Setting up itunes account without internet connection

I wanted to set up my itunes account, but I do not have internet access for my home computer.
Can I set up my account on a computer that is not my own?
Would this cause trouble with syncing my iphone with my own computer?

Rocky,
You are right, and I apologize, I misunderstood the OPs question.
Actually if you simply setup your network, but do not connect a cable to the internet, then you have your insulated network. As I understand it, with this setup the amber may still be flashing because it detects that you are not connected to the internet. But that won't prevent your local wireless network from working.
To do this click "Internet" in the tool bar of the Airport Utility --> At bottom select Off (Bridge Mode)" beside "Connection Sharing".
Let me know if this helps.

My I-pod wont connect with the network, so I reset my I-pod to see if that was the problem

    Try either:

  • HT2534 create itune account without a credit card I do not have the none option

I am trying to create an itune account on my iphone 5 I do not want to add a credit card.  I have read several posts that say select the none option I do not have that.  Please let me know how to set up itune account without a credit card just using it for free apps.

You are following the instructions on the page that you posted from exactly, and you are trying to create a new account and not update an existing account i.e. you are selecting a free app in the store and clicking on 'Create Apple ID' when 'buying' it ?

  • Receiving emails about a newly set up itunes account that does not belong to me (although has my name). The address used in connection with it seems to be in California and the person likes Justin Bieber - what's going on here?

Hi. I am receiving emails about a newly set up itunes account that does not belong to me (although has my name). The address used in connection with it seems to be in California and the person likes Justin Bieber (as I now have a receipt for that purchase). It states that it is billed to store credit. (a) I don't want to receive this person's information and (b) I certainly don't want to somehow be charged for it (although it appears, thus far, that I have not been). What's going on?

i didn't read a lot of your 2nd paragraph, but it seems like the password is the issue, right?
    do a true clean install
reboot your machine and hold down command+option+r, you should see a spinning globe - if you don't see the globe or anything that reads internet recovery, shut down and try again
at menu, chose disk utility and once there, find your HD on the left side, select the physical name and erase it as mac journaled
    exit disk utlity
    at menu, choose install OSX
this time, when it asks for a password just hit continue, it will let you complete without a password
you should be able to get into your laptop, now figure out what password you'll be able to use with your kb issue

  • HT1689 Can I set up an ITunes account without a credit card number?

We are using IPads in a school setting and having trouble setting up the ITunes account without a credit card number.  We are only allowed to download free apps, the school is not paying for any, therefore we do not need to have a credit card for purchases.  Is there a way to get around this so that we can still download the free apps onto the IPads?
    Thank you

If you only want the free apps, take a look here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is  critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

  • Is possible to transfer photos from a macbook pro to an iphone without itunes or an internet connection?

Is possible to transfer photos from a macbook pro to an iphone 5 without itunes or an internet connection? I'm a pro photographer and I need to transfer photos from my camera, edit them, copy photos to my iphone and send via 4G network to an editor. I will be in a location without internet access and my old computer itunes wont sync with my new iphone 5. I can't upgrade the computer right now because I need some of the old software.  Thanks.

  • I have just bought an ipad mini and want to add it to my itunes account. when I connect it its asking if i want to restore from my iphone or set up as new. which one do i choose please

    Hi shuvs,
Based on your description, you would most likely want to set it up as new, then simply add your iTunes account info during setup. There are also several other ways to add your existing content to your new iPad. You may find the following page helpful:

  • Can I update iOs using itunes without internet connection?

I am using an ipad mini 2, second generation. I plugged it in to itunes and there was an update avaible for ios 8. Can I update iOs using itunes without internet connection? Thank you

iTunes needs an internet connection to download the update if it has not already. Then it needs to verify the update with Apple servers prior to installation.
So in short, no, you do need at least some form of internet access to update.

    Hello Lozza63
Check out the article below to see what could be blocking you from selecting None as a form of payment.
Why can’t I select None when I edit my payment information?

  • HT1657 Watching movie without internet connection

Rented a movie at itunes and wanted to watch without internet connection. Is this possible?

A rental movie has to be authorized before you can play it, so you need an Internet connection and the ATV needs to be logged into your iTunes account.

  • My IPOD and Macbook Pro both will not connect to the Itunes store through Itunes says no internet connection, but I can connect through safari and I have a internet connection

My IPOD and Macbook Pro both will not connect to the Itunes store through Itunes says no internet connection, but I can connect through safari and I have a internet connection

As I mentioned above, I am not very tech savvy so I have no idea why a wireless protocol would be showing up there, I'm just listing everything I see in hopes that someone might know something I can try. This is why I am asking for help here - I'm not sure what has happened that has made me unable to connect, especially since it seemingly occured while nobody was using the computer.
I guess I should clarify that I'm not a total hillbilly- normally my firewall is set to 'on', but I set it to 'off' to try and troubleshoot the issues here as I was told that sometimes it can interfere with the computer's ability to connect to the internet. If this is not the case and firewall does not affect anything, I will turn it back on while I try to fix this.
I have tried the method you mentioned above a few times - I actually contacted my ISP earlier this week and they recommended resetting the router like that. They didn't mention any known network issues.

  • HT1766 can you have multiple iPhones in the same iTunes account without overwriting each phones content?

Can you have multiple iPhones in the same iTunes account without overwriting each phones content?

    Hi sandexpress,
As Ocean20 indicates, you want to make sure that you have automatic syncing turned off. In iTunes Preferences under Devices, make sure you have "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checked. Then connect each iPhone, and make sure that "Manually Manage Music and Videos" is checked on the Info page for each of them. Then go into each page for each device, and select what you want to sync to that particular device. (you would do this one device at a time - complete the steps for one of the phones, then connect the next one and do the same thing).
With this kind of setup, you can modify what will sync at any given time for a particular device once you have connected it to iTunes, but before you click on the Sync button at the bottom of the screen. If you want to change some sync options on a particular device, you would just go into the page you wanted to change (Music, Photos, Apps, etc.), make your changes, and then Sync.
If you do not have any changes, you can just hook up the phone and click on Sync.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
