normally works ok.
Interestingly enough my iPad (also version 4.3.5) has no problem setting the correct time.
No a major problem setting the time manually, just a bit of a pain when I forget and the alarm goes off early...
/K

Hello Basilsami,
It sounds like your phone is not keeping the correct time and date, either when set to automatic, or manual. I recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting issues with date and time
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3920
Follow these steps. Test after each step to see if the issue is resolved.
Ensure that the version of iOS on your device is up to date.
If the option to enable date and time automatically is available, turn it on. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Ensure that your time zone is set up correctly. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time > Time Zone.
If the incorrect date, time, or time zone is being set up automatically on the device, please notify your cellular provider. In the meantime, tap General > Date & Time and turn off Set Automatically. Then set the appropriate time and time zone manually.
Note: The option to set automatically might not be available on all carriers in all countries.
Additional Information
Note: If you find that your device's time is incorrect after you sync with your computer, your computer's time may be incorrect. Verify the computer's time in System Preferences > Date & Time (you may want to select the checkbox to set the computer's date and time automatically).
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Setting the time automatically, or manually yet still gives wrong time.

    Ever since I've updated my 5c, the time keeps messing around. It's never the right time. I've tried manual and also set it automatically. It keeps delaying in time and gives wrong hour/minutes. I cannot set the alarm or do anything because the time is just wrong. I don't have a problem with my other apple devices regarding the new software update, it's just with this phone.

  • HT1430 Why is my clock 13 minutes slow on my iPod touch if I have it set to set the time automatically? I have ios7.1.

    My clock is slow by 13 minutes.

    Internet does work right?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    When I try to set the automatic time zone on my iPad wi-fi mini in Settings all I get is the "waiting" wheel constantly turning.

    How to solve this problem?
    Thanks!

    You must be connected to a good wifi network for it to reach an outside time server.

  • Set Date & Time Automatically

    I have an Airport Extreme tied to a cable modem. I also have an Airport Express setup using WDS (remote base station). On both the Exteme and the Express I have checked "Set Data & Time Automatically" and selected "time.apple.com".
    The Extreme finally has the correct date and time. (And I assume year.) However, the Express keeps loggin this error; "No address for NTP server time.apple.com." (I am using the "AirPort Management Utility" to view the logs for each Airport.)
    I tried typing in the raw ip address for time.apple.com but it didn't change anything. Other then this minor issue both Airports are working fine.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Your setup is similar to mine but my Express is in Client Mode not WDS. Here are some of the log entries I see. After it powers up the time is wrong and it reports the same as you of "No address for NTP server time.apple.com." but after a short time it does!

  • How do I set the Time of Day that a sync will occur?

    Like a lot of Aussies I have an ISP plan that has Peak/Off-Peak hours. What I want to do is have my iTunes do all it's sync/podcast updates at a certain time (say 4AM) when I'm not doing anything else, it's taken from my Off-Peak monthly usage total and leaving me both free bandwidth and Peak time capacity for the month.
    I notice I can set my Podcast updates to check daily, but how does one set the time of the day?

    I believe that when it has attempted to download (or actually downloaded) it automatically schedules the next attempt after the time period. To make it execute your downloads at 4AM, get up at 4AM once and force it to check for downloads, it should schedule the next attempt at 4AM the next day, then the following, etc.
    I would schedule the first download early in the offpeak hours so that if there is any drift in the time, it wouldn.t run into the peak hours.

  • "Set date & time automatically" not staying checked

    I don't know if this has already been discussed (searched and found nothing) but I just noticed tonight that on both my black MacBook and my new MacBook Pro will not retain the "Set date & time automatically" function. I check the box, close the window, open the date & time settings pane again and it's unclicked. I have no idea when this began happening but it's getting pretty annoying. I believe this could also be contributing to the older MacBook not working with Back to my Mac anymore.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    HI,
    Open System Preferences/Date & Time. Make sure the box is checked for automatic. Now click the gold padlock icon so it's closed. You will be prompted for your admin password. Quit System Preferences and restart your Mac.
    See if that helps.
    If not... Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • How to set the time on a WRT160N

    On the status page of the admin console, the current time is listed as 'Not Available'. I've looked through the web admin pages but cannot find the place to set the current time.
    How do I set the time on a WRT160N?

    Under the setup tab...You can select the Time Zone...Select the time zone for your location. If your location experiences daylight savings, leave the checkmark in the box next to "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" and click on save settings.

  • How do you set the time period on IMAP email accounts (razr maxx)

    Hi Guys -
    Does anyone know how you can set the time period that the stock email will keep the already downloaded messages for IMAP email accounts?
    Mine never seems to show more than a couple of days worth at a time. I'd ideally like to be able to see at least 2 weeks worth of messages without needing to download them again!
    On other phones I've had there was a setting in the menu, but either I can't find it...or it's not there. I've found the setting for how OFTEN it checks the accounts, but not the setting I am seeking.
    Your help is appreciated!
    Best Wishes for the Holiday Season.

    Hey Rich.  Once in 'settings,' there should be a "days to sync' under the 'data usage' section.   You don't have that?

  • Can't set the time on the 6500 Slide

    I just bought a 6500 slide and can't do one of the most basic things - set the time!
    I have gone to auto-update but it is shows the wrong time.
    At the time I purchased the handset the sales assistant turned the phone on to check if my sim card was working but he may have saved the incorrect date and time.
    I have managed to save the correct date but can't for the life of me now save the correct time.
    Can anyone help?
    So simple but yet I can't figure it out.
    Thanks.

    Hi racheljc,
    Try this:
    Menu
    Settings
    Time and date
    Time
    From there, you should be able to change the time.
    I hope this helps.

  • Setting the time on 1300 bridges

    stupid question, how do you set the clock on the 1300 bridges, specifically the 1310?

    kieran
    two issues
    one the Cisco AP's do not have a clock like your PC if you set the time manually when the AP loses power or reboots the time is reset to the default and you need to set it again.
    te]wo the better solution is to designate a time server for the AP to syncronize to.
    either method can be configured by clcking services on hte WEB interface and then select NTP or SNTP depending on you IOS version. then entering the time server IP address in the proper box or typing in hte proper date and time in the fields below, if you select the time server method the date and time will be filled in automaticaly once the time is syncronized.

  • How do i set the time frame of a waveform chart programmatically to be a 30 sec window or a 24 hour window

    i'm using LV7.0 and what i need to do is to be able to set the time frame or range of a waveform chart programmatically before i start taking and plotting data. sometimes this window needs to be 30s wide and sometimes it needs to be 24 hrs wide. (in the first reference, i need the chart to fill up with 30s of historical data then the whole chart scrolls with each new data point). the data acquisition records data at a rate of once per second. i've tried to use the chart properties of XScale.offset, XScale.Range.Minimum and XScale.Range.Maximum but no matter what i do the time-stamp on the x-axis is always "00:00:00 PM" and "MM/DD/YYYY" even though values are seen being plotted on the right side of the chart as expected.

    Okay, there seems to be some confusion here -- the X axis values are of type double, but they can be represented in the HH:MMS MMD:YYYY format if you want in which case it interprets the floating point as the number of seconds since 6pm Dec 31, 1903.
    You can programmatically set this value using the XScale.Minimum and XScale.Maximum properties, but note that if you wire a waveform to the chart after setting these values the t0 parameter will override what you set using the property node for XScale.Minimum.  If instead you leave the t0 parameter empty you can use the XScale.Offset property and wire the same value in that you wire to XScale.Minimum.  Changing the amount you add to XScale.Minmum to obtain what you wire into XScale.Maximum will determine the time window size.

  • Timer works if I set the time before the current one

    Hi,
    I've got a block that is part of an actionListener that has 4 buttons, anyway I want the timer to execute something exactly at the time I set it.....but in the code that I have it also executes if i set the time before the current time
    Here's the segmant:
    private class ButtonResponder implements ActionListener
              public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent event)
                    if (event.getSource() == exitButton)
                                  System.exit(0);
                   if(event.getSource() == setButton)
                        int hour = Integer.parseInt(hours[hourComboBox.getSelectedIndex()]);
                        int min = Integer.parseInt(minutes[minuteComboBox.getSelectedIndex()]);
                        Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance();
                        calendar.set(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY, hour);
                        calendar.set(Calendar.MINUTE, min);
                        calendar.set(Calendar.SECOND, 0);
                        Date time = calendar.getTime();
                    timer = new java.util.Timer();
                        timer.schedule(new TimerTask()
                             public void run()
                                  JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "it is time");
                        , time, 5*1000);
                   if (event.getSource() == cancelButton)
                        timer.cancel();
              }So if I put zeros in hours and minutes it will execute immediately....how can I make execute at the exact time (so that if the time now is 2:00 and I set it to 1:00 it only executes the next day??

    Bump the day if the time is less than current time.
