A legitimately unlocked iPhone should work with any compatible 3G GSM carrier. The iPhone, however, is considered 'restricted technology, and cannot be legally taken to Iran.

  • In Apple Configurator, can I set up different sets of iPads with different apps loaded? Or will all iPads synced with Configurator be required to have the same build?

    Hi jshira86,
You can definitely have different sets of iPads with different apps loaded. When you "supervise" your iPads, you will see that on the left side of the Configurator window there is a "+" sign in the lower left corner. Click it to create a new device group. With this new device group you can choose what apps and configuration profiles you want to install on that group of iPads. Create as many groups as you want to customize the apps and profiles you want on them.
    Hope this answers your question!

  • Ipad 3 micro sim trouble

I have my Ipad 3 with AT&T, and I moved to Ecuador for vacation. I tried to insert a brand new micro sim from a local cellular provider, on the upper left corner it appears the anthena full connected and the 3G logo, also the brand of the local cellular provider but when I try to navigate on Safari or try to use data package from the sim it won't navigate and it gets still.
Please help me, if there is anyone who have the same trouble please help me.

It only depends on your operator ! For example, with Orange in France it works perfectly !
    So, what does that prove?
It may have escaped your attention, but this is an international forum.
We are therefore looking for solutions that will work anywhere on earth, and not merely for one single carrier in merely one single country like France!
    Cédric Eyraud wrote:
And no an iPad is not an cellular phone but it accepts an iPhone4 micro Sim for data connexion.
Yes, because both devices happen to use a micro-SIM card, but this certainly does not mean that a particular carrier will allow a data device like an iPad to access their data network with an iPhone 4 micro-SIM card.
Many European carriers (also world-wide) very clearly make a distinction between a micro-SIM card for an iPhone 4 and a micro-SIM card for an iPad. For those particular carriers, the micro-SIM cards are therefore NOT interchangeable for the two devices!

  • Problem with Micro Sim release Mechanism. Please help?

I am using Ipad2 and tried to change the Micro SIM using the Pins to release it. The Micro Sim holder is not coming out as usual and there seems to be an internal problem with the release mechanism. For now, I can't access my Micro Sim. Please help?

Tried as suggested but it does not work. Something seems wrong in the release mechanism. Thanks anyway. Is there any other option? If I bring it the Apple Service Center, will they be able to work it out?

  • Is it possible to use Apple Configurator to pre-load a class set of iPads with books?

I have class set of iPads that I want to pre-load with books from the iBooks Store (all public domain/Project Gutenberg, so they're free). I've managed to get them on one device, but it was 60+ and I had to download each indiviually. In Apple Configurator, when I backed-up that iPad and tried to load it on the others, the books did not show up on the other devices.
Short of downloading all the books on each iPad, is there an easier way to do this?

unfortunately I don't see a way to do it with configurator. You may be able to use iTunes in the cloud for it though. On each iPad, make sure they are connected to the network, then go to Settings.app -> Store. Make sure the Apple ID associated with the books is logged in, and then turn the automatic downloads for books on. You may then have to download the books on again on one of the devices, but they should appear on all the devices.

  • IPhone Reception with Micro SIM?

    Hey Apple Discussions,
I have just received an iPhone 4 for Christmas today and I instantly stuck my Three UK Micro SIM card in there.
I've noticed that I'm only pulling in two-three bars of service when with my 3GS and the standard SIM, it was a four-five bars of service.
I'm wondering if the Micro SIM has any affect on it and if the iPhone 4 also has any affect on it?
I am using the bumper case too so the "death grip" is a non-issue.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the response.
And yes, I do understand that phones use formulas to calculate the signal strength. Saying this, as far as I'm aware the formula it uses is OS specific rather than to the phone.
I have had an iPhone 3GS running on iOS 4, same network and it always had shown four-five bars?

  • How do I set up iPad with airport express to stream music to stereo without internet connection?

how do i set up iPad and airport express to stream music to stereo without using internet connection.

Your 4th gen iPad does have the necessary software to connect to the AirPort Express but not to administer it. To do the later, you would need to install the AirPort Utility applet.
You said that your iPad can "see" the AirPort's wireless network, but can't connect. What happens exactly when you attempt to do so? Do any of your other wireless devices have any trouble connecting to the Express? Did you configure the Express for a closed network ... that is, not to broadcast its Network Name?

  • Setting up iPad with Celluar

I was given an iPad for Christmas and our cellular carrier for our phones is Verizon.  however my iPad says AT&T.  Does that matter?  Can it be switched when i set it up?

That depends on Verizon. Verizon usually uses CDMA for its cellular connection on iPads. AT&T does not have this, so the iPads associated with AT&T don't have the hardware for this as they use GSM. Verizon iPads will also have sim slot for GSM sim cards, but its up to Verizon to want to issue a sim card for that.
You'll need to talk to Verizon to see if they can provide a GSM sim card that can be placed inside the AT&T iPad.

  • I nave an Ipad with a sim card. Why can I not install whatssap?

Tengo un IPad Retina con tarjeta sim de datos, y me gustaría saber por qué no puedo instalarle whatssap? Por qué no desarrollan esa aplicación para el IPad?

Because the people who make Whatsapp decided to make it compatible only with the iPhone.

  • Setting up iPads with Apple Configurator

Hi. A building shall buy several iPads for the new owners of the apartments. This building shall have a proper domotics app and surveillance apps.
I want to set up these iPads, which the owners shall keep for them, but these apps should not be deleted... The point is: Could the owners keep and use their iPads and install the apps they want plus the apps of the building not to be deleted? Or me, as the "Installer", do I have to allow them to do so?
    Thank you!

  • I've accidentally set up ipad with the wrong account, how do i reset it and get the apps on new account

Whilst setting up my mums ipad air, i used my account instead of creating a new one. Is there a way i can reset it and set it up again so she can use it and still download the free apps (iWork) etc

    Setup as new
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
You will not get the free apps because the free apps are registered to your Apple ID.

  • Set up iPad with exact mail config as macbook.  Not working

I am going mad.  Mail will recieve but not send.  Settings work fine on macbook.
I have checked and rechecked settings inc SMTP.
Tried syncing via itunes (sync mail accounts)
    Booted adn re booted
Mail sits in 'sending' mode and then tells me SMTP cannot be located/recognised.  Process to receive this message takes ages.
Any ideas where things are going wrong?

Yes, you should have no problems in doing it that way.
