Setting up a second calendar in Apple Calendar

Hey there
As a recent convert to a MacBook Air - I used Outllook 2011 for a few weeks till I realized that it was basically incompaltible with Apple!
So I canned MS-Outlook last weekend, I have this working with my gmail address through iCloud - but how do I set up my calendar to operate send & using receive my work email address?
I tried to create a new iCloud identity at [email protected], that didn't work.....I have lots of events (past and future) that I imported from my PC Outlook that I don't want to lose. So I need to set up a work email (done), connect that to a work calendar (a challenge) then import my existing appointments into that calendar I guess. btw we are only a small company, we don't have either a company calendar server nor MS-Exchange or any equivalent!!
I am new to this, Mac's are great - but not intuitive to ex-PC converts! So please assume I can follow instructions, preferably simple instructions!!

You probably want to publish the calendar. That would be done by activating WebDAV on the server and then publishing the calendar from within the client.

You really don't want to do that, operate an iPad with 2 different ID's.
I'm presuming you have a work iPad and you want to put some non work bought apps on it. You will have issues, like half the iPad not working while the other half does.
Probably not something you want to explain to your IT department.

Then in iCal on your phone, tap Calendars (upper left) and make sure the US Holidays calendar is checked, then tap Don (upper right).

How do I get events that I set up on my calendar to appear on my calendar?

I can enter events on my calendar, but the event never shows up on my calendar. Therefore I cannot view it after setting it up.
I do get reminders for these events, so they are set up on the calendar. I just can't view them or change them if I need to do so.

Open the calendar - then at the bottom today - calendars - inbox - select calendars - see what calendar is checked.

You should each sign up for iCloud (free):

You can then each sync your calendars to iCloud by going to System Preferences>iCloud and checking 'calendars'.
Now one of you can privately share a calendar with write privileges to the other:

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

Please go to SCAL and then Public Holidays and then change and then inside the screen select the public holidays that have been wrongly assigned and then click on change now ur public holidays class and rest details comes up so change as per ur requirement.

How to sync a second calendar

I have an 8830 running 4.5 in a BES/Exchange environment. I'm not the admin, so I don't know the version of the BES nor Exchange.
I understand that 4.5 now supports multiple calendars, so I have created a second calendar on my Exchange account. All works well in Outlook in that I can see/manage both calendars.   In OWA, the second calendar shows up as a sub-folder to the primary calendar.
My question is how do I get this second calendar to wirelessly sync with my BB?  In Desktop Manager 5.0, when you configure the Advanced Calendar Sync options, you are able to select the "Include Subfolders" option. I've selected this and it indicates that I have two folders (ie. the primary and the secondary calendars) enabled for syncronization.
I don't see the second calendar on my BB.   What am I missing?

You can add and remove delegates.

the attendee participation status cannot be set to ACCEPTED via Calendar SDK API call storeEvents() if the user creating the appointment is not the owner of the calendar.
Can you confirm that there is currently no other way to set the value of the attendee participation status via the SDK?

An attendee's attendance status can only be set by that attendee. However, for external attendees who are not calendar users, the owner of the meeting may set their attendance status.

To change a secondary account to a primary account do the following:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Delete the secondary account. (This only deletes if from your iPad, not from iCloud)
Tap the Back button.
Tap iCloud.
Delete the primary account. (This only deletes it from your iPad, not from iCloud. Your son's iPad will not be effected by this.)
Add the secondary account that you want to be your primary account.

Typically you have an Apple ID for each individual. But if you do this, you can't share documents on the same iCloud account - it's not designed to be used this way.
If you sign in with the same iCloud account on each machine and use iCloud for email/calendar/contacts/messages then YES everyone will see each other's email and calendar, etc.
So you need to use separate iCloud accounts for each machine, and use something else (i.e. Dropbox or Box) to share files.
