Setting up Hunt Group using an extension number instead of a pilot number

Hi Guys,
I would like to set up a hunt group. My question is can I use a real extension number assigned to a phone to be a pilot number instead of creating a new pilot number.
The requirements  are if no one is answering a call to an extension 1000 (extension 1000 is assigned to a user) it should be forwarded to 1001, 1002, 1003 and back to 1000. I was thinking of using 1000 as pilot number. Is that possible ?
Thanks Guys

Hi Guys,
Thank you very much for your suggestions. Here is what I have done:
With Manish's solution the call forwarding works upto the third phone then it got disengaged. Looks like there is a timer I need to increase so that the call will not time out. Could you please let me know which timer I have to adjust. I have checked the max forwards hops and they are set to 15-20 so don't think this is an issue.
With regard to Jamie's solution, I have created a separate partition and assigned same DN 1000 to it. It works great when I call from inside. However when I call it from outside using the full E164 number the call goes to 1000 then it just go to the voicemail of 1000 if not answered. I have removed the settings under DN page so that it will not go to voicemail. After doing this the phone with extension 1000 keeps ringing until it times out. Not sure where the issue is here.
I have given a suggestion to my customer to use a new pilot number with hunt groups. I have tested this as well. When I call it from outside the call goes to all the five phones and it just keep going into circle until someone answered and that's what I want. But when I call DN 1000 from inside it goes to all the five phones and when I reaches to the last phone configured under the line group member the call then just dropped out. Is there a way to fix this so that when someone just dial the extension number from inside all the phones keep ringing in circle manner and did not drop until someone has answered it.
Thanks a lot guys.

    Hi ravi
After creating Sales order immediately come to Md04 and see before running the MRP. All the sales order will be display irrespective of your planning strategy.
    Check it
In material master MRP 3 view Availability checking group should be 02 individual. Then all the sales order will be displyed in MD 04

  • Hunt Group Queues

We are evaluating moving from an Avaya 8710 based enterprise PBX to a Cisco PBX. A sticking point we have come accross is how to do basic phone features supported by the Avaya system. A major one is the ability to queue calls in a hunt group. We have sites that have up to 3 or 4 hunt groups and if a call comes in and all members in the hunt group are not available then the call goes to Music on hold until the call can be picked up by the next available in the hunt group.
Is this really a limitation in Call Manager 5.x, 6.x or CME 4.3?

To answer your question about IPCC express, I know it used to be free with CallManager 4.x, not sure with 5.x and came with 5 licenses. But with IPCCx, you can do just about anything you want when it comes to queing, onhold, music, transfers, etc.
But from looking at the doc I sent you:
    Understanding Call Queuing
You can configure a pilot point to support call queuing, so when a call comes to pilot point and all hunt groups members are busy, Cisco CallManager Attendant Console sends calls to a queue. While in the queue, the callers receive music on hold if you have chosen an audio source from the Network Hold Audio Source and the User Hold MOH Audio Source drop-down list boxes in the Device Pool window or the Pilot Point Configuration window. The attendants cannot view the queued calls. When a hunt group member becomes available, Cisco CallManager Attendant Console redirects the call to that hunt group member.
You enable queuing for a pilot point by checking the Queuing Enabled check box on the Pilot Point Configuration window. You must also enter a value in the Queue Size field and the Hold Time (in Seconds) field. The queue size specifies the number of calls that are allowed in the queue. If the queue is full, Cisco CallManager Attendant Console routes calls to the "always route" hunt group member that is specified on the Hunt Group Configuration window. If you do not specify an always route member, Cisco CallManager Attendant Console drops the call when the queue size limit is reached. The hold time specifies the maximum time (in seconds) that Cisco CallManager Attendant Console keeps a call in the queue. If the call is in the queue for longer than the "HoldTime," the call gets redirected to "AlwaysRoute" member. If the "AlwaysRoute" member is not configured, no action occurs.
This is saying that the CCM Attendant Console will take care of what you need. It's basically a big queing machine. You dont have to have a live person answer to start the que from what it looks like, just point the calls to the pilot number and let the server take control of the ques.
You can do this one ccm cluster, or hub and spoke in your case. Just remember, that if you are queing calls, you are tying up WAN bandwidth the more you que. But it may work out ok, depending on how much bandwidth you have.
You can get MOH streams off your local router at the remote site, so you are not streaming MOH over the WAN, so that should take care of itself.
Unity can act as a poor man's que. Basically you can have ccm hunt the groups, no one answer, go to Unity voicemail, play a message, transfer back to the hunt group, hunt the group, then possibly back to Unity to play a message, then take a message. (just using a different mailbox and a different pilot number)
Sometimes you have to get creative with these products to make them do what you want them to do. Out of the box, it's not always the exact feature you need, but you have to tweak it.
Most companies that use hunt groups, understand that they are basica in CCM until you port it to IPCC Express. Unity does do menu trees very well, multilevel voicemail, multiply extesnsions to one account, etc.
My best advice for you, get together with your local Cisco SE to go over the features you require and see how it can be done.
    cheers!

  • Hunt group and 2911-CME SRST

Imagine this is (1) main hub with a Cisco CUBE 2900, 2 remote sites with Cisco 2911 CME-SRST. All connected via MPLS.
    Goal:
If MPLS link or MPLS CE in remote site1 fails, I want to have *inbound* calls forwarded to the POTS line in the branch1.
VoIP Service provider does offer a feature which allow me to select target DIDs and have inbound calls forwarded to whichever number I specify.
    Question:
Let's say there 20 people in the branch office1.
Can I setup a hunt group using Cisco 2911 CME and that single number which received the call start ringing the phone of all staff until we find someone to take call? Does CME and support hunt groups and this scenario?

Yes, CME supports various types of hunt groups.
However to have more than one phone ring at once, the best is to use a shared DN.

  • Can't configure hunt group voicemail unavailable or busy msg

I have set up hunt group voicemail button on one of the phones. I can login and set up the new password, but when I get to the stage of recording the unavailable voicemail. It hangs up straight away with call end on display with out giving time for the recording.
I have tried to dial the voicemail hunt extension it does the same thing.

    Hi Lap,
Is it the first time to record unavailable greeting  for this huntgroup voice mail box? If not, can you hear the old  unavailable greeting? Did you try with a different hunt group? You got  the same issue? Do you have such issue with the individual voice mail  box? Were you able to record the voice mail box name before unavailable  greeting for this hunt group?

Unfortunately it would not be possible to change the extesion of the pages from .html to .htm.
We do not have that option available in Muse. Muse only generates .html extension.

  • Mobile number instead of VoIP service? (Korea)

    Hello,
Would it be possible for me to gain access to a Korean mobile Skype Number instead of a VoIP number?
For example, the number you get with a Skype Number has a mobile code "(70)," Which stands for a VoIP Service. However, a regular number consists of the code "(10)," which is what I would like, if at all possible.

  • Hunt group in CUCDM is ringing first extension in list when set to broadcast?

    I'm working with CUCDM 8.1.3+er1.
We have a Hunt Group setup that rings 4 extensions through broadcast. Each of these 4 users have each others line appearances on their phones too.
    Hunt Group example:
    0 - User1
    1 - User2
    2 - User3
    3 - User4
Problem is, when the hunt group is called the call will show up under User1 (or whoever is first on the list) and not actually everyone's line. I can change the order and the hunt group call will then ring only their line instead of broadcasting it out to the 4 users at the same time.
Is this a bug or a limitation on the platform? Where we cannot have users with line appearances of other users in the same hunt group...

    Hi
This configuration sounds odd - why do you need a broadcast hunt group when a call to any extension will ring all the phones anyway due to the shared lines?

  • CCX using Place Call to hunt group. Unable to determine who answered

I'm trying to use the CCX to place a call to a CUCM hunt group and then once the answered, determine which member of the hunt group answered the call.
I have used several of the Get Info steps, including:
    Get Call Contact Info
    Get Enterprise Call Info
    Get Contact Info
However, all of those steps always just report back the CUCM hunt pilot number, instead of the actual line group member who answered the call.  Can anyone think of a way to determine the extension of the line group member that answered the call ?
If it matters, I am using CCX 9.0.2su1

I lack a system to test this on at the moment but perhaps try this CUCM Service Parameter. The question is whether CTI Manager will follow this logic or if this is only respected by the CDR flat file export.
Show Line Group Member DN in finalCalledPartyNumber CDR Field
This parameter determines whether the the finalCalledPartyNumber field in call detail records (CDR) shows the directory number (DN) of the line group member who answered the call or the hunt pilot DN. Valid values specify True (the finalCalledPartyNumber in CDRs will show the DN of the phone that answered the call) or False (the finalCalledPartyNumber in CDRs will show the hunt pilot DN). This parameter applies only to basic calls routed through a hunt list without feature interaction such as transfer, conference, call park, and so on. If a feature is involved in the call, then the hunt pilot DN will show in the finalCalledPartyNumber field regardless of the setting in this parameter. This parameter does not apply to Cisco CallManager Attendant Console.
       This is a required field.
       Default:  False

  • Hunt group type Set up with outside ext numbers ie Cell phones

    Using CUCM 9.1
Is there a quick and easy way to create a hunt group type set up using outside (cell phone numbers)?
The scenario will be one (person who will be ON Call) using an internal DID that is forwarded to to a cell phone of the oncall person that particular week.  If no answer it would forward to the next line group of 4 members and also try their cell phones.  After this it would simply repeat the entire process.  So far it looks like a solution may be possible with single line reach perhaps?
Any insight would be grealy appreciated.
    Dave

    Hello,
I set up something like this on CUCM 8.0 a couple of years ago.
I used the Mobile Connect feature as you suggest and it worked ok after some playing about with the timers.
The main problem was that there was no way for the remote users to log out of the hunt group. They could disable Mobile Connect using the IVR but the calls would still ring on their deskphones - if you log out of the phones (i.e. Extension Mobility) before leaving the office this problem should not occur.
The other issue was how long calls took to connect especially if a couple of people in the group did not answer. We actually recorded a message asking callers to be patient that was played when the call was first received (we were using UCCX to do the IVR and call transfer).
    Hope this is of use.

  • AXL SQL Query user-extension- line group-hunt group mapping

    Hi all
I want to take an export  about user-extension- line group-hunt group mapping
Can somebody help me about it   I have CUCM 9.1

There's a lot of table joins in that full mapping! I'll break it down into steps. When you say extension you need to bear in mind that a number and a device are two different things, and a user is associated to these things separately. I'll break it down into chunks.
    User to Device:
    SELECT enduser.userid, device.description FROM enduser, device, enduserdevicemap WHERE enduser.pkid = enduserdevicemap.fkenduser AND enduserdevicemap.fkdevice = device.pkid AND enduser.userid='FOO'
    User to Directory Number:
    SELECT enduser.userid, numplan.dnorpattern FROM enduser, numplan, endusernumplanmap WHERE enduser.pkid = endusernumplanmap.fkenduser AND endusernumplanmap.fknumplan = numplan.pkid AND enduser.userid='FOO'
    Number to Hunt List:
    SELECT numplan.dnorpattern, device.name FROM numplan, device, devicenumplanmap, typeproduct WHERE numplan.pkid = devicenumplanmap.fknumplan AND devicenumplanmap.fkdevice = device.pkid AND device.tkproduct = typeproduct.enum AND typeproduct.name = "Hunt List" AND numplan.dnorpattern='FOO'
    Hunt List to Line Group
    SELECT device.name, linegroup.name FROM device, routelist, linegroup WHERE device.pkid = routelist.fkdevice AND routelist.fklinegroup = linegroup.pkid AND device.name="FOO"
    Line Group to Directory Number
    SELECT linegroup.name, numplan.dnorpattern FROM linegroup, linegroupnumplanmap, numplan WHERE linegroup.pkid = linegroupnumplanmap.fklinegroup AND linegroupnumplanmap.fknumplan = numplan.pkid AND linegroup.name="FOO"
All of this (and more!) is fully documented in the CUCM Database Data Dictionary.

  • Hunt Group stops forwarding after setting up forwarding.

    Hi!
I am having a problem with a hunt pilot after setting up forwarding.
    The original setup is this:
Hunt pilot pointing to a Hunt list with two line groups. The first Line Group
are the Operator lines, that are set up in a Device Profile with extension
mobility, to allow log on/log off fo the user. The second Line group are the
guard lines in normal phones, which take calls after operators log off.
So, the setup is like this:
    HUNT PILOT
    HUNT GROUP
    LINE GROUP 1
    Operator Line 1
    Operator Line 2
    Operator Line n
    LINE GROUP 2
    Guard Line 1
    Guard Line 2
    Guard Line n
I was asked to make the calls that reach the Guard lines able to be picked up
from any phone. Broadcast as hunt algorithm is not an option.
So, I removed the Line Group 2 from the Hunt Group, set up the Hunt FNA and FB
to the first Guard Line, and the Max Hunt timer to 240 secs.
The, I set the CFNA/FB for each guard line to the next line, and put all the
Guard Lines in the same call pickp group.
After I did that, all calls are forwarded directly to the guard lines, skipping
the hunt group entirely! So I had to do a rollback.
Is this expected behaviour? What should I do different?
    Regards,
    Ariel

I forgot to add that this is in a CCM4.1(3)
