Setting up Jakarata for win ME/2000
I have the apache http server running properly and I have downloaded the jakarta tomact zip file from their download site but I don't know what to do now. Plz Help!!!!
In order to allow the communication between apache http server and tomcat, you should use mod_jserv and mod_jk, both of them can be downloaded from http://jakarta.apache.org within the source of tomcat. However, since you mentioned you are running that on Windows. It means you should compile those dlls on your own. I think you'd better try it out first, since there is full documentation in the apache site talking about it. Maybe you will find yourself no problem after you follow the instructions it stated.

How do I order free CD for Oracle database 8i/9i?
8i is out of support. You won't get it on any media (unless, perhaps, you're an existing Oracle Support customer and you ask nicely and they feel generous).
With OTN it used to be that we could get one product on free CD. Everything else had to be downloaded. I blew mine on JDeveloper3.1. Looking at the OTN download pages now I think they have withdrawn that option. Therefore, the only way to get Oracle 9i on CD is to pay for it.

J2sdk1.2.1 for win 2000 Setting path
Hi all,
Can Any one help me to set all path for running J2ee on my system i have just installed j2sdkee1.2.1 on my system.
Thanks in advance
Regards
VijayWhat exactly is your issue? Are you having trouble compiling applications or deploying and running them? Are you using J2EE 1.2 or was that a slip of the finger? Do you have some requirment that is forcing you to use 1.2, if not, why not use 1.4 instead?

Hello,
I've got my Photosmart c4580 for a while know, I still think it might be possible to get it wirelesse.
The CD that was sold with it to set up the wifi connection does not work for Windows 7!!! Any idea, what I could download instead? All drivers are updated.
Many thanks indeed,

PCMCIA-GPIB for win 2000 running on cPCI bus via a cPCI PC Card Adapter
We are trying to use a PCMCIA-GPIB for win 2000 running on cPCI bus via a cPCI PC Card Adapter. Our OS is WIN2K SP3 and we are running version 1.7 (latest) of the drivers. Unfortunately when using the "getting started" wizard and the "verify software and hardware installation" the system occasionally doesn't pass the third test. When it does, we try to scan for instruments using MAX Explorer to talk to a Agilent CW generator via GPIB but it cannot find the instrument. Doing the same thing on a laptop PC is successfully achieved. Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
Although it should be transparent to the PCMCIA card, I have also have had some problems with some adapters. Specifically, I have been able to install the card in a PCI-PCMCIA adapter form Qualtech, but not if I'm using a cPCI Cirrus Logig adapter. We haven't been able to find a cause for this.
If you need a GPIB interface in a cPCI system, you might consider the PXI-GPIB. PXI fully compliant with the cPCI standard.

DSCP (Differentiated Services Code Point)
value always set to ‘0’ for outgoing packet on win 7
I have setup – Controller (Win 7) and Responder (Win XP)
In controller I setup DSCP value to something – ‘50’ (in hex 0x32) and perform RTP call
Then I sniff packets using ‘Wireshark’ where I found DSCP value from Controller to Responder not able to set but which is able to set in packet from Responder to Controller.
Controller to Responder
Responder to Controller
When I run same application under same network, where Controller and Responder are having Win XP, then DSCP value appear in layer 3 protocol.
When I googled then learned I need to do some registry changes mentioned in below links -
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc758910(WS.10).aspx
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2733528/en-us
But this solution did not help to resolve my problem.
Later I did followed changed in Local Group Policy Editor but which was also fruitless.
I do not want to set some fix DSCP value for all outgoing traffic, as my application has provision to take an input for DSCP value from user.

I'll involved another engineer who had more knowledge with your problem. Thanks for your understanding.

Classpath on win NT/2000/XP
I am now trying to distribute my Java aplication on windows platforms. I made my aplication work on win 95/98/ME by modifying the autoexec.bat file, but in win NT/2000/XP there is no autoexec.bat file.
I know you can set the environment variables manually but i want to do that programatically or any other way (C++ or bat files)
I also tried this on a .bat file, but it does not work:
set classpath=%classpath%;c:\arcabin\jaxp\xml4j.jar
set classpath=%classpath%;c:\arcabin\jaxp\dtdparser115.jar
java -jar MyProject.jar
Please help me! thanx in advance.set classpath=%classpath%;c:\arcabin\jaxp\xml4j.jarAre you sure this doesn't work?
It looks correct and something similar works fine for me (win2000).
Is there a CLASSPATH-variable set before you run the first set classpath=%classpath%-line in the batch-file - if not the classpath might not be properly set - try running the command "echo %classpath%" before you run the batch-file.

Problem using Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 on Satellite L750-1MT
Hello!
I have problem using Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 on Satellite L750-1MT (PSK30E-02T002B3) with no OS preinstalled.
I do the following:
1. Install Windows 7 x64, SP1.
2. Install LAN driver (device was not recognized by Windows 6) (downloaded from [http://se.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/supportMyProduct.do?service=SE&LNG=26&userAction=S MP_RESULTS_PAGE&partNumber=PSK30E-02T002B3&serialNumber=&USER_ACTION=Serial%20number])
3. Install all Windows Updates from Microsoft
4. Run Toshiba Software Installer for Win 7 - it installs a couple of drivers and then asks to reboot.
Here is the log file for the first try (win7update.log):
Update started 12\28\2011 at 21:11
Installed TVALZ_O.INF
Installed IO & Memory Access Driver
driver_bluetooth_TC00241200A.exe /s /log /test has been installed with the result code of PASS
util_tvap_TC00215000H.exe /s /log /test /wait15 has been installed with the result code of PASS
Update completed at 21:29
After reboot I run it again and the result is:
Update started 12\28\2011 at 21:38
Toshiba Bluetooth stack has already been installed.
Toshiba Value Added Package has already been installed.
Update completed at 21:40
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance! You are right this notebook model was delivered without OS.
Win7 64bit is supported for this notebook model and all necessary drivers, tools and utilities are available on Toshiba download page.
What I can say is that all this stuff must be installed in right install order. I know it sounds stupid now but I recommend you to make clean OS again and continue installation following this installation order:

Where Can I Download ToolboxFX For Win XP
I have an HP Laserjet Pro CP1525nw printer (connected via USB) on a Mac Pro running OSX 10.7.5 and have been trying to find a way to increase the toner density setting for certain uses (printed circuit board direct transfer sheet printing). I bought this printer around November 2012.
I found out that your utility program ToolboxFX will accomplish this task, but you do not offer a Mac version.
I do have Win XP installed to run under VMWare Fusion so I tried to find an XP version of ToolboxFX that I could install there. I ran into problems with internet connectivity, which was necessary to download the MS .net something or another package required by the installer. So I gave up on that effort.
Next I tried to install XP under BootCamp, but ran into so many problems that I abandoned that effort and went back to trying to get the connectivity problems with XP fixed under Fusion. I finally got that to work and last night installed CP1520series_nw_full_solution.exe including that MS .net something or another. After the second attempt it saw and connected to the printer.
Unfortunately CP1520series_nw_full_solution.exe does not install ToolboxFX. A link on your web page to download ToolboxFX instead leads to a download for OJProK850_Toolbox_en.exe, which is something for some inkjet printer that doesn't even recognize the printer driver. The installation disk that came with the printer contains the same CP1520series_nw_full_solution.exe installer and does not include contain ToolboxFX that I can see.
I tried to contact live chat with this question but after typing all this in, I found out that they do not support out of warranty products.
Can somebody please give me a link to download an installer for ToolboxFX for Win XP. The HP website keeps sending me in circles that lead nowhere. Thanks. Is this the package that you installed? According to what I have been told it should include Win XP ToolboxFX.

... BTW, when you perform the - Weekly "Macrium - Image Backups", do you backup to a local USB cable connected External Usb Drive or wireless wifi connected to a NAS Drive ?
I have a Verbatim 2TB external USB 3.0 drive plugged into the PC. It's used for both my weekly image backups as well as my nightly data backups. I have one of these on EACH machine in my environment, for backups local to that machine. I also use them on machines I build for friends and family, as everybody needs a backup system for "priceless data".
Actually, to be a bit more complete, my "data" backups consists of two parts: (1) 1st-of-the-month FULL backups of all my data, and (2) nightly INCREMENTAL backups which handles anything created/changed in the past 24 hours. Thus a "backup set" consists of the beginning FULL backup coupled with the ever-growing throughout-the-month set of nightly INCREMENTAL backups.
NovaBACKUP can handle all of this if you need to recover something, so you yourself don't need to know exactly which backup file your file is located on. You simply identify the folder/file(s) you wish to recover, and the AS-OF date you want for that file (with "as of the latest version available" being the default). If you want to recover an older version than the most current version, you simply slide a GUI time-slider backwards until you arrive at the as-of date you desire. NovaBACKUP then figures out where the most current version is AS OF THE DESIRED DATE, and accesses that one-or-more backup files in order to complete your task.
I retain multiple "backup sets" (going back 4 complete months), so I can recover any folder/file(s) I had available on any specific night during the past 4 months. Most commonly of course it's typically "get me the most current version available as of last night", but just in case that version is corrupt or I truly want an earlier version, I can get it easily. -
Cannot set default programs for a file extension in Gnome
After a gnome upgrade (cannot remember when), I can no longer set the default program for a particular file extension by right clicking the file in nautilus -> going to "properties" -> going to "open with" tab -> highlighting a program -> pressing "set as default".
The program I was trying to set was totem for default video playback; wine had made windows media player the default player prior. Interestingly, once I installed gnome-mplayer; the default program changed to gnome-mplayer and I was then able to switch default programs. This error may be related to wine.

Where do I set up rules for conflict resolution when syncing iTunes with Outlook?
I just got an iPhone 5 and I'm coming from a Blackberry. I've been syncing Outlook Calendar and Contacts to a portable device for over 10 years, even back in the day of the pocket pc and more recently the Blackberry. My iPhone 5 syncs great and seemlessly with Outlook using iTunes. I've had no issues as of yet. The problem for me is, it just seems "too" easy. I didn't see anywhere where I could set rules for conflict resolutions. For example, if your pc says one thing but your iPhone says another, who wins and supercedes the other? What if by accident your iPhone loses all of its data, then iTunes syncs with your pc - will it delete all the Outlook data on your pc because it thinks it's syncing with updated data from your iPhone? (in my case data I've had for over 10 years)
With the Blackberry software it asked you to set up rules for conflict resolution when first connecting the phone (including an option to ask you first). In my case, I chose to have it ask me whenever it discovered a conflict. So whenever I synced, it specifically alerted me exactly how many items are being synced, and then if there were any conflicts, it'd stop and then ask me which device I want to supercede the other. This gave me a lot of piece of mind. Now after getting my iPhone and using iTunes to sync, it's been great so far but I have to say that I don't have as much piece of mind. Does anyone have any feedback on how to set up conflict resolution with iTunes and Outlook or does it not exist at all? Again, what would happen if there was a conflict between the two devices?Yes! Thankyou for that. I had of course put the context.xml file in the web-inf directory.
I followed your example to the letter and it still wouldn't work. Or rather, I followed to the letter expect for the difference between "WEB" and "META".
Once I worked that out, it started working like a dream.
Note to anyone else who has a similar problem, make sure you REALLY look at the answer given. Make sure you REALLY do have all the files in the suggested places. It will save you time.
Thanks again. -
