Setting up Excel CI connect for FSCM 9.1 VM templates

I want to use the Excel to CI in the FSCM VM Demo system. I have set up VM templates and application designer but I cannot make my Excel to CI work, would anyone know what connect information, I tried the following and then try to connect as user VP1/VP1 and tried to open the VNDR_CI_EXCEL CI

  • WHY do we set up a RFC connection for workflows

    Guys please tell me why do we setup a RFC connection for workflows.
    I am getting few dumps for function module IDOC_ERROR_WORKFLOW_START_R in transsactional RFC connection.
    Looks like it is because of temporary disconnection.
    i want to know what is the relationship of RFC with wirkflows.
    Thanks in advance

    Quoting text in automatic WF customizing transaction (SWU3):
    Function
    The workflow runtime system always executes its tRFC (transactional RFC) calls on the logical destination WORKFLOW_LOCAL_xxx (xxx stands for the three-digit number of the client).
    The workflow runtime system only operates within one client. The naming for the logical destination guarantees that these names are unique across the system.
    If you carry out this activity automatically, the logical RFC destination WORKFLOW_LOCAL_xxx is created (if it does not already exist). The user WF-BATCH (system user) is assigned to this destination.
    If you belong to the SUPER user group, and the WF-BATCH user does not exist, it is created and automatically gets the maximum authorization of the current user (SY-UNAME). This function is to be performed once by a user who belongs to the SUPER user group.
    If you perform this activity manually, you can maintain another system user and another password.
    In SWU3 you can configure RFC destination.

  • BW Authorization and setting issue to set up a BICS connection for Xcelsius

    We are trying to create a BICS connection with Xcelsius on our BW production system and would like to know what the minimal settings should be to be able to publish and run an Xcelsius dashboard. We have been able to make a BICS connection with Xcelsius and publish and run/launch the dashboard on BW development. BW Development is completely open; there are no restrictions on the settings. But of course we cannot open our production like this. We have tried to open our BW test according to the SAP NetWeaver How to Guide: How to... Create Authorization Objects Required to Work with Xcelsius Dashboards in SAP BW. We have done the following:
    First of all we get the following message when saving a Xcelsius file to BW, when all the settings are equal to the production settings (not modifiable):
    ! The specified technical name is not valid for the permitted namespace
    !     R7     063     Namespace u2018/BICS/u2019 must be set to u2018changeableu2019 (transaction SE06)
    After that we changed the settings on our BW test environment to modifiable by doing the following steps:
    1.     SCC4 (System temporarely open; after changing the system change options by SE06; the system will be closed again)
    2.     SE06 (Namespace /BIC/ to modifiable)
    After that when trying to do the same thing as before, saving the Xcelsius file to BW, we get the following error message:
    ! The specified technical name is not valid for the permitted namespace
    !     R7     017     Namespace u2018u2019 is not a valid BI namespace
    And also this message:
    Diagnosis
    Namespace u2018u2019 must be entered in both the BI table RSNSPACE and the basis table TRSNSPACE or the view V_TRNSPACE. You also have to enter the relevant generation namespace u2018&V2u2019 in table TRNSPACE. This value is taken from RSNSPACE.
    Both namespaces must be set to u2018Changeableu2019 u2013 providing they are not empty.
    System Response
    You cannot edit or create an object in this namespace.
    Procedure
    Use a different name.
    Or contact your system administrator. He/she can switch the namespace to u2018Changeableu2019  using transaction SE06, or -  if they do not already exist - enter them in the table named above using transaction SM30.
    If the namespace u2018&V1u2019 is empty, then the problem is with the generation namespace u2018/BIC/u2019.
    Procedure for the System Administrator
    Following this error message:
    X    System is not set to changeable u2013 objects are not changeable
    When everything is set to modifiable and the BW test environment is fully open, we are able to publish the Xcelsius file to BW and the dashboard can be run on the BW data.
    What we would like to know what the minimal settings should be to be able to publish and run/launch the Xcelsius dashboard without completely setting the production setting open. And what are the other consequences of adjusting the BW production settings; any drawbacks?

    Hello,
    goto transaction RSA1 – transport Connection – button « Object Changeability » - in the list please switch ligne XCLS as « Changeable ».
    Hope that works
    Best regards

    Hi,
    Actually  we have UCS 6248 fabric interconnect - first twelve ports are enabled  and same in Cisco UCS Manager.
    But when more port will be active by expansion module  then UCSM can manage that too or need any other licence  for UCSM too?

  • I am purchasing a macBook Pro. I want to set up a wifi connection for it. However, I have an old Power PC  machine that I would also like to keep connected to the internet. Is there any way to do this without a lot of hassle?

    Can I link an old Power PC and a new macBook Pro on a network so that the PowerPC remains directly connected to the internet and the new macBook Pro can have wireless capabilities?

    jrglr wrote:
    ... Will one of the ports on the router still allow the G4 to connect to the internet?
    Yes. Ethernet is simple. OS X constantly and relentlessly searches for any network connection it can find. Plug it in and it will work.
    Are you considering the Linksys EA3500 or something similar? Get what you want but be sure to read its reviews first. In my opinion Linksys consumer grade products suffered after Cisco's acquisition of them, and their customer support went from poor to abysmal.
    A genuine Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station is more expensive, but not much more so. Its advantage is the ability to be configured with AirPort Utility whereas other routers either use dedicated Windows software or a browser interface. Read its reviews too then decide for yourself.
    If you already have an Ethernet switch the additional port of the EA3500 is superfluous. You could just as easily use the less expensive AirPort Express, $99 before discounts. It has almost all the features of the Extreme including simultaneous dual band wireless, and in addition can also stream iTunes music to remote speakers through its audio port. The major difference between the Extreme and the Express is the latter's lack of additional LAN ports, so just use your switch.
    All AirPort Base Stations support printing through their USB port, and all are guaranteed to be compatible with AirPrint should you ever need to.

    <b>HTTP Settings</b>
    host: pedroxp
    port: 50000
    user: Administrator
    The same values are in the <b>CIM Client generation Setting</b>

  • Hello,I wonder if it's possible to set up another wireless connection for using on airplay. My airplay works but I can't get on the internet while using it.

    Hello,I would like to know if this is possible.

    Well, first of this isn't making sense. I would fix the problem, instead of just trying to skirt around it, and still end up with the same problem.

  • Can I set sidekick's Allowed Components for a parsys at the Template level?

    The components page section on parsys[1] explains that you can set the sidekick's Allowed Components for a parsys by clicking Design Mode (ruler icon) in sidekick, then clicking Edit on the parsys and putting a checkmark on the components you want.  We are defining templates for our authoring users and I don't want them to have to go through that effort for every page.  I want to define something at the Template level which specifies the Allowed Components so that the user can use WCM New Page and the parsys on the page will already be set up right.  How do I do this?
    Our template has sling:resourceType=/apps/hello/components/ourpage, and ourpage has a JSP which specifies:
        <cq:include path="par" resourceType="hello/components/ourparsys"/>
    We just copied ourparsys from the foundation parsys.  Inside it has a design_dialog, which I double-clicked in CRXDE Lite and I see the Design View ("Edit Component," "ParSys (Design)").  I put a checkmark on one of the Allowed Components, clicked Save, but the checkmark was not saved.  When I closed this view and double-clicked the design_dialog again, the checkmark was gone, and when I went to WCM Websites and made a New Page from our template the sidekick still did not show our desired component.
    So please advise, is there any way to set Allowed Components so it will take effect on all New Page webpages made from a given template?
    [1] http://wem.help.adobe.com/enterprise/en_US/10-0/wem/wcm/default_components.html#Paragraph System (parsys)

    Thanks, I was expecting to define this on the Template but you are completely right, it is the Designer in /etc/designs.  One thing I noticed that I want to point out to people is that when I edit a New Page instance in Design View, click Edit on a par, that it does in fact create this property "components" on the par inside /etc/designs/ourdesign, but it uses type String instead of String[] Multi.  So I deleted the scalar "components" and remade a new array "components" property with String[] Multi.

  • How to set min & max connections for  MSSQLconnection pool

    Hi,
    I want to set minconnection, maxconnection, idletimeout initial limit for the pool

    ds.setPassword("starhome");
    con = ds.getConnection();
    }catch(Exception e){}

    prop.setProperty("AbandonedConnectionTimeout", m_abandonedTimeout);
    prop.setProperty("ConnectionWaitTimeout", m_connWaitTimeout);
    m_connSource.setConnectionCacheProperties(prop);I dont know how to pass min and max number of connection properties for SQLServerDataSource. Is there any method available to pass min and max number of connection properties for SQLServerDataSource.
    Iam using Tomcat. I found one way to set min and max connections for pool by doing changes in context.xml and web.xml using below url http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-4.1-doc/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html
    I dont want to touch tomcat configuration files. I need to set connection pooling properties which is independent of application server.
    Please anybody give solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Prisha

    Hi,
    you need to define your database under the DB Admin tab. In the Schema objects node you'll find Sequence Implementations, and there you can definde min max values as well as caching and increments.

  • JRA connection for Basque Language

    We are having problem in setting up the JRA  connection for Basque language(eu),  It throws up the exception in java code as "JCO_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE - Install the language pack ".
    We can logon on to SAP back end with language code "eu",
    We are using NW 7.01 and as per the CE 7.3 doc, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/48/883f9f77323cb8e10000000a42189d/frameset.htm, it maps to the Logon language code. Assuming the same documentation also holds for NW 7.01.
    Very much appreciated, if any inputs to the above issue.
    Thanks & Regds,
    JC

    Hi,
    I just read about JRA and found the following facts.
    'The SAP Java Resource Adapter (SAP JRA) is a J2EE -compatible connector for SAP systems. It enables the integration of SAP systems with J2EE application servers. The SAP JRA implements the standard J2EE interfaces for the SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo), thus simplifying communication between heterogeneous, distributed J2EE landscapes and SAP.
    You can use the SAP JRA to call remote functions of an SAP system by executing RFC calls via TCP/IP.'
    So I believe since its just an add-on like thing which connects to the SAP system via SAP JCO you shouldn't worry about connecting to message server.
    Since while creating a JCO connection you can define whether it should be a load-balanced or not.
    Check this link.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/3a/3b1b40fcdd8f5ce10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    another example would be found here...

    hope that clears your doubt.

  • Access denial to mdb connections for asp

    I am new to DW asp but am confident with CSS.
    When setting up my asp connection for a mdb I get a successful test but then get "Access to C:\inetpub\wwwroot\nationalex_root\Connections\connnationalex.asp denied" on OK
    The Connections folder doesn't seem to be set up. Any ideas?
    Kev

    You'll need to set up a datasource in IIS. Also, after doing this make sure that your Access database is not "locked" or write protected, this can easily happen when using access, especially if you are working on the database in MS Access off and on during development.

  • How do I set miminum # of connections for pool with Oracle and Tomcat?

    Hi,
    I can't seem to find any attribute to initialize the number of connections for my connection pool. Here is my current context.xml file under my /App1 directory:
    <Context path="/App1" docBase="App1"
    debug="5" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
    <Resource name="App1ConnectionPool" auth="Container"
    type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
    driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
    factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
    url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@127.0.0.1:1521:oddjob"
    user="app1" password="app1" />
    </Context>
    I've been googling and reading forums, but haven't found a way to establish the minimum number of connections. I've tried all sorts of parameters like InitialLimit, MinLimit, MinActive, etc, with no success.
    Here is some sample code that I am testing:
    package web;
    import oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource;
    import oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.Statement;
    import java.util.Properties;
    public class ConnectionPool {
    String message = "Not Connected";
    public void init() {
    OracleConnection conn = null;
    ResultSet rst = null;
    Statement stmt = null;
    try {
    Context initContext = new InitialContext();
    Context envContext = (Context) initContext.lookup("java:/comp/env");
    OracleDataSource ds = (OracleDataSource) envContext.lookup("App1ConnectionPool");
    message = "Here.";
         String user = ds.getUser();
    if (envContext == null)
    throw new Exception("Error: No Context");
    if (ds == null)
    throw new Exception("Error: No DataSource");
    if (ds != null) {
    message = "Trying to connect...";
    conn = (OracleConnection) ds.getConnection();
    Properties prop = new Properties();
    prop.put("PROXY_USER_NAME", "adavey/xxx");
    if (conn != null) {
    message = "Got Connection " + conn.toString() + ", ";
              conn.openProxySession(OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_USER_NAME,prop);
    stmt = conn.createStatement();
    rst = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT username, server from v$session where username is not null");
    while (rst.next()) {
    message = "DS User: " + user + "; DB User: " + rst.getString(1) + "; Server: " + rst.getString(2);
    rst.close();
    rst = null;
    stmt.close();
    stmt = null;
    conn.close(); // Return to connection pool
    conn = null; // Make sure we don't close it twice
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    } finally {
    // Always make sure result sets and statements are closed,
    // and the connection is returned to the pool
    if (rst != null) {
    try {
    rst.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    rst = null;
    if (stmt != null) {
    try {
    stmt.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    stmt = null;
    if (conn != null) {
    try {
    conn.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    conn = null;
    public String getMessage() {
    return message;
    I'm using a utility to repeatedly call a JSP page that uses this class and displays the message variable. This utility allows me to specify the number of concurrent web requests and an overall number of requests to try. While that is running, I look at V$SESSION in Oracle and occassionaly, I will see a brief entry for app1 or adavey depending on the timing of my query and how far along the code has processed in this example. So it seems that I am only using one connection at a time and not a true connection pool.
    Is it possible that I need to use the oci driver instead of the thin driver? I've looked at the javadoc for oci and the OCIConnectionPool has a setPoolConfig method to set initial, min and max connections. However, it appears that this can only be set via Java code and not as a parameter in my context.xml resource file. If I have to set it each time I get a database connection, it seems like it sort of defeats the purpose of having Tomcat maintain the connection pool for me and that I need to implement my own connection pool. I'm a newbie to this technology so I really don't want to go this route.
    Any advice on setting up a proper connection pool that works with Tomcat and Oracle proxy sessions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    Well I did some more experiments and I am able to at least create a connection pool within my example code:
    package web;
    import oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource;
    import oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.Statement;
    import java.util.Properties;
    public class ConnectionPool {
    String message = "Not Connected";
    public void init() {
    OracleConnection conn = null;
    ResultSet rst = null;
    Statement stmt = null;
    try {
    Context initContext = new InitialContext();
    Context envContext = (Context) initContext.lookup("java:/comp/env");
    OracleDataSource ds = (OracleDataSource) envContext.lookup("App1ConnectionPool");
    message = "Here.";
         String user = ds.getUser();
    if (envContext == null)
    throw new Exception("Error: No Context");
    if (ds == null)
    throw new Exception("Error: No DataSource");
    if (ds != null) {
    message = "Trying to connect...";
    boolean cache_enabled = ds.getConnectionCachingEnabled();
    if (!cache_enabled){
    ds.setConnectionCachingEnabled(true);
    Properties cacheProps = new Properties();
    cacheProps.put("InitialLimit","5");
         cacheProps.put("MinLimit","5");
    cacheProps.put("MaxLimit","10");
    ds.setConnectionCacheProperties(cacheProps);
              conn = (OracleConnection) ds.getConnection();
    Properties prop = new Properties();
    prop.put("PROXY_USER_NAME", "adavey/xyz");
    if (conn != null) {
    message = "Got Connection " + conn.toString() + ", ";
              conn.openProxySession(OracleConnection.PROXYTYPE_USER_NAME,prop);
    stmt = conn.createStatement();
    //rst = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT 'Success obtaining connection' FROM DUAL");
    rst = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT user, SYS_CONTEXT ('USERENV', 'SESSION_USER') from dual");
    while (rst.next()) {
    message = "DS User: " + user + "; DB User: " + rst.getString(1) + "; sys_context: " + rst.getString(2);
    message += "; Was cache enabled?: " + cache_enabled;
    rst.close();
    rst = null;
    stmt.close();
    stmt = null;
    conn.close(OracleConnection.PROXY_SESSION); // Return to connection pool
    conn = null; // Make sure we don't close it twice
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    } finally {
    // Always make sure result sets and statements are closed,
    // and the connection is returned to the pool
    if (rst != null) {
    try {
    rst.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    rst = null;
    if (stmt != null) {

    } catch (SQLException e) {
    conn = null;
    public String getMessage() {
    return message;
    In my context.xml file, I tried to specify the same Connection Cache Properties as attributes, but no luck:
    <Context path="/App1" docBase="App1"
    debug="5" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
    <Resource name="App1ConnectionPool" auth="Container"
    type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
    driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
    factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
    url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@127.0.0.1:1521:oddjob"
    user="app1" password="app1"
    ConnectionCachingEnabled="1" MinLimit="5" MaxLimit="20"/>
    </Context>
    These attributes seemed to have no effect:
    ConnectionCachingEnabled="1" ; also tried "true"
    MinLimit="5"
    MaxLimit="20"
    So basically if I could find some way to get these attributes set within the context.xml file instead of my code, I would be a happy developer :-)
    Oh well, it's almost Miller time here on the east coast. Maybe a few beers will help me find the solution I'm looking for.

  • Excel Services Connectivity on Sharepoint 2013 for external user

    Currently , external user is able to refresh the data on sharepoint site through browser. the data connection is pointing the one of the external data source. But how can an external user (Internet user which accessing sharepoint through internet) download
    a copy of excel in sharepoint library and open the excel workbook with data refresh ability at client machine ?
    Do we need client machine to be able to access / ping the external data source?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the response.
    They want to perform data analysis and design their own report with own template , for example : to remove subtotal from the powerpivot tables which we cannot change the formatting at the excel services at browser level.
    So if i understand correctly, we need to get the client machine to be able to access to the database server directly to get the access to the cube for data analysis although we had this odc file connection setup, am i right?
    For internal user, network team should open port / access for them to access database server directly.
    For external user, either to open public access to the database server directly or setup a VPN connection for the external user to access the database server in their secure network.
    Let me know if i understand this correctly.
    Thanks.
