Setting up bluetooth with alpha character

I am trying to connect my panasonic phone via blue tooth to my Iphone.  The device id is T6582.  I can't figure out how to enter a "T" on my Iphone wifi key board any suggestions?

Don't know what you're trying to do here, but a Bluetooth Device ID just identifies the mfg., product ID, version, etc. You don't use that to pair. Is this a cordless home phone? At any rate, what you want is the pairing passcode...normally default is something like 0000 or 9999.

  • How to set up Bluetooth with iPhone and computer

    Hi there.
    I am now the proud owner of a brand new iPhone 3GS 32GB and I'm in love...
    I'm trying to set it up with Bluetooth. I used to be able to "Bluetooth" files to and from my computer with other mobile devices but I have difficulties with the iPhone. It won't connect. Anybody knows what I need to do? Cheers.

    The iPhone _does not_ support Bluetooth file transfer. You must use the USB cable for syncing, or there are file transfer/storage apps in the App Store (Files, File Magnet, Air Sharing, there are lots) that use Wi-Fi.
    On the iPhone, Bluetooth is limited to voice calls, music streaming to stereo headphones, and tethering (using the phone as a cellular modem). Tethering requires carrier support - O2 and Orange support it, Tesco does not.

  • After setting up bluetooth with my car , nano connection fails

    followed instructions to pair and connect, stereo says connected , nano says failed

    Same problem? My partner bought the latest iPod nano, tried to pair it with the car stereo in her MINI. The stereo recognised the iPod, said it was successfully paired with it, but the iPod says the connection failed. I cannot find anywhere that confirms whether the MINI (2011 model) has bluetooth that supports A2DP. If anyone knows for sure, I'd appreciate knowing.

  • Query distributed database with different character sets.

    Hello experts, this is my situation:
    I have two databases A and B, the same version 11.1.0.7, the same OS Suse Linux Enterprise 10 but with different character sets, A has WE8MSWIN1252 while B has AL32UTF8. The database B is my XML DB repository so there I have some XML type tables. I need to query this tables from the database A using a dblink and in fact I have done that but the XML content is trasformed due to the different character sets between the databases. Some time there are data loss and some time there are data missmatch.
    Is there any way to query the tables stored in the database B without problems? I do not know if the following is correct: Maybe I can set the character set for the session in the database A during the time it query the database B. That is, change the character set in fly at session level.
    Do you have any special suggestion?
    I hope you can help me, thank you in advance.

    The Globalization Support Guide for 11.1.0.7 has a chapter on character set migration that should be helpful. AL32UTF8 is a superset of WE8MSWIN1252 but it is not a strict superset. That is, it doesn't meet the second prong of the test in the documentation
    The new character set is a strict superset of the current character set if:
    Each and every character in the current character set is available in the new character set.
    Each and every character in the current character set has the same code point value in the new character set. For example, many character sets are strict supersets of US7ASCII.Exporting the data from the A, changing the character set (or creating a new database with the AL32UTF8 character set), and then importing the data may be the easiest approach in your case.

  • Searching with different character sets

    Hello,
    we have a problem with Intermedia 8.1.6. running on Solaris.
    The table contains the text with different character sets and that's the problem. User submits the query in his char.set and the IM sometimes doesn't find the data.
    Idea is to create the index using the flat ascii chars and to search in ascii ... but how?
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks.

    Its a mono bluetooth paired with the phone.
    I dont want to buy a new stereo headset but can i use this same one.

    One way is to sync the contacts from the old iPhone to iCloud. Then when you turn on the new phone and set it up for iCloud and turn on the Contacts in Settings >iCloud, they will come to the new phone. http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

  • Have to "Set up Bluetooth Device" for wireless trackpad and keyboard almost every day

    Almost every day when I turn on my MacBook Air in my home office, my Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad do not automatically reconnect. They used to connect just fine when I was in the viscinity, but now (for the past 6 months or so) I almost always have to:
    Bluetooth > Set up Bluetooth Device
    Turn off the keyboard (hold down the power button for several seconds)
    Turn the keyboard back on (hold down power button for several seconds)
    Go through the setup wizard
    Repeat for the trackpad
    Things that don't work:
    Pressing the button on each Bluetooth device
    Restarting each Bluetooth device
    Turning Bluetooth on and off
    Setting the Bluetooth devices as "Favorites"
    Selecting the device from the Bluetooth menu item and clicking "Connect"
    Rebooting my MacBook Air
    Resetting  the NVRAM / PRAM
    Once the device is connected for the day, I do appear to be able to "Disconnect" and then "Connect" again from the Bluetooth menu item. The devices will also automatically reconnect by pressing a button on them. It just appears to lose the "lease" on them or whatever after a little less than a day.
    I'm trying to think of other troubleshooting steps I could take and it just occurred to me that I could try swapping them with the peripherals I use at work (which are possibly newer models, but otherwise identical). Any other suggestions?

    Huzzah! Less than 1 week after finally getting fed up and posting this question, I have discovered the root cause - my wife had been inadvertently stealing my keyboard and mouse connection whenever she turned on her laptop! She's using my hand-me-down MacBook Pro which I thought I had reset, but apparently it remembered its Bluetooth connections.
    I had suspected something similar since I occasionally used the wireless keyboard with my iPad, but had already ruled that out.
    I can't believe I figured this out after 6 months of mild frustration, but just days after posting this question

  • Error: Invalid dimension member with special character / in BPC NW 7.5 SP7

    Hi experts,
    We are encountering the following problem in our Financial Planning application.
    We are migrating our existing BPC solution from one server to another through backup and restore. The existing solution was on BPC NW 7.5 SP 5. The profit_centre dimension in the existing solutions has several member ids with special character '/' (forward slash). The dimension never threw an error when processed in the existing solution and there is planning transactional data against these member ids.
    While the entire configration , appset , files were successfully restored through UJBR on the new system (BPC 7.5 SP7) through UJBR (backup and restore), the masterdata could not be restored only for this Profit_centre (masterdata for other dimensions were processed successfullu). All the member ids with / are rejected for this dimension. The same error is thrown if processed through the admin client from the member sheet.
    Error: Dimension member PC_FF/WS/NT is an invalid member ID
              Error in Admin module
    Is there any setting which need to be made to allow / character in member ids? Any suggestion to get around this problem would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Abhiman

    Hi Abhiman,
    Yes, you need to maintain the transformation file to correct all dimension member IDs. Can you please refer to the following link with a similar issue:

  • No Method of Batch Export for Clips with Alpha Channels?

    Good morning,
    As many a flustered editor has eventually discovered, in order for FCP to export sequences with alpha channels to a 32-bit format, the timeline has to be un-rendered at the time of export, or else the transparent parts will appear black in the outputted file. This sort-of makes sense if you know how FCP and render files work, but in a perfect world I think I'd have designed the export interface a bit differently. Now that I think about it, I'm actually working in an Animation (Millions of Colors +) sequence, so converting transparent areas to black makes no logical sense at all.
    Anyway, I have several sequences that I would like to export as 32-bit TGA QuickTime files, preserving their transparency. If I Export Using Compressor, the process results in pre-rendering of the sequence, turning the transparent areas black. The same problem occurs if I export QuickTime reference movies from FCP and open them directly with Compressor.
    Does anyone know of a way to avoid this silly phenomenon or am I stuck individually exporting each sequence from FCP, one...at.......a................time?
    Thanks,
    Zap

    Thanks, Andy, "Batch Export" eventually did the trick!
    I forgot about that tool because I've never actually had to use it before! After playing around with it for a while, I found that as long as the sequence settings for each sequence in the batch are set to a codec with an activated alpha channel, it works just fine.
    Thanks again,
    Zap

  • In Lr 3.6 how can I search for filenames ending with a # character ?

    The text search seems to treat the # character in some mysterious way so as to not select the files that have it in their name. I cannot find any explanation for this in the documentation. Is there some other character(s) that I have to put beside the # to make it register as a normal character ?
    My specific problem is that I need to locate a bunch of files in my catalog that have names ending with a # character. I want to rename those files in a way that removes the trailing # but not other # characters that separate key parts of the file names. If I can't do that then I want to select that group of files and produce .xmp files for them (I don't normally use .xmp files) so that I can rename the files outside Lr and import them again complete with all previous tweaks and metadata.
    I dare say that I would not choose to name files this way if I started again but I've got far too many to change now.
    There are also too many for me to want to rename them individually in the Metadata panel if I can avoid it.
    I'm using Lr 3.6 on Mac OSX 10.6.8
    cheers,
    - Alan

    You guys beat me to the answer, which I discovered more by accident than good management.
    Firstly, I had used the # characters because they looked good in list views such as in Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder. That was from before I got into using Lr and I was trying and using several different programs to manage my photos. Then I found that trailing # characters prevented Lr from recognizing the number at the "end" of the file name and so I wanted to delete them.
    Secondly, I got into the Lr rename facility initially to replace what I did with Downloader Pro before switching from Windows to Mac and subsequently found that there is no way to delete a trailing character, but it helped establish in my mind that to Lr the "filename" was just the first part of the name before the full stop and the extension (e.g. .cr2 or .nef or .jpg). Try it - there is a "filename" token for setting up a naming structure that ignores the extension and its full stop.
    This was further reinforced in Library Grid View where the filename and the extension are separated and the extension is not displayed.
    So having used F2 (rename) before I got around to playing with the text search I was set up for failure. Looking for {filename ends with #} or {filename ends with #.} failed because it found nothing as none of my files had a # or #. after the filename extension, and looking for {filename contains #} also failed because it found all of my files instead of just those with the trailing #. I wrongly thought that Lr had trouble seeing a # in the text search.
    Now I have been able to find and select all files with a trailing # in the base part of the filename by looking for {filename contains #.} and generate current .xmp files for them. Then I went outside Lr and used a utility file renamer to get rid of the offending # for the image files and the .xmp files in bulk. Then I re-synchronized the folder(s) in Lr to import those renamed files back into Lr along with all of the metadata, and get rid of the old files from the catalog. Had those files been a part of a collection or stack then I suspect that membership of the collection or stack would have been lost but it kept the keywords, ratings, labels, and image tweaks. Then I got rid of the .xmp files again because I prefer to work without them (less clutter and less chance of other software separating them from the image files).
    So much easier than doing it the hard way
    Thanks for your help.

  • ImageIO PNG Writing Slow With Alpha Channel

    I'm writing a project that generates images with alpha channels, which I want to save in PNG format. Currently I'm using javax.ImageIO to do this, using statements such as:
    ImageIO.write(image, "png", file);
    I'm using JDK 1.5.0_06, on Windows XP.
    The problem is that writing PNG files is very slow. It can take 9 or 10 seconds to write a 640x512 pixel image, ending up at around 300kb! I have read endless documentation and forum threads today, some of which detail similar problems. This would be an example:
    [http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6215304|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6215304]
    This surely must be resolvable, but after much searching I've yet to find a solution. If it makes any difference, I ONLY want to write png image, and ONLY with an alpha channel (not ever without), in case there are optimisations that that makes possible.
    If anyone can tell me how to address this problem, I'd be very grateful.
    Many thanks, Robert Redwood.

    This isn't a solution, but rather a refinement of the issue.
    Some of the sources I was reading were implying that the long save time might be due to a CPU heavy conversion process that had to take place before the BufferedImage could be saved. I decided to investigate:
    I loaded back in one of the (slowly) saved PNG images using ImageIO.read(file). Sure enough, the BufferedImage returned differed from the BufferedImage I had created. The biggest difference was the color model, which was DirectColorModel on the image I was generating, and was ComponentColorModel on the image I was loading back in.
    So I decided to manually convert the image to be the same as how it seemed to end up anyway. I wrote the following code:
          * Takes a BufferedImage object, and if the color model is DirectColorModel,
          * converts it to be a ComponentColorModel suitable for fast PNG writing. If
          * the color model is any other color model than DirectColorModel, a
          * reference to the original image is simply returned.
          * @param source The source image.
          * @return The converted image.
         public static BufferedImage convertColorModelPNG(BufferedImage source)
              if (!(source.getColorModel() instanceof DirectColorModel))
                   return source;
              ICC_Profile newProfile = ICC_Profile.getInstance(ColorSpace.CS_sRGB);
              ICC_ColorSpace newSpace = new ICC_ColorSpace(newProfile);
              ComponentColorModel newModel = new ComponentColorModel(newSpace, true, false, ComponentColorModel.TRANSLUCENT, DataBuffer.TYPE_BYTE);
              PixelInterleavedSampleModel newSampleModel = new PixelInterleavedSampleModel(DataBuffer.TYPE_BYTE, source.getWidth(), source.getHeight(), 4, source.getWidth() * 4, new int[] { 0, 1, 2, 3 });
              DataBufferByte newDataBuffer = new DataBufferByte(source.getWidth() * source.getHeight() * 4);
              ByteInterleavedRaster newRaster = new ByteInterleavedRaster(newSampleModel, newDataBuffer, new Point(0, 0));
              BufferedImage dest = new BufferedImage(newModel, newRaster, false, new Hashtable());
              int[] srcData = ((DataBufferInt)source.getRaster().getDataBuffer()).getData();
              byte[] destData = newDataBuffer.getData();
              int j = 0;
              byte argb = 0;
              for (int i = 0; i < srcData.length; i++)
                   j = i * 4;
                   argb = (byte)(srcData[i] >> 24);
                   destData[j] = argb;
                   destData[j + 1] = 0;
                   destData[j + 2] = 0;
                   destData[j + 3] = 0;
              //Graphics2D g2 = dest.createGraphics();
              //g2.drawImage(source, 0, 0, null);
              //g2.dispose();
              return dest;
         }My apologies if that doesn't display correctly in the post.
    Basically, I create a BufferedImage the hard way, matching all the parameters of the image I get when I load in a PNG with alpha channel.
    The last bit, (for simplicity), just makes sure I copy over the alpha channel of old image to the new image, and assumes the color was black. This doesn't make any real speed difference.
    Now that runs lightning quick, but interestingly, see the bit I've commented out? The alternative to setting the ARGB values was to just draw the old image onto the new image. For a 640x512 image, this command (drawImage) took a whopping 36 SECONDS to complete! This may hint that the problem is to do with conversion.
    Anyhow, I got rather excited. The conversion went quickly. Here's the rub though, the image took 9 seconds to save using ImageIO.write, just the same as if I had never converted it. :(
    SOOOOOOOOOOOO... Why have I told you all this?
    Well, I guess I think it narrows dow the problem, but eliminates some solutions (to save people suggesting them).
    Bottom line, I still need to know why saving PNGs using ImageIO is so slow. Is there any other way to fix this, short of writing my own PNG writer, and indeed would THAT fix the issue?
    For the record, I have a piece of C code that does this in well under a second, so it can't JUST be a case of 'too much number-crunching'.
    I really would appreciate any help you can give on this. It's very frustrating.
    Thanks again. Robert Redwood.
