Setting up port duplex

I am trying to set up the speed duplex as "full", but the port not allowing me this operation, showing the error of unrecognized command, however beside this port, all the other ports on same switch are accepting the command.
Note: Cross cable is connected to this port.
Please suggest

Duplex is set to full on the other end, to make this end same, i want this also to be full, but it is not accepting the command?
What should i do?

  • Setting WAN Port Speed on RV180

We have an RV180 and can not get connected to a port on CPE equipment after setting the WAN port on the RV180 to 100/Full.
The CPE equip port is set to 100 Mb/Full Duplex.  When the port on the RV180 WAN is set to AUTO and we connect to the CPE we see a lot of CRC errors and very poor performance.  When we set the RV180 WAN Port to 100/Full we see no traffic at all.
We have a Cisco ASA 5150 router connecting to the a different port on the same CPE and when we set its port to 100/Full we see very good performance.
We have upgraded the RV180 to the latest FW (1.0.3.10) but that didn't solve the problem.
Can anyone provide assistance with setting the WAN port to 100/Full with success?
    Thank you,
    John

Hi John, incrementing CRC errors traditionally indicate a physical problem. I've not known it to indicate anything different.

  • 3750X switches - get the port duplex by SNMP

    Hello,
I'm trying to get the 3750X switch port duplex state by SNMP. It looks like the only available OID is portDuplex, but this is for operational duplex, not the admin duplex.
So, if the portDuplex shows full(2) for a port in SNMP, you can't tell if the port is hard set to "full" or auto-negociated to "full".
As oposed to the CLI, where a "sh int status" command will show "full" for the hard-set ports and "a-full" for ports that auto-negociated to full.
For port speed, it looks like "portAdminSpeed" OID does the job.
So, my question is, using SNMP, how can I tell if a port's duplex is hard set or not??
    Thank you,
    Laura

    Hi,
How to check whether its stack cable problem or stack port problem on respective switch.
Most of the time the issue is the stack cable and not the port.  Try inserting the cable all the way into the slot.  With 3750x switches the slots are narrow and some times you need a flash light to look to make sure the cable is in all the way.
If I change the stack priority on switch 2 and switch 1 , do I need to reboot whole the stack so that new priorities for switch 2 and switch 1 would change to new values.
Yes, reboot the entire stack, after the election switch 2 should be 14 and switch 1 13.
I would correct the stacking cable issue as well before rebooting.

  • How do you set up Port Forwarding for ARD 2.2 in AEB N?

    Help,
I'm a novice at Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) - not an IT guy, so it has to be pretty basic and detailed.
How do you set up Port Forwarding for ARD 2.2 on the Apple Airport Extreme BS router, 802.11 N. I have one at each end of the internet connection. At one end I have an Airport Extreme N router with 2 macs and eventually 1 windows XP machine (if I can) that I would like to be able to connect to over the interenet (the clients) and at the other end, I have a Mac with ARD 2.2 installed also with an Airport Extreme N router. Note: Both routers use Static IP addresses and all computers use static IP's internally not through DHCP. What are the settings or directions to do this.
I have read and printed out the directions for Configuration of ARD 3.0 that are posted many times in the ARD discusion group, but it uses a Linksys router ( http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm posted by Dave Sawyer). The Mac router is different, particularly with the place to set a Private IP address. I'm not sure about alot of things, but especially about the Private IP address, what number do I set it to, the one that is in my Network connections list? It automatically changes to a different number in AE N setup for Port Forwarding (by one) as if it is not suppose to the same?????
Are there any directions available that are as straight forward for the Airport Extreme N router, as the one's that are listed here for the Linksys Router's? ( http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm )
Any and All help will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I know I should have 3.0 but bought 2.2 just weeks before 3.0 came out and they would not give me an upgrade price, so I'm waiting for 4.0 to upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Try the following for each AirPort Extreme ...
    AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
    Internet > DHCP tab
o On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
o Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>
o Reserve address by: MAC Address
    o Click Continue.
o MAC Address: <enter the MAC (what Apple calls Ethernet ID if you are using wired or AirPort ID if wireless) hardware address of the host computer>
    o IPv4 Address: <enter the desired IP address>
    o Click Done.
    2. Setup Port Mapping on the AEBSn.
    Advanced > Port Mapping tab
o Click the "+" (Add) button
o Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    o Public UDP Port(s): 3283
    o Public TCP Port(s): 3283
o Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>
    o Private UDP Port(s): 3283
    o Private TCP Port(s): 3283
    o Click "Continue"
o Click the "+" (Add) button
o Service: <choose the appropriate service from the Service pop-up menu>
    o Public UDP Port(s):
    o Public TCP Port(s): 5900
o Private IP Address: <enter the IP address of the host server>

  • How to set up port forwarding on extreme with NAS

I've purchased a NAS (Synology DS211j with 2 caviar HD) over a month ago. Setting up the NAS for wireless connection locally was easy. I've been trying for 3 weeks on how to set-up port forwarding on my airport extreme base. I''ve researched and read countless threads on port forwarding and still cannot grasp the concept and the step by step provided.  I need somebody that's patient enough to hand hold and guide me through this frustrating problem.
    Equipment:
Comcast cable modem connected into Airport Extreme Base
Synology DS211j connected to Airport Extreme Base
    Problem:
Cannot connect to my DiskStation via internet from wherever
confused whether to use FTP or Personal file sharing or whatever is the most suitable for my needs
Just need to access files on my DiskStation view/upload/download from wherever I'm at, whether on PC or Macbook Pro

Here are the basic steps to configure your NAS for port mapping:
    AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
AirPort Utility > Select the AEBSn > Manual Setup > Internet > DHCP tab

  • I have the new Air Port Extreeme model A1521 and I need to set up port forwarding for HTTP. HTTP is not on the list in the set up. Does anyone know if any of those choices work for HTTP?

I am on a Windows 7 Ultimate PC and right now there is no Airport utility for setting up the new Apple Extreme so you have to do it on your iPad or iPhone. Does anyone know how to set up port forwarding for HTTP to get to DVR security cameras? There is nothing in the list that indicates HTTP port forwarding.

Thanks for your reply Tesserax as I did figure this out on my own. It took a bit because all of the options are not clear what they are for like the previous Airport Extreme and Apple does not support or guarantee that port forwarding will work for you application nor did any of the Apple support persons I spoke too have any knowledge for this feature. You also have to fill in the public if you are viewing through someone else's Wi-Fi or on your cell phone carrier network. This new Airport Extreme is a bit different since you cannot use the Airport utility on a PC like the older model and if anyone else is reading this they should be aware that if you do not have an Apple computer, iPhone or iPad and I'm not sure if some of the other network enabled devices like iPod Touch that you must use that can do it, there is no Airport utility for the PC and you would be wasting your money or have to take it back and get another brand wireless router to use if you do not own any of the above mentioned Apple products.

  • Help setting up port forwarding for Ekiga

    Hi
I am trying to set up Ekiga on my Arch X86_64 box but I can't get port forwarding to work on the Thomson TG585v7 wireless router, which I am sharing with a neighbor.  I have tried some how-to's I found via Google and set up Application/Game Sharing for the ports Ekiga uses.  I also set up static IP connection as it seems to be needed by the router for port forwarding to work but Ekiga still reports that it cannot set up my network connection and asks me to set up port forwading manually, which I have already done.
I would very much appreciate any help to get Ekiga going for me.
    My thanks in advance.

graysky wrote:No idea for you specific hardware but should be pretty trivial.  http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Enable_ … g_manually
Thanks, but the problem is that setting up the router doesn't seem to work. I checked and repeated the set up a few times but no result. I feel I am missing a little detail somewhere but can't put my finger on it :-(

You can't avoid buying a router. Every home or business network should be behind a NAT router of some type.

  • Need help w/ setting up ports to run a server for America's Army

Need help w/ setting up ports to run a server for America's Army. I read wat u need to change the ports but i dont understand wat to put. here is wat the site says
Q: How do I run my own server?
A: Quick and dirty server info:
    1. Edit RunServer.bat to change the map.
    2. Run RunServer.bat
    Or:
    server.exe LAN MAPNAME.aao (Host a LAN game)
    server.exe global MAPNAME.aao (Host a Public game)
Also: When you create a server setup and want to allow other users to join your server, you need make sure the following ports are open for outgoing and incoming traffic in your firewall: 1716 (UDP), 1717 (UDP), 20025-20045 (TCP), and 20047 (TCP). Failure to open these ports will prevent the server from accepting connections from other players or prevent other players from being able to see your server online.
There are several settings that also need to be defined in your server configuration INI file (in the Windows version, these files are located in “My Documents\America’s Army Server Settings\{settings file name}.ini”).
    [Engine.GameEngine]
    ServerActors=Andromeda.AndromedaMBS
    [Andromeda.Andromeda]
    GameServerIp=
Make sure that you set the actual IP address of the America’s Army Server under GameServerIp= (for example, “GameServerIp=000.000.000.000”). The supplied address must be your actual internet IP address, if this is left blank or you supply the IP address for your internal network (such as 192.168.0.x), your server will not be able to accept connections from the internet.
If your server.ini file contains the setting shown below, please change the QueryPort setting to 20025. This setting can also be removed, as the default setting is port 20025.
    [Andromeda.AndromedaMBS]
    QueryPort=20025
    Punkbuster user fix correction.
If [Engine.GameEngine] block has been changed to read as below:
    [Engine.GameEngine]
    ServerActors=IPDrv.AndromedaMBS
Please add the following block to your INI file:
    [IpDrv.AndromedaMBS]
    QueryPort=20025

Your images are not stored in the catalog. They are stored in folders on your computer. If you imported images that were already on your computer using the "Add" Option they are still in that same folder. If you imported images from your camera then they are in the folders that you specified when you imported. The catalog points to those images wherever they are located, and records all of the adjustments that you make to the image. When you send an image to Photoshop for further editing and save that image in Photoshop, it is normally saved back in the same folder as the original image.
Images are not "saved" in Lightroom. The basic default workflow in Lightroom is to store all of the adjustments in the catalog, leaving the original image completely unmodified. The catalog becomes the central controlling mechanism. It is a database that contains pointers to where the images are located and a record of all adjustments made to those images using Lightroom. Properly managed, you only have those original master files and secondary files for the ones that you have sent to Photoshop for further adjustment. When you want to provide a copy for someone else, you use the export dialogue for that purpose. I often export JPEG images to share with others or to post on the web. After I have usedthe JPEG for its intended purpose I delete it.

  • Is it possible to set a port number for a server as a value from env ?

    Hello,
I'm using the version 6.1 - sp8 and I'd like to set the port number of a server as a value returned by an environment variable. Will this be achievable somehow through the admin console?
In fact, I have an environment variable called '$WEB_SERV_PORT'. I'd need this value to be assigned as the port number for a server. The reason why I am trying to do this is coz I have multiple instances running as different batch accounts and each batch account would be having its own '$WEB_SERV_PORT' which would be the port on which iplanet would be running for that batch account.
I'd appreciate if anyone could help.
    Thank you,
    Presley.

    Hello Sriram,
Thanks for the info that you have provided. I do agree that what you said would be a better approach.
However I've got a couple of questions on the approach that you have suggested (Sorry that its a bit off from the main topic). Just wanted to clarify if what I thought is in sync with the approach that you suggested.
    1. As you said, I could setup multiple virtual server within an instance (https-<hostname>) - Does this mean that I am creating "Virtual Server Classes" for each server and through the web-applications tab, assigning the corresponding war file to each Virtual Server Class?
    2. Another approach that came upto my mind is that I could create different instances like (https-virtual server1, https-virtual server2, https-virtual server3 etc..). I am assuming that if I follow this approach, I could have each server allocate memory indiviually to the virtual servers. for eg, I could allocate
1024 MB to each virtual server where as in the first approach, I would have to make the 1024 MB to share between all the Virtual Server Classes. And also, in the case theres an issue with one server, I could handle the start/ stop etc individually, where as in the 1st approach, all the virtual classes would be affected by the start/stop. Am I assuming it correctly ?
I'd appreciate if you could let me know.
    Thank you,
    Presley.

Mmm, generally you don't need to do much port mapping in an extreme. Not sure I understand you.  What does the d-link do?

Hello,  I wanted to request the option to manually set the port when accessing the nas remotely from the Android Link app.  My provider blocks standard ports like 80 and 443 from incoming so usually just forward a non-standard port from my router to any internal servers.   Asus Routers have a similar app to access data but they allow you to set different ports when accessing services internally vs remotely.  Hoping we could get the same options for the Link app.

I would forward the ports from my router. ie.  Router forwards8080 -> nasip:804443 -> nasip:443  So instead of having the Link app try to connect to remoteip:80 / remoteip:443 it would connect to remoteip:custom port I hope that makes more sense.
