Setting up a country but keeping another default language

I want to set my country in my iPad to where I live in Israel , but that makes hebrew the default language when downloading apps and etc , how can I set up my ipad to Israel while keeping the default language in english

You already know how to set your country to Israel.
Once you do that, then:
Settings > General > International > Language = "English".
Settings > General > Keyboards = "English".

Trying to change country but keep getting "You have at least one incomplete pass. Passes must be completed before you change stores" How do i complete passes

I have the same problem. I found the passes page but it does not show how to complete the passes.
BTW This is ridiculous. All I did was click an itunes link to an song I heard on a website and iTunes said, "This artist is in not in your countries iTunes store. Would you like to switch to another store to purchase?" I clicked yes and now I can't upgrade my apps, I can't switch back, I can't do anything.
    Things I've tried:
    • Turning on / off email notifications and clicking save.
    • There is nothing else I can do on this page.

  • Installing Arch but keeping another OS's grub menu

I installed Arch with the help of the beginners' guide on a 'spare' partition on my machine, which also have another 4 OSs installed. As I wanted one of the others' grub menu to be the 'active' one I skipped the grub installation part - in fear of messing up the grub menu, and hoping that the update-grub command (from within the 'active' OS) would pick Arch up.
This it didn't and I assume it is because I DIDN'T install grub in Arch (?) but could someone just tell me how I can safely do that but still keeping the other OS's grub as the main one.
At one point in the guide it says to install grub in /dev/sda; would I be safe if I installed it in /dev/sda10 (which is the Arch partition) instead?
Will I have to go through the whole installation process again? Or can I start Arch up (perhaps with the help of the CD?) and 'jump in' and carry on where I left off?

I dual boot Arch and Ubuntu. I did NOT install Grub from Arch Install. After installing Arch, I rebooted Ubuntu and updated GRUB. Then I changed the default OS to Arch from /etc/default/grub.
My rationale behind this was Ubuntu being a 6 monthly release compared to Rolling Arch, I had to install and reinstall ubuntu every 6 months and I didn't want any mishaps with Grub during this.
You probably forgot to update grub in the distro that is handling your Boots. If updating Grub does not show Arch then mount the Arch Partition and then update grub. [However the Grub version in Ubuntu 13.04 has fixed this and I don't have to mount Arch any more].
EDIT: By the way, not installing Grub means that Grub is not installed in the MBR. All the necessary files required to boot arch will be there in the Arch install.

  • Trying to set up time capsule but keep getting message stating airport utility was unable to find any airport wireless device. What do I do know?

Trying to set up my time capsule on my imac.
Keep getting message "Airport utility was unable to find any airport wireless devices."
    What do I do now?

When having difficulties accessing the Time Capsule (TC) via the AirPort Utility, try the following, in order checking accessibility with the utility after each step:
Check the local connection. If you are trying to access the TC wirelessly, make sure that you are connected to its wireless network before running the AirPort Utility to administer it. If you are still unable to access it with the utility, temporarily connect your computer directly using an Ethernet cable to one of the TC's LAN ports.
Power cycle the base station. Remove the power adapter's plug from the power outlet, and then, wait 15 seconds before plugging it back in.
Perform a "factory default" reset on the base station.
Finally, if you are attempting to access the TC via an Ethernet connection, be sure that your Ethernet port is NOT configured for Jumbo Frames, i.e., using an MTU of 9000+.

  • I set up ITunes etc. but keep getting the same error message: itunes cant connect ....error

I'm getting very annoyed. Last night I bought an Ipod Touch for my son's birthday today. Tried to set it up last night...no go. I figured I was just tired and thought to try again this morning. I hooked the Touch up to my PC (running WIn7 Ultimate), downloaded the latest ITunes and set up "my" Apple ID. The fact I had to use my Visa was another annoyance. I set up HomeShare on his and my PCs and figured I'd activate the IPod from his PC, because it said on the acct. page that you could activate the acct. on only one computer. I plugged it in and got the " usb to itunes" image on the ipod screen, opened Itunes, checked for updates and it was the latest version. It said I have activated it on 2/5 PCs and before I could do anything else, I got the error message: " iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000065)" which pops up everytime. Still haven't seen the "app screen" on the ipod. I must say I'm rather disappointed with Apple after hearing how good it is. Doubt if I'll ever buy a Mac PC. They seem to be worse than MS for proprietary bs. If I can't get this working soon it's goin back.If anyone has had the same problem, I'd appreciate any feedback Thanks.

Have a look at the articles mentioned  here:http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Unknown Error containing "0xE" when restoring: To resolve this issue, follow the steps in iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Unknown error containing '0xE' when connecting. If you have a Windows computer with an Intel® 5 series/3400 series chipset, you may need updates for your chipset drivers. • In one country but not another?

Hi I'm new to all of this, But i was desperately wanting to perchase an EP from one of my favourite artists, Marcus Foster, which was released today, However it is available on the UK iTunes, but not the Australian, where I am.
Is any one able to help?
    Thank-you!!

unfortunately, what you can purchase in any given iTunes store is controlled by the rights-owners of the content. you could try downloading that EP from amazon or another online music store.

  • Iit is setting date and time but keeps going in circle . but never sets up

Try to use apple tv. But when turn it on. It is setting Date and time? But the cursur is just going around and around and nothing happen for a while. It doesnt set the time or date, so can watch apple tv.?why?

I have had this frustrating problem twice.  Combinations of resets, restores, restarts of routers etc have been generally unsuccessful.
My Apple TV2 has full internet connectivity (through a internet cable, connected to a D-Link gigabit switch, connected to a Generation 4 Apple Time Capsule, connected to a high speed Comcast ARRIS modem).
The Apple TV2 works well with AirPlay, Youtube, HD movie trailers, HomeSharing music and photos, etc, but won't connect to NetFlix, allow movie rental, or allow iTunes purchased home computer programs to display due to not being conneted to an iTunes account.
And I can't connect to the iTunes store because the "time and date cannot be set".
Note that my iMac is connected to the same gigabit switch as my Apple TV2 and it can automatically set time and date, just fine.  I tested by turning off the auto set, setting the wrong time, then turning it back on and having the system time and date properly reset... twice!
This time, my problem was solved by going into the Time Capsule, changine IPv6 setting from HOST to "Local Link".  The Apple TV2 immediately knew the time and was able to connect to the iTunes store.
I recall that last time I "fixed" this problem, I changed that same setting from Local-Link to Host.
I agree with lagoed, Apple should fix this vexing problem, the sooner the better.

Yes. You can switch locations. Your existing #s won't be affected.
TIME ZONE - US EASTERN. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.
I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac
If my advice helped to fix your issue please mark it as a solution to help others.

  • HT204370 Is it possible to change my purchase to the same cartoon, but with another spoken language?

I bought the movie Cars for my kids on my apple tv. It was the english version, but I thought it was possible to change the spoken language to Danish. It wasn't. Now it seems I should have bought a different version of the film; the danish version. Is it possible to change my purchase?

Is the Danosh version available in your country's store (what languages a film is in should be on its description page in the store) ? Purchases are considered, but you can try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support and see what they say (we are fellow users on here) : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • How to set the default language in preferences- dictionary- language

    Hi guys,
i like to set the default dictionary language as well as the lookup path of the dictionary via script. I've found the property dictionary path as well as some settings for qoutation under languages with vendors:
    app.languagesWithVendors[INDEX OF LANGUAGE].name
    app.languagesWithVendors[INDEX OF LANGUAGE].dictionaryPaths
Thats fine, but how can it set a certain language with vendor as the default language for the application itself? Under the Preferences->Dictionary dialog, I can find a dropdown showing the default language. But how can I access this default or set it?
The application object has a property object called dictionaryPreferences, but this object only contains some flags like the merge behaviour but not the default language itself. So where is it?
    app.dictionaryPreferences.mergeUserDictionary
    Menue
    Dialog
    API

    Ok guys,
in the meantime I think I got it. I can setup  several dictionaries for several languages. Depending on the language I use in my paragraph styles the according dictionary will be used. Fine for the desktop.
But what about the InDesign Server! I use the server via scripting and SOAP ports, webservice calls. I've launched several webservice ports, like 10001,10002,10003,10004. In this case, I can set up a vendor dictionary by providing a path via script send to one port 10001 for example. But here are two problems:
    1. The other InDesign Server instances aka webservice ports and engines won't get informed about the change. I have to run the script on all instances.
    2. The change only lives as long as the instance is running but doesn't get saved. After restart the instance, the setup got lost.
So can I save the dictionary-setup with an pref-xml file, all InDesign Server instances would use and read per default?

  • Possible to reset TC but keep backups?

I recently moved and took my laptop and TC with me, but the documentation (including wireless network name and password) is being shipped and won't arrive for several weeks. I've since set up an internet connection without the TC, so I have to plug in the Ethernet cable into my laptop. I would like to reset the TC so the old network set up is deleted, but keep all the data connected with the backups I've made in the past. Is this possible? If so, how?

Doing a reset of a Time Capsule shouldn't disturb the data in its internal drive.
When you try to connect that Time Capsule to your broadband modem, you'll probably have to reset the modem in some way to convince it to connect to a "new" device.  The reset method depends on the modem, but removing power for several minutes works for a lot of them.

  • Default language in business one.

The IT department purchased a couple of 64-bit machines running windows 7 pro. One of the machines is reverting the default language to czech as our implementer was a jerk when he updated our system before he quit on our partner. We are running in 2007 pl35. Is there a way to fix this to keep the default language english as each time the user has to change the language.

  • How do I transfer all photos from my Imac, IPhoto version 7.1.5, to another Imac, IPhoto version 9.2, but keep the two sets of photos separate

How do I transfer all photos from my Imac, IPhoto version 7.1.5, to another Imac, IPhoto version 9.2, but keep the two sets of photos separate

You need to clarify what you are asking.
An iphoto installation has two major parts: 1. The application or program - that's the software and 2. The Library - that's where your actual pictures are.
    So when you say:
I want to keep using the old Iphoto program on the new Imac.  There is already an IPhoto program on the new Imac but I do not want to add or delete from that one.
It sounds like you want to move the application and not the Library. Most folks want to move the Library, and it makes no sense to have two versions of the application on your mac.

  • HT1373 how can you set up another iTunes account but keep all your purchases and music from a previous account

how can you set up another iTunes account but keep all your purchases and music from a previous account

An iTunes account is something you log into online to buy music.
An iTunes library is a collection of media and other items (including apps) on your computer.  This is what you see when you open iTunes.
So, do you mean account or library?  You can set up a new iTunes account but all your purchases made in that account will remain in the old account and cannot be moved.  You can set up a new library by starting iTunes and immediately hold down the option key.
