Setting up Email on 8900 with BES

I have had my BB for 2 months and have been using it without BES. I had the email set up with both Outlook and Gmail. I just purchased a 5 user BES license and loaded it to the our network. I am having difficulty getting the BB 8900 to sync. The email only reconciles the MAIN inbox, not the sub-folders. I just got the contacts to sync; however my PUBLIC FOLDER contacts are now mixed with my PERSONAL contacts.
I still have yet to get the calendar to sync over wirelss. I was lead to believe that I can color code my calendar by person who has the appt (I keep 4 peoples calendar and with the Palm each person was color-coded for ease of seeing who had appts for a specif day) I do not see how to do this.
I appreciate any help you can give...other than the above, I love the BB!

You need to provide it with whatever the exact settings are that are required -- and you obtain those settings from your email service provider.
Beyond that, please give us a bit more detail...are you using the Advanced Configuration screens? Are you doing this via the device interface? Via PC/browser? Some other method?
Details please, as well as the exact and complete content of any error messages provided. From what you've said, I don't think that ssl or not is your problem...the actual address of the email server is what it's failing on.

Help setting up email BB9300 with orange(uk)

After my first attempt at setting up email resulted in me bricking my new phone, i thought i would ask for advice here before i attempt it again (on a replacement, thank you orange ).
So, i have upgraded to BBOS6 and everything is working great (browser, facebook, bb msgnr etc.) except i can't get email started, every time i go to email setup it ask me to download an upgrade, fine, but when the upgrade starts a warning flashes up saying that if i continue bb6.11....... will overwrite bb6.000, i thought this would be fine but last time i ended up with a bricked phone, what am i doing wrong? btw if it makes a difference i'm a mac user but have BB desktop installed. I recommend that you
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

I am in an endless loop trying to set up a new password with my AppleID and use it for the Cloud to sync my iPhone, iMac, and MBAir.

Troubleshooting telephone-number activation (iPhone only)
After each step, toggle FaceTime and iMessage off and then on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Ensure that your iPhone is set to the correct time zone. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone is displayed, turn Set Automatically off and then choose the correct time zone, date, and time. Then turn Set Automatically on again.
Ensure that FaceTime has not been restricted: Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
Verify that you can send SMS messages. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime.
Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions or blocks on text messages. Blocks on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration.
If you are unable to activate iMessage or FaceTime on a device after remote wiping it, wait at least 24 hours and try again.
If "Waiting for Activation" is displayed, leave FaceTime and iMessage enabled for 24 hours. Toggling FaceTime or iMessage off and on will cause the registration process to start over.

Set up email (gmail) with BELLE

I upgraded my E6 with BELLE OS. Since then, it is impossible to set up my gmail account. and it is impossible to downgrade to previous OS where it was working. So far, nobody from support team could help me. It is a very regrettable situation. when upgrading my stuff, i expect better experience than before, in this case, it is worse!

I'm also having trouble setting up my Gmail account since "upgrading" my N8 to Belle. After setting up my gmail account with [email protected] and an application-specific password (I've enabled 2-factor auth for my account) none of my messages are downloaded and my phone becomes completely unresponsive. To confirm it was still happening, I just set up my gmail account again and now my phone is unresponsive to all input (power, unlock slider, menu button, camera, touch screen). I will have to hold down the power button, wait for 3 vibrations, and then power it back up and delete my gmail account quickly before it becomes unresponsive again. In the mean time, I hope I'm not getting any phone calls.
Can I get my phone pushed back to Anna? She wasn't perfect but holy **bleep**, this is nuts. The only semi-useful feature of Belle is the pull down notifications bar, but that isn't valuable enough to put up with the rest of this. I wish I hadn't installed Belle. Better yet, I wish I had gone with an Android or a feature phone and hadn't listened to the Symbian fanbois. YAY 12MP CAMERA AND CARL ZEISS OPTICS. ain't doing much now...
I tried emailing customer support and their suggestion was to back up, factory reset the phone, reinstall Belle, and restore from backup. Ugh.

For future reference, Apple support were brilliant - the cure is to plug the IPad into my PC and sync the IPad with Outlook through ITunes. It took a few minutes and worked.

If you have Free sites with creative cloud, then these sites do not allow you to host your email with BC. You can either upgrade your website to higher site plan, or chose one of the alternative email host, given in the following link

Why can't i set up email with my free hosting?

I've just 'gone live' with one of my 'free' five Business Catalyst sites included with my Creative Cloud subscription. I've set up the nameserver to my url and all is working correctly.
However, I can't see how to set up email for this site!
There seems to be no email set-up options in the Admin Console?
Surely email is included in these free sites, they are not worth including otherwise
Please tell me I don't have to upgrade for email.

Email is not included on those free sites. they have a lot of work to beginners, freelances and creatives looking to get something online.

even if you have those 2 covered you will need to
setup the e-mail service even if it's from the same providers
that bring you internet and or phone service
so the answer to your question comes down to what
e-mail provider you're using and if your setup your ios correctly
to receive and send emails over their network
