Setting up groupware connector plug in

Hi.
I would like to set up groupware connector on our CRM( CRM 5.0 ),
and we use Exchange server 7.0 as a groupware.
I found installation guide and configuration guide, but I can't find connector application.
where can I download this connector plug in, and which version should I install?

Hi Won Bum Lee,
You need to go to Service market place and go to Downloads and then select SAP software distribution centre  and then click on search for software and then type in Groupware connector and it will take you to search results and then select groupware connector 4.0 and then you need to take help from your basis consultant to identify which OS is being used and also the pacth level and other details.
Few things
1. you need to have valid Service market place ID
2. to download this application, you need to have Solution manager installed and it is only possible through these.
Hope this helps and reward points if useful
Thanks
Srini

    Hello Gregor,
We find that this rfc service (client 200) was inactivated/overwritten. Seems like it
become like that after we did configure it in client 100 and transported it to 200.
After manually setting correct logon values for rfc service in 200 we got the activities created in CRM reaching Exchange.   So we are all happy now.
    But....refering

  • How to set up a Java Plug-in Download page in case of netscape?

    hai all of you,
i have a problem regarding downloading plugin.
i am using <object > and <embed> tags to download the plugins inorder to run the applets. but it is taking long time to download the plugin form sun.com.
so what i have done is, i downloaded the plugin.exe file and .cab file and put it in my tomcat server mainted by other party.(y application if for internet purpose only.)
i refered to http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.2/docs/intranet.html. there it is mentioned that, to download the plugin.
for I.E i can able to change the code.
but for NetScape it's a little bit confusing.
i have downloaded the binary file in my own directory.
here he is asking to set up a java plugin-in download page.
instead of this "plugin-install.html" page what page i should create and what should be the code in this page if i have to write on my own. please let me know if anybody know about it.
    following para is from sun.com
"To deploy Java Plug-in in intranet environments with Navigator, you need to download and store the Java Plug-in binary file on one of your web servers. Then you need to set up a Java Plug-in Download page and modify the pluginspage attribute in the EMBED tag to refer to this page. The Download page should have options to download different versions of Java Plug-in, such as for Windows and Solaris. For example, if you have set up the Java Plug-in Download page at "http://javaweb.eng/plugin/" and the page is called plugin-install.html, you can specify the pluginspage as "http://javaweb.eng/plugin/plugin-install.html". "

    I have successfuly done this.
Change the converted html as per the instructions to point to another page.
Here is an example of the new html page you need to create:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Java Plugin Install Page</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <h2><center>Java Plugin Install Page</center></h2>
    <p></p>
    <h3>Windows Version Only!!!</h3>
    <p></p>
<p>You may or may not be asked to either save or run from current location</p>
<p>If the run from current location is available, use that option</p>
<p>If you can only save the file, then save it to your workstation and exit the download page and exit Netscape. Then using Windows Explorer, go to where you downloaded the file and double click on the file to run it. Accept all options during the install process and once it has finished try accessing your web page again using Netscape. You should then get to the web page or application and this page will not apppear again.
    </body>
    </html>
If you put the file j2re-1_3_1-win.exe on a web server somewhere then you will have to prefix the file with
    http://yourwebserverdirectory/
    Hope this helps.

  • E-mail destributor and CRM Groupware Connector

    Hello,
we synchronize our activities and private Contacts with the Groupware Connector. My question is, how is the behavior of the Groupware Connector if an employee changes his email-address in CRM with a e-mail distributor?
    Has this anyone tested?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Albert,
Current version of  Groupware Connector does not supported Distributed lists and we don't have any development plans to support it as of now.

  • Exchange groupware connector cannot read public folder

    Hi,
we're installing the Groupware Connector for Exchange (2003) on a Win2003 SP1 server. The installation is simple, but when starting the service, the following error occurs:
[26/Apr/2006:11:33:52 +0200] WARNING - - - - - "[WRN:1010] Invalid default target folder for contacts: [email protected] does not specify public folder
    . Please verify 'replica.contacts.default-target' option in config.xml." Source: Common\GroupWare.cpp:199
I tried installing and starting the connector on both the exchange server and a seperate server, but in both a cases the message appears.
The public folder exists (called "contacts"), has an email address: [email protected] and we can sent emails to it and they arrive in the contacts folder. As far as I know we executed all the steps in the installation guide (permissions etc) but for some reason the connector cannot see the public folder.
    Any ideas?
I've read the two notes: 908577 and 908571
    Much obliged

    Hi,
Once again very sorry for such a delayed reponse ... i don't know how did i missed your response ... anyway
You can find version of Connector 2.1.053 after you install it on a system and right click on the connectorsvc.exe and go to the version tab, find the version of the GWC.
What ever versions you have mentioned i.e., 2.1.036 and 2.1.037 are versions of Install package of GWC (which is a common for both exchange gwc and lotus gwc ).
If you still have some problems with it then revert back to me via e-mail so that i won't miss your response.

  • SAP Groupware Connector 5.0 Installation - Connect MS Exchange 2010

I try to install the SAP Groupware Connector 5.0 to connect a MS Exchange 2010 Server.
My host computer has an MS Windows Server 2008 operation system.
After starting the setup.exe and fill in the entries Exchange Server, Mailbox, User, Domain, Password I Get an error message:
"Validation of connection to Exchange Server failed"
    "CDO library is not available."
    "[0x80040154] Class not registered"
I am the opinion that I don't need a CDO, because I am useing a MS Exchange 2010 Server ....
    Can somebody help me?!
    Thanks

    Hi Chrisitan,
Perhpas I wan'st clear in my previous reply. You cannot connect Groupware connector 5.0 to MS Exchange 2010 Server.
I've just checked, and found that exchange 2007 is now supported, but not 2010.Further information is available from the following link:

  • SAP CRM Groupware Connector for Exchange on 64 Bit platform

    Hi All,
We have successfully installed SAP CRM 5.0 on Windows 2003 x64 Server R2 SP2.
OS, Database and SAP Kernel are all 64 Bit enabled.
Now we are trying to install SAP CRM Groupware Connector on the same server.
But we encounter problems with SAP Groupware Connector 2.1 for MS Exchange installer (setup.exe), which stops with the following error:
    Required Software missing:
    - MS SOAP Toolkit
    Installation cannot be continued !
But SOAP Toolkit 3.0 definitely is installed.
Obviously the Groupware Connector is still 32 Bit.
It is the only available download in SAP Marketplace i could find.
The CD is located in the same area where the CRM installation CDs can be downloaded.
SAP does not differ between 32 Bit and 64 Bit versions.
I'm wondering if it is possible, to run a 32 Bit Groupware Connector in a 64 Bit environment.
Does anybody have experience with such a configuration ?
Or is there a 64 Bit enabled version available for download ? Where can i find this version ?
    Thank you in advance.

I got an answer from SAP Support:
SAP still recommends to use 32-bit system OS in order to avoid any future confusions.
So we have to install another 32 Bit Server only for the Groupware Connector.
    Thx for your interest.

  • Possible to install two groupware connectors on one machine/system?

    Hi gurus,
we want to save the money for a new machine, so I'm currently looking to get a second groupware connector installation done on the same machine. Anyone having experience with that? Is it even possible?
The setup.exe does not really offer to do a second groupware connector installation for exchange. Even if that would be possible I fear the created services for our machine (SAP MS Exchange Groupware Connector 2.1) will be overwritten by the second installation?
    Torsten

    Torsten,
I know from how the Lotus Notes version of the connector works, it just wouldn't work because of how it uses the Lotus Notes libraries.  For exchange I'm not sure if there is as tight of integration.  The connector is relatively light weight, so have you considered piggy backing it on another box such as a SAP webdispatcher or something else.  You could also look at using a VM as the requirements for the connector aren't that much for a test system.
    Take care,
    Stephen

Can SAP CRM synchronizes with groupwise?

    Hi,
    sorry for my slowly respond.
according to information shared from help.sap.com. I know that:
"SAP provides two SAP Groupware Connectors, one for MS Exchange Server and the other for Lotus Domino Server."
"The SAP Groupware connector consists of:
          _ SAP Groupware connector.
          _ SAP Groupware connector proxy."
in case that I need a connection between SAP CRM and Novell GroupWise, what will I can do???
         1. Do I need to develop my own SAP Groupware connector, which consists of 2 listed things above?

  • Set up Business Connector within SAP ERP 2005

    Hello!
Which SPRO-Activity is responsible for setting up Business Connector within SAP ERP 2005 (only ABAP-Stack)?
What is the effort should be regarded for this issue?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hi Tony,
are you using gcj from Red Hat as Java? You can check this by
    rpm -qf `which java`
This should point to either Sun JDK 1.4.2 for i386 and IA64 or IBM JDK 1.4.2 for x86_64

  • Can the Groupware connector use XI to communicate with CRM2007 ?

    Hi,
Can the latest CRM groupware connector be used to connect to SAP CRM2007 using XI
instead of communicating directly with SAP CRM2007?
The current system landscape regarding the exchange server and CRM systems is such that
it would not be feasible to connect the connector directly to the CRM server.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Sunil

    Sunil,
Well technically if you make XI talk the same language that CRM talks to the groupware connector then your scenario is possible.  Now the problem would be knowing the "format" of the communication that comes out of CRM to the groupware connector.  If you can figure that out, then you could probably custom build the scenario you are talking about.
I'm just not sure if you will get any type of positive ROI by doing this method.  Personally it just looks like something that would be costly and probably something that you will not get a lot of support.  It might be easier to keep "one" CRM system that talks to groupware.  Then that CRM distributes the data back from the groupware outbound to XI and then in XI you can send back to CRM.  You could do the reverse where your CRM system feeds it to XI and it sends it to the CRM groupware connector system, which then feeds the groupware.
It involves a few more hops, but elminates the needs to figure out the SOAP protocol building between XI and the connector.  You can then "hop" on the standard middleware adapter to distribute changes outbound using XIF plus XI and evenutally wind up in the groupware.
The drawback is one of your CRM systems, needs to have at least a global view of all business partners and activities.  Which might not be desired by your business.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Why the groupware connector need Read/Write access for all mailboxes?

    Hi,
Does anybody know the technical side of how the  Groupware connector creates activities, tasks and contacts?
I know it's not sending them with SMTP, it's work with DCOM,
is it creates it directly in the recipient mailbox!?, and thats why it needs write access?
    kind regards,
    Pavel, sheynkman.

    Hi,
Thanks for the information but i already red this note and the .doc files,
it still not answering WHY you need this permission? to answer this question you need to know the technical side,an answers to question like how the GW put the contacts or the activities in the user's inbox(using DCOM)?
    Think about that:
If i have BP's that is not part of my organization, no way somebody will give me administrate permissions on his mailbox.
So if this is really true SAP Didn't think that through.
