Setting up BB Tour to sync with Oulook email

I'm new to the BB.  I figured out how to setup a web email account I have no problem.  Also was able to setup sync with my corporate outlook email from my laptop to BB for my Calendar, Notes & Contacts.  I am not setup for the Enterprise Outlook sync to BB at work.  What I'm trying to configure is syncing my Outlook client inbox messages to my BB.  Seems I would need to setup an email account on the BB for it to sync with however each time I go to do that, it wants to validate the email account (which it won't be able to do since it's my corporate account).  I used to have a Palm and was able to sync my Outlook with it.  I could send emails from my Palm which would sit in the outbox until I sync'ed up again with Outlook - it would pass those emails to outlook client which would send them off.  It would also sync any other changes to my inbox.  Can i do this with the BB?
One other complaint on the sync of BB calendar is that it finds changes on the BB when nothing has changed so it updates my Outlook calendar (concerned it's messing something up).  When I look for detail changes, it indicates the people on copy for the mtg have changed (which they haven't)?  Any ideas on this one?

I can not setup my BB on the corporate BES (not allowed here as it's my personal BB, not corp issued).  I just want to setup an email client on my BB that will sync to Outlook on my laptop when I connect my BB to my laptop.  Much the same way my Calendar, Notes & Contacts sync only with I connect the two.  Anyone know if that's possible?  Thanks,  Scott
Scott, a personal BIS account will not sync email messages, not possible. Sorry.

  • How do I set up my iphone to sync with my outlook account?

How do I set up my iphone to sync with my outlook account?

    Hi maryannmc,
                          You have two options.
    1. You can plug the iPhone into iTunes and select the "Info" tab and choose "Sync Mail Accounts" and this will transfer the settings across.
    2. In the iPhone you can go to Settings > General > Mail, Contacts and Calendars and choose "Add account"
You will need to know if your account is POP, IMAP or Exchange and this will help determine what settings you need to enter and how to set it up so both your computer and iPhone can receive email.
The iPhone can add most popular accounts with ease such as gmail, yahoo or hotmail.
    Hope this helps,

Thanks but this is not what I am looking for.  I am looking for the settings - setting that allows our iphone to auto sync with your mac book when you make a puchase on either device.
You aren't going to sync with my MacBook when I make a purchase.
And you are not going to autosync your iPod with the MacBook unless you tell it to sync or plug it in.
You can enable Automatic downloads when you make a purchase.
    iTunes settings > Store.
When you make a purchase, it will automatically download that purchase to devices set up the same way.
This is not the same as autosyncing your device to your computer (as you first asked).

  • 9630 Tour synced with wrong email.

While traveling out of the country, I put my travel companion's yahoo email account into my Tour so he could receive his emails. When I returned home (US) I synced/backed-upped  my phone not thinking about his yahoo account. I have synced removed his email before I realized that my phone is now synced with his email address. When I go to my address book, all of my contacts say "Sync with (his email) I setup and deleted his account through the email setup program, but now even my access to my email setup will not take my password. Anyone ever have this happen?

Try to uninstall both email addresses and go through  the setup of the email address that you would like to have sync with your Blackberry. Hope that helps!

When I got my new iPhone and was trying to switch everything over I accidentally set up a new icloud account with one email and had one on my old iphone with another account. Does anyone know how I can merge the two accounts?

You cannot merge Apple IDs but you can go to Settings > iCloud and 'Delete Account'.  When prompted to turn off documents and data, choose the only option which is Delete from my iPhone, but on the other prompt for Contacts, Calendars, etc you can choose 'Keep on my iPhone'  Then once the Account is Deleted form the iPhone, log back in with the correct Apple ID and choose Merge when prompted.  This will merge your data from this iPhone with that iCloud account effectively putting your devices on the same account.

I try and buy in app purchases but it won't let me and gives me the above error message: "iTunes password and account is not synced with the email address"!  How can I fix this?

Are you running modified software on your phone?  This error seems to be common if the firmware has been modified and you're trying to restore the phone again.

  • Export contacts in CSV, Excel or other format.  I DO NOT want to sync with an email account.  This is for an exemployee who just wants names and numbers in a simple format.

I have the iPhone 4S, iOS7.0 of an ex-employee.  That person would like a list of their contacts from the phone.  I DO NOT want to sync with another email account, just a simple listing of the contacts.

  • Setting up your iPhone to sync with 1and1 Exchange Server.

_+*You *must have* iPhone firmware version 2.0 and higher to sync to Exchange Services+.*
iPhone and 1and1 exchange work amazingly well. Most folks out there are still using the IMAP side of the 1and1 Exchange service. *"THIS IS NOT FULLY FUNCTIONING EXCHAHGE"*! Here is how to really set up your phone to sync Mail, Calendars, and Contacts with 1and1 Exchange accounts.
    From your home screen:
1: Go to the settings control panel on your iphone.
2: Touch the "*Mail, Contacts, Calendars*" tab.
3: Touch the "*Add Account...*" tab.
4: Touch the "*Microsoft Exchange*" tab.
A screen asking you to "*Enter your Exchange account information*" will appear.
5: type your email address attached to your 1and1.com exchange account.
    ex. "[email protected]"
6: type your domainusername. Your 1and1 username is one that is assigned to you by 1and1.
the username must be typed out in this manner: exchangee123456789
*If you already know your 1and1 Exchange Username then skip to step 7.*
Your 1and1 username starts with an "e" and its followed by nine numbers (ex.: e123456789). If you do not know this username you have to go to your Administrator panel at the 1and1 site,(Here is the URL to the admin page. *http://admin.1and1.com*).At the prompt enter your customer number *which is located on your monthly 1and1 invoice* followed by your password. if you have never seen this control panel you will have to sign in and get a password to access this area. Once in the Admin area under the packages tab click the url labled "*1&1 Microsoft Exchange*". You will now be in the *Administration Tab*. Now under the *communications tool* section click the URL labeled *"Microsoft® Exchange Account Overview"*. You will now see a list of the exchange usernames in that exchange package. Find your username and either print out the page or write the number down.
7: type your 1and1 exchange account password.
8: type a description that best corresponds with your 1and1 exchange account. As a suggestion you should type a description that makes your account stand out. "*ex. 1and1 exchange account*" (this will be helpful later in distinguishing what calendars come from which account if you are syncing multiple calendars.)
9: touch the "Next" button at the top right of the screen.
iPhone will connect with the 1and1 exchange server and authenticate your account. If the authentication fails check one of your entries then try again.
10: once iPhone authenticates your account a field called "Server" will appear between the "Email" and "Username" fields. Enter "exchange.1and1.com" into this field.
11: touch the "Next" button at the top right of the screen.
12: Select which part of the Exchange Services you would like sync with your iPhone.
ie. *Mail, Contacts, or Calendars*. (Simply slide the on or off switch next to the service you either wish to sync or exclude.)
13: once you have chosen your services touch the "Save" button at the top right of the screen.
iPhone will once again contact the 1and1 Exchange server. You will be returned to the mail settings screen.
    You are now done
If you don't have any contacts on your iPhone just go look at your address book now. If you chose to sync your address book all of your contacts have populated themselves into your iPhone contacts tab.
    AWESOME
Welcome to Exchange on the iPhone!
Some thing to try to verify your Exchange account.
1: Create a Calendar or Address book entree in your iPhone. Now watch it appear on your Outlook account.
2: Tell a friend with Outlook to invite you to a calendar event. You will receive an invitation right there on your iPhone screen.
Have fun and enjoy your new iPhone.

Unless Apple decides to license ActiveSync from MS, this will not happen.
Apple hasn't done so since OS X was first released for whatever the reason or reasons and although always/never should not be used, I'm not sure how likely this is.
I venture to say that Apple is well aware that the iPhone is limited to business use as is - at least for those with an Exchange account - with a company or IT department not willing to enable IMAP account access for email accounts. Initially, the iPhone was not designed nor intended for the enterprise/business market as is a Blackberry, Palm or Windows Mobile device. It is obvious from the commercials that the focus - at the present time anyway, is as a consumer device. The iPhone/iPod Touch SDK scheduled to be released on March 6 may change this but what will come out of the SDK and when is unknown at this point.
If you need to access your Exchange account with the iPhone and your company and IT department refuses to enable IMAP account access, there are no workarounds for this. There are ways to make accessing an IMAP account secure by requiring SSL for the incoming and outgoing mail servers and the iPhone also supports VPN - virtual private network access which is secure.
Other than that and you don't want to keep the iPhone for personal use, it is probably best to return it and wait until after the SDK is released to see what may turn up.

  • Help Please....Tour stops syncing with BES for no reason

I have the new Tour and  4 times in the past month for no reason the phone stops syncing with our Blackberry Server.  I still get my hotmail emails, i can still use the phone/text.  But my work emails stop coming in and the connection to the BES is apparanlty lost.  Our company tech guy can usually fix it by restarting the BES I think and then all my emails come in and say the exact same time received....whatever time the server is restarted.  What is odd is that we have 5 other people with Tour's on the same server...their phones never stop syncing its only mine.   Any ideas?  Should i just go get a new Tour?  Thanks to anyone who can help.

I may not have the right answer for you but I recently discovered two commands in mail.app that might help.
When you launch mail, go to the windows menu and launch the activity viewer and connection doctor. They may point you in the right direction.

need help getting new computer accepted as ok to use with i tunes & to sync with I phone 5

You should be able to authorise your account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes- if you are using iTunes on a PC then try pressing Alt-S and the Store menu should appear (or control-B and the menus should show, they are hidden by default on iTunes 11 on PCs) e.g.

  • Don't want mail account to sync with online email account

I just got a new mac mini and will soon quit using my imac that I bought around 2006 10.6.8.
    I am setting up Mail.
Can I get it to work the way my old mail did.
    The problem
In the past my gmail would download to mail and if I deleted an email on my computer in Mail, it would delete.  I have 1172 old emails online on my gmail account and I want to keep them there.  Now when I deleted the messages that downloaded on my computer mail program, they reappear.  It seems as if it is syncing with what is online.
My husband's yahoo account downloads to Mail.  Before I only got what was in his inbox.  Sometimes people send me mail to his address, this way I have can check this on my computer.  When I set up his yahoo account in Mail, all of his folders and emails downloaded.  No big deal, I could delete the emails and they still remain on his online yahoo account.  The problem is that it downloaded all of his folders and mail won't let me delete the folders.
It's nice to have the new mini mac but I have to figure out what is different, especially on programs that I use a lot.
backed up my documents, music and photos and more on an external hardrive.  I would like to transfer folders and the emails they contain from the old mac.  Does anyone know how I find them?  I basically put all the files in home folder on the external drive.  I didn't know if I would find them under Library or what.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had it set as imap and did not realize it.  it was Pop that I wanted.  Now it is pop and I am getting what I want.  Thanks.
