Setting up Epson NX420 Printer to Macbook Pro

How do I set up my Epson NX420 to my macbook pro wirelessly? I've installed the Epson software but my printer will not show up in my available printer list and I've tried everything.

Thanks for helping me out.  I'm not seeing Image Capture in my applications folder.
Image Capture has been part OS X for years. You sure that you looking in the correct place...? Look in the main Applications Folder and not the applications folder in your Home Folder.
Additionally:
To correctlly set up a printer in Mavericks, see > OS X Mavericks: Set up a printer
For the Epson NX420 ICA Scanner Driver, go to > Epson Support and follow those instructions.

Very helpful!   My set up was Mac/ Lion trying to Print off a Dell Photo A10 922
Lion does not store any Lexmark, nor dow Apple, but I went to the lexmark site, and found this-
    http://support.lexmark.com/index?productCode=LEXMARK_X5270&page=product&locale=E N&userlocale=EN_US#1
Downloaded that, then hooked up the printer, Cmd-P, and the Mac found the drivers I had loaded.
Works fine.  Now when I go to my sisters, I can print!
byw, I'm probably just a Level 2  "GIYF"er, but your the only one ( of MANY folks) who thought to search Lexmart. I've seen posts by MANY geeks saying a Mac could not print to ANY Dell printer.
    Nice job,

It's not completely obvious. What you have to do in Spaces is to position your cursor to the upper right of the screen, after which faint + (plus) sign appears in that area. Click that, upon which another Desktop will appear.
The + may be difficult or impossible to see with some desktop backgrounds (black, for instance):

Any of these SATA HDDs that are at least the same size as your internal HDD (preferably larger capacity).  In addition you will need an enclosure, preferably one with a Firewire as well as a USB connection.

Does OS Lion 10.7.5 support Airplay mirror of Apple TV 3? I can't find the option in Setting>Display on my mid 2012 MacBook Pro.
I've rebooted all 3 devices, still does not work. Both Apple TV and MBP are on the same wifi. And the Apple TV AirPlay option is on. Can someone help? Thank you.

    About AirPlay and Airplay Mirroring
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). For non-qualifying Macs you can try using Air Parrot.

Thanks to the $15 Beamer, AirPlay streaming is still possible on Macs  that do not support Airplay and mirroring.

  • Help installing Brother 4100e printer on MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion

I can't install my Brother 4100e printer on MacBook Pro. It is listed on the support page as a printer that software is available for. I have updated my software. I have done everything that I know to do. When I plug the printer into my computer it downloads the software but then I get a message that it can't install it because the software is not available from Apple. When I try to manually install the printer the message at the bottom of the box is that the software is available but when I try to install I get a box that says software isn't available.
Its probably something simple I am doing wrong but I don't know what it is. I've been a Windows person all my life and got this Mac a couple months ago from my husband as a gift. If I can't print anything.... I am about to throw it out the window and go back to Windows... that's my frustration level.
    Please help.

I would try a couple of things:
Go to Applications --> Utilities and double click on Disk Utility. In there, select your hard disk in the left pane (should appear as Macintosh HD unless it's been changed). Then click on Repair Permissions.  Try connecting the printer again and going to System Preferences --> Printer and Fax and click on the "+" sign and see if your printer shows up in the left pane.  If it does, click on it to select it and add it.
The above assumes the printer is connected via USB, since you didn't say you were trying to connect it wirelessly.
You might also try, if the above doesn't work, rebooting your MacBook Pro and trying again.

  • When trying to connect to epson nx420 printer it disappears from the list of printers..

how do i select my epson nx420 printer when it automatically disappears when i try to click it?

Are you using IPP or LPD? IPP usually gives better results, if activated at the printer. As for automatic driver selection, it normally doesn't work thru TCP/IP, only thru AppleTalk. So you have to scroll down and look for the specific model. If not there, make sure you don't have a "Lexmark Printer Drivers Update" pending to install on System Update. Or visit the Lexmark.com site and download the drivers file to install.

  • Xerox 8560DN pauses when printing from MacBook Pro (Maverick update)

Xerox 8560DN pauses when printing from MacBook Pro using the printer connected to a Windows XP machine. The printer is fully shared, however when I print, it goes to PAUSE. It displays...Ready to print > Printing > and it pauses.
The Maverick update has changed lots of unecessary setups. What was perfectly working before, not it causes problems.
    Any solution?

    Carolyn Samit,
I did it several times without any success. I think that the Maverick update damaged something.
I also deleted, added and change all settings... Not working. Xerox does not have a Maverick driver available, but today apple released a Xerox printer software update (Version 2.3). After the installation, nothing changed.

  • HT1329 My large iTunes library is on an external hard drive. Can I set up iTunes on my new Macbook Pro and copy the library to it or are there any pitfalls?

I have my large iTunes library on an external hard drive. Can I set up ITunes on my new Macbook Pro and transfer/copy this library to the internal hard drive or are there any problems I should be aware of?

ITs an old Iomega 100gb external HD that has about 90gb of music on it. The Macbook has a 500gb HD. I would like to put the iTunes library on the internal HD so I have room to expand.
    Phil0124 wrote:
You can copy it to the internal hard drive as long as it fits on it. How big is your library, and how big is your internal HD?
The only thing you do not want to do is over-stuff the internal hard drive. The OS needs some space to operate correctly, so if your iTunes library uses up more than say 80 to 85% of the internal HD's available space it may not be a good idea to transfer it over.
With that said, the internal HD will provide slightly faster access to the library than the external would, but other than that, you can point iTunes to the external drive just fine.

How do I set up a VPN on a MacBook Pro that is running Mountain Lion?

Open System Preferences and choose Network. In the left column, click the "+" to add a new interface. In the dialog that appears, name the service and choose the interface type VPN. The rest of the configuration details depends on the VPN settings of the server you are connecting to.
    Hope that helps.

  • How do I set up printing on Macbook pro, iPad, iPhone

I have two homes with Century Link home networks with wireless routers, we use this Macbook pro, two Ipads, two iphones, as well as pc's. We have an Epson R3000 photo printer and an HP envy 114 (airport) how can we make all these computers work on both printers.

For the MacBook Pro and the other PCs, add these printers as you would add any printer.
For Mac OS X Lion (10.7.x), that would be in System Preferences > Hardware > Print & Scan. Unlock the padlock if necessary, then click the "+" below the list of printers, and follow the printer-specific addition procedures.
The iPads and iPhones (iOS devices) can only print to AirPrint-capable printers. The Epson R3000 doesn't seem to have that capability, but the Envy 114 does claim it. Assuming the iPad or iPhone is on the same network as the Envy 114 at the time you attempt to print, the iOS device should find the printer among the available print devices.
For the Epson 3000, there are programs that you can get to allow the MBP or other Mac to act as an AirPrint device on the network and pass the print job along to any printer the Mac can reach. I use one called Printopia. There may be such programs that run on Windows PC; I do not know.
For the Windows PCs, you should ask on a Windows forum, perhaps one specific to the version of Windows that you run on (each of) them.

  • Unable to print to Epson XP30 33 from Macbook Pro

I have a Macbook Pro running on OS X Lion 10.7.5. I recently purchased an Epson XP30-33 printer but am having problems printing. The printer is installed and I have downloaded the latest drivers off the Apple site. When I attempt to print the printer comes up in the dialogue box but when the data is sent to the printer the system just stops and I get an error message - even though it says the printer is ready.

  • I cannot print wirelessly to an Epson 810 from a MacBook Pro (2010). Stopped working with version 4 and has not worked since. Prints fine to Safari, Chrome, and all other programs. Resetting didn't help.

Prints fine with other browsers and programs. Works with my wife's MacBook Pro.

Took it to Apple Genius, they told me it was my memory (incompatible)
Believe the first one.  No one RAM test will reliably indicate RAM is bad.   Once indicated, it has to be replaced.
You have to get RAM made for the mid 2012 13" MacBook Pro.    Just because it says it 4GB of 1600MHz DDR3 memory does not mean it is compatible with your Mac.  You have to buy RAM for Macs with lifetime warranty, that is not ValueRAM, and says the model and its time frame within the year that it was released, and its model number when buying RAM.  Both http://www.macsales.com/ (OWC) and http://www.crucial.com/ sell RAM in that means of attributing what kind of RAM it is.
I ran an internet-based free diagnostic tool and it showed that my hard drive did have bad parts (corrupted? possible to fix or not?) and it was acting irregularly...
What tool?  Some are known to damage software components of drives.  Especially any that address system cache.
