Setting UK dictionary

Afternoon
Is it possible to set or download a English UK dictionary to use for Livecycle Designer?  It's currently defaulted to the custom dicitonary but apparently it's offering american spelling corrections.
Thanks
Ben

Hi,
You can specifiy the dictionary in Adobe Reader under the menu Edit ... Preferences ... Spelling, if UK English is not there then you can download additional dictionaries https://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5511.
In Adobe Designer the spell checking should be specified by the locale settings of the form.

  • How to set different Dictionary

    Hi,
    I am using Interactive Forms in SAP, in SAP Webdynpro ABAP. I am embedding Adobe Interactive Forms in Webdynpro ABAP application, I have a Language selection field in my WD Application, is there any way by which we can change the language of Adobe Forms which I selected in my WD Application ?
    So depending on the language, how to set the dictionary for that language in Adobe Live Cycle Designer using scripting or any other way, when doing spellcheck it should show the the dictionary for the language selected..
    Regards
    Vishal

    If you are on iOS 5 + and it's an IMAP based account then you should be able to add additional folders via the Edit button at the top of your current folders (Inbox, Trash, Sent). If it's a POP based account then you won't get the Edit button (I don't on my POP account and other people have said the same thing).
    If you are not on iOS 5 and it's an IMAP account then you should be able to log into your account via a browser and create new folders on the account there - they should then appear in the Mail app.

  • Exception setting connection dictionary: null has anyone seen this error

    I am migrating webobjects off of solaris and onto linux servers. The console starts up fine, but when I try to start any of the app instances, i get the following error
    Exception setting connection dictionary: null

    It seems you have multiple tnsnames.ora files. You can set TNS_ADMIN to point to the oracleDB home and it should be ok.

  • Set database dictionary in Mappingtool Ant Task

    Hi,
    I'm sure I'm not the only person that uses the MappingTool Ant task to
    create SQL DDL, so why isn't there a way to tell it to use the correct
    database
    dictionary? When I run the ant task, the SQL producted is incorrect for my
    database type.
    I've checked the MappingTookTask.java file and I can that
    JDBCConfiguration has a setter method to set the dictionary, but I can't
    see how I would add this as a parameter to my Ant Task.
    I've added
    kodo.jdbc.DBDictionary=postgres
    to my kodo.properties file but this doesn't seem to be used by the ant
    task.
    So for the momement I'm falling back on a sed script to correct the SQL
    (i.e. int8(8) to int8, etc), but this is hardly ideal.
    Thanks,
    Andy.

    Abe White wrote:
    Could it be that Kodo is in fact using the right dictionary, but is just
    issuing bad SQL? What version of Kodo are you using? And what exactly
    are the symptoms of the problem? The use of type names like int8(8)?
    Is that generated for an existing database column, or a new one Kodo is
    creating?Something strange is happening because my other Ant tasks, including a
    mapping tool task that creates the database tables works fine.
    Here is how I call the task that creates the schema file -
    <pre>
    <mappingToolTask action="refresh" sqlfile="${sql.schema.file}"
    schemaaction="build">
    <fileset dir="${project.src.dir}">
    <include name="**/*.jdo" />
    </fileset>
    </mappingToolTask>
    </pre>
    Here is how I call the task that creates the database tables -
    <pre>
    <mappingToolTask action="${param.action}">
    <fileset dir="${project.src.dir}">
    <include name="**/*.jdo" />
    </fileset>
    </mappingToolTask>
    </pre>
    As you can see only only differnce between the two tasks is the sqlfile
    and schemaaction properties - it is as if the code that writes the schema
    file does use the same dictionary logic as when the database tables are
    created.
    Th error manifests itself as incorrect data types (for PostgreSQL). I get
    int(8) instead of int8, etc. Currently I correct this as follows -
    line = line.replaceAll("int8\\(8\\)","int8");
    line = line.replaceAll("int4\\(4\\)","int4");
    line = line.replaceAll("timestamp\\(8\\)","timestamp");
    line = line.replaceAll("bigserial\\(8\\)","bigserial");
    line = line.replaceAll("bool\\(1\\)","boolean");
    line = line.replaceAll("text\\(-1\\)","text");
    line = line.replaceAll("float8\\(8\\)","float8");
    I'm using 3.3.4.

  • Facebook sets the value of spellchecker.dictionary to ru_RU every time I start entering text (language doesn't matter) in a textbox on FB

    Facebook sets the value of <spellchecker.dictionary> to <ru_RU> every time I start entering text (language doesn't matter) in a textbox on FB.
    FF: Firefox 20.0 - Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint
    OS: Linux Mint 13
    I haven't noticed any other website I use causing that problem: all of them use the predefined (in prefs.js) value of <spellchecker.dictionary> and don't change it unless I change the speller language manually.
    The only way I can change the value of <spellchecker.dictionary> back to <en_US> is manually choosing English in context menu of a textbox, or editing "prefs.js", every time Facebook messes it up.
    Why does FB always sets <spellchecker.dictionary> to <ru_RU>???
    My default locale is "en-US": <general.useragent.locale> = "en-US".
    Please help.

    Only an extension can do this.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Changing database character set from US7ASCII to AL32UTF8

    Our database is running on Oracle database 10.1.0.4.0 (AIX) The following are its parameters:
    SQL> select value from NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS where parameter='NLS_CHARACTERSET';
    VALUE
    US7ASCII
    We would like to change the database character set to AL32UTF8. After following Metalink notes: 260192.1 (which helped us resolve "Lossy" and "Truncated" data, the final output of the CSSCAN utility is:
    [Scan Summary]
    All character type data in the data dictionary are convertible to the new character set
    All character type application data are convertible to the new character set
    [Data Dictionary Conversion Summary]
    The data dictionary can be safely migrated using the CSALTER script
    We have no (0) Truncation and Lossy entries on the .txt file. We only have Changeless and Convertible. Now accdg to the documentation, we can do a FULL EXP and FULL IMP. But it did not detail how to do the conversion on the same database. The discussion on the document tells how to do it from one database to another database. But how about on the same database?
    We cannot use CSALTER as stated on the document.
    (Step 6
    Step 12
    12.c) When using Csalter/Alter database to go to AL32UTF8 and there was NO "Truncation" data, only "Convertible" and "Changeless" in the csscan done in point 4:)
    After performing a FULL export of the database, how can we change its character set? What do we need to do the the existing database to change its character set to AL32UTF8 before we import back our dump file into the same database?
    Please help.

    There you are! Thanks! Seems like I am right in my understanding about the Oracle Official Documentation. Thanks!
    Hmmmmm...when you say:
    *"you can do selective export of only convertible tables, truncate the tables, use CSALTER, and re-import."*
    This means that:
    1. After running csscan on database PROD, i will take note of the convertible tables in the .txt output file.
    2. Perform selective EXPORT on PROD (EXP the convertible tables)
    3. Truncate the convertible tables on PROD database
    4. Use CSALTER on PROD database
    5. Re-import the tables into PROD database
    6. Housekeeping.
    Will you tell me if these steps are the correct one? Based on our scenario: This is what i have understood referring to the Official Doc.
    Am i correct?
    I really appreciate your help Sergiusz.

  • How do I change to the English Dictionary in Illustrator CC

    I tried to ask this question in the Illustrator forum, but was forced to CC.
    Illustrator is using a French dictionary instead of English.  All my other CC apps use English.  Any idea where to set the dictionary options for Ilustrator CC?
    Much thanks, April.

    Hi April,
    Can you please confirm whether you installed French version on Illustrator or English?
    Which language is shown in Character panel when you create a new document?
    In general, the language in the Character Palette is the Character-wide property , it is not a Document-wide property.
    If you want to change the language of the complete document , select all the text and then change the language in the Character palette.
    The language shown in the Character Palette is the Spell-check language.

  • Compression/Deflater reusing dictionary

    Hello,
    I have a well known fairly large dictionary (10's of Kb of data) that can be used for good compression for even small data sets. I have small data sets (100-2000 bytes) which I want to be compressed quickly.
    This works:
    public class DictionaryCompressor{
        byte[] dictionaryBytes;
        public DictionaryCompressor(byte[] _dictionaryBytes){
            dictionaryBytes=_dictionaryBytes;
        public byte[] compress(byte[] original) {
            Deflater compresser = new Deflater();
            compresser.setDictionary(dictionaryBytes);
            compresser.setInput(original);
            compresser.finish();
            byte[] output=new byte[...];
            int compressedLength = compresser.deflate(output);
            compresser.end();
            byte[] output=...;//resize to compressedLength
            return output;
    }However, since the dictionary is fairly large and speed is an issue, it is a bummer that it seems like I have to re-set the dictionary for every new set of data I need to compress. I haven't found any other libraries either that allows reusing a dictionary.
    1. Do you know any library that can reuse a dictionary for multiple compressions?
    2. Is there any dirty trick I can do with the existing Sun Deflater to achieve this?
    What I would like would be this:
    public class DictionaryCompressor{
        Deflater compresser;
        public DictionaryCompressor(byte[] _dictionaryBytes){
            compresser = new Deflater();
            compresser.setDictionary(_dictionaryBytes);
        public byte[] compress(byte[] original) {
            compresser.resetToDictionary();//resets but keeps the dictionary
            compresser.setInput(original);
            compresser.finish();
            byte[] output=new byte[...];
            int compressedLength = compresser.deflate(output);
            byte[] output=...;//resize to compressedLength
            return output;
    }Thanks

  • Adding Custom Dictionary using Javascript

    Hi All,
    We have created a javascript to spellcheck the PDF using the inbuilt dictionary.
    Now we got a request to add a custom Medical dictionary to Adobe Acrobat.
    Is that possible to add a custom dictionary to Adobe Acrobat using Javascript.
    I have gone through the "Javascript for Adobe API Reference.pdf".
    But there is no reference for adding a full set of dictionary to it.
    spell.customDictionaryCreate("javascript", "en", true);
    function GetJSTerms(bm, nLevel) { var newWord = bm.name.match(re);
    var ckWord = spell.checkWord( newWord[0] );
    if ( ckWord != null ) { var cWord = spell.addWord( newWord[0], "JavaScript");
    if ( cWord ) console.println( newWord[0] );
    } if (bm.children != null) for (var i = 0; i < bm.children.length; i++) GetJSTerms(bm.children[i], nLevel + 1);
    } console.println("\nAdding New words to the \"JavaScript\" " + "dictionary:");
    var re = /^\w+/; GetJSTerms(this.bookmarkRoot, 0);
    Would this task is achievable through javascript, please advice.
    Shaji

    Thank for the response. We have a medical dictionary with us. Which contains all the words, how do I add the full dictionary with the addWord functionality. Is there is any option to load the dictionary file through scripting. Shaji

  • Cannot change dictionary language in pages anymore...

    Before Yosemite you just need to go to Inspector > Text > More > Language and change the language. Now, with Yosemite, you cannot do it since does not appear a Language options anymore. Anybody knows how to solve it?
    Thanks
    Guilherme

    In Pages 5 you can set the dictionary in Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar.

  • Pervasive USA dictionary

    I have the UK dictionary set in "Dictionary" and in "Auto correct" preferences but the spell checker still reverts to "English: USA". Is this a CIA plot? How do I make "English: UK" stick?

    Good thinking 99. I checked my styles and the CIA haven't hacked them, but it seems somehow they have hacked some text imported from that old CIA cover: MS Word. The old US English in the MS Word Document trick. I selected all the text and noticed that "Language" in the Character Palette went blank, so I selected UK English and everything was fine. Sorry about that, Chief.

  • CSSCAN in 11g - Characterset not changing from WE8IMSWIN1252 to AL32UTF8

    All,
    We have installed a 11g database in Linux box and once after that we wanted to change the character set to AL32UTF8 from default WE8MSWIN1252.
    We took the cs-alter approach and ran cs-scan utility, upon going through csscan.txt files generated by csscan utility we found that there are no lossy data but convertible data was found in data dictionary. Below is the output from csscan.txt

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------We followed few metalink documents *Solving Convertible or Lossy data in Data Dictionary objects reported by Csscan when changing the NLS_CHARACTERSET [ID 258904.1]* and found that we are good to go as convertible was found only in data dictionary and that too CLOB data. But while running csalter.plb csalter came out without changing the characterset. We ran the following query given the said document and it returned no rows which again confirms there is no problem and go ahead with running csalter.

    /Sorry to have made the thread so big but to make sure and give a complete picture of the issue pasted the csscan contents. Request the PRO's to help us in this issue.

    You have convertible data in the application tables. CLOB or not, such data prevents csalter.plb from changing the character set.
    You are on 11.2.0.3, so use the DMU (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/globalization/dmu/overview/index.html). It can cope with such data.

  • Command prompt issue from VBscript

    So I have this script that works perfectly for parsing out a COM number and then sending data to said COM port via the command line (things like 'ipconfig > //./COM15'). The issue is that it only works when I use the /K modifier which tells the command
    windows to stay open.  I don't want them to stay open, but whenever I remove the /K, it doesn't work. Nothing gets copied to the COM port. I suspect the cause of this is the command prompt closing before things like systeminfo can finish running. So is
    there a way to have the command prompt window stay open for a short amount of time and then close?
    'Part 1: FindCOM port
    fileName = "C:\rtlstuff\COM.txt"
    Set regex = New RegExp
    regex.Pattern = "COM(\d+)"
    regex.IgnoreCase = True
    regex.Global = True
    Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set file = fso.OpenTextFile(fileName)
    text = file.ReadAll()
    file.Close
    Dim ComPort
    Set matches = regex.Execute(text)
    For Each m In matches
    ComPort = m.SubMatches(0)
    Next
    'Part 2: Set file dictionary
    set oDic = CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary")
    oDic.Add 0, "ECHO %DATE% %TIME% > //./COM"
    oDic.Add 1, "ipconfig > //./COM"
    oDic.Add 2, "systeminfo > //./COM"

    'Part 3: Set COM Variables
    Set oShell = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Shell")
    MODE = "MODE COM" & ComPort & " 9600,N,8,1,P"
    oShell.run "cmd.exe /C" & MODE

    Can you help me with syntax? I'm still not hugely familiar with VB and I'm not sure how to set this up. This current iteration does not work.
