Setting up Extremely Large Manuals

I have been a Robohelp user for 7 years, but mostly, I have
created 5 to 50-page .chm files. Now I need to create a manual with
2000 to 3000 pages to place online for users to access via our
company website. When compiled, it is already 6 mgs, and I've
barely started. Does anyone have suggestions as to whether I should
keep adding info to this one or divide it into sections? If I do
make several sections, can they be linked together?
Thanks for any and all help with this.

The issue is not whether you can have large CHM or webhelp
files but large RH projects. I've worked on RH projects of
approximately 1000 topics each with no real problems (apart from
opening the darn project which took an age). It may prove easier to
split up a project of your size into chapters and merge them. You
can do this no matter whether you produce CHMs, webhelp or
flashhelp. Which ever way you go, things will not get lost so don't
worry. The compile will include exactly what you tell it to and
provided all the output is shipped and installed in the correct
location you won't loose anything.

    Thanks In advance,

Well if you want to export in I think you have to manually do it.
The workaround it to open your aperture library by right clicking it and show contents...
Then go into your project right click show contents...
In here there are sub folders on dates that the pictures were added to those projects. If you open the sub folder and search for your pictures name it should be in that main folder.
You can just copy it out as you would any normal file to any other location.
Voila you have manually exported out your file.
There is a very similar post that has been close but again you can't export the original file that you are working on - FYI http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2075419

  • Icloud email on an ipad2 will not open due to an extremely large email

I accidentally sent an email to my me.com account that was extremely large and now I cannot access my iCloud mail without it immediately shutting dow. I'm not even able to delete the mail because it won't stay open long enough for me to delete it.  Once I select the email, my email program immediately shuts down.  How do I get rid of this darn email so that I can even use my icloud mail??

I have tried restarting the iPad, have tried to deal with it on my iPhone with the same results. The mail application just shuts down when I open it. I can't even select the email to delete it before it shuts down.
I tried going to iCloud.com, but when I do I seem to get a cover page that just gives me the option to "set up iCloud on this device" (it already is), "install find my iPhone" (also already installed), or "install find my friends".  No way to access mail from that page, although I have heard that there should be.  I even tried to access it by going to iCloud.co/#mail and many other combinations.
    Any other suggestions?

  • How to extend PlainDocument for an extremely large Jtextarea?

I'm trying to extend the PlainDocument class in order to use an external file for saving an extremely large document that's being scrolled in a jtextarea. The document is read-only after it's created. My class uses its own insertString to capture the document as it's created, and sets the length to be passed back by the getLength method. However, the getText requests seem to ignore this length, and only ask for the first character of the document. Any ideas on how to get this to work correctly, or is there a better approach to the general problem?
    Thanks,
    Hartley

Some more background on this is that when running without the document model, it ran out of heap space. The heap space required was about 4 times the size of the total length I was trying to display, and from research, I think that this is due to the default gap management in the document, keeping possibly multip[le copies of the individual strings that I was appeanding into the text area.  I'm aware that I could split the large input into some individual segments, but the user requirement is to be able to search the document for specific text occurrences, which would not be possible with one search if there were multiple segments.  The obvious solution seemed to be the use of the PlainDocument to manage the storage myself.  I did a lot of searching for examples of how to use it, but they all seemed to be limited to invoking the remove(...) method to cut down on the size, or to do some sort of editing as lines were inserted.  I've actually tried several different ways of handling the getText and insertString methods, and tracing the arguments they're called with.  I just can't figure out why the basic theory of what I'm doing doesn't work - there's more involved but I can't find out what it is.

I already applied "Note 1127156 - Safety belt: Result set is too large". I imported Support Package 13 for SAP NetWeaver 7. 0 BI Java (BIIBC13_0.SCA / BIBASES13_0.SCA / BIWEBAPP13_0.SCA) and executed the program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN (in transaction SE38), with the object and the value like Note 1127156 says... but the problem still appears....
what Should I be missing ??????  How can I fix this issue ????
Thank you very much for helping me out..... (Any help would be rewarded)

  • WAD : Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration

    Hi All,
When trying to execute the web template by giving less restiction we are getting the below error :
Result set is too large; data retrieval restricted by configuration
Result set too large (758992 cells); data retrieval restricted by configuration (maximum = 500000 cells)
But when we try to increase the number of restictions it is giving output. For example if we give fiscal period, company code ann Brand we are able to get output. But if we give fical period alone it it throwing the above error.
Note : We are in SP18.
Whether do we need to change some setting in configuration? If we yes where do we need to change or what else we need to do to remove this error
    Regards
    Karthik

    Hi Karthik,
the standard setting for web templates is to display a maximum amount of 50.000 cells. The less you restrict your query the more data will be displayed in the report. If you want to display more than 50.000 cells the template will not be executed correctly.
In general it is advisable to restrict the query as much as possible. The more data you display the worse your performance will be. If you have to display more data and you execute the query from query designer or if you use the standard template you can individually set the maximum amount of cells. This is described over  [here|Re: Bex Web 7.0 cells overflow].
However I do not know if (and how) you can set the maximum amount of cells differently as a default setting for your template. This should be possible somehow I think, if you find a solution for this please let us know.

    Marcel

  • SAP Note: 1127156 Result set is too large

    Hi,
The note 1127156 explains how to resolve the issue with removing the message "Result Set is too large." I want to check the settings in the template and it gives the following steps but i cannot find the settings on the Analysis web item of the data provider.
    Can someone pls help.
    Query View
The following steps describe how to change the "safety belt" for Query Views:
    1. Use the context menu Properties / Data Provider in a BEx Web Application to maintain the "safety belt" for a Query View.
    2. Choose the register "Size Restriction for Result Sets".
    3. Choose an entry from the dropdown box to specify the maximum number of cells for the result set.
                   The following values are available:
         Maximum Number
         Default Number
         Custom-Defined Number
Behind "Maximum Number" and "Default Number" you can find the current numbers defined in the customizing table RSADMIN (see below).
    4. Save the Query View and use it in another Web Template.
    Many thanks

    Hi,
I was facing the same issue in BEx analyzer 7.0. The query was working fine in BW 3.5 analyzer but gave error in BEx 7.0.
When executed in web, it gave error result set is too large.
The maximum no of cells that can be displayed is 750000.
Please check the result set returned by the query. Also check note Note 1040454 - Front-end memory requirement of the BEx Analyzer.
Some enhancement are planned to be delivered in enhancement package 1.

  • BUG: Extremely Large files 'hang' saving in CS6

We occassionally work with extremely large .PSB files for billboards and environmental graphics, anywhere from 5-10GBs.  We noticed that the files would 'hang' and not save while we were working on them.  The save percentage indicator would get to 83% and just stall out.  We'd have to completely restart our machines and use CS5 to finish the projects.
    Hope this helps.  Thanks--CP

Read a bit of the article I linked to, especially the part about making a bootable clone of your internal drive. Many users here use that as part of their backup strategy.
I use SuperDuper and a Firewire external to do this. I partitioned my external into two parts using Disk Utility. One partition is about the same size as my internal drive (80 GB) and I use this for the bootable clone. The rest of the external drive I use for bulk storage. Partitioning is simple and nothing to be afraid of.
PPC Macs (like I have) can only be booted via a FW external (not USB). I assume your Mac has an Intel processor. These Macs are supposed to be able to boot from a USB external (USB 2 would be faster than USB) but can also boot from FW (400 or maybe 800). Many users prefer Firewire for bootable externals.
I am not familiar with CMS Bounce Back Express so I cannot advise you on this.

  • Can the interface menus and icons be set a little larger in 64bit Photoshop version CS6 ????

Can the interface menus and icons be set a little larger in 64bit Photoshop version CS6 ????
It would be very helpful if the tools and font size choices were enhanced to Larger, Largest or custom enhance. Anyone know if that is an idea we can send to Adobe?

I wonder about folk who use small screen laptops with a high pixel density. I'd guess that there are 1920x1200 laptops with 17 or possibly even 15 inch screens, and Photoshop is going to be a nightmare to use on them. Heck, the notebook sized iPad 3 has a >2000 pixel screen! That sort of pixel density is going to work its way through to laptops, before too long. I have read about LED televisions with 4K (equivalent of four 1080 panels) and even 8K (equivalent of 8 1080 panels) screens. Is that going to work its way through to computer monitors? To be fair, we are talking about 60inch screens here, but nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to gamers and their hardware!!!
I have all but given up using Photoshop on my 19 inch laptop with a 1920x1200 screen because it is not comfortable compared with the 30 inch monitor I use for my main screen at home (also 1920 x 1200). This is a frequently asked question, and Chris has said it would be a major undertaking to upsize the icons, but it surely has to go on the list for the next upgrade.

  • Set Dynamic Event Scope MANUALLY

What is the solution to enable hide/show after that report is refreshed ?
    Regards,

    Hello,
    Thanks All,
It works but caused another issue.
After the report gets refreshed, if we click on any of the Hide/show regions on the top:
    Newsletters or
    Preferences or
    Expand/Collapse listings
It opens and closes right off the bat ??

Al of a sudden my iPhone 5C has extremely large text size.  It's so large I cannot swipe, pinch or make it respond to any command.  Any suggestions on what happened, how to fix it and how to prevent it from happening again?

    Hi Marylane,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Your description of the text being extremely large makes me think you have activitated the Zoom feature of Accessibility. See the following article and use the same command to disable Zoom as to enable it:
To enable Zoom, use three fingers and double-tap the screen.
To increase the level of Zoom, use three fingers to double-tap and hold, then move your fingers up or down on the screen to increase or decrease magnification.
Use Accessibility features in iOS - Apple Support

  • Using Log Miner to find reason for extremely large archive logs.

    Hello everyone,
I have an Oracle 10g RAC database that sometimes generates extremely large number archive logs. The database is in ARCHIVELOG mode.
The usual volume of archive logs per day after compression is about 5GB, sometimes that spikes to 15GB and I cannot understand why.
I am looking at gathering statistics based on the inflated redo logs via LogMiner.
Looking at the structure of V$LOGMNR_CONTENTS - there are columns with promising names such as REDO_LENGTH, REDO_OFFSET, UNDO_LENGTH, UNDO_OFFSET.
However all these columns are deprecated. http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/dynviews_1154.htm
Is there a way of identifying operations that generate large redo logs?
The documentation for LogMiner has some example user sessions but none show how to generate statistics on the connection between redo logs and sql statements.
I see nothing that can help me in the following views:
    V$LOGMNR_DICTIONARY, V$LOGMNR_DICTIONARY_LOAD, V$LOGMNR_LATCH,V$LOGMNR_LOGS, V$LOGMNR_PARAMETERS, V$LOGMNR_PROCESS, V$LOGMNR_SESSION
These views plus the following columns sound somewhat promising:
    V$LOGMNR_CONTENTS -> RBABLK, RBABYTE, UBAFIL, UBABLK, UBAREC, UBASQN, ABS_FILE#, REL_FILE#, DATA_BLK#, DATA_OBJ#, DATA_OBJD#
    V$LOGMNR_STATS -> NAME , VALUE
However I found nothing in the documentation on how to use them. (esp. not in Database reference, Database Utilities - the main documents I looked into). What should I read? Any strategies or ideas?
    Kind regards:
    al_shopov

To find sessions generating lots of redo, you can use either of the following
methods. Both methods examine the amount of undo generated. When a transaction
generates undo, it will automatically generate redo as well.
    The methods are:
    1) Query V$SESS_IO. This view contains the column BLOCK_CHANGES which indicates
how much blocks have been changed by the session. High values indicate a
    session generating lots of redo.
The query you can use is:
    SELECT s.sid, s.serial#, s.username, s.program,
    i.block_changes
    FROM v$session s, v$sess_io i
    WHERE s.sid = i.sid
    ORDER BY 5 desc, 1, 2, 3, 4;
Run the query multiple times and examine the delta between each occurrence
of BLOCK_CHANGES. Large deltas indicate high redo generation by the session.
    2) Query V$TRANSACTION. This view contains information about the amount of
undo blocks and undo records accessed by the transaction (as found in the
    USED_UBLK and USED_UREC columns).
The query you can use is:
    SELECT s.sid, s.serial#, s.username, s.program,
    t.used_ublk, t.used_urec
    FROM v$session s, v$transaction t
    WHERE s.taddr = t.addr
    ORDER BY 5 desc, 6 desc, 1, 2, 3, 4;
Run the query multiple times and examine the delta between each occurrence
of USED_UBLK and USED_UREC. Large deltas indicate high redo generation by
    the session.
