Setting up displays and preview monitor with Quadro FX1700

Hi,
I am using a Quadro FX1700 graphics card with two DVI displays and a montitor with component connection to the PNY breakout box. I want to have a spanned desktop on my DVI displays and use my component monitor to preview video in Premiere.
Is this possible (it should be as the card is designed for use with premiere) and how do you d set it up? The nVidia control panel only seems to allow two displays at one time..!!
Thanks!!!
Tim

  • Is it possible to output to a projector and a monitor with Keynote?

Hi, I am looking to set up my Macbook Pro for a presentation, I have hooked up two extra output displays - a projector through the DVI for the main presentation and a monitor with an Iogear USB - VGA connector on stage for the speakers notes. The Macbook will be side stage. Is it possible in Keynote to display the main presentation on the projector and the speakers notes to the monitor? I have tried mirroring the laptop to the monitor but this has caused problems with it only working when the projector is designated the home screen (with the dock) meaning people will see what is going on through the projector. When the laptop is the home screen and keynote is started a message appears saying there's not enought virtual memory. Is there anyway around this?

This is not possible with a mini.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have seen previous versions mentioned in a pop up message before on iCloud.com, but I'm not really sure at all how it would help, as I couldn't get it to do anything.
The best advice I have at this time is to back up your work on your iOS device by regularly saving it to iTunes, if anything goes wrong you can then either load it into the numbers app again on the device or recover it via iTunes on your computer.
My syncs are immediate, I never get chance to see if it works in the background, sorry.

  • Source and Preview monitor blank or displaying hidden windows

In Premiere Pro CS4. Seemingly for no reason my source and prview monitors are no longer working. Instead of playing back the media they just display blank or whatever was on screen before changing focus back to CS4. For instance if I went to import a file and the explorer window opened up, once I closed it I would seem remnants of the explorer window where the Source Monitro should be, so it's obviously a glitch.
Not sure why this is happening. I did a clean install of CS4, and even a full restore of the entire Windows OS and the problem persists. Interestingly I can run After Effects and it works just fine.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Something like this is "usually" a graphics adapter problem
What is your brand/model (nVidia... ATI... ???) and your device driver number?

  • Preview freezes with Quadro FX 3800 (Pr CS5.03)

Just wanted to check quickly if anyone else seen this.  I consistently (i.e. always) get a display driver error on a specific system under all of the following circumstances:
    GPU Aceleration enabled
    Quadro FX 3800 installed
    The timeline includes a title
The moment the timeline cursor wanders into the title, the preview window in Pr freezes.  The audio continues playing.  In order to get the preview back, I need to restart Premiere.  Sometimes the freeze is followed by an NVidia error message, display driver encountered an error and has recovered.  Doesn't matter if you scrub or play - the same error.
The error does not happen with a different graphics card (Quadro CX == FX 4800).
The error does not happen when the MPE is set to software rather than GPU-accelerated.
The error happens regardless of the display driver (tried three), sequence settings, user environment, Premiere Pro settings (cleared them once).
I haven't yet tried to re-install Pr (it's just too much work) or the OS (even more work).  Just wanted to check if anyone else seen this.
The system is an HP Z800 (FM012UT, one Xeon X5667 3.06GHz, 12GB RAM, 320GB 1st HDD, PNY Quadro FX 3800 1GB graphics, 6TB Media Array RAID0 3x 2TB), Matrox MXO2 LE (currently disconnected).  It's been kept pristine by the client (minimum if any changes since delivered in July 2010).
    The problem could be:
Software configuration of this specific system (but not the graphics card): e.g. some corrupted file in the OS or CS5 that causes the error.  Re-installing the OS and/or CS5 would fix it.  The question is though, why only FX 3800 and not CX?
    A hardware error on this specific Quadro FX 3800.  Replacing it with another FX 3800 would fix it;
Some sort of a generic incompatibility of Pr CS5 with Quadro FX 3800.
My next step is to pop that FX 3800 into a known good system, install CS5 on it and see if the problem recurs.  I dread it.
    Thanks for any ideas.

The problem is also happening on a known good system with the same FX 3800.  The problem does not happen on either system with a different graphics card (Quadro CX).
    That leaves two choices:
Premiere Pro CS5.03 problem with GPU acceleration on Quadro FX 3800
The Quadro FX 3800 I have in my hands is defective.
Anyone else has a Quadro FX 3800 and Premiere Pro CS5.03?  Could you please try dropping a title on a timeline, scrub it a couple of times; change MPE to "software"; then to "GPU acceleration again (delete previews), and scrub again.  Same problem? No problem?
    Thanks!

  • Agent Desktop Recording and Silent Monitoring with IP Communicator.

Reading through the forums I have seen several posts which make me think this should work, but I can't seem to get silent monitoring or recording using the agent desktop to work when the agent is connected through IP communicator.   Currently I have help desk agents using extension mobility to log into 7962s that are connected to thier desktops running agent desktop connecting to UCCX 7.01.  Silent monitoring and recording work fine with thier hard phones. When I install IP communicator on the PC and log into it using EM, the agent desktop takes control of the IPC just fine and will distribute calls to it, but my recordings are blank and silent monitoring from an supervisor station fails to initialize.  Is there something I am missing in the configuration that is special when using IPC instead of a hard phone?  Thanks in advance.

Couple of things I've learned about the CIPC and monitoring/recording:
No named devices.  Use the SEP + Mac Address of the local Ethernet interface.
Ensure the Ethernet interface can be put into permiscuous mode.
Ensure you are NOT using a shared line appearance for the IPCC Extension.
If you are using CAD to do the monitoring/recording, launch the CIPC before you launch CAD
If you are using SPAN, ensure the CIPC RTP traffic will traverse the network where the SPAN interface is located.
If you are calling phone-to-phone, know that the CIPC will attempt to negoitiate G.722.  UCCX cannot monitor/record G.722.  Set the region or call to the PSTN where you can guarantee a G.711 or G.729 call.

  • Use iPad as Preview Monitor with DSLR (nikon)...possible?

    Hi all
I have the idea to purchase the iPad but a still have a question...is it possible to us it as preview monitor for my dslr (nikon d300) using a cable input?
    thx a lot
    cheers

The closest thing I've seen to this is this app:
    http://www.ononesoftware.com/products/dslr-camera-remote/
It supports only some models of camera, and requires the the camera be tethered to a laptop, to which you then connect wirelessly from the iPad. I don't know if that would be useful to you, but it might be worth a look.
And while not a preview app, ShutterSnitch might be useful in your workflow.
As wireless camera systems become more common and functional, we may eventually see remote-control apps that can connect directly to the camera, not requiring an intervening laptop. This is already partially possible for photographers with a Leaf or a Mamiya digital back.
    Regards.

  • Viewing firewire external device and VGA monitor with mirroring off

My mac laptop is connected to an external monitor via the VGA port and I keep mirroring off to maximize display space. When using FCP I want to run firewire out to a professional DVcam deck for both capture, and to view the timeline on an external monitor that I see by using 'RCA monitor out' on the DVcam deck to the monitor. However, as soon as I turn mirroring off, the deck no longer sees the firewire. How can I see the firewire out and the VGA display monitor when mirroring is off. thanks

Is the ADVC powered? When you connect firewire to the back of the unit, it gets powered by that connector, but the firewire jack on the front is only 4-pin and doesn't support power.
If you have a 6-pin to 6-pin firewire cable, try connecting it to the back of the ADVC110 and then the front of the box should light up, indicating power.
I'm having a similar issue. I can print to tape via the Canopus box, but I want to be able to drive a monitor with it just so I can have an NTSC monitor while I'm editing. I can't seem to make it work. Any ideas?

  • Source and Preview Monitors are Jittery

I've been getting some really bad screen flicker in my preview and source monitors in Premiere CS4. It feels like a frame rate or frame conversion issue, since it seems to flicker between frames (kind of back and forth, like it can't decide which frame it should be on). This has never been an issue for me before, either with CS3, or the project I just finished with in CS4.
All the footage is HVX200 MXF files shot at 720p (anamorphic) and 23.976 fps. The project settings match the footage exactly (CS4 has a default profile for this footage). This was not a problem a week ago with another project I was working on that had all the same settings and was shot with the exact same camera at the exact same settings (as far as I know).
When I export, the problem no longer exists and the footage looks amazing, but for some reason just the in-software monitors are causing it.
I am running Windows XP SP3, with an ATI Radeon 4830 graphics card.

I need to make a slight correction. The flicker is, in fact, there in the previous CS4 project that I mentioned. I just didn't notice it as much since there was far less movement in it.

  • Older iPod and Viewsonic Monitor with dock

    Hello All,
I just bought the 22" Viewsonic LCD monitor with iPod dock on it. I have an older 40gig iPod. (almost 4 years old)
The doc sync's with my iPod and iTunes just fine, BUT it does not charge. I originally thought that it was an issue with the monitor, but after repacking and replacing it, I still have the issue on my new monitor.
Is there some kind of charging issue with the older iPods and this dock? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    v

I just purchased the 22" View Sonic and my 5th Gen Video iPod won't even sync with iTunes. In fact I get an error messagage from windows saying the devices is not working.

  • Display and Boot Problem with MSI K9NGM2

    I recently purchased a system:
    - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 Core Duo
    - MSI K9NGM2
    - 1 GB Kingston RAM
    - 320 GB Sata seagate
    - Sony DVD RW
    - 450 Watts Power Supply
The very first day I started having problems with my system. Sometimes it never showed a display and if it does it was not able to recognise my hard disk. I have to reboot it several times before it does. I think its the computer who decides when to boot and when not to. I got it checked and the vendor says that everything is fine , although he is also not able to respond to my problem. The Sata cabling and the Ram has also been replaced twice but still the problem persists.
Does anyone have any answer to this problem.

  • Cracked display and having trouble with second monitor

Can someone help me please. I also have a shattered screen on my MacBook Pro
I attached an old dell CRT to the port and can see my desktop bachground. The problem is I cant see the dock or the top toolbar. how can i get to the apps or the display controls when i have nothing to click?
Thanks in advance for you input.
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
In System Preferences, open the Display settings. Go to arrangement from the top of the little window. You will see the 2 small blue rectangles for your screens. You can arrange them to resemble your screen arrangement to - for example - move the mouse arrow from screen to screen in a straight line.
And you can also pick up the little white bar on top of the smaller screen and drag it over to the bigger blue rectangle.
This should move your main screen controls (menu bar and dock) over to the external display.
Alternatively - connect your external screen. Put your MacBook Pro to sleep. Close the lid and wake it up again. With the lid closed it should recognise the external display as the main screen.
    hope this works for you.
    Stefan.

  • Mixing VGA and DVI monitors with 5770

    Hi everyone,
I've seen the Apple articles and the forum posts about this, but before I need to check my configuration will work before it has to be used on a show at work (the MP is running screens in a venue). I've seen lots of scenarios with people using all DVI monitors or all VGA, but can't find any examples where they are mixed.
    Here is my proposed setup:
    DVI output - 800 x 600 - First device (DVI input only)
Mini Display Port 1 - also 800 x 600 - Second device (DVI/VGA input but strongly prefer to use DVI) via Mini Display Port -> DVI adapter (passive?)
Mini Display Port 2 - 1376 x 7?? - Monitor running the UI (VGA input) via Mini Display Port -> VGA adapter (active?)
My worry is that there is only one active adapter in the system?
If this won't work, I have two backup plans, which I would also like to know if it will work or not, please. One of the DVI devices has a buffered DVI link out, so I could use that to feed the other DVI device.
    So Backup plan 1:
    DVI output - 800 x 600 - DVI in of first device
Mini Display Port 1 - 1376 x 7?? - Monitor running the UI (VGA input) via Mini Display Port -> VGA adapter (active?)
    MDP 2 not used.
    Backup plan 2:
    DVI output - 800 x 600 - DVI in of first device
Mini Display Port 1 - also 800 x 600 - Second device, VGA input via Mini Display Port -> VGA adapter
Mini Display Port 2 - 1376 x 7?? - Monitor running the UI (VGA input) via Mini Display Port -> VGA adapter
Phew, sorry for the essay everyone. Been a long day of trying to research all of this...
    Thanks in advance.

Obviously backup plan 1 is no problem with only two monitors connected.
You have a relatively easy set of conditions.  Two of your monitors are single link DVI (resolutions less than 1920 x 1200).  One is vga.  So a mini-displayport (mDP) to VGA counts as one active adapter and all you need is a a mini-displayport to single linke DVI active adapter for one of the others.
If you look at AMD Eyefinity Validated Dongles chart you would find that a Accell B087B-006B qualifies as an mini-displayport to single link DVI active adapter.
So a possible setup would be:
    DVI --> 800 x 600 DVI display #1
    mDP --> B087B-006B --> 800 x 600 DVI display #2
    mDP --> VGA adapter --> 1376 x 7?? display #3

  • W520 FHD LED TFT 95% Gamut Display and Color Sensor with Pantone Calibration - Review

Last week I have received my (first) new Lenovo W520 Thinkpad, which I decided to buy after lots of research on the internet. I am excited about its computing power and feature richness. Its biggest flaw though is the 1920x1080 LED TFT FHD display, which offers the worst color calibration I have seen in a high-end laptop in the last 10 years.
Its color rendering is highly disappointing as it shows unnatural, oversaturated colors that make the monitor useless for professional photo and video editing purposes. Primary tones glare neon-like in a highly disturbing manner. A red stop sign appears pink and flags in the google image search are displayed in a ridiculous way.
I have tried the following approaches to improve the color rendering.
The built-in color sensor in conjunction with the Pantone calibration software lead to the worst outcome. The white background of Windows Explorer becomes yellowish-greenish.
A better outcome canbe achieved using Windows 7 color management for display calibration, which doesn't avoid the neon colors, but at least white is rendered white.
Using the Nvidia graphic card tools and setting back gamma to 0.76 also helps to a very little degree.
Another solution is a free gamma correction tool called QuickMonitorProfile. This brings back the reds to normal tones with the side effect, that all mid-tones are rendered very pale.
I didn't have a possibility to try high-class external calibration hardware. For me the only solution remains to use a decent external monitor.
I have found the following interesting threads related to this topic:
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/How-do-I-lower-the-saturation-on-my-W520-the-r...
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/W510-W520-FHD-color-profile-supplied-by-Lenovo...
    http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Very-happy-with-my-W520/m-p/508841#M18189
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Color sensor is bad joke, it's totally useless. Display gives better results without calibration than calibration with color sensor.
I tested calibration with best possible tools, using Eye One with i1Profiler and results are much better but still it's no way near acceptable for serious photography work. Delta variation is 15-20% (meaning colors are 15-20% off from the correct one, compared to Eizo Coloredge monitors where delta variation is around 2%).
Color sensor is just marketing gimmic for Lenovo. As I have stated on another post, Lenovo needs to get on grip on various BIG problems with their top of the Thinkpad laptops.
