Setting up exchange calendar on iCal for existing exchange account

I already had my exchange email setup in Mail (which is working exactly as before), so there was no Mail setup so it didn't run (I'm guessing) the auto setup for calendar and address book to make use of the new integration. So how do I do that without disturbing my existing Mail setup? I don't see anything in iCal in add-calendar that allows you to specify that its on an exchange server. Likewise for address book.
Of course maybe this did run and our exchange server does not have auto-discovery on or is not 2007 (I'm looking into that as well).

Yes clock/date is correct (via ntp).
Mail was already setup for me since this was an update from 10.5 . I don't recall that the setup thing did any sort of "welcome to mail" thing as it was already setup, and I wouldn't want to create a new account anyway. I want it to run auto-discovery( (for address book and calendar) on my existing mail (exchange) account.

  • Setting up Wiki Calendars in iCal with Active Directory Accounts

I'm Having a little trouble wrapping my head around our Wiki Calendar Solution,
Id like to find a way to get the 10.6 Wiki Server Calendar's in iCal Client - using our active directory authentication.
I have a test 10.6 Server bound to our Active Directory with Wiki's up and running and am able to log in with AD account's and view and manage the Wiki Calendar - I can see how to subscribe to the calendar's - But I need full integration with iCal and maybe even Outlook - subscribing only provides read access.
anyone have any idea how his can be accomplished in and active directory setting - my searches have lead me to OD solutions and thats not going to work.

I don't know how much I'll be able to help, but I do have AD accounts using wiki services. Can you verify a few things:
    1. The AD group is listed in the "Wiki Creators" box in Server Admin, yes?
    2. If you open Terminal and run "sudo serveradmin settings teams:enableClearTextAuth", does it return "teams:enableClearTextAuth = yes"?
    3. If you open System Preferences -> Accounts and then edit the directory servers, does the AD domain show as working normally?
Also, have you worked to isolate the problem? Have you tried creating an OD user to test against the wiki? Are the logs showing anything?

  • Remove Exchange Calendar from iCal

I have an Exchange Calendar in iCal (Mountain Lion) that I want to remove. How can I do this? If I select it and choose Edit the Delete option is greyed out. The account is not listed in Preferences > Advanced either.
I want to delete it because every time I receive an invitiation in Outlook for Mac, the invite is being placed in the iCal calendar, but does not appear in my Outlook calendar.

I think I discovered where iCal/Calendar is getting the Exchange calendar data from. Initially I wondered whether the iPad/iPhone were doing something odd, but no, the Exchange mail account was set to sync Contacts and Calendar on both, via Active Sync.
I then plugged both devices into the Macbook and opened iTunes and checked the Info tab - "Sync Calendars" was not ticked.
I then discovered that in Mountain Lion a change was made to the Mac System Preferences under Mail, Contacts and Calendar - I saw my Exchange account listed and so clicked to edit it. It brought up a screen showing that Calendar was ticked. I unticked this and my appointments sent to me in Outlook are no longer appearing in ical - which is what i wanted.
Hope this might help someone else.

  • Does anyone know how to change where incoming (via mail) calendar requests go on my MacBook? Mine insist on going to Entourage, which I don't use any more. I've tried setting the default calendar in iCal preferences. Doesn't help. Bugs me. Can you help?

I know this email is confusing and really hard to understand...perhaps now you will know how i've been feeling--lost and confused with all the mis-information, with a hit and miss phone, and out of time with all the 1 1/2 hr to 2 hrs EACH wasted on this issue.
On top of all this, I can't even find out how to file a complaint with anyone higher up than Customer Service.
I hate to tell you this, but you didn't write an email. You wrote a discussion post on the Verizon Wireless Community forum which is a public peer to peer forum. Unfortunately since you didn't mark your post as a question, the VZW reps that roam this community won't ever see your post. Before you re-post it, don't. Duplicate posts get removed from the community.
I see there were several missteps both by the reps and yourself in your post. First you should have insisted on returning the phone within the 14 day return policy period. Second which Samsung Galaxy mini model did you purchase? The S3 mini or the S4 mini? Did you do any research prior to deciding on this device. The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?

  • View colleagues' exchange calendar in iCal?

    Hi!
I can see my own Exchange calendar just fine with iCal 4 from the corporate Exchange server.  However, colleagues have also shared their Exchange calendars with me - which I can see just fine on Webmail / Exchange 2007, but I would also like to view these shared calendars in iCal.
Any help would be well appreciated!
    Thank you,
    Greg.

    Hi guys,
    "googling" I found this applescript:
    tell application "iCal"
              set color of calendar "Calendar" to choose color default color {0, 0, 0}
    end tell
Waiting for an Apple fix, you can use this. It's wok like a charm!

  • Manually change color of Exchange calendar in iCal?

Good evening. Got kind of an odd problem...and not really sure when it became an issue, although I think it happened after I upgraded to Lion. But for whatever reason I cannot get to the 'Get Info' part of one of my calendars that is an Exchange calendar. I can right-click on all of my iCloud calendars and get to the get info section in order to change colors, sharing, etc, but when I click the get info option on my Exchange calendar, nothing happens.
Not sure when this became the case, because I know I used to be able to change the color.
Was wondering if maybe there was a preference file that I could manually edit in order to change the color, or if someone else has run into this and found a solution.
    Thanks a bunch.

  • Publish Exchange calendar from iCal

I've gotten my Exchange calendar to work with iCal nicely using 10.6. This is great. But:
Is there a way to publish an Exchange calendar that is in iCal? The "Publish" option is grayed out for my Exchange calendars.
I can publish other calendars just fine (after forcing iCal to work in 32 bit mode).
Note that I am not talking about syncing to MobileMe. I know that this is not supported. However, I expected that I could "publish" to a web server, such as the one hosted by MobileMe.
For a while now, I've done this by using Entourage to sync Exchange to iCal. The Entourage calendar can be published to the web. I was really hoping that with 10.6 I could finally stop using Entourage.

I'm having a similar issue. My boss has set up a calendar in exchange that is synced with my iCal, and the appointments do appear, however my personal calendar from exchange is not showing any of my appointments... any ideas?

  • Calendar won't import existing Exchange events.

    Hi
I've been using an old 2007 MacBook Pro running OSX Lion to sync my MS Exchange email, contacts and calendar to Mail, Address Book and Calendar in OSX without issue.
I've just got a new MacBook Pro 13" running Mountain Lion and have set it all up as usual.  Address book and Mail are synching perfectly, but for some weird reason it's not importing any of my existing Exchange events.
I've tested the settings by putting a new event into Calendar to see if it appears in Exchange web portal (it does), and have then deleted it in the web portal to see if it deletes from Calendar (it does), so adding and deleting new stuff works fine, but anything that was in my Exchange calendar before I set up my new MacBook won't appear.
I've thought about importing the appointments from my old MacBook, but that will just double everything up on the Exchange end of things I suppose.
Any ideas how to get these events to appear?
    Thanks in advance.

Ok, sorted this by completing the process in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4173886?start=0&tstart=0
    Open Calendar.
Go to the Calendar menu and select Preferences.
    Select the Accounts tab.
Remove the Exchange server account which is giving you the error messages.  This calendar will be removed from the Calendar app.
Go to System Preferences and click on the "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" pane, find your Exchange server account, and check the "Calendars & Reminders" option to re-enable your calendar.
Your Calendar should now sync properly.

  • Can't share Exchange calendar in iCal (CalExhangeErrorDomain 239)

I'm on a Microsoft Exchange 2007 server and I'm trying to share my calendar events with the other users in the office using Snow Leopard's iCal. I've gone through the delegation process and have no problems viewing theirs, but when I try to share mine, I get the attached error that reads
"The server responded with an error. Unknown error from Exchange Server. CalExchangeErrorDomain 239."
Other Mac users on our network have been able to share calendar events with Outlook users no problem (albeit through Entourage...puke) so I don't think it's a server issue, unless its just an issue with my account.
Anybody have any suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi there,
I have tested this out on my backup disk and there is a slight modification to the method. Will highlight this with quotation.
    ================================================================================ ==
It appears that once upgraded to Mavericks, the calendar folders are no longer compatible with the latest version of iCal. Hence why it crashes.
    To remediate,
    Close the iCal App
Duplicate the folder (For Backup reason)     /Users/YOURPROFILE/Library/Calendar
Delete all content with in      /Users/YOURPROFILE/Library/Calendar
    Go to:-
System Prefences | Internet Account | iCloud
    Uncheck Calendars, Recheck Calendars
    Select the iCloud profile
Press "-" to delete the whole iCloud profile.
Recreate the iCloud profile by select "+" then iCloud
Enter your iCloud Username and Password
It will asked you if you wish to merge the database. (You may have to do this more then once)
    For every other google calendar
Uncheck Calendars (if already checked), Recheck Calendars
Hopefully this will recreate all the calender folders within /Users/YOURPROFILE/Library/Calendar and start re-syncing.
Once you are satified that all your calender are syncing, delete the /Users/YOURPROFILE/Library/Calendar copy
    Good Luck.

  • Setting the default calendar within iCal

When I click on an appointment within an Email, it is added to iCal as expected. However, I would like to have appointments imported to a specific calendar within iCal by default. How do I do that?

    sevenpercentsolution,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Click on an eligible event to display a contextual menu, and select "Create New iCal Event..." Then choose the appropriate calendar in the "calendar" field of the "New Event" window. This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but it is as close as you will get to setting a default addition.
If you right click on the eligible entry there will be additional contextual menu choices which may or may not be useful.
    ;~)

  • How do you set the default calendar in iCal

I have 6 different calendar. I want a certain one to be the default calendar in iCal but cannot figure out how to make it happen.

    Andrew,
The most you can do to the calendar you want to be 'default or so say' is to drag it to the top of the list in iCal. What that will do is if you get an invitation in Mail it will add it to that top calendar.
If you mean you want to be able to choose were your Notes and To Do's goto? Go to while in mail (Mail)/(Preferences)/(Composing)/ and in the (Create Notes & To Do's in:) select (On My Mac). Now you will have an option of what calendar you want to use when you make the Note/To Do.
Other then that you have to select the Calendar you want as default.
    Hope that helps,
    Weston

  • Calendar sync broken for Google Apps accounts

The Calendar no longer syncs with my Google Apps account; not in either direction.  It pops up the sync notification and reports success, but nothing changes.  I tried removing and adding the account.  This actually broke in 1.2.1, but by the time I noticed, I assumed a fix was around the corner.  1.3.1 didn't help.  I even created a brand new test account using the newly enhanced support for Google Apps.  Mail and contacts work fine, but the calendar won't budge.  Palm, I can give you the test account to play with if you'd like.
My standard Gmail account calendar syncs just fine.  Saw the troubleshooting for standard account calendars and tried playing with the invitation options in my Apps account to no avail.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

#1 is good already.  I tried changing the other differences: Default View was month, Location had my zip code, Automatically Add Invitations was set to Yes.
#2 using network settings correctly had me in Central, but it said Regina, Canada.  Changed it to Chicago and rebooted, but I'm still not syncing either way on my account nor the test account.
Here's the really odd thing.  My Pre has all four of your entires on the test account from the 3rd and 4th.  I just tried creating entries for the test account from both my Pre and desktop, and I'm not seeing any syncing.  I've forced it about five times over the past 20 minutes.
Sounds like we're down to it either being homebrew's fault or something stuck in my launch day profile that would survive a wipe.  I wiped my phone under 1.3.1 to undo a lot of homebrew cruft, but I still can't say I ever tested this in a virgin state.  Enh.  Go ahead and close the ticket.  My workaround is fine with me.  Feel free to keep using the test account for other stuff if you want.

  • How to set up the "incoming Mail server" for google apss account

how to set up the "incoming Mail server" for google apss account

The settings are not generic for all webmail accounts, only your office IT department would know what the server address is for their outgoing email server.  You'll have to ask them about it.

  • How can I set up a separate email signature for each mail account?

Any way to set up a unique signature for each mail account on the Iphone, seems to be just 1 standard signature?

Always worth jotting a quick note off to Apple about it, if you'd like to see it in a future iOS version (enough people ask for a feature, and it's more likely to happen).

  • Is there a Google Sync Alternative for sync'ing Exchange Calendar with iCal?

Previously, I was using Google Sync (one-way) to sync calender events between my microsoft outlook calendar and google calendar which I then had sync'd with my iphone.  I had to format my computer and now when I try looking for the software (Google Sync) it looks to only be available for Google Apps Business Accounts now.  I read up online and it looks like Google has made this change earlier in the year.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can have my outlook calendar events updated on my iphone without connecting directly to the exchange server?
    Thanks

Google calendar will sync with your phone directly. Choose Calendar as one of the things to sync under your Gmail acount settings. I would then check the Google help docks for information on how to sync your computer calendar to Google Calendar.
For what it's worth, I stopped using a calendar app on my computer years ago. I just go directly to the Google Calendar through my browser. Yes, I actually do have it synced to iCal but, as I hate iCal, I never look at that app or use it to enter appointments.
