Setting to Allow Location access is missing

From what I've read, iOS 8 is supposed to have a new setting for sharing your location with an app. Specifically, there should be an option to only share while the app is running.
I do not see this choice for any of the apps I've examined in the Location settings screen. The only choices I have are Never and Always.
I am seeing this problem on both my iPhone 5s and my iPad Air. Does anyone know what's up with this? Thanks.

I've noticed that as well, though I'm starting to see more apps have this option after recent updates. Seems like apps have to update themselves for iOS 8 in general as well as to use this feature.
The last Facebook update added it, so I changed it to "only while using" (invasive Facebook!!) but Foursquare still has only off or always (though I haven't used Foursquare since they moved check-ins).

I'm working on a Dell D600 laptop, using Windows XP and Firefox 3.6.13, tho this problem has been going on for some time now. At first I thought the messages were being erased, but when I go to my email through my son's Mac Safari program, I can view all 3000+ emails. Create a Play List in iTunes.
Control-Click and open "Export" in the highlighted Playlist in iTunes.
With "Export" opened:
1. Click on "Format" and choose "M3U";
2. In "Save As" name your "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u"; and
3. In "Where" tell the program where to send your "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u".
You are done creating the Playlist.m3u in iTunes.
Open "Subsonic Web Page".
Left hand column open "Import playlist".
In "Import playlist" click "Choose File" and open the "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u"; you created in iTunes.
The "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u" should now occupy the space between "Choose File" and "OK".

The file should now be in the "Playlist" on the left.

Since the change from google maps to apple maps. It is now necessary to go to your details in contacts, select your home address, maps appear now select by tapping on a road next to your home, a new pin appears saying dropped pin, click the arrow then add to contacts, add to existing, select yourself, then edit, delete the old home address then change the new one to read home. Do for other stored addresses. Works just fine now with siri

When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network

How can I see shared pc with firewall set to allow only essential services?
So far if I set it as above then shared does not show up? I have to set the firewall to set access to specific applications and services to get access to my windows based hard drive.

Ok I solved it myself. Not an ideal solution as I have to connect it manually each time but it will do... Unless anyone has a way to have it auto connect when I start the mac.

I have applied the below code on the web.config file but this modification impacting only on the web application level not on the site collection and sub site level.

You can't do it from OOTB.
_layout folder is accessible to the users if they have read access in any of the site even subsite.
You can modify *.aspx file, add your custom control which will check user.

Setting the graphic location to a local file (RESOLVED)

I placed an image on my report and set the graphic location to an Excel file with a list of web addresses. The report successfully outputs the image from each of those web addresses.
I've tried putting a local file address in my Excel file (for example, "File: and it doesn't appear to work (Crystal outputs the default image instead). Does Crystal Reports not allow for this?

I want to be able to open a file dialog, set the initial location to an ftp:// address, and allow the user to select individual files or a directory.
I can use the File Dialog express VI, and wire in a start path, but the problem is that the filepath constant does not allow you to input ftp://[IPAddress]. If you type it in it will automatically adjust the path to read . If you right click, and hit browse and go to an ftp site, the dialog will not let you select a file or folder. And no you cannot type the address into a string and then convert that to a path. If you do it will look just like the image above.
I can use .NET functions as seen below, but it is not trivial to allow the user to select files or a folder. The same is true if I write it in C++ (although I haven't tried this yet, just googled selecting files or folders in a file dialog).
EDIT: I just realized that with .NET if I select a single file, the FileName it returns points to a temporary internet folder on my computer for example: C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\P01ODP0F\ni-rt[1].ini
The FileDIalog Express VI has these very options.
So what is the easiest way to have an initial ftp address path for a file dialog, and allow the user to select files or a folder?

Have never had to do that before - that's a bit of a drag.
Some thoughts.
1) Can you map a drive to that FTP address and go from there?
2) You could try rolling your own dialog via FTP - that's something I've definitely done before!
In the following snippet, I start an FTP session on the NI FTP site, log in as anonymous, list the base directory files/folders and then close my session. I then unbundle the directory listings array and plug the name and item type into the item names of a multicolumn listbox.

Some other applications are working allmost properly... but they use to ask every 5-10 seconds the same question: "Allow network access? The application is not..."
And some applications are working correctly. miniopera and jimm.
So, the problem is not in gprs settings.
What can i do with this problem?

You can either try to get hold of a trusted build of the application you want to run or you can change the Application access setting. When you have an application selected, click Option then Application Access and set the Network access Ask first time only.

Then I also get this:

I think it is something to do with your boot-device bring it down to 'ok'
Run printenv to see the boot devices.
ok printenv boot-device
boot-device = disk disk2 net
Run the devalias command to see the path for the boot-device:
ok devalias disk
disk /sbus/espdma@e,8400000/esp@e,8800000/sd@0,0
Review the path to ensure that it is the correct path to the boot device.
For example, if the path came back:
disk /sbus/espdma@e,8400000/esp@e,8800000/sd@0,0:c
The :c is telling you slice 2. Usually slice 2 is the backup slice and is the entire disk, not just the root slice. Hence, the device alias is improperly set for root.
To find out what the correct path is, boot the system to single user from cdrom, then type 'format' to find which slice is the correct root partition, then try to manually mount it.
say for example you find that slice '0' is the correct partition then umount and init 0 to go back to 'ok'
then do a nvalias
disk3 /sbus/espdma@e,8400000/esp@e,8800000/sd@0,0:a
then boot and try again

Ive used this app for a couple years now, invested a significant amount of money developing my account over that time (close to a couple of grand id say). The Apps support wont discuss the situation, just demand the cash to reopen my account. There is no anual fee or anything.... Its extrordinary behavior to now be faced with this loss of investment.
I dont wish to go into more detail in the public domain but your help in directing me to the apropriate contact/department would be greatly apreciated. I'm located in Australia.

Suddenly blocking a website that security is set to allow.

This evening Firefox suddenly started blocking breitbart.com and all of it's subsidiaries.
Under Tools, Options, Security - breitbart.com is set to "Allow".
If I uncheck the "Block reported Attack sites" box then I can access all of the Breitbart sites. Obviously this is not a desired solution.

The list of attack sites is updated regularly (daily?) from the same source used by Google Chrome; to my knowledge, Mozilla does not independently edit the list. Google's report is here:

How do I go about enabling Anonymous Access to the Password Reset Portal?
The following instructions don't seem accurate anymore. Has this setting changed with Sharepoint Services 3.0 SP2?
When I click on "Settings" in Step 4 the only option displayed is "Permission Levels".
Allow Anonymous Access to the password reset portal
In this procedure you will configure the portal to allow Anonymous Access to users who need to reset their passwords.
To allow anonymous access to the password reset portal
Log on to the password portal (http://<portal hostname/PasswordPortal) as an administrator.
On the top right hand side of the portal homepage click Site Actions, and then click Site Settings.
Under Users and Permissions click Advanced Permissions.
On the Permissions page, click Settings, and then select Anonymous Access.
Under Anonymous users can access, select Entire Web site, and then click OK.

If you don’t see the “Anonymous Access” menu option in the “Settings” menu, it might not be turned on in Central Admin/IIS. You can manually navigate to “_layouts/setanon.aspx” if you want, but the options will be grayed out if it hasn’t been enabled in IIS
First get to your portal. Then under “My Links” look for “Central Administration” and select it.
In the Central Administration site select “Application Management” either in the Quick Launch or across the top tabs
Select “Authentication Providers” in the “Application Security” section
Click on the “Default” zone (or whatever zone you want to enable anonymous access for)
Under “Anonymous Access” click the check box to enable it and click “Save”
NOTE: Make sure the “Web Application” in the menu at the top right is your portal/site and not the admin site.
You can confirm that anonymous access is enabled by going back into the IIS console and checking the Directory Security properties.
Now the second part is to enable anonymous access in the site.
Return to your sites home page and navigate to the site settings page. In MOSS, this is under Site Actions – Site Settings – Modify All Site Settings. In WSS it’s under Site Actions – Site Settings.
Under the “Users and Permissions” section click on “Advanced permissions”
On the “Settings” drop down menu (on the toolbar) select “Anonymous Access”
Select the option you want anonymous users to have (full access or documents and lists only)
Now users without logging in will get whatever option you allowed them.
A couple of notes about anonymous access:
You will need to set up the 2nd part for all sites unless you have permission inheritance turned on
You must do both setups to enable anonymous access for users, one in IIS and the other in each site
