  • How to replace ENTERPRISE Server Option by BB Internet Service Option?

    On my 8700 there is the ENTERPRISE Server option installed.
    As I want to vsend and receive emails from different email account without making use of the BB Enterprise geature I would like to get rid of the Enterprise-program installed and replace it by the Internet Service option.
    I wonder whether this would be possible.
    Can I replace Enterprice feature by the normal Internet Service?? and how?
    Thank you for any information

    Hi there!
    The options you are presented with when you start the email configuration wizard are controlled by virtue of the account type you have with your carrier. Given what you describe, it sounds as if you have perhaps on a generic data plan (or perhaps no data plan at all) -- that is normally not sufficient to grant you access to the Blackberry Internet Service that is hosted at your carrier. To enable Personal Email configuration, you must contact your carrier and request what is often (thought not universally) called The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever it is called, you need a plan from your carrier that grants you access to the enhanced Blackberry services that they host - and you must pay them to access those enhanced services. Once you have that proper account, you will have Personal email as a configuration option (note, though, that Enterprise will not be "replaced"...rather, Personal will be added to the screen).
    Good luck and let us know!

  • How to use Internet Service in SE80

    hi
    I am new to  work on ITS on se80, Can any one provide me the step by step screen shots or tutorial to work on Internet Service option on SE80. I want to create a Screen.
    Please kindly share your suggestions
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    What's your ITS version? You can define ITS services using SE80 --> Internet Services or through SICF transaction. You assign several parameters to your service (~transaction, ~webgui, ~generatedynpro, ~webgui_simple_toolbar, ...).
    Look this link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/98/854c2b328911d480a000c04f99fbf0/frameset.htm
    Then you have to verify it and then you can use it. You can also define new theme for your service.
    Hope this helps,
    Iván.

  • Internet Service account setup question

    Hello,
    I have a Blackberry 8520 and have a question about setting up the Internet Service.
    This Blackberry will be used on more than one GSM provider network .. Orange Switzerland and WIND Italy.  Does it matter which network the Blackberry is connected to when I first set up the Internet Service account .. i.e. entering the PIN and IEMI numbers the first time through the provider's Blackberry Internet Service WEB portal .. ?
    Does any special reconfiguration need to be done on the phone when moving from one provider to the other?
    Thanks for any insight you can give me.

  • Message uses a character set that is not supported by the internet service

    Does any one have any advice on how to fix this problem?
    E-mails sent from my iphone 3G periodically arrive in an unreadable form at the recipient. The body of the e-mail has been replaced with the message "This message uses a character set that is not supported by the internet service...." The problem e-mails also include an attachment that contains an unformatted text file containing the original message surrounded by what appears to be lots of formatting data that is displayed as gibberish.
    This occurs sometimes, but not always, even with the same recipients. I am sending e-mail through a G-mail account that is configured on the iphone using IMAP. I have tried the gmail account to use the two available formatting options for mail, but neither fixes the problem.
    I have also upgraded to 2.01 and restored a few times without impact.

    Hi,
    I got somewhat similar problem with special charecters(German umlaud ,,..).
    I create a file with java having special charecters in it. Now if I open this file I am able to view the special charecters in it.But If I attach this file send it using following code then receiver can not see the umlaud charecters in it.They get replaced by _ or ?
    MimeBodyPart mbp2 = new MimeBodyPart();
    FileDataSource fds = new FileDataSource(fileName);
    mbp2.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(fds));
    mbp2.setFileName(output.getName());
    Multipart mp = new MimeMultipart();
    mp.addBodyPart(mbp2);
    msg.setContent(mp);
    Transport.send(msg);
    From you message it looks like you are able to send the mail attachment correctly(by preserving special charecters).
    Can you tell me what might be wrong in my code.
    I appriciate your efforts in advance.

  • Problems setting up email + understanding Pin and BB internet service

    Hi,
    I've been browsing for answers about my new black berry 9700.
    When I try to set up my email on the phone it says. "Your email account is already activated for enterprise use."
    I have no idea what that means.
    I brought the Blackberry pretty much brand new, it was used for like a day.
    the problem with that is I've never had a blackberry before and I don't know anything about setting up the email, blackberry internet service, enterprise, and the pin system.
    Also, the other problem is that there are two icons for internet; Browser and WAP. I just want to connect to the internet via my wireless internet and not get charged, and want to know if I am getting charged.
     Please help.

    Shoulda done some reasearch first:
    Using your WiFi router to connect to your 9700, you can use the WiFi hotspot browser ONLY to connect to the internet. You will NOT be able to use the RIM push email, Facebook app, BlackBerry Messenger, Maps, etc.
    You MUST have the BlackBerry Data Plan on your service provider account for that.
    Go to Options > Advanced > Browser and save that to HotSpot Browser.
    Meanwhile, at Manage Connections, search for and connect to your WiFi router and you're set to go for the limited use you'll have.

  • Set up an internet fax service with an iBook G4 for $12

    NOTE: There are plenty of online resources for configuring the elements discussed below. I don't want to write a book so I'll let you look these up for whatever providers and devices you ultimately use.
    For what it is worth, here is my recent experience with my wife's trusty old iBookG4 which keeps on giving. For years now it has been a living room music hub, but once a year or so it gets used to send out a fax as all the newer machines lack the modem.
    Recently I wanted to set up a permanent fax line, but expecting it to not get used much didn't want to invest much. I now have a permenant fax line with internet access for $12.
    The $12 is just the annual cost of a DID number from a voip provider as I already had the necessary bits in use for other purposes, i.e.:
    an iBookG4 (or other older model that can run OS X and has an internal fax modem)
    a Linksys PAP2T ATA device (this is a fax compatible device which converts voip digital signals to analog for older phone systems. The PAP2T has two telephone line ports.)
    STEP 1
    Get yourself a phone number from a solid voip provider (one you can configue online). Set the audio codec to be only whatever your ATA device expects for fax compatibility. For the PAP2T this is G.711. I used voip.ms for the provider, there are others. The business line option is $0.99/month plus whatever time your faxes take -- which I don't expect to be much at $.01/minute. (You may notice that the voip rates are insanely low, this is because services like AT&T and even MagicJack make their money by simplyfing the process which can look intimidating, but in truth almost all default settings will work.) Check online for your service providers required settings. Most will have device configuration samples.
    The essence here is to set up a voip service through an ATA to your iBook. (You don't have to do a voip line, you can go ahead and pay the regular phone company dedicated line rate if you wish. This is the saving money part, not internet functionality.)
    STEP 2
    Get Dropbox onto your iBook and your iPhone, iPad or whatever. Install a VNC app onto your iPhone so you can use the Apple Remote Desktop. The free Mocha VNC Lite app worked fine for me.
    STEP 3
    Go to Print&Fax preferences and click on the + button to create a fax printer as you did in the old days, but this time go Receive Options, turn on Receive faxes on this computer and set Answer to 1 so it responds immediately and Save to: to a Dropbox folder of your choice. (Since my iBook is always plugged in I disabled computer sleep as well in Energy Saver as it also needs to be readily availble to serve music.)
    STEP 4
    Go to Sharing preferences and enable Remore Management. For security I set access to a single dedicated user. Your needs may vary.
    STEP 5
    Make sure your Firewall will pass through VNC or typically port 5900. You have to see what your system requires to enable VNC and Apple Remote Desktop. Also, go into Network preferences, Advanced, and set a DHCP with manual address to ensure your firewall pass through always hits the right machine.
    STEP 6 - Testing
    - Go online to your voip provider and ensure your DID has registered.
    - Create .txt or PDF on whatever machine and copy it to your Dropbox folder.
    - Go to the HP fax test page and follow their instructions to send them a fax and have an automatic fax back.
    - Head off to Starbucks or local wifi spot (you might want to use Hotspot sheild or other encryption). Call up VNC, go into Preview or whatever app and print to fax (IMPORTANT: There is a bug in OS X, since 10.4 I believe, requiring you to turn off the "Receive faxes on this computer" in order to send a fax. Turn it off, send, then go back and turn it on)
    - Leave your VNC app and wait a bit. Soon Dropbox should notify you a file has been placed in your folder.
    There you go Receive and Send faxes on your iPhone wherever you can get wifi. Or, as the civilized world does, send a PDF and let the less advanced send you a fax if they have to.

    Use the instructions in this article to create a new network location; each location has its own set of options and doesn't affect the other locations.

  • I cannot receive email properly now. When I open mail, it says that is downloading about 1,700 emails. At the very end, it gives me my newest ones. But this takes a long time. I've contacted the Internet service provider and verified all the right setting

    I cannot receive email properly on either my IPad or my IPhone. I have had them for over a year and they have always worked fine. Until three days ago, when they both started acting up. On the IPad, when I open mail, it says it is downloading about 1,700 emails. At the very end, which takes quite a while to get to, I finally get the most recent ones. The IPad is sending emails just fine.
    On my IPhone, when I open mail, it says it is downloading 100 emails, but it doesn't do that. And it gives me no new emails at all. The IPhone is sending email just fine.
    I have already deleted the email accounts on both devices and reinstalled them. I've contacted the Internet service provider and verified all the right settings. The Outlook email on my desktop is working perfectly.

    WMV is a heavily-compressed format/CODEC, and the processing time will depend on several factors:
    Your CPU, which is not that powerful in your case
    Your I/O sub-system, which is likely a single HDD on your laptop
    The source footage. What is your source footage?
    Any Effects added to that footage. Do you have any Effects?
    Each of those will have an impact on the time required.
    The trial has only one main limitation - the watermark. Now, there are some components, that have to be activated, but are not with the trial, but they would be evident with Import of your source footage, if it's an issue.
    Good luck,

  • I've already set up an email through my B;ackberry Internet Service. I want to change my email client settings to leave messages on the server. although I am using somebody's pc., can I do it? Please help. thank you! Rosa

    If the email client does not leave email messages on the server, the Blackberry Internet Service may not be able to deliver them to my Blackberry device.
    Can you please walk me through it? Or should I contact my service provider?
    Thanks and keep up the good work!

    Best to contact your service provider.

  • HELP! how do i set up my internet so i can use BB messenger and Apps world?!

    right. ive looked everywhere on the internet for help and i cant find what im looking for. i phoned up Vodafone and asked for the Blackberry Internet Service and they added it to my contract..
    but now im stuck. i know that it has to say GPRS or something in the corner, and mine only says GSM, so first i want to know how to change this?
    second,  when i click Setup>Set Up Wizard> Email Setup  im sure theres meant to be an option to make a new address? but mine only says "i want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server" and when i click next it asks for an activation password ?
    i also tried to set it up on the blackberry site, and it asks for me to first choose my wireless service provider from a list of one.. how do i find out which one it is? and the only options are canada and united states.. i live in the UK!
    also, i read something about "host routing table"?
    and when i click this and try to register an account it says "registration message queued. it will be sent once data coverage is available" whats this mean?
    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANYONE WHO HELPS ME!

    That simply indicates that your Vodafone account is not yet provisioned with the BlackBerry Data Plan.
    Try this:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
    Now, try the personal email setup again.
    If still no personal email setup, you need to call Voda and get an ETA on the provisioning.

    I recently transferred my internet service to another state.I have not yet moved my imac, just my pc laptop. I cannot get my airport extreme wireless router to work. The green light stays lit when everything is connected but I can't connect to the internet. Any suggestions?

    I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
    Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
    Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
    Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
    Power-up your computer(s).
    If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
    Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
    While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
    After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
    Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
    Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
    In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

  • We traded our home internet service for a Sprint Hot Spot.  The hot spot does not have an ethernet port to connect through.  Can we connect our time capsule to the wireless hot spot?

    Hello, we switched our home internet service from an ethernet modem to a wireless hot spot.
    Do you know if there is a way to connect our time capsule to the hot spot?
    Everything I read only suggests connecting through an ethernet cable.  I'm hoping there is a way to do this.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!!!

    No you can't join a wireless hotspot with a Time Capsule directly via it's 'join' option (tried and failed - well to be exact it kinda works but the Time Capsule's ethernet ports no longer work).
    What you can do is buy an airport express and use it's 'join' option to connect to the iPhone's hotspot. Then you connect the airport express via ethernet to the time capsule (in bridge-mode).
    You can then connect your computers to the time capsule via ethernet or use it's wireless function to set up wireless network (with a different name to that of the hotspot) that your wifi stuff can connect to.

  • Blackberry Desktop Software shuts down when running Sprint Smart View Internet Service (Air Card)

    Just installed Blackberry Desktop Software and it runs ok when I am not running Sprint Smart View (This is my program for my internet service / sprint air card).  As soon as I start Sprint Smart View the desktop software no longer works and just shuts itself down after a minute or two.

    I'm not familiar with this particular package, but with similar packages from other carriers there's usually a setting that lets the program control your Network - it may only say Wi-Fi.
    The BlackBerry drivers include a Dial-Up connection which is probably getting shut down by the software which kills Desktop Manager.
    If you turn off that option, the problem should go away (reboot probably a good idea).

    When you go the BIS account on the PC, is this the place you were told to go by your service provider? My own has my carriers' logo on the page and they provided me with the login details whilst I was on the phone to them. It is THEIR responsibility to set up your BIS and to assist you.
    Whether you try OTA or on the PC, you must have access to your BIS and when you finally get it, setting up the email couldn't be easier.
    I cannot see why upgrading to OS 6 would affect email set-up but as you suggest, the option to put email server details in may have been removed. They are not necessary with BIS.
