Setting up RV082 for TeamViewer access to LAN

I am deploying a small wireless LAN (192.168.1.xxx) at a remote site and would like to access a PC at LAN IP address 192.168.1.2 across the Internet via TeamViewer so as to monitor devices on that LAN.  The wireless LAN uses about 12 Cisco Aironet 1310 bridges in a ROOT-NONROOT (I guess this is point-to-multipoint?) configuration.
Our ISP has given us a single static WAN IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and two DNS server addresses.
My intent was to assign our static WAN IP address from the ISP to our RV082 router, plug the LAN devices (including the PC at 1.2) into the RV082, and then use Network Address Translation (NAT) to forward TeamViewer traffic to the PC at 1.2.  But the RV082's user manual says NOT to use the router's WAN IP address in the NAT table.
So I'm confused as to how to send remote TeamViewer traffic to the PC inside my LAN.  Is NAT not the way to do this?  Should I be using port forwarding instead?
I guess another way of skinning this cat would be to put a second NIC in the PC and let the second NIC have the WAN IP address so that it would be the first point of contact from outside, but that defeats some of my purposes for having the RV082 in the first place.
Thanks for any help you could provide.  I'm a networking newbie.

Hello Brent,
My understanding of Teamviewer is that you do not need to do any port forwarding. It is a client based software that will call out to the internet which opens a way for you to connect back in.
You should be able to install the software on a computer on your network and on a computer off the network. Using the account you create, you should be able to log in remotely from either computer without worrying about the RV082.

  • Setting a password for user access on AIR-SAP1602I-A-K9 running 15.2(2)JB2

    I am trying to assist a group with setting up their AIR-SAP1602I-A-K9 stand alone WAPs.  I would like to know how to set a password for clients to access the wireless network through these units.  I have been spoiled with our controller based WLAN.

    If you are doing it from the CLI
    dot11 ssid Test
    authentication open
    authentication wpa version 2
    wpa-psk ascii 0 "your key here"
    Interface Dot111Radio 0|1
    encryption mode ciphers aes-ccm
    ssid Test
    If you call a VLAN under the SSID, then you need to call a VLAN with the encryption statement under the radio interfaces.

    How to set the system DSN for Access database using Java Code at runtime....???
    Replies are deeply appreciated...

    I found a 3rd Party MS Access JDBC Driver from a Google search. I downloaded and tried the free trial version. • Setting up permissions for shared access

    I'm at work as we have 2 macs set up
    I'm on Mac_A and my collegue is on MAC_B
    He edits the work on MAC_B and once he has finished he Saves it across to MAC_A Desktop
    This was all working fine until I did a reinstall of MAC_A. Now when he copies the data across it copies it in and leaves the no entry sign up and I have to go in and change the permissions. How can I set this up to avoid changing it everytime.
    I obviously set it up with no problems in the beginning, just can't remember.
    Many thanks
    Matt

    I've worked it out, I need to avoid all the accounts sharing.
    In System preferences enable file sharing. Then use the
    afp://172.0.1...... that is given.
    On the other computer go to Finder connect to server it will ask for a password and then the user has full access.
    When they drop it on the desktop the other user will have full control.

  • Setting Oracle Permissions for file access from a pl/sql function

    I have a pl/sql function that calls a java method which moves a
    file from a directory to another.
    Since we are using Linux, Oracle wants some permissions.
    Those permissions are set using:
    call dbms_java.grant_permission(USER, 'java.io.FilePermission',
    FILE, permission)
    OK, i want to use this in my pl/sql function, but it doesn't
    work.
    My function looks like something like this:
    -- some pl/sql code
    dbms_java.grant_permission(someUSER, 'java.io.FilePermission',
    sourceFILE, 'write');
    dbms_java.grant_permission(someUSER, 'java.io.FilePermission',
    destFILE, 'write');
    flag := move(sourceFILE, destFILE);
    -- flag is for 1 -> done and 0 -> error
    -- some more code ...
    The problem is the lines of
    dbms_java.grant_permission(someUSER, 'java.io.FilePermission',
    sourceFILE, 'write');
    do not work!
    When i grant permissions manually in sql plus it works great,
    but when i do it from the function it does not work!
    Any ideas anyone?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    The command :
    dbms_java.grant_permission
    (someUSER, 'java.io.FilePermission',sourceFILE, 'write');
    is right.
    Open sqlplus
    Connect as sys or system
    type :
    execute dbms_java.grant_permission
    (someUSER, 'java.io.FilePermission',sourceFILE, 'write');
    commit;
    try to compile again your procedure...does it work now ?

    Refer the note
        "You perform these actions from the $ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/isqlplus/application-deployments/isqlplus directory."
    in the SQL*Plus® User's Guide and Reference.
    Otherwise it will not find the iSQL*Plus DBA realm.
    You can connect using
        -user admin -password welcome
    but this will load the jazn.com realm which does not contain the webDba role.

  • Can't set IE Desktop as default program for Assigned Access

    I have searched everywhere for this answer.  Kiosk mode/assigned access is excellent.  But it appears that you can only use IE Modern (Metro) for assigned access and the problem with that is I have found no way to completely lock down IE Modern.
    I can only partially lock it down but users can still get to the address bar and settings very easily.
    I either need some advice on setting IE to complete lockdown or how to set IE desktop for Assigned  Access.

    Perhaps you can create a special application that will be selected for Assigned Access. This application will then start the desktop variant of Internet Explorer (or an intermediate desktop program). There are some articles about such
    operation based on Launcher class and custom file association.

  • "Wake for network access" doesn't seem to work

    I have several Yosemite Macs.  My main Mac Energy Saver setting is set to wake for network access.  That's the only box checked (Display set to turn off after an hour).
    I can't seem to get access to this computer on my network (get a "connection failed") after the display turns off.
    Any other settings I need to set to cure this?

    Please follow Linc Davis's advice to see if you have a Sleep Proxy server on your home network.  For example, here is what the command shows on my home network:
    dns-sd -B _sleep-proxy._udp local
    Browsing for _sleep-proxy._udp.local
    DATE: ---Sun 12 Apr 2015---
    16:34:14.530  ...STARTING...

    16:34:14.531  Add        3   5 local.        _sleep-proxy._udp.   30-35-10-70.1 Pantry
    16:34:14.531  Add        2   5 local.        _sleep-proxy._udp.   50-35-10-70.1 TV_Console
    I have 2 Sleep Proxy servers active on my network (both are Apple Airport Extreme home WiFi Router base stations; the names Pantry and TV_Console are the management names I have given them).
    If you DO NOT have a Sleep Proxy server, then you MUST use a special program to wake up a sleeping Mac.  WakeOnLan is one such program.
    <http://www.readpixel.com/wakeonlan/index.html>
    The Sleep Proxy or WakeOnLan will send a specially composed network packet that the networking hardware listens for and will wake up the Mac when it is seen.
    The Sleep Proxy server pretends to be your Mac while it is asleep, and if you attempt to connect to the Advertised service, the Sleep Proxy server will send that magic network packet to wake up the Mac, and forward the connection request to the new awake Mac.

  • RV082 - Vlans for guest access

    Hello,
    I have an RV082 router which supports port based VLANs.  I have a WAP that I want to use to provide guest internet access which cannot see our production vlan.  I plugged the WAP into port 8 and set the vlan for port 8 to vlan 2.  Here's the part where I'm confused.  I am unable to get an IP address when connecting to the WAP because our DHCP server is a windows box on vlan 1.  So, I tried using the DHCP relay option and entering the ip address of the windows box DHCP server.  I am still not able to retrieve an IP address when connecting to the WAP.  Someone mentioned setting up an ip helper address.  I connected to the CLI of the RV082 but could not figure out the syntax of how to set up the ip helper address.  Any help with any of this would be much appreciated.  I only have about a week to set this up so I have to figure something out.

    Mr. MacKay,
    Since the RV082 don't support vlan tagging, you could get a layer 3 switch and create the vlans there and setup a dhcp relay to a server for the vlan ip addresses.
    Then it would be just setting up static routes in the switch pointing to the router as the default gateway and finally doing routes back from the rv082 for the vlan you created.
    A quick solution would be get a wireless router and set it up by plugging the wan into your network and setting the lan on a totally different ip address scheme.  Then only allow access to the rv082 on that network and deny the rest of the network access to the guest and vice versa.
    Kind of a work around.
    The quickest fix would be getting a vlan aware router like rvs4000 or the wireless version wrvs4400n and if you need dual wan with vlans and wireless you could go with the sa520w.

  • LAN side firewall settings for Direct Access (Windows Server 2012 R2) in DMZ?

    I am currently planning to set up our first Direct Access server (Windows Server 2012 R2). I will be in our firewall DMZ and we will be using the IP-HTTPS listener.
    For the Internet facing rule only TCP 443 inbound/outbound is sufficient but for the LAN facing rules (not talking about the Windows server firewall) what would be the recommended firewall rules for a Direct Access server? Is there a best practice guideline
    to follow for this? Appreciate any advice or comments. Thank you.

    Hi Barkley
    Please see this Technet Link which will backup your requirements - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/jj574101.aspx
    Section Reads -
    When using additional firewalls, apply the following internal network firewall exceptions for Remote Access traffic:
    ISATAP—Protocol 41 inbound and outbound
    TCP/UDP for all IPv4/IPv6 traffic
    Also another link from http://www.ironnetworks.com/blog/directaccess-network-deployment-scenarios#.VO3tfvmsVrU
    "I have had a number of conversations with security administrators and network architects who have expressed a desire to place the DirectAccess server between two firewalls (firewall sandwich) in order to explicitly control access from the DirectAccess
    server to the internal corporate network. While at first this may sound like a sensible solution, it is often quite problematic and, in my opinion, does little to improve the overall security of the solution. Restricting network access from the DirectAccess
    server to the internal LAN requires so many ports to be opened on the inside firewall that the benefit of having the firewall is greatly diminished. Placing the DirectAccess server’s internal network interface on the LAN unrestricted is the best configuration
    in terms of supportability and provides the best user experience."
    Kindest Regards
    John Davies
    Thank for your reply and information John. I find it somewhat disappointing that Microsoft does not provide much more in the way of documentation and information regarding this topic. I required more information to show to our security team so they will allow
    us to have the internal facing NIC not have more restrictive rules in place as it is a security concern.

    Close ... before going for a specific Cisco app ... lets find out some details:
    Host we need more details:
    What is your server environment (Windows Server, or Mac OS X Server, or Linux)?
    What security is implemented in your environment - as what is restricted (RDP for all or specifc credentials on all machines? Are you part of local admin group to the server you wish to connect)?
    Does your environment Support CISCO IPSec connection? If so use Settings> VPN and IPSec tab to enter VPN details, if not then go with above suggestion. IF your restricted to RSA then either built in VPN settings or 3rd party app for RSA would suffice.
    Finally, there are many RDP applications out there I use "Mocha RDP Light" (free minimal ads when launched not when connecting).

  • Help setting up Lion Server for remote access

    I have been going in cricles for weeks trying to set this up correctly.  Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    I got Lion Server and Server Admin Tools all updated and have been trying to follow Terry Walsh from We Got Served's guide but I missing something.
    I purchased a domain from GoDaddy. Let's call it bradnet.com
    My domain and dyn domain are not really what I have typed here but close enought that they should work for my example and trouble shooting.
    Because my ISP (Comcast) doesn't provide a static IP I registerd for an account with dyn.com.  This is where I get really confused.  With dyn.com i created a host name: bradnet.dyndns-rocks.com and downloaded there updater software.  It found my public IP address and said everything is ok.
    I went back to GoDaddy and in my DNS manger page added the host: bradnet.dyndns-rocks.com and entered my public IP.
    I then went to the server pane to edit the host name.  I followed your instructions to edit the name and selected Host Name for Internet.  I left the computer name as mini (what I had previously named it for file sharing before the server upgrade) and entered  mini.bradnet.dyndns-rocks.com as the host name.  When it takes me back to the server pane, in the bottom window it states:
    Your Server's host name is mini.bradnet.dyndns-rocks.com, and its IP address is 192.168.1.10. You can change network settings in the Server pane.
    I never get the your network is configured properly message.
    I went and set my computer's IP to DHCP with manual address (although all of my machines are set up with DHCP reservations so I guess that is a little redundant) to 192.168.1.10.
    I skipped the port forwarding step because I am using the latest AirPort Extreme as my router.
    I then opened a browser and tried:
    http://bradnet.com
    http://mini.bradnet.dyndns-rocks.com
    http://mini.bradnet.com
    http://bradnet.dyndns-rocks.com
    All of these got me the can't find the server response from Safari.
    Also, I have not yet set up Directory Services.  Terry's guide seems to suggest to do this step first.
    I'm sure I have messed up some step somewhere can you see what I have done wrong?
    Also, is it a problem to set up open directory services using a .local host and then go back and change it for internet access later or do you need to set that up from the start?  My family is getting impatient with me trying to get this to work.
    Thanks for any help anyone can offer!
    Brad

    That manual page is not fully correct. There is written:
    Public UDP Port(s): <enter the appropriate UDP port value(s)>
    Public TCP Port(s): <enter the appropriate TCP port value(s)>
    Private IP Address: <enter the reserved IP address of the host device (from step 1)>
    Private UDP Port(s): <enter the same Public UDP Ports or your choice>
    Private TCP Port(s): <enter the same Public TCP Ports or your choice>
    But it should be:
    Public UDP Port(s): <enter unique UDP Ports of your choice>
    Public TCP Port(s): <enter unique TCP Ports of your choice>
    Private IP Address: <enter the reserved IP address of the host device (from step 1)>
    Private UDP Port(s): <enter the UDP Ports used by your device>
    Private TCP Port(s): <enter the TCP Ports used by your device>
    Make sure you use the same ports in the private settings as you have defined in your IP camera. Normally a camera will use port 80 by default, so use 80 here.
    The Public ports must all be unique. If you have not defined a port 80 here, you can also use 80. This will fail however when using multiple cameras. I for instance have 5 IP cameras and use the public ports 8451, 8452, 8453 etc.
