Setting up Apple ID and Accounts for Kids

I'd like to setup 2 accounts for my kids - but don't want to setup separate e-mail accounts - I'd like to like them to my e-mail account.
Can this be done - i.e. link multiple apple IDs to one mail?
Or can I setup an itunes account with a voucher without the need for an e-mail address?
If not, it's not much hassle to setup the e-mail and only give em the password to the itunes account and not the mail address.

This is most unlikely, since if any charges go void apple will most likely be responsible for this and will have to pay out around $10 for every dollar charged (and not paid off) and you must be of age 13 to sign up for an apple ID. Hope I helped.

How do I get an Apple ID?
You may already have an Apple ID, and you only need one for everything you do with Apple. If you aren't sure, visitMy Apple ID and click "Find out."
If you don't have an Apple ID, you can create one at My Apple ID. You can also create one by signing up for an Apple service (such as an iTunes Store or iCloud). You should use your primary email address as your Apple ID.

Your best bet is to create an Apple ID for them, enable and use restrictions on the devices.

  • HOW TO?: Need help setting up 3 different iCloud accounts for my kids (so each has own iMessanger)using same Apple ID (mine) ....they don't have their own separate email addresses to work from...how do I do this?

Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account.  For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud).

I started with one itunes account for my iphone and ipad, and now have a second ipad linked to the same itunes.  Can I set up a new itunes account for one ipad without losing what has already been downloaded on it?  I want to stop my husbands downloads appearing on my ipad, and vice versa.

A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

You can continue to use the current AppleID for iTunes, but your husband can create a new AppleID to use to create a new iCloud account that will be his own and not overlap with yours.  If you do not have another email address to use for an AppleID, just get a free Gmail account and use that.
You can have as many AppleIDs as you want (or at least, as many as you have email addresses for).  You can use a separate AppleID for the store, another for iCloud, and even another for iMessage if you wish.
You will want to keep the current one as the shared one for the store as all your previous purchases are permanently tied to it, and thus you need that AppleID to update or redownload your current purchased content.

  • It looks like I currently share an apple id and account with my daughter.  Our phones are synched even alarms go off on each others phones.  I want to have my own account so this doesnt continue to happen.  How do I change my iphone to have its own id?

It looks like I currently share an apple id and account with my daughter between iphones.  When I set my alarm it goes off on both phones and contacts are synched as well.  How do I seperate from  her account?

    According to Create an AppleID:
Choose an Apple ID and password.
Enter your primary email address as your Apple ID. This will be used as the contact email address for your account. Please note that this email address must be verified before you can use certain Apple services.
And, unless I'm missing something, it appears that you're trying to use your father's e-mail address. Start at Find your AppleID and see if you can resolve the issue.

  • I'm setting up Apple ids, and its not giving me the option to set up a rescue email. How can I add one?

I'm setting up Apple IDs, and its not giving me the option to set up a rescue email. I've set up Apple ID's in the past, and its always given me the option. How can I add a rescue email?

You can find the instructions here. I removed the screenshots but the text is copied below.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
You can edit or delete your rescue email address at My Apple ID. To edit your rescue email address:
Navigate to My Apple ID using your web browser.
    Click "Manage your account"
When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
    Click Password & Security
You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
Note: The option to send an email to reset your security questions and answers will not be available if a rescue email address is not provided. You will need to contact iTunes Store support in order to do so.
After you've validated your identity by correctly answering your security questions, click Edit to the right of your rescue email address.
Once you've finished editing your rescue email address, click the Save button directly below the email field.

  • Need help setting up a new email account for my wife.

I've been trying to set up a separate email account for my wife with no success. I've gone to Preferences clicked the plus sign, it then asks for full name (my wifes'?) email address (would that be the one I pick for her or my email address?) and password- I'm assuming that's the password I use to get my email. It tells me it's checking connection to mail server and then says login to "POP failed".
    Thanks for the help.
    Richard

New email accounts should be created and set up first with your email service provider--contact them for information about how to do that. Just making up a new address and typing it into Mail's preferences doesn't create a new email account.
Edited to add: In addition, you probably want to establish a new user account for your wife on your Mac, so that you and she have separate folders and inboxes for your mail, once she has her own account set up. Separate user accounts also mean the two of you can have separate bookmarks on your browsers, separate document folders, and so on--almost as if you each had your own computer.

  • Using Apple Mac Developer account for code signing

Has anyone been using their Apple Mac Developer account for code signing and Adobe Air desktop App?
    Any hints, tips comments appreciated!

Why would I do that?  I simply want to know, is the binary file I downloaded signed by with MY cert?  I can determine this within reasonable doubt by answering two simple questions:
    1.  Is the cert that this file signed with valid (chain of trust and all that).
    2.  What is the name of the cert (the identity).
If the Identity is the right one (in our case, the name of our company) and it is valid, then I will trust that this binary is ours.
Maybe this will clarify my question. I guess I could rephrase this question as:
"How do I write a simple tool that will verify a file has a valid signature and will give me the signer's identity"?

  • Can I set up a secondary icloud account for my boss

I would like to set up a secondary icloud account for my boss & I to share a calendar and notes only. It would be set up on both our phones. (mine iPhone4s, his iPhone 5c) I am a bit apprehensive, as I want to make sure he doesn't have access to anything from my personal one, or I to his. Can anyone tell me how this is done?
    Thank you.

That's right.  You will see both calendars when you open the Calendars app (unless you uncheck one of them so it isn't in view), and both sets of Notes in the notes app (if you tap Accounts, then tap All Notes so they are both in view).
The only thing you'll want to make sure you do is to go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the Calendars section) and choose the calendar you want new calendar events to go to by default.  If you want them to go to your personal calendar, select your primary iCloud account calendar as your default.  You can manually assign new calendar events to either calendar by tapping the Calendar field when you create the event.
Similarly, you'll want to go to Settings>Notes>Default Account and choose the account you want new notes to be created in by default.  To create a note in the other account, open the Notes app, tap Accounts, then select the other account prior to creating the note.
Your boss will want to take these same steps in order to ensure that his personal calendar events and notes are created in the correct account too.
