Setting up air printer on non-supported printer using vista os

how to set up air printer on non-supported printer using vista os

Best, as with beauty, is in the eye of the user.
Not sure if Epson has an app avaialble, but there are a number of them. Check the capabilities and reviews. Some printing apps have more capabilities that others.

  • 9.2 / Printing to non-supported printers

    Hey guys...
I've started using my iBook G3 (os 9.2.2) to type papers in Appleworks 5. (Not as many distractions!) But I have encountered a problem, my printer is not supported by OS 9 and to my knowledge, no OS 9 drivers exist for it.
It is a Canon Pixma MP150.. and connected via. USB connection. I read somewhere you can make it into a postscript printer or such and print, but I'm not 100% sure on how to set that up.
    Thanks!

If you have another Mac OS X Mac that does have the driver, plug the Printer in there and Share it via
System Preferences > Sharing > Printer Sharing.
Note the IP Address of the Mac that has the Printer (Over the long term, you may want to assign a Manual IP Address to that Mac if it changes too often.) You will also need the Queue Name.
On the OS 9 Mac on the same network, use Desktop Printer Utility to create a DeskTop Printer that uses Generic Postscript and IP Printing and enter the IP Address of the Mac holding the Shared Printer and the Queue name.
To print, use the Chooser to Choose that Desktop Printer and use Generic Postscript.
HT2974- Mac OS X: Sharing a printer with Mac OS 9 computers
The example in this article uses 127.0.0.1 IP Address without explanation. That is the "loop back to yourself" IP address that would allow you to do this same trick on one Mac using Classic, and passing the print data off to Mac OS X from Classic.

  • CS3 v CS2 quality of print to non-PS printer

I went over to CS3 about 18 months ago and use print so little I've never resolved this issue.
I have a greyscale image that prints perfectly to an old HP laserjet 6L printer from CS2, just using the embedded document profile and no fiddling with anything.
From the same laptop (running Vista) to the same printer on CS3, the print looks like a draft (despite there not being a setting anywhere I can find). The print dialog scale to media area (which isn't checked) says it's going to print at 600dpi. I think I've tried changing everything I can in the CS3 dialog settings but nothing has made a difference.
I have checked that all the printer driver settings are the same in both cases. The driver print quality is set to 600dpi.
Any suggestions gratefully received! If I can resolve this, I'll be able to uninstall CS2 at last.

A file which has the problem is at:
    http://www.wlv.ac.uk/PDF/uow-direct-app-home.pdf
It has substituted the "Adobe Serif MM" font -
Is this a problem with Acrobat on Leopard? That PDF's without Embedded fonts do not deprecate properly to showing/printing the Substitute fonts?

  • Print to non postscript printer

can i print from adobe illustrator cs 6 to a non postscript printer?

    Thanks gentlemen!
I just move to Singapore from the US. In the US I have always had Postscript enabled printers either in the printer or via driver.
The big brands [Epson, HP, Canon] don't sell the same printers models here and finding a Postscript enabled printer is like finding a needle in a digital haystack.
Also the people that work for those companies locally, don't even seem to know the capabilties of their own devices.
They only know what they can read off the box.

  • IPad printing to non AirPrint printer???

Is there a way to print from ipad to a non AirPrint printer?
I have a HP OfficeJet Pro L7680 which works fine with my PC but I don't want to buy a new printer.
Is there an app for this or adaptors which could work?
    thank, peter

    Hello Pedhed36,
I've included a link below with ePrint info.  (eMail addy, etc.)  Good Luck!
To find your HP ePrint email address:
Go to ePrintCenter and log into your account, you will see your email address in the ePrint panel.
    Look for the ePrint icon:
For Photosmart: On the printer's front panel display, touch Wireless>Web Services>Display Email, or if available on your device, touch the ePrint icon on the printer front panel.
For Officejet: On the printer's front panel display, touch the ePrint icon (4.3” display only) to display the email address or Setup>Web Services Setup>Printer Email Address to reprint the information sheet.
Photosmart Only: If you register your printer at ePrintCenter.com, your email address displays on the ePrint panel.
For LaserJet: On the printer's front panel display, touch the ePrint icon or “How to Connect” to display the email address. For LaserJet printers with the small 2 line display, please print out the information sheet to see the email address.

  • HT4259 We decided to set the Air Port Express in a room using only the power outlet and relying on the existing wifi signal...we have a verizon modem and didn't want to mess with connecting the Air port express directly to the verizon device.  It didn't w

I bought a Air Port Express device from Apple yesterday.  We decided to set the Air port device in a room near the router to use as a wifi extender to areas of the house where the signal is weak.  In our discussion with Josh, the Apple Rep.  he explained how it can either be connector to the router or use in another room relying on the existing wifi signal to extend it further into the house.  We have verizon DSL.  Our town is very small...no cable provided so we are lucky to have what we have...some areas of our town can't even get what we have.  We, didn't want to connect it directly to the Verizon device (router)....we followed the directions from Josh as well as the explicit directions provided by Apple support...it didn't work. We keep getting an error message.  Does anyone have any advice ?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Please speak in "Laymen's terms"  I am not technically savy....but..am determined to get this set up.  Thanks to anyone, in advance!
    Signed,
    MEAbeep

In our discussion with Josh, the Apple Rep.  he explained how it can either be connector to the router or use in another room relying on the existing wifi signal to extend it further into the house.
Unfortunately, it appears that Josh was not aware that the AirPort Express can only "extend" a wireless signal from another Apple router.
    From Apple's literature:
Extend an existing Wi-Fi network’s range.
If you already have a wireless network in your home and want to extend its range, AirPort Express can help. Just place it in range of your primary base station — an AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule, or another AirPort Express — and near the area where you want your wireless connection. Launch the easy-to-use AirPort Utility app on your iOS device or Mac, and you’re mere minutes away from long-range Wi-Fi enjoyment.
The AirPort Express is not compatible with a Verizon product for this purpose.
Your might want to have another conversation with Josh to ask his advice on how best to proceed at this point.
If you do decide to keep the AirPort Express, it will be necessary to connect it to your Verizon router using a wired Ethernet cable connection if you want the Express to provide more wireless signal coverage.

  • Problem with printing checks from quicken 2004 - using Vista (32bit) and Officejet J6480

I have used my quicken 2004 version with my old XP with no problems and HP officejet J6480 All-in-One.  Just got a new computer and everything was going great until I went to print checks - it prints one line and then stops printing.  I assume the problem is with the Vista - is the Quicken 2004 too old?

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that you cannot print checks with Quicken, when using your HP Officejet Pro 6830e all-in-one on iOS. I am happy to take a look into this issue for you! Some questions for you: What version of iOS are you using? If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos. What happens when you try to print in TextEdit? Are you able to make copies with the printer? • Air Mobile Apps cannot support printing ?

    Dear all,
I am developing a writing notes application in Flex Mobile Apps for android and ios.
How can i allow use to print out the notes written?
Anyone can guide me how to achieve the printing to the printer?

I think you will have to extend your project by using Native Extensions, since that functionality is not built into AIR mobile. To learn more about ANEs, visit http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/developing-native-extensions-air.html

  • Printing with non-postscript printer

Can anyone tell me how to get my graphic images to print
clean without pixels on my Canon Pixma pro 9000 printer from
    Freehand MX?

If it's a postscript issue, you can try exporting as a PDF
    first and then
    print that.
Otherwise, perhaps your images are just low resolution?

  • How to print on a non supported AirPrint printer

We have a wireless HP 6300 inkjet printer.

It's possible to use free software (Virtualbox and Ubuntu) to fix the broken iOS 5 Airprint printing with non supported printers.  Here's a fix that works on my imac, but should also work on even a windows pc.
My setup is a lion imac with 2 non-airprint supported usb printers attached, a belkin wifi router that provides network connectivity for my imac, ipad, and iphone.
Install ubuntu 11.10 in a virtualbox vm.  Specify to use the "Bridged Adapter" with "en1: WiFi (AirPort)" for the network hardware.  Make sure the imac's usb printers are setup with sharing.  On ubuntu, select System Settings > Printers and add your imac's shared printers to the list.  Then start ubuntu's firefox and set "localhost:631" in the address. On the administration tab, under the Server section, check "Share printers connected to this system" and hit Change Settings button to activate it.  Go back to ubuntu's printer setup, and right click on each printer and check that the properties Policies tab does not have any messages about it being unshared. If so, then go back to firefox and make sure the Server sharing checkbox is enabled. It may help to reboot.
Fire up virtualbox to be able to use AirPort printing to your imac's usb printers, when you want to print from the iphone or ipad. This also works on iOS 5.
Only problem is error message from iphone to check the printer for errors, even though it actually prints ok.

  • Can you print from an iPad to non wireless printer connected to timecapsule

I just purchase an iPad. Can I print to non wireless printer connected to timecapsule? If yes, what app do I need for the iPad?

You might want to take a look at Print Central or Printopia.
PrintCentral for iPad on the iTunes App Store
Printopia - AirPrint to Any Printer - Print from iPad - Print from iPhone ...
I can verify that Printopia works just fine for me on my iPad, but haven't tried Print Central.

The router is a Linksys WRTU54G-TM. The Ipad recognizes the printer and spools the print job but there is no action at the printer. E-Print works.

Thank you everyone. I figured it out. I thought that you can use regular paper to print pictures from photos on Ipad. This is not possible. I was able to use regular print paper to print from my mail. My problem is solved!!
