Setting up Ipad in Russian language

Hello,
my friend wants to buy an IPad2 in England and take it back to Russia.My question is...is this possible and does he need a Apple expert to show him when he buys it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated..many thanks.

It should be possible - it's a long time since I set mine up, but I seem to remember that you get to chose which language to use on the iPad when you turn it on and set it up for the first time (and it can also be changed after it's set up), and you don't have to set up the iPad whilst in the country in which it is bought. The manual for the iPad can be downloaded from here http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad - depending on when/where it is bought it might come with iOS 5 pre-installed or the older iOS 4.3 might still be on it (iOS 5 can then be downloaded for free and installed on it), so downloading both the 4.3 and 5 versions of the iPad might be useful to start off with (you can tell which version is installed via Settings > General > About > Version on the iPad).

How do i set my ipad for english and enter Netherlands as country of residence?

I live in The Netherlands but want my language set to English.
Also when I ask for an app, my billing address is in the Netherlands, but I want to set country to USA,
otherwise everything turns to Dutch language

The language of your iPad and apps (except the two stores which will be the language of the country where your account is based) should be what you set in Settings > General > International > Language
If you set your account's address to the US then you will need to be in the US in order to buy anything - and if using a credit card then that would also need to be registered in the US

Planning problems with russian language during refresh application

Hello all ))
I have problems with Planning during refresh my Application with Essbase.
I intsalled Essbase on RHEL4 and set ESSLANG=Russian_Russia.ISO-8859-5@Default also I set locale on ru_RU.iso88595
Ater that I installed Planning on Solaris 9 which uses Oracle RDBMS with NLS_CHARACTERSET=AL32UTF8 and set locale on server to ru_RU.iso88595
Now I can create dementions, members on russion language in Essbase without problems also I can create dementions,members,etc on russian language in Planning. But if I create demention or member in Planning on Russian languge and ) try refresh my Application with Essbase I give follow error

Adding russian language support fails:
Run Linguistics Studio v1.23.
Import als-ru.zip from ALS_esp53_Russian_1_1_all with parameters: Lemmatize by document expansion, Noun + Adjective + Verb (checked), Deploy changes to ESP atfer import (checked).
Linguistics Studio message: "The Russian ALS package has been successfully imported into [project name]".
Click "Deploy and Execute Required Operations".
(Very long deploying - day or somethig.)

The cause of this issue is that the Russian lemmatization dictionary is too large for ESP to actually handle and deploy.
In your output below is the following:

We are aware of this issue, and have discussed this with our R&D team. There is a work around for all customers that do not customize tokenization/normalization or the content of the lemmatization dictionary in installing the ESP 5.0 dictionaries
that are shipped as compiled automata files.
To work around this issue, the ALS package, ALS_esp53_Russian_1_1_all, was created and released. However, this workaround will not allow you to edit the contents of the lemmatization dictionary. The workaround steps are as follows:
1. Uncheck all forms of speech for lemmatization.
2. Let Linguistics Studio deploy the dictionaries.
3. Note the error indicating the dictionaries were not properly applied.
4. Clicked the project in Linguistics Studio again and clicked the "deploy to ESP". This will run through the deployment, placed the spellcheck and antiphrase dictionaries on the ESP system.
5. Manually copy the lemmatization .aut files to the %FASTSEARCH$\resources\dictionaries\lemmatization\ directory.
These steps will allow you to edit all of the dictionaries, except for the lemmatization dictionaries.
We realize this is an important issue. Unfortunately, the workaround is the only way to address this issue. When considering the options around fixing the issue, it was found that this would entail a complete re-working the automaton compilation
process, and could introduce a high risk of regressions for all search environments.

Set up iPad- Sits idle when connecting to iTunes - suggestions?

Set up iPad. Have updated my iPad and have backed up all to iTunes. iPad ask to set up iPad, select language, country, choose a wi-fi network, then select "set up as a new iPad", "restore from iCloud backup", "restore from iTunes backup". I selected restore from iTunes backup, next screen states "Connect to iTunes" it sits in that screen idle nothing happens. Have anyone had this same problem, what have you done for it to connect to iTunes?

Printing in Russian Language - after ECC 6.0 unicode upgrade

Hello ,
Earlier users from russia are able to print in SAP 4.6C using SAPWIN Device type in russian language.
but after unicode conversion and ECC 6.0 EHP 4 upgrade, they are not able to print in russian using SAPWIN.
In print preview ,it is showing correclty, but not in output.
any help ?

Hi,
It should not be necessary to change to SAPWIN5. Device type SAPWIN5 only supports cyrillic fonts like COURCYR, HELVCYR or TIMECYR. Therefore, even if the erong font is used in the form, the device type converts it to a Russian font. If yuo use a correct font for Russian characters in the form, then SAPWIN should also work.
SWINCF should also work with the current form setting.

When you say 'console' are you referring to the emulator in which you are testing the MIDlet? If so, you may need a localized version of the emulator that supports Russian.
If your handset language is set to Russian it should work properly in the handset, try this and post the result.

Issues with russian language translation in ADF application

While testing the Russian translations, we are running into an issue . Basically the contents for the Russian translation when accessed from application, look all malformed. Not sure if it is related to character set encoding/decoding issues. We have no issues with German and French language, so the question is, is there anything specific that needs to be taken care for Russian language ?

And,our portal application ends up showing what is merged in(that is malformed text as opposed to properly decoded russian text) . Looks like while creating the ear file jdeveloper just picks up the encoded characters and does not actually convert it into russian text. We have set our environment to UTF8, and the browser encoding includes the Cyrillic (KOI8-R).
Any pointers will greatly help.

It seems the property files are stored somehow with wrong characterset (not UTF-8)
Have you checked for german umlaut (like ä,ü,ö,...) in your german property files too? Are they ok?
We had similar issues with the german language a long time ago and as far I can remember it was the encoding setting in jdev preferences:
Tools --> preferences --> environment --> Encoding should be "UTF-8"
Project properties --> compiler--> Character Encoding should be "UTF-8"
If you have to change this setting then you have to edit and save the russian property file again.
As mentioned in the other post you can use native2ascii (http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/native2ascii.html)
at the command line to verify the encoding faster than deploying and run the application.
native2ascii is used also when you build your project in Jdeveloper to convert all the property files.

Your 4th gen iPad does have the necessary software to connect to the AirPort Express but not to administer it. To do the later, you would need to install the AirPort Utility applet.
You said that your iPad can "see" the AirPort's wireless network, but can't connect. What happens exactly when you attempt to do so? Do any of your other wireless devices have any trouble connecting to the Express? Did you configure the Express for a closed network ... that is, not to broadcast its Network Name?
