Setting up and retrieving mail.

My site is live, but i cannot find my emails? Where are they? How do I assign a password to them? And can i set them up in a Mac Mail program?

Adrian,
Please note you have a "webBasic" plan as the entitlement sites that are provided with the cloud subscriptions will not carry mail services with BC.
You can only go with external email set-up in this case.

how can I set up my msn account with mail? It keeps giving error messages like the pop3 thing is invalid and something about ssl. I'm pretty confused. Help please. Thanks

Hi, Gustavo, and welcome to the Community,
I know it will sound ridiculous, but if the new account was created using your e-mail address, change that account's password to take control of the account!  Remove any of your (or their) information - leave all profile settings as "blank" or "not specified."  I would recommend changing the passwords of your Skype account and your e-mail account as well, as proactive measures.
Then, please report this incident to Skype Customer Service.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
As you know you wish to contact Customer Service, skip past Step 2 of the instruction and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request.
    Best regards,
    Elaine

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • POP email account spins forever, never retrieves mail - how to cure?

I've made no changes to my OS Lion mail settings, but suddenly (yesterday) my main POP account just spins forever and never retrieves mail nor gives an error.  Also now sometimes I have to force quit the client because mail never completely quits the normal way.  I've installed all the OS updates, and my iphone and ipad can retrieve the mail from that account with the same settings just fine.
    Help?

This has just started for me in exactly the same way after I updated my wifes comp to 10.7.5. The iphones and ipads all send and retrieve mail with the same settings with no problems at all.
Did you finally solve this problem?

The iPad's Mail app has no provisions for creating groups. However, you can use a third party app that many users recommend.

  • I can not connect to my work e-mail using both regular e-mail set-up and mail 2003 (work has Outlook 2003).  I get the error message "no internet connection- as soon as a connection is made it will switch back".  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why can't I connect to my work e-mail (Outlook 2003) using either the regular e-mail account set-up or Mail 2003? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have yet to find an email server that does not work with Mail.app. Your solution will be to configure its ports and send/receive protocol according to the email server's requirements.
Try the Zimbra support forums. I found this excerpt from a relevant post:
    http://www.zimbra.com/forums/users/46221-mac-mail-app-dont-work-outside-company. html
in which the following ports were suggested
    ports 25, 465, and/or 487 to send mail.
port 143/993 to retrieve mail over IMAP

When I have Mail running (5.1) all that happens is the circular progress thingy is trying to retrieve Mail constantly when I opened up the the Inbox triangle it is the iCloud mail sync progress circle thats because Mail is set to sync. Is that OK and good for the system or is it best to be switched off?

  • Since 7.1.2 mail does NOT retrieve mail in background and notify

After updating to ios 7.1.2 and having to do a complete reset and restore from backup, mail does NOT retrieve mail and notify me that a new message has arrived.
In the past (and with every version of the OS until 7.1.2) mail would vibrate when a new message arrived - I did not have to open the mail app and wait for the download.
What is the fix? In the past, mail was not in notification center - I don't want to see a badge or other on screen listing of the message that has arrived, only have the phone vibrate when a new message arrives.
    Thanks.

Of course - have an open case with Apple support as well. Co-workers are receiving notifications, IOW, when mail is received their phone will buzz (if in silent or vibrate mode) or ding or similar.
I have to actually open the mail app and only then will it grab email and 'notify' me it's been received.
And yes, configuration is set to push - meaning the e-mail server will push it out to the clients immediately,

  • Mac Mail and Earthlink - no longer retrieving mail?

Has anyone else using Earthlink (Mindspring, etc.) found that Mail no longer works in retrieving mail? This started on both of my Macs about 2 weeks ago - I can send mail but not receive from any of my Earthlink accounts. My dot-Mac account is fine, so obviously it's not something in the Mail program in general.
I saw the Earthlink notification about using SMTP and reset my accounts according to their instructions - and today just got confirmation that everything I set was correct as far as they are concerned. So, naturally, Earthlink support has shoved me off to Apple saying it's an Apple issue.
Which brings me here - does anyone else have this problem?
    TIA
    BobF

Folks, i was at the local Apple store the other day and asked about this - the Genius there could not explain why Mail was unhappy with Earthlink (post the SMPT authorization situation) - but she clicked on the little "lightning bolt" icon that appeared next to the mailbox when it failed. And then it worked. While I had always thought that the little "lightning bolt" was just an indicator to show the account was not communicating, it turns out that you can actually click that icon and Mail will get itself going again.
My genius told me she hadn't known that for the longest while, either, so I don't feel like a total clod. I mean, I've had that icon appear innumerable times over the years and then disappear of its own accord the next time Mail made the connection. Who knew it is also a control button?

  • Can I set-up mail to retrieve mail ?

Can I set up my mac mail to retrieve mail from my Yahoo mail account then delete the maill from yahoo mail but keep the mail on my PC?  I us to be able to do this with Outlook mail but I am now using the apple mail that came with my PC.

That would mean that you have the Yahoo maill account configured as an IMAP or Exchange account. What you describe is how IMAP/Exchange works and can't be changed.

  • HT204053 How do I set up my Mac to auto retrieve mail from icloud?

How do I set up my Mac to auto retrieve mail from icloud?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you can't get your mail to work on Snow Leopard after June 30, you might want to try one of these approaches
    1. Configuring Mail in Snow Leopard
    2. Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

  • Problem with iCloud and E-mail set-up

I have been trying to set-up an iCloud e-mail account but keep getting the messages that it cannot set-up the account.
Problems from the iCloud control provide the message that I should use the e-mail preferences to set-up the account, the e-mail preferences provides the message that I should set-up iCloud account. The iCloud account has been set-up and the apple ID works well with other applications.
Not sure what the issue is?

Welcome to the Apple Community SupportLesley9119.
Go to system preferences > iCloud and uncheck Mail. Go to the Mail application and check that the account has disappeared, if not delete it. Go back to system preferences > iCloud and check mail.

  • I had a MobileMe account before... after upgrading to iOS 5, should I keep my account info under iCloud (settings) AND under mail, contacts and calendars (in Settings as well) or only keep the info under the new iCloud setting section?

That's not the correct port. It should be 993 for incoming.
If you signed into iCloud from the System Preferences, it should automatically create the iCloud account for you in Mail. Sounds like it is an account you already had set up for MMe in Mail.
Open Mail preferences, open the Accounts tab, disable that account in the advanced pane.
Open Sys Prefs, open the iCloud tab, and sign out of iCloud. Then sign back in and see if a new iCloud account is automatically created.
