Setting up IC Web Client in CRM 5.0 SP06

Hi Experts:
I am trying to set up IC Web Client on our CRM server. The CRM consultants have already set this up in SE80. However, after calling the transaction CRM_IC, i enter the user name and password, but 60 seconds after that I get the time out error with the following message:
Detail: Connection to partner timed out after 60s
I beleive that this is happening because the following parameter hasn't been set up in the instance profile:
icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP, PORT 1080, TIMEOUT=30, PROCTIMEOUT=600
However, I am not sure on the Port number, should it be 1080 or 80<Sys No.>
Please let me know what I should do here

Arright:
I had to add one parameter for the instance profile and modify another in the instance profile. Please see OSS note 824554
ADDED: Parameter Name: icm/host_name_full
MODIFIED: icm/server_port_0 (SEE OSS Note for details)
icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP, PORT 1080, TIMEOUT=30, PROCTIMEOUT=600
WE also noticed that the initial load of each item took a lot of time. ~20 minutes.
Please be advised that this is development environment.
Once the initial objects were loaded..it works good.

Hello,
You can find detailed presentations in the learning maps available on the SAP Service Marketplace http://service.sap.com/rkt-crm for release CRM 2006s, CRM 2007, or CRM 7.0. In case I didn't mention it before, Intent-Driven Interaction (IDI) was first introduced and is only available starting with CRM 2006s and above. In the Interaction Center area, there is a presentation called "Rule Based Automation and Guidance" which covers IDI. Authorization to access Web Client UI - CRM 2007 (v6)

When I create a user in the system, I have to assign it a business role.
Apart from assigning it work centers etc., I also need to assign a PFCG role.
What authorization objects should I include in that PFCG role that will allow the user to access (login and view the homepage) of the Web Client UI?
I assigned the user to a position in the Organization model, to the position I have assigned a business role.
I have tried giving it the authorization object for BSP, but it doesn't help.
After the login screen, I get the message saying "Sorry, Logon is not possible because you have not been assigned to a business role. Contact your system administrator. "
Anybody facing the same problem? Is there any standard Role that I can assign to the user which will give it access to the Web UI?

HR authorization objects (starting with P_). However, these
authorization objects must always remain switched on.
The system ignores the fact you switched off these authorization objects
when saving. All other data is saved when you continue.
I always get an error in our system which says:
"XX field value(s) for object S_SERVICE were not entered in the profile"
what can I do with this?

Upgrade IC Web Client from CRM 4.0 to CRM 5.0

Hello All Gurus,
We are planning to upgrade from CRM 4.0 SP9 to CRM 5.0.
Where can I get what are the modifications and what are the things to keep in mind.
We did a lot of custom developments which are now part of standard. In such a case what is the best option do we go on with the custom developments or do we move more to the standard.

steps would be
1. go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
2. open the 'hosts' file in notepad and type in ur IP address and the URL. There will be other entries also in this file, and u can refer to that for format.....
eg:
10.121.986.87 xxxxxxx.yyyy.com

Unable to login to IC Web Client

Hi All,
I am unable to log in to the IC Web client in CRM 2007. I get the logon screen when I go to
http://<host>.<domain>.<port#>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/crm_ui_frame/default.htm?
but when I enter my CRM user id and password it does not log me in. I can log in to CRM SAP Gui without any issue.
I have activated all the necessary services in SICF.
is there anything i'm missing out please advice?

Hello Mike,
You mention that after you enter your CRM user id and password the system does not log you in. Do you encounter some kind of error message? Do you just see a blank screen? Perhaps you can describe in more detail what exactly happens.
If you are experiencing a blank screen, there are quite a few SAP notes (and quite a few other threads -- in both this IC forum and the new CRM 2007 forum which address this topic). For example, please check:

S_DEVELOP authorization needed for CRM Web Client in SAP CRM 7.0?

We implemented an own WebUI component in SAP CRM 2007 and use it in others components (with USAGE).
After we transport the component in SAP CRM 7.0 we always got an error CX_BSP_DLC_CONFIG_GENERAL_ERR at loading the component. But if we set the permission to SAP_ALL all thing work fine.
In SAP Note Nr. 1367944 we read:
"It is not possible to run the CRM Web Client without the S_DEVELOP, activity=03
authorization because it is needed by the Web Client Framework.
The S_DEVELOP authorizatin is part of the SAP_CRM_UIU_FRAMEWORK PFCG role, which must
be assigned to every user."
"This dependency has been removed in CRM 7.0."
Do we need to install some other SAP Notes at SAP CRM 7.0?

I asked my collegue here, who created the note.
The note is correct, in CRM 7.0 you do not need S_DEVELOP anymomre.
The error that you have might occur because of another reason.
Could you track the call stack of this exception?
And send me back the call stack?

Limiting the Text Size in CRM 5.0 IC Web Client

Hello Experts,
We have a scenario where in we can enter the text for a CRM Document (say Service document) in the text field of IC Web Client. We have noticed that we are even allowed to enter the text of size around 73 MB also (which comes into 1000s of Word Documents).
We have now have a requirement for limiting this text as it is causing some problems and somehow affecting system performance.
Could anyone help me in limitating the text size in CRM 5.0 IC Web Client. I mean whether there is any configuration setting for doing the same or we need to do it in any text determination Procedure. Thanks in anticipation for your response.

Business role customizing not working in crm 2007 web client

Can someone tell me what services need to be activated via sicf for business role customizing to work in the Web Client under the Administration component in CRM 2007. I have everything else working in this are eg surveys, document template, fact sheet configuration, view configuration but the business role customizing when selected just opens a blank screen

Hi Eddie,
The SAP CRM 2007 Master guide suggests enabling all the SICF services in the SAP namespace.
We had some script errors in CRM UI, but once all the SICF services were activated, they simply disappeared.
The IDES demo systems are also set up this way, so you can try doing it.

Launch CRM transaction through SAP Web Client UI

We would like to incude transaction "S_AE2_89000019" from CRM to SAP CRM WEB Client UI.
We have done the following steps using the SAP best practices (C04-Configuration guide):
1. in transaction CRMS_IC_CROSS_SYS we have configured the CRM system with url: http://CRMnameServer:httpport/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/!?transaction=IC_LTX&okcode=ICEXECUTE
and ERP system with url
http://ERPnameServer:httpport/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/!?transaction=IC_LTX&okcode=ICEXECUTE
2. we have set TSTC to synchronous (CRM and ERP)
3. we have configured transaction launcher through wizard (tx CRMC_UI_ACTIONWZ)
4. we have created logical link for transaction and we assigned the link to work center and business role.
The problem is that when we are opening the SAP CRM web gui and click on the link that we have created, we take a blank picture with a red x "PLease wait..." and nothing else opens.
Can anyone help?

Creation of Tech Master data with CRM IC Web Client

I have a query regarding creation of Technical master data via CRM IC Web client ( CRM7.0 & ECC6 for ISU)
1) If we are using CRM IC web Client then , how the creation of Technical Master Data is triggered from web client ?
2) Where the technical master data created first ISU or CRM ?

1) You need to configure CRM Middleware to exchange data between CRM and IS-U;
2) Data is created first in CRM, then it's replicated to IS-U.

Add extra Business Objects to model CRM 2007: Web Client Records

Hello,
Could anyone tell me how I can add more Reference Objects in Case Management?
I copied the model CRM 2007: Web Client Records and added a new node (with for example Business Object Service Order) just like product and installations (which are visible under the reference objects)
I created a new element type under SCMG_SP_CASE_RECORD --> Z_CRM_SPS_CASE_RECORD and in the customizing we attached the model to the case type under Case Management --> Extended Customizing --> Process Actions --> Assign Action Profile to Case Type.
Still the new Business Object in the model isn't visible under Case Management in de WebUI.
Could anyone tell me if I'm missing something or is there a config guide available how to add more business objects?

Are you familiar with Access Control Engine (ACE)?

Authorizations in CRM are controlled through ACE.

ChaRM - Message not appearing in CRM Web Client

Hi
My company is using ChaRM and have ZMCR setup for Change Requests. Due to audit reasons, the requester and approver in ZMCR cannot be the same person.
I have gone into SE91 and access message class SOCM_ACTION_LOG. Here, I have created my new message.
I have then gone into SPRO and setup all the necessary configuration.
And it works perfectly!!!! EXCEPT.....the error message doesn't show in CRM Web Client UI. So the functionality is working fine but obviously we need the message to appear so users no why the change request hasn't changed status.
Firstly, here is my config in SPRO:

I have read online that function module CRM_MESSAGE_COLLECT is used to show messages in CRM Web Client. I am not an ABAPer. How does this function module work? What do I do with it? Or is there something else I need to do for this message to show?
Pretty sure my config is spot on so just need some advice on how to get the message to show.

Did you register your custom messages in the SPRO settings? You need to use Appl. Area SOCM_ACTION_LOG and make an entry in the below tanble for Single Messages;

CRM 7.0: Test/simulate telephony integration in IC web client

one of our customers is currently performing CRM release upgrade from CRM 4.0 to CRM 7.0. In CRM 4.0, they used the sapphone server for telephony integration (CTI) into CRM IC win client (SAP GUI).
Now weu2019re currently testing this feature in CRM 7.0, however, the telephony buttons in the IC web client are shown but do not trigger any action.
My question: Is there any kind of test / simulation scenario for testing the telephony integration using sapphone server directly in the SAP system (without the actual sapphone server)? Weu2019d like to make sure that the customizing of the IC profile itself is correct before looking for other technical issues. We're currently testing using business role IC_AGENT.
I searched SAP marketplace and SDN, however, only found transaction code SPHT and guides for ICI.
