How do i save a new gmail user name and password??

Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them.

    2. Notification Center: ON
    3. Alert Style: Banners or Alerts (I've only tested it to work with Banners...)
    4. Show Preview: ON

Hi uneleashurself and thanks for your answer.
Forgive my language but getting to talk to the Safaricom customer service is a real pain in the **bleep** - if you ever get to talk to them, that is.
I've never got an answer to my phone calls in three years and their customer assistans in the shops usually have no clue about whatever it is you're asking them.
I talked to a few of them in a couple of different Safaricom shops and they didn't know what I was talking about.
Still, I believe Safaricom is not the problem as other people I know who have a BlackBerry on Safaricom haven't experienced this problem.

My icloud email address is included in a friend's address group set up in Gmail.  When they send an email to the group, the email never gets through to my icloud address - why?

They've always been able to send to me individually - just not when my email is part of a group or even when it's just included with several other addresses added one at a time.

  • When I try to set up my gmail account to imap on iphone 4s it says it doesn't recognize my password for gmail

When I try to set up my gmail account on imap on iphone 4s it says it doesn't recognize my password even though my gmail account works on my computer.

Try it both with and without the @gmail part.
At one time it was optional, now Gmail seems to want the entire username.
If that doesn't fix it, sign out from your computer and and log in again, but type the password to verify it is really correct. There is no mystery to it, Gmail will work with the correct name and password.

  • Can't set up a Gmail account in Apple Mail

I've tried many times to set up a Gmail account on my iMac in Mail. No problems in setting up the same account on the Mail client on my iPhone and iPad, but each attempt on my iMac gets me this message: "There was a problem setting up the Mail account. Mail couldn't discover the account settings for the Mail server "myaccount.com".
    Any ideas?

have you tried putting in the settings manually ?

Ok, I've had thie issue with various email address on and off for aout a year now. I finally found a soulution:
    Login to the Google account giving you problems;
    Go to: https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
    Hit "Continue".
Go to Apple Mail and hit "Get Mail" for that account.
Repeat for each account continually asking for password.

  • Setting Up Two Gmail Accounts in Mail...

I'm setting up two gmail accounts in my Mail on my Mac Book Pro. One account connects fine, but the other does not. Preferences and settings appear to be the same...
Can anyone suggest how I could fix this?

Did you enabled IMAP and POP access from Gmail's settings? Open gmail.com and go to settings / forwarding and POP IMAP and make sure everything is ok.
    Let me know, bye

  • Set up email (gmail) with BELLE

I upgraded my E6 with BELLE OS. Since then, it is impossible to set up my gmail account. and it is impossible to downgrade to previous OS where it was working. So far, nobody from support team could help me. It is a very regrettable situation. when upgrading my stuff, i expect better experience than before, in this case, it is worse!

I'm also having trouble setting up my Gmail account since "upgrading" my N8 to Belle. After setting up my gmail account with [email protected] and an application-specific password (I've enabled 2-factor auth for my account) none of my messages are downloaded and my phone becomes completely unresponsive. To confirm it was still happening, I just set up my gmail account again and now my phone is unresponsive to all input (power, unlock slider, menu button, camera, touch screen). I will have to hold down the power button, wait for 3 vibrations, and then power it back up and delete my gmail account quickly before it becomes unresponsive again. In the mean time, I hope I'm not getting any phone calls.
Can I get my phone pushed back to Anna? She wasn't perfect but holy **bleep**, this is nuts. The only semi-useful feature of Belle is the pull down notifications bar, but that isn't valuable enough to put up with the rest of this. I wish I hadn't installed Belle. Better yet, I wish I had gone with an Android or a feature phone and hadn't listened to the Symbian fanbois. YAY 12MP CAMERA AND CARL ZEISS OPTICS. ain't doing much now...
I tried emailing customer support and their suggestion was to back up, factory reset the phone, reinstall Belle, and restore from backup. Ugh.

  • Problem on setting up my Gmail account on my Ipod 4.

When setting up my gmail account on my Ipod 4, a message appears: "Cannot Get Mail: The user name or password for "imap.gmail.com" is incorrect". However, there is no mistake on my user name or password, I've checked it over and over again and it's all correct. Does anyone ever had this problem? Any solutions?

You need to log into your Google account and change/check. I just go to my web Goggle mail and then go Settings in the upper right and then to Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
The is also a link that say how to set up the account on different devices/programs.

  • Why has my iPad downloaded over 7000 spam messages into a folder called gmail/all mail?  I have not set up a gmail account on my iPad

Why has my iPad downloaded over 7000 spam messages into a folder called gmail/all mail?  I have not set up a gmail account on my iPad

No you will not have to set up the iPad all over again. Resetting the iPad is like rebooting your computer. You will lose no apps, data, settings .... Nothing at all. I like to use the expression that it's like "clearing out the cobwebs" on the iPad's memory.
The reason I am suggesting this is that there are some other sort of bizarre issues that occur in the mail app and the reset seems to clear up those issues. So I think it is worth a try.
On the other hand, if you have restored the iPad to factory settings, I don't know that it will help. If nothing else works, try going to your web mail using a browser and see if you can't deal with this in there.

  • Just set up my new ipad Air and cannot set up my gmail account into mail ?

Just set up my new ipad Air and cannot set up my gmail account into mail ?

    EASY SIMPLE FIX....
    The problem is Google.
I had the same problem, couldn't install Gmail on my ipad or iphone and kept saying wrong / incorrect password, error messages. Worked for hours and hours on this.
It is Google's (optional) 2-step verification system that is to blame.
Google won't tell you this, and instead, they have come up with work arounds, and even telling people to install the Gmail iPhone/ipad app, which then limites the iphone/pad functionality when not using iphone's native mail.
    FIX:
    Logon to Google...
Go into your Google account preferenes
DELETE your cell number used for 2-step verification...... leave it blank
(it is optional, Google does not require you use 2-step verification)
    Thats it. Your'e done.
Now set up your Gmail (now called Google) as usual on your Apple device.
You don't need 2-step (optional) verification.
There are other secure ways to do this. It is an option, but Google goes out of it's way not to tell you this.
(and a great way for Google to gleen your personal information, in the name of security)
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Gmail not working on browser or in setting up a gmail account

I am new to using my MacBook and have been trying to set up my gmail account--says the password is invalid.  Tried to log in using Safari--no luck there either.  My password works on PC's.
I have tried repairing the disk, updated computer--no luck.
Is there another procedure before I get here.  I watched teh videos on Apple but no help there either.

Are you trying to log into the same Google account on any computer?
Are you logging out of Google?
I remember giving a class once on how to setup a Google email account, it wouldn't let me make multiple accounts on the same machine, or from the same IP address when I switched machines.
However Google search should work fine if your logged out.
Only think I can thinkk of is you got malware on the PC and it changed the DNS settings on the router, working with the PC to divert your Google traffic elsewhere.
I would reset the router, update it's firmware, make a new SSID and password, and then try with a single Mac, to work out the bugs, then the second Mac and finally roll up the PC last.
