Setting up email on curve 8310 with tmobile, outage?

I recently bought a curve 8310 at&t but unlocked for tmobile used.  It came with an email address already on it.  I erased it and am still getting those emails but thats not the real problem.  I cannot set up my own email address.  I spent an hour on the phone with tmobile and blackberry support trying to figure this out but after all of that, Tmobile said it is an outage thats been going on for a few days.  Has anyone else had trouble with this or are they just giving an excuse because they can't fix it.
I tried setting up the email on their website and on the phone icons.
I appreciate any help!

Did you ever get this problem resolved? If so could you tell me what you had to do? I also have a Curve 8130 and cannot get tmobile email set up on it.
Thanks
Jim A.

  • How to set up facebook chat on my blackberry curve 8520 with tmobile

    Hi all,
I am new to the chat forum. I have just bought a new blackberry Curve 8520 mobile. I am on pay as you go with tmobile. I am trying to set up a facebook chat on the mobile phone with no success. Perhaps I need someone to help me with the basic instructions. I have set my email and am receiving them.
    Can anybody help, please.

the "Facebook for BlackBerry" application does not support facebook chat.
but other applications like IM+ do support facebook chat.

  • Email problems on Curve 8310 with OS 4.2.2170

I have two email addresses on my blackberry (maybe three). When I go to "compose email," it goes to [default] (which I have no idea which one that is), but Desktop is listed first, then my blackberry email, then my roadrunner email. I also have another "address" that is a .net address that actually just feeds directly into my roadrunner account (I think this is the center of the problem below). This .net address is the one that is listed as my Desktop. How do I change this in general settings???
Problem is that I receive emails very sporadically and I am pretty sure this .net email address is the problem. Sometimes I get emails, sometimes I don't and the problem has been going on a while, despite numerous service book fixes. I also wonder if leaving my outlook open on my desktop when I leave home causes me not to get emails on my device.
sorry for the longwinded email. I'm desperate!

Thank you, Bifocals. I was able to change my Default email to my rr acct. Yet, when I click on "compose email" I still have "Desktop" as an option. In my Gen Settings and scroll all the way to the bottom, I see "Services: Desktop [[email protected]]" When I click on it there is no option to change it. This particular email "address" is affiliated with my alma mater as part of my membership in the texes-exes. I was told that it would feed directly into my primary email account, which is roadrunner (Outlook). I believe I need to get it off of my Device and have my rr account listed as "desktop." I only use the .net address in instances where people will confuse my email address with my husband's. Does that make sense? I know it is confusing, and I aplogize and appreciate your help. This is driving me nuts!

  • Need to link BB Curve 8310 with Microsoft Outlook 8310

I am brand new to the Blackberry world! I just purchased a Blackberry Curve 8310 through AT&T and have the BIS service. How can I link my Blackberry with my Microsoft Outlook 2007 on my personal computer (Windows Vista)? Is it possible to link my BB with Outlook email and calendar without BES? Will the email and calendar snyc throughout the day without being connected to my laptop?

That whould be what you would use to set up on BIS. For me, it's easier to go to your BIS website and do it on the pc.
Do you know where your carriers BIS site is?

  • Problems Setting up Email on Curve 8520

I'm not able to set-up email on my new curve 8520. I know that other people have posted about it before, but I still can't seem to get it working!
I have BIS and have already created a Blackberry ID. Whenever I go to email setup, the only option I'm presented with is "I want to create or add an email address" and when I click next it says "After you click Next teh Blackberry Internet Service setup application opens. After you finish setting up yruo email press the menu key and click close". On the next page , I'm asked for my username and password, and when I fill it in, I always get:
"The information you provided is incorrect. Retype your user name and pasword."
I know that my username and password are correct, as I've double checked them in BlackBerry App World, so the issue has to be coming from somewhere else.
I've contacted Vodafone several times, and RIM but no one has been able to give me a solution for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Heathermac, the username and password for setting up your email on your BIS account is NOT the same as your BlackBerryID... two very different and totally separate things.
You might want to make your BIS login the same as your BlackBerryID, that would be convenient and a good idea, but they are not the same. They are set up differently, and one does not carry over to the other.

  • Email bb curve 8310 and other things

I do not see the email application set up icon like it says in the book it only shows me the blackberry email account setup how can I get something like yahoo email on here?
and when I updated the software I lost the one game the phone came with and the memo pad and the task book anyone know how to get them back?

You need to have the BB Data Plan on your carrier account for hte "personal email setup" icon to appear.
For Memos and Tasks, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see them listed there? If so, look on the BB in all folders (such as Applications) for those two apps.

  • Problems setting up email client (Mac Mail) with BC hosted emails

This issue has me tearing my hair out! My client wanted to take advantage of the 10 emails addresses with WebBasics. Very simple to sort out and the emails are all happily available with mail going in and out through the WebMail interface. Brilliant.
However my client wanted to be able to access her emails through Mac Mail. And I cannot get the outgoing mail to work.
I have followed instructions to the letter, and I can get emails to come in but when I try to send it simply states that the stmp.clientsdomain.com say's it's offline.
I have tried using alternative ports, also using the ISP outgoing mail setting with no luck.
My main issue after speaking to the livechat guys at BC and using Factsheets, is the information on them (screenshots etc) just does not reflect Mac Mail, I admit that I am probably using a later / earlier version but the differences seemt o be huge. For instance, I keep being told that I need to UNTICK the SSL box during configuration. But my version of Mac Mail, doesn't give me the option to tick or untick at any point, it does however throw up a warning message saying that my client's domain is invalid inscure but I can carry on. Similarly when I look at the Account Summary on the FactSheet it says that it should show "SSL:OFF" but when I follow the instructions it states "SSL:ON" . I have gone into preferences afterwards to untick SSL but it still does not work.
    Anyone have an answer?

    Hi Peter,
I'm afraid not, I turned to Apple support forums, followed their advice for troubleshooting Mac Mail (obviously not relevant to you using Outlook) but It involved scanning ports checking firewalls etc, all of this was clear and I just cannot see the problem.
I even got one of the Livechat BC guys to look into it, by setting up a dummy email address on the client's account, I think he was rather intrigued, but I'm not sure he's had much luck as he still hasn't got back to and that was over 20 hours ago.
Can your client receive emails? I can only get my client's account receiving emails, when I try to send an email I just keep receiving an message telling me that it cannot connect to smtp!
According to the BC fact sheet for sending and receiving emails: "By Default, email software will set the SMTP port to 25, which is the standard port for the smtp protocol. However our mail service has two alternative ports available that you can send through. 8025 or 587.
However it's not blocked and those port settings didn't work either.
The Apple fact sheet made mention to firewall settings possibly also blocking, but it's not relevant to me using my version of OS.
Good luck, and please repost if you get any further.
I am now just looking for a reason that my client's mail WONT work on Mac Mail, just so I can sound professional when I tell them the answer is "no".

  • How to set default email address for contact with multiple addresses.

Apologies if this has been asked before, it seems a very basic question but I'm unable to find an answer.
Can a default address be set in Address Book for a contact with multiple addresses? Or if not, which address does it send to "automatically" when this condition exists? I know you can manually select the address you want to use, but what if the contact is added to a group?
    Thanks
    Denis

Thanks for the reply, buy I have no idea what this means.
I have the same question. I have a contact that has five email addresses. When I add the person to a group, Mail automatically selects one of the addresses, but not the one I want. I need to go back and manually select the correct address. Can't I select one of these addresses as the default to be used all the time?
Apologies for not quite understanding the first reply.

  • Setting up email on smart phone with folders on An...

    Hi
I am having trouble settiing up emai on my smart phone. I can set it up ok but cannot get all my folders.
I have followed the guides as listed (even though some is contradictory) using Imap or Pop3 with and without SSL.
Please can someone give me a step by step guide (dont refer me to the links please as some say use IMAP and some say since you have changed from yahoo use pop3) i have done both - neither work!
I dont know what to do!!
    Thanks in advance

To see the folders that are on the BT servers you will need to set your phone email up as an IMAP account. You can use the onboard app or download an email app. I use the Aquamail App and find it very good and was easy to set up.
If you use the onboard app make sure you set it up manually and select IMAP. The Aquamail App more or less sets itself up but if needed youuse the same settings.
    The settings you need are:
    Incoming:
    Username : [email protected]
    Password: xxxxxxxx
    IMAP Server: mail.btinternet.com
    Security: None
    Port:993
    Outgoing:
    SMTP Server: mail.btinternet.com
    Security type: None
    Port: 465
    Require Sign in (Tick box)
    User Name: [email protected]
    Password:xxxxxxx
    Email check frequency: your choice
    Sync Email: Tick box
    Notify: your choice

  • Problem adding another email account curve 8310

I am trying to add another e-mail account.  I go to the wizard, and the message I continue to get is "An error occurred while accessing your account.  Please click below to try again.  There is a hyperlink that says "Access Another Email Account".  When I click on it, nothing happens.  HELP!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
It's hard to tell, but if you receive the error message just after entering your credentials for the new account, then you have either entered something wrongly or the email service is not fully compatible with BIS. I'd suggest that you use a PC/browser to access your carriers BIS:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F
and then create this new BIS conduit from there. If it as well receives the same error, then try entering your correct email address but an incorrect password -- this should bring up the manual/advanced configuration screens on which you can enter all of the pertinent information manually (you will need to know all of the information -- email servers, etc....you will have to get that info from your email provider or from another email client you already have configured for this email account).

  • Setting up Email on my N82, with Orange.

    I have an orange.net email account and would like to be able to send emails via my N82. I have tried a number of settings but with no luck. Does anyone know the appropriate settings I need? For example;
The mailbox type (IMAP4 or POP3)
    The Incoming mail server
    The outgoing mail server
    Thanks
    Adrian

    Adrian 9585,
Thankyou for your reply but I still cannot send email. The message "Connecting to mailbox..." stays on for quite some time before timing out.
The website address for my orange account is http://mdsp.orange.co.uk/
does that mean anything? I have tried various combinations of settings but still with no luck.
I do use my laptop with this account. Where do I find the account settings? I had thought of that before but do not know where to look. Until you mentioned it in your reply I thought I was barking up the wrong tree.
I hope you can help further. Thanks for your reply

  • Unale to set up emails on curve 9300

I have followed all online instructions, device instructions, spent an hour on the phone to Orange and a further hour to Sky emails - to no avail - neither are able to connect my device to my email account.  Just about to throw it at the wall !!!!
Message received "The information you provided is incorrect.  Retype your user name and password.  Your user name and password are case sensitive."
Have tried from my device and also through www.orange.blackberry.co.uk on my computer - following instructions on screen and from advisor over phone.
Nothing is working - am stuck and paying for useless device!!

    baker555,
I highly doubt throwing your phone at the wall will get your e-mail working on your... phone.
Regardless, is it a GMail account? If so unlock your captcha: https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha.
Since you're trying from the website as well I highly doubt the issue is coming from the BlackBerry device.
EDIT: Yes, Sky E-Mail runs on GMail. With a little bit of searching I found what I believe is your answer: https://www.google.com/a/sky.com/UnlockCaptcha

  • Pairing BB Curve 8310 with RNS 510 Volkswagen device

I can't pair my smartphone with my car.
Can I do something to overcome this situation? This obliges me to have two mobiles: one, compatible with the car (r SAP compatible) and a second one which is the BB, for firm business (mainly because e-mails)
This brings me a lot of personal and business problems!
Is that available any software upgrade I can use?
Thanks in advance for any support / clarification
    Regards

I'm not sure if this will work, but it might be worth trying.
Some users with the same car system have mentioned that getting a newer SIM card somehow helped their phones pair.  I'm not entirely sure what the reason for this is, and I can't guarantee that it will work, but it may be worthwhile trying anyhow.
If you do get a new SIM card for your phone and it works, let us know.

  • BBerry Curve 8310 Adding Email Account

Hello, I've used a BBerry Curve 8310 with T Mobile for 2 years with enterprise account, works great, added and removed email addresses as needed.
The "Add/Remove Email Address" feature is no longer on the main page, seems to have disappeared.  I tried "Show All", it is not hidden, just not there.
Tried to add an email account through Setup Wizard, not working.
    A) Is there a way to add back the Add/Remove Email Address feature?
    B) Is there another means of adding/removing an email address?
    Thank you.

go under the blackberry setup icon. there is an icon to do the email setup there.
