  • How can we set the profile options to increase OPP response Time

    Hi All,
    While running the concurrent program to merge the data template and rtf template we got the following message in the log file.
    Executing request completion options... ------------- 1) PUBLISH ------------- Beginning post-processing of request 9079946 on node G2C-IDEV-02 at 21-SEP-2007 02:04:49. Post-processing of request 9079946 failed at 21-SEP-2007 02:19:53 with the error message: The Output Post-processor is running but has not picked up this request. No further attempts will be made to post-process this request, and the request will be marked with Warning status. Setting the profile option Concurrent: OPP Response Timeout to a higher value may be necessary. --------------------------------------
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
    There are 2 new profiles options that can be used to control the timeouts. Depending on the error message, one of the following solutions needs to be implemented.
    Profile Option : Concurrent:OPP Response Timeout
    Internal Name : CONC_PP_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT
    Description : Specifies the amount of time a manager waits for OPP to respond to its request for post processing.
    Profile Option : Concurrent:OPP Process Timeout
    Internal Name : CONC_PP_PROCESS_TIMEOUT
    Description : Specifies the amount of time the manager waits for the OPP to actually process the request.
    Note: The profile options are available as of $FND_TOP/patch/115/sql/AFCPOPRB.pls 115.3 and are included in Patch 4125550 11.5.10 CU2 for ATG Product family.
    Solution A
    Option 1: Increase the value (in seconds) for the profile option 'Concurrent:OPP Response Timeout'.
    Option 2: Increase the number of processes or threads (or both) of the OPP via Oracle Applications Manager (see Note 291792.1 for the detailed instructions)
    Solution B
    Increase the value (in seconds) for the profile option 'Concurrent:OPP Process Timeout'.
    Workaround
    The timeouts can also be altered directly in the package AFCPOPRB.pls :
    -- Default timeout values for waiting on a response to a request (seconds)
    TIMEOUT1 constant number := 120;
    TIMEOUT2 constant number := 300;
    TIMEOUT1 and TIMEOUT2 corresponds to respectively OPP Response Timeout (solution A) and OPP Process Timeout (solution B).
    Cheers
    Ranjit.

    We typically set this to profile to NO in production instances, unless troubleshooting an issue - it is then set at an appropriate level (USER or RESP etc) temporarily.
    We have not found any performance issue when setting this in non-production instances.

  • Profile option update at responsibility level from backend

    Hi,
    I referred few online and oracle support document to update the profile option from backend. I was able to change the profile option at site level, but when I am trying to update the profile at responsibility ( or any level such as user etc), I am unable to do so. Though the script says that profile option has been updated, it doesn't show up when I check on frontend.
    EBS 11.5.10.2
    DB 11.2.0.1
    The script which I use to change profile at site level is this:-
    DECLARE
    stat boolean;
    BEGIN
    dbms_output.disable;
    dbms_output.enable(100000);
    stat := FND_PROFILE.SAVE('SITENAME', 'ABDVLP', 'SITE');
    IF stat THEN
    dbms_output.put_line( 'Stat = TRUE - profile updated' );
    ELSE
    dbms_output.put_line( 'Stat = FALSE - profile NOT updated' );
    END IF;
    commit;
    END;
    I tweaked the above script to include the responsibility level change, but its not changing. Both the below scripts are not making any changes.
    SCRIPT - 1
    DECLARE

    "Has anyone set up the value of profile option IBE:Recalculate Price in OM to null? Currently we have it set at yes so every time an order gets into OM from iStore it should recalculae price in OM. We are afraid that setting it to NULL might cause some pricing issue. We are on 11.5.10."
    This will indeed cause some pricing issues. It might be that a incorrect price is calculated in the iStore (or an old price is still in a saved cart). If you set the profile option to null you might run into those error's. My opinion is that you have to have it set to yes to be sure.

  • Fetch Profile Option Values

    Hi,
    We have a requirement in which we want to fetch the output of a query for specific inventory org set in profile option from fornt end.
    Please let me know if there is any specific API which will help me fetch the value of the Inventory Org Profile Option(MFG_ORGANIZATION_UNIT) for the report query.
    I was trying with FND_PROFILE.VALUE('MFG_ORGANIZATION_ID') but it doesnt seem to be working.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Ramendra.

    We are calling the report as a discoverer report and the workbook is attached to a custom function.
    So basically we want to use the value fetched from the profile option in the SQL query of the disocverer report.
    Unfortunately i made a simple program and tried tot it didnt work fetch the value but it doesnt work.
    CREATE OR REPLACE
    procedure rr_test(errbuf OUT VARCHAR2,retcode OUT VARCHAR2) IS
    v_organization_id VARCHAR2(100);
    --v_org_id number;
    begin
    v_organization_id := fnd_profile.value('MFG_ORGANIZATION_ID');
    --v_org_id := fnd_global.org_id;
    /*select organization_id into v_organization_id PO: MFG Organization ID
    from hr_organization_units where
    organization_id = fnd_profile.value('MFG_ORGANIZATION_ID');*/
    fnd_file.put_line(fnd_file.log,'PROFILE VALUE IS :'||v_organization_id);
    End;
    When i registered it as a concurrent program.Set the change organization and run the program it doesnt show any value for the value of the profile option.
    The output is like this:
    RR_TEST module: RR Test
    Current system time is 23-FEB-2009 20:17:51
    **Starts**23-FEB-2009 20:17:52
    **Ends**23-FEB-2009 20:17:52
    Start of log messages from FND_FILE
    PROFILE VALUE IS :
    End of log messages from FND_FILE
    Executing request completion options...
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Ramendra.

  • Setting profile option values using Java Concurrent Program

    Hi,
    I have a java concurrent program in which i am trying to update a profile option which is enabled only at site level, but the values are not getting committed once the CP completes.
    1. I am using CpContext.getProfileStore().SetProfile(<name>,<value>) to set the value.
    2. I am printing CpContext.getProfileStore().getProfile(<name>) in the same run and this works.
    3. BUt once the CP completes, the values are gone. Seems we have to issue a commit.
    3. So i used CpContext.getJDBCConnection().commit; Even this doesn't commit.
    Pls. suggest. Has anyone used these APIs to update profile options?
    Thanks,

    I am not not a java expert, but pl see if MOS Docs 305710.1 (A SAMPLE JAVA CONCURRENT PROGRAM) and 827563.1 (How To Create a Java Concurrent Program?) can help
