Setting up a full contextual search from within folders,document libraries or lists.

Hi Everybody
I have been loooking through all the availdable answers but so far have not seen anything that is wholly relevant to my problem.
I have set up a search on sharepoint 2013 that seems to be working 100% and does a full contextual search from sites and sub-site. My problem is that the client requires a full contextual search to be working from any folder, document library or list. In
other words, if the user is in that specific folder, only results from that folder should come up when doing a search.
I think that maybe the secret is in writing the proper kql script that will automatically incorporate the folder,document library or list name ? Any assistance with setting up the needed variables or maybe pointing me in another direction.....
If possible, I need to do this without any coding ......

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to confine the search result to the specific document library or a folder.
I recommend to create a new Result Sources and use {searchTerms} path:http://SERVER/SITE/LIBRARY to limit the scope. Then configure the search page to use the new created Result Sources.

How to disable the 'Read Only' notification on an Access document when it is opened from within a document library (SP 2010)

OK, so I am currently having issues with opening MS Access documents from SP 2010. I have taken an existing database and uploaded it into a document library. Now, when I open this document I get the prompt to open it in either 'Read Only' or 'Edit'.
When I select 'Read Only' I can view the document, however I get the 'Read Only - Save As' notification when the document opens up. I have configured the document both from the source (on the original file) and from within SP to disable notifications - (from
within the Trusted Options selection)
Deleted the document and uploaded it again, and the 'yellow bar' notification is still appearing.
I want to disable the 'Save As' function, or even hide this when the document is opened. Is this at all possible??

According to your description, my understanding is that you don’t want the yollow bar notification to display when you open Access documents.
This issue seems to be about the client application. Please compare the followings with the things that you did:
1.Open the documents
2.Click File->Options->Trust Center->Trust Center Settings
3.Click Protected View, unselect ‘Enable Protected View for originating from the Internet’
4.Click Message Bar, select ‘Never show information about blocked content’
5.Click Macro Settings, select ‘Disable all macros without notification’
In addition, as this issue is about Office, I commend you create a new thread in Office forum, more experts will assist you with this issue.

Unable to print from within safari, documents are blank.

When I try to print a PDF document from within Safari the pages are blank. I can print directly from Reader.

As I recall, there were two separate updates for AppleWorks, one for OS 9 and one for OS X. You should make sure that you have the proper one. For OS X, the version should be 6.2.9. I am not sure if that will help you, but a proper installation is always a good idea. You might want to ask in the AppleWorks forum, if that does not solve the problem.
Oh, and check your fonts. Some fonts that worked with OS 9 cause problems with OS X.

Search not crawled some document libraries

Hi All,
Recently we were reset the index after that we ran the search full crawl.the problem is only one site collection under 10 document libraries was not indexed.
we have 25 site collection.under problem is one site collection http://abc.com/site15/ in that number of lists and 10 document libraries is there.
the problem is search was not crawled those 10 document libraries.
what we did we created new document library, we copied those items in that document library. again we ran full crawl.
but search was not crawled new document library also.
Kindly give me suggestion.

Display data from multiple document Libraries in List View Webpart

Hi All,
I want to display data from multiple document libraries into one list view webpart(custom i have created)

but it tells to display only from one document library.
My motive behind displaying data in the list view webpart is to achieve the functionality of Check In ,Check Out and other OOB features.

As there is no such OOTB feature, a workaround is to create a visual web part to gather items from libraries and implement functionalities like Check in, Check out files
in different libraries.

Full text search from external application

I've a requrement to seach (full-text) for documents kept at a UCM server from an outside application (say Java) . I've enabled full-text seach on the UCM server.
Could anyone please guide me the process I need to go through for this.
How could I use the wsdl provided for search for this purpose.

Google Search from Within Safari

I was wondering if there was a way to turn ON Search when entering info in the google search box (not URL) within Safari. Like in Firefox it will give you searches based on your spelling. I want it like that in Safari. Any ideas?

If you mean suggestions as you type in the search bar, then the closest I can match is a plugin called Inquisitor (inquisitorx.com).

Visual search unable to search entire catalog from within folders

Photoshop Elements used to let you search your entire catalog while looking at photos in folders. That option does not seem to exist now. Is there a way to get this feature back, or a workaround to use it? I have over 800k photos and growing on my system. For example all my files are sorted by yyyy-mm-dd, I used to be able to be looking at "x" photo in folder 2002-01-05 and tell it to search entire catalog for visually similar photos. I've seen "x" photo in a different folder and want to search catalog for the duplicate. The only way I have found to do this now is through import batches--that's like finding a needle in a haystack with all the photos I have. That was a great feature as I had been able to date photos that I didn't know date on because of the visual similarity option and find duplicates easily.

The option was in the preferences section, you could search just that folder or entire catalog.

Sorry I did not respond as I do not appear to be receiving notifications.
I have been doing some more testing around this and find that files over 10gb tend to fail almost immediately where as a 2gb file will get 1/4 of the way through.
My work around is my server has apache ftp server running on it so I use FTP at present (filezilla client). This yields positive results every time and the 10gb file completes in about 4 minutes with mean average speeds of ~20MiB/s (sometimes exceeding 60MiB/s
depending on other network activity) utilising 20-50% of my NIC capability.
There is obviously no issue with disk access or network performance, it appears to be an issue with the copy/paste functionality of Windows 7 itself rather than the use of any APIs by other applications.
I ran the 2 concurrently today and I was seeing much slower transmit times when it was running using windows copy/paste (5-10MB/s) however resouce manager was showing network usage of 30%. Could it be a TCP/IP timeout issue where copy/paste is using an unrealistic
value?
Another run shows copy/paste using an expected amount of 20% while processing at 18MB/s. Still failed.

Searching files within folders

Hi,
lets say i have a directory in finder for example mac os>music>r&b albums>2008
if i am in the r&b albums directory, if i type 'usher' in the top right search box, surely it would make sense to only search the directory i am in (r&b albums) and any sub directories within that (2008 folder for example), like windows explorer does? why does it do a system wide search? i can do that in spotlight if i wanted to.
I only want to find the results in that folder and any sub folders contained within it. basically whatever folder i am in, i want that to be the ceiling folder, i dont want the search results to go beyond that. is this possible?
bascially i want it to do the search like windows explorer does. and the first person that tells me that this is how macs work and if i dont like it go back to windows is gonna get a virtual punch in the face!

I'm not sure I'm following you. Here is the results of selecting the Music folder in a Finder window. The second screenshot is the result of typing one letter in the search field of the first window. The thing I've done to produce the different screen is type "e" in the search field. I did not go back and highlight Music. You will note that the music folder in what is being searched.
Maybe you can give a step by step of what your doing and what view option are you using.

When searching files within folders does not show all? Plz help

This problem occured recently, few days back.
When searching a name or extention it does now show all the files with the same name or extention?

Figured it out I used straight serial cable. put null modem adapter solved the problem.

"full acrobat search" issue....

When I do an "full acrobat search" from within Acrobat, I select a folder to search in that contains thousands of PDF OCRed files.
When it completes my search, I get the message "search has skipped 313 files because they are corrupt" -- how do I know which files, out of the thousands, are corrupt?? I can deal with the corrupted files, but have no idea which ones they are, short of attempting to open each file, 1 by 1, of the thousands...

However it is possible when I open a pdf document with "Internet Explorer". The search window appears in the same window and I can go with the key "down" or "up" over the pdf document.

Can you set PDF zoom level when exporting from ID?

I do many documents for proof and regardless of how the end user is going to view them, I like them to open as a full page ("Fit Page" zoom level) - I want the viewer to get the overall impact of the layout before they see just the top half or upper corner.
Right now, I export from ID and have to manually set the zoom level in Properties from within Acrobat Pro. Is there ANY way to set a default export zoom level to save this step, which I have to do many times on most days?

Trex "synonym search" and taxonomy "search from here" issues

Hi Trex experts
I have two minor issues regarding Trex and Taxonomies

I have created a Taxonomy and need to add the search from here function so its possible to create a more specific search from within one are of the taxonomy.
When I add a layout set where this command is enabled then its not shown.
I guess that its my repository manager for the Trex repository that I need to add a service to, but I cant figure out which one, or is this feature not possible for taxonomies?

Is it possible to define synonym search entries? Like I need to create a dependency on a bunch of terms, like when a user for example search for vacation then search for holiday should be included automatically in the search result as well. Is there some kind of configuration file where I can add a list of dependencies?

Related to taxonomy, the answer is yes it is possible.
If "search from here" botton is not shown, is due to you don't create an index (search option).

Referencing a source datagrid from within a drag and drop handler

My application implements a drag and drop between two datagrids.
I would like to keep track of how many times a particular row in the source datagrid has been dragged to the target.
The drag and drop handler should increment a DataGridColumn in the source datagrid row each time this happens.
I can't figure out a way to refer back to the source datagrid and set a value in its dataprovider from within the drag and drop handler function.
The source datagrid is in a module and the target datagrid in in a popup called from the module. The function below is in the popped up custom component.
