Enabling Oracle Management Service to Access My Oracle Support
Unless online access to the Internet is strictly forbidden in your environment, Oracle Management Service should be enabled to access My Oracle Support. This access is necessary to enable updates and patches to be downloaded, for example.
At minimum, the following URLs should be made available through the firewall:
    aru-akam.oracle.com
    ccr.oracle.com
    login.oracle.com
    support.oracle.com
    updates.oracle.com
    About the dontProxyfor Property
When you configure the Oracle Management Service or a Management Agent to use a proxy server, it is important to understand the purpose of the dontProxyFor property, which identifies specific URL domains for which the proxy will not be used.
For example, suppose the following were true:
You have installed the Oracle Management Service and several Management Agents on hosts that are inside the company firewall. These hosts are in the internal .example.com and .example.us.com domains.
You have installed several additional Management Agents on hosts that are outside the firewall. These hosts are installed in the .example.uk domain.
You have configured Enterprise Manager to automatically check for critical software patches on My Oracle Support.
In this scenario, you want the Oracle Management Service to connect directly to the Management Agents inside the firewall without using the proxy server. On the other hand, you want the Oracle Management Service to use the proxy server to contact the Management Agents outside the firewall, as well as the My Oracle Support site, which resides at the following URL:
    http://support.oracle.com
The following properties will prevent the Oracle Management Service from using the proxy server for connections to the Management Agents inside the firewall. Connections to My Oracle Support and to Management Agents outside the firewall will be routed through the proxy server:
    proxyHost=proxy42.example.com
    proxyHost=80
    dontProxyFor=.example.com, .example.us.com
PS: Cygwin has nothing to do with My Oracle Support connection. Cygwin is ONLY required for agent deployment using agent push from OMS.

  • Very Basic:  Can I install OEM 12c in a 'Database Control' style?

    Environment:
    Oracle 11.2.0.3 EE on Solaris 5.10 u10
No experience with OEM, yet ...
I would like to set up OEM 12c for one (1) Test database but want to make the installation as easy as possible and without as much of the 'Cloud' control 'stuff' for managing several databases. Kind of like the 11g Database Control versus Grid Control.
We're in the planning stages of setting up a 'real' OEM 12c environment but I wanted to get a jump on things using this small test database.
I've been reading the Basic and Advanced Installation manuals but haven't seen anything about a leaner/smaller installation type.
Oh yes, I need to use the 'silent' install method as we did for the databases.
Pointers to other docs I'm missing are appreciated.
    Any suggestions are most welcome.
    Thanks very much.

Thanks very much for the confirmation! I feel better that I couldn't find anything in the documentation.
I appreciate your taking the time to respond.

  • Reinstall After Hard Drive Errors

The system restore from the hard drive is a great idea except when your hard drive is dropping bad sectors left and right.  One of my clients bought a 3000 Desktop with Windows Vista Business 13 months ago.  I got the call that the system wouldn't boot.  Corrupted system registry.  Auto-Repair didn't work.  Backed up the data and went the F11 route, but always getting an error at the tail end that a file didn't install correctly.
The client never used the DVD/CDRW and, of course, it didn't work.  Pressing open/close let you hear the motor with no motion.  The paperclip released the tray slightly, but there was severe tension.  I removed it from the chassis and as soon as I turned it on its side you could hear the rattling inside.
I brought it back to my office, installed another ATAPI DVD drive and a brand new Seagate 250GB Sata drive and tried to install Windows XP (I was going to go for XP Downgrade Rights at my clients request).  XP could not complete the graphic install portion with file copy errors.  I tried two other DVD drives, one other hard drive and three different sets of OEM Windows XP media:  Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Pro w/SP1 and Windows XP Pro w/SP2.  Same result.  I tried long formats with same results.
For the most part I myself use Intel Boxed motherboards DQ965JO's now, but I've gone back through systems with Intel boards as far back as 845 chipsets and never had these problems loading the basic OS.
Do the Lenovo drivers have to be slipstreamed into the OS?

    dwb and shootist007,
I re installed snow leopard and did the following:
    signed in to apps/purchases
then my lion OS which i had purchased (button next to it read download) and hit the download button
    currently downloading
    will see what happens
    Shootist007,
You have to have snow leopard to be able to get the app icon and access the app store.  If you internet access is slow you should look to getting the thumb drive.
    hope this helps
    thank you both

  • Workflow Deployment Wizard - in OWB

I am working with Oracle Warehouse Builder, and I can generate all my project and I can also register my jobs in OEM by OWB.
Now I'm trying to run the "Workflow Deployment Wizard", in order to schedue my jobs into Workflow.
I need to do that, and I've already installed the "Oracle Workflow Server" in the same machine where the Oracle9iAS is located (SUN).
The infrastructure database is located in another SUN machine.
In order to install Oracle Workflow Server in Oracle9iAS, I followed the instructions to install InterConnect, that has embeded the Workflow.
In the workflow login, I connect with the user "owf_mgr" and I follow
clicking next untill the end. In the last window, "Finish", I keep selected the box "Do you want to deploy Workflow Process into Oracle Enterprise Manager?" and click "Finish".
So, only the first 3 jobs are created into OEM, the "Item Type". Afther that, the following error message appears:
WKF0012: Oracle Enterprise Manager job registration failed:
WKF0013: Oracle Enterprise Manager job registration failed.
Verify that the Oracle Management Server is running and that the
Oracle Enterprise Manager Directory parameter in the warehouse module is configured correctly.
Does anyone have any idea of what's happening here? I'd very glad if you could help me.
    Thanks in advance
    P.S.:
    - My OEM is installed on a SUN machine and its version is 9.2.0.1.0.

    - I have a thirth SUN machine, with Oracle Infrastructure.

  • Desktop 4.7 Delays Dell Precision internal NIC network loading for 4-6 Minutes on EVERY BOOT!

I just discovered the cause of a major problem I have been having for the past 6 weeks. When I would boot up my Dell precision 390 computer running Vista-32bit I would not get an error but a MAJOR delay before the integrated NIC would actually start working. In other words I would turn on the computer, enter my login password and the computer would boot and then I would immediatly notice that my nic notification in the tray was red X'd out. Then 4-6 minutes later the boot process would finish and the NIC indicator would turn green and the remainder of my startup applications would load.
I tore everything apart trying to find the cause. Finally (After calling Dell,, googling forever) it drove me so bonkers I  took Dell's advice and reloaded my computer from scratch. I thought I must have corrupted something along the way and it's been 8 months since I relaoded what the hay, I'll fix this #&%#%* thing for good... or so I thought. I spent the last 3 days loading all my apps back on, testing the boot times with no problems until tonight! I had rebooted and loaded up Photoshop and updated it then downloaded the Blackberry desktop with media manager in English only and after it slowly installed itself it wanted a reboot. I rebooted and BOOM I was back with the same problem.
I backed up my phone and reloaded my apointments for the next week and decided to give it a reboot one more time. Same deal, computer took 5 minutes after login to finally get the NIC turned on. I uninstalled Blackberry desktop and I'm back in action with normal boots.
The amount of time and energy it took to get this problem ironed out was out of hand. Anyway, I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this and is thier a work around for this problem? Anyone?

I originally reported this feature about a month ago. I decided I did not like my 8220 Flip and got a BOLD this week. Well I had to go through the Desktop manager installation once again, this time I picked v4.7 English W/O Roxio Media Manager. After 4 reboots of the machine the network loads right up! So, I think I have narrowed my problem down to either a feature of the 8220 Flip and ROXIO or just ROXIO.
I'll miss certain things about the flip but I am glad to be able to have Desktop Manager on my computer. Before I used to have to load Desktop Manager, Sync, then un-install Desktop Manager or I would have to sit through a good 6 minute wait until my networking in Vista started to work.
This time as well as last I selected to NOT have Desktop Manager start at boot.
It's a shame I spent so much time loading and unloading Desktop Manager!
If anyone is looking for a unlocked 8220 Flip with OEM belt holster, 2 OEM power supplies (micro USB), 2 OEM car chargers micro USB, 2 brand new sets of OEM headphones, original box and all original items in near mint condition drop me an email.

  • Another Xfi unknown sou

I have a OEM Xtreme Music card and have it running perfectly now within windows and 99% of my games & other software. The one thing i am noticing is a kind of low bleep when playing CSS and when other people are keying up through the ingame voice chat.
Now i can get the same sound at my end if i unplug my mic from my headset and put it back in. I am wondering if this is a sound to indicate that a device as been unplugged/plugged in. Yes?
But why am i getting it from other people online? Is there a setting that can get rid of this? Just seems strange that i get it off other users and not myself ingame.
Another thing i never had this with my Audigy 2 before 4 days ago.
Cheers in advance for any advice

Hi all, and thanks for the replies. But....
I'm not using the front panel. It's with my headset which is split through the sound card outputs with my Logitech 5. speakers. Not using HLSW (Well i do have it on but only use it to keep an eye on my usual servers. I'm not going in to game through it) It's not a humming sound. More of a low bleep/ding sort of sound. And as i said this is from other people in game. Not me. And also i'm using a set of OEM drivers/software from here....
    http://www.youp-pax.org/viewthread.php?tid=362&extra=page%3D
It's not a loud sound and it's not that annoying. Just that it's there and i never had this before. Everything else is great on my PC with this card.
    Anymore ideas guy's?
    And thanks again

  • Oracle Services & Management Server

    (1) I had installed Oracle 8.1.7 on Window2000 Advance Server. Generally in NT Server, upon restarting
server all services come up automatically, but my Oracle Services shows started and when I try to
connect through SQL Plus it gives me error "0RA-27101 - SHARED MEMORY REALM DOES NOT EXIST". So to
start up database I am using svrmgrl option.
Can somebody help in configuring services so that when I start server all services also come up
    automatically.
    (2) Also when I am trying to take Backup, it prompt message saying that connect to Oracle Management Server
and launch this Wizard. But I am not been able to configure my Oracle Management Server.. Can somebody
tell me how to configure Oracle Management Server so that I can take-up cold as well logical back up
    using this option.

    Hi,
If you have installed Enterprise Manager on your system, it comes with Configuration Wizard. The Configuration Wizard helps you to configure and set up OEM interactively.
You can find the information to configure the OEM under Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration Guide has step-by-step procedure for setting up the OEM. You can find this documentation under the link
    http://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle8i/doc_library/817_doc/em.817/index.htm

  • Restart primary database - stupid question

I have a 10.1 primary database and have set, via OEM, DG with a physical standby database on another server.
I can use DG to switch the standby from read-only to standby and back.
My studpid question is that I need to stop and restart my primary database and I'm worried that if I shutdown the primary database that DG/OEM will see it down and try and set the standby as the primary.
I'm not sure where to look to see if it will automatically fail over or not. In this case I'm hoping not and that in a failure situation in the future I'd have to manually switch roles to make the standby database the primary database.
    Hope it all makes sense?
    James.

If you dont have fast start failover enabled then shutting down the primary will not affect the standby and no auto failover will occur.
Have a look in OEM on the DataGuard screen:
Under the Overview section - if it says the below then you can restart your primary without anything being initiated:
    Fast-Start Failover Disabled

  • B570 600GB HDD with bad sectors (Recovery issue)

    Hi,
I run into a series issue.
    some facts before:
*The 600GB HDD has bad sectors (checked with WD test tool-boot cd)
*The bad sectors are only on the beginning of the physical drive (D partition and LENOVO_PART are intact and fully readable)
*Managed to recover most of the data of C drive (With restorer 2000)
*Managed to clone the D partition and LENOVO_PART to a new 500GB HDD
I can't seems to find a way to use the tiny recovery button, its failing and asking me to boot from cd.
Don't have any of B570 model but I tried to use a recovery cd of T410 to boot. but I can't see any restore partition.
    Only cd recovery option.
Any help on how to recover from the cloned recovery partition will be great.
    Thanks!

    hi get2guy,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
The OneKey Recovery button will only work if the partition structure of the system is not damage.  On the new HDD that was cloned with the D-Drive and the OEM Recovery Partition, try to
    1. Create a bootable Gparted USB/CD and boot from it
    2. On the User Interface, set the OEM Recovery Partition as Active/Boot/Primary
    3. Reboot and remove the Gparted USB/CD and see if it boots the recovery partition as shown in this article.
If the above procedure doesn't work, you will need to reinstall the OS using a retail OS or use a lenovo recovery discs (if you were not able to create one using this method then you will need to contact lenovo on how to obtain a copy of the B570 recovery discs).
    Hope this helps

  • Weblogic cluster on 12c

Is any restrictions set by OEM/Clouds 12c on the number of clusters that can be created/managed under one domain?
    Regards

    Hi,
As such there is no restriction in the number of clusters to be configured in a single domain.
Being said that, you should configured the AdminServer with appropriate resource (tuned with respect to memory, running hardware) as with increase in number of server the amount of data collected by AdminServer increases.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to make an encrypted compressed RMAN backup and recovery

Hallo!I am trying to make an RMAN backup that is compressed (definitely use compressed backup set in OEM).
But my emphasis is to make the backup encrypted with a key (hoping to use Public Key Infrastructure )such that the database data can be sent via the network and the recepient can use a decryption key to decrypt the data.
The recepient must also use a password to access the encrypted file for decryption.
Is it possible to do this?If so please give the steps.
    Thanks.

You can encrypt the backupset with RMAN Encrypted Backups, however Oracle Advanced Security Option (additional cost) is required.
