  • HP Scanjet G3110 Light Scan on moves part of the time

    I have an HP Scanjet G3110, several times during the past few months I have had to Uninstall an reinstall my software as I was getting error codes.  This time the Light bar is only moving about 1 inch and then stopping.  If I unplug everything and wait, I can get 1 full scan and then it does it again.  I uninstalled and reinstalled on more than one computer.  I have replaced the USB to scanner cable and that did not help.  Running XP on both computers.   Error message as follows.   8, [ (0, 3,  -2147467259) }
Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Solved my own problem - went to the official HP website looking for any downloads.  Found one called "HP Scan & Print Doctor" .  Ran it and my scanner was fixed immediately.   Now to copy this off and try my other computer.  Thank you HP.

There's no pdf file type. I updated lastest driver. Please help.Thanks.

Hi,Have you installed the latest full feature HP software?Scanning from the operating system tools only provide basic scan capabilities, to get a PDF file you will need to use the HP Scan software. Double click the HP Solution enter icon and select Scan Document or open the HP Scan / HP Scanning application, it should be listed within the Start Menu > Programs > HP folder. If you are not able to locate a such, open the Control Panel and select Devices and Printers, right click the scanner and then click on Remove Device. Next unplug the USB and install the following software:http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL53035/dp-127945-2/setup_full_G3110_14-5.exe Regards,Shlomi

  • Scanning software for ScanJet G3110 not installing

I have downloaded the latest version of the recommended software directly from the HP support site.  OS is Win7 64 bit. The setup ends in few instants with no error messages but I have not desktop shortcut icons. The setup creates folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\" with just two subfolders: "Temp" and "Digital Imaging". Inside Digital Imaging folders I can't found many application files and there isn't the \bin\hpqkygrp.exe application.
On a pc with windows VISTA and default CD installer evertything works fine.
I noticed that many files missing from setup, like Common folder. The pc is in a network domain and I launched the setup as both domain user and domain administrator.
I tried many times in different days/months/updates... please help.

  • Scanjet G3110 top-deck buttons don't work on Win 7 Pro 64-bit

    Scanjet G3110
    Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit
Downloaded and installed new drivers (2014-01-15 , Version14.5). Scanner works, but the top-deck buttons don't.
No errors or warnings either during installation or while trying to use the scanner, but in the Application Event Log, I see two entries from MsiInstaller, in the order they occurred:
Product: hpg3110 -- Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Hewlett-Packard\Scanjet\DriverStore\hpgtg311.dll failed to register.  HRESULT -2147220473.  Contact your support personnel.
Product: hpg3110 -- Error 1905.Module C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Hewlett-Packard\Scanjet\DriverStore\hpgtg311.dll failed to unregister.  HRESULT -2147220472.  Contact your support personnel.
No idea if this is related or even important.

Well, I know why the buttons don't work, but I still don't know what a real fix would be.
The Windows Image Acquisition service starts at boot time as it should (its startup type is set to "Automatic")  but then stops after about 5 minutes. When it's not running, the buttons don't work.
If I start the service again, the buttons will work. It appears that once I've started the service manually, it will continue to run until the machine's shut down.

  • HP- scanjet G3110

I installed the new CD from Hewlett/Packard for the HP-scanjet G3110 (L2698-10008)  for Windows 7  OS, but do not have an icon/shortcut or anyway to get in and use the scanning program. The computer says that it's installed and functioning properly but I'm still unable to use it.

Hello herb430 Welcome to the forums!
I saw your post about how you have ran the installation CD for your Scanjet G3110 however, you do not see an icon on your desktop to use the scanner.
I would suggest trying the online download to see if that will install the scanner properly.

  • Is Scanjet G3110 supported in Windows 10?

Anyone using Scanjet G3110 on Windows 10?
    Any problems?
Can't get clear answer from HP on whether or not it is supported.
Just get scripted reply that send me to links that don't answer the question.

Welcome to the HP Community ,  I understand you are looking to find out if the Scanjet G3110 is supported on Windows 10. Although I cannot find any sort of confirmation that it is supported, the best you can do is try installing the Windows 8.1 driver, to see if that works. Click this link, click "Edit" on the right side of the page to change the OS to Windows 8.1, and download the full driver there. HP Scanjet Full Feature Software and Driver Good luck

  • MX922 scanner problem message: set the pc to start scanning

I am trying to scan using my MX922 printer.  I am getting a message: "set the pc to start scanning." Can't find what this means.

I ran into this... Suddenly the scan function from the Canon didn't work, I just got "Set the pc to start scanning."  WT??? Why work all this time and suddenly not?  Under scan>save/forward>select pc, only "local (usb)" appeared. No pc.  Yet the wireless connectivity was there (I checked, under WLAN set up).  Plus, I could print wirelessly, and could scan wirelessly if I initiated the scan from the computer via Canon utilities.  So it suddenly no longer could find the pc to scan from the unit, even though clearly the wireless connection was there.  Turned it on and off several times as suggested by another post.  Finally I went to Canon Utilities,> IJ Network Scanner Selector EX > Scan from Operation Panel Settings (button was already selected) > MX920 series already had box checked, so just said ok.  i.e. I didn't change a thing, but somehow that got it to work again, and I can now go back to scanning via the unit itself, specifically Scan button > Start on the MX922, instead of having to initiate the scan from the computer.  Hope this makes sense!

  • Unable to scan and install windows updates on Win 2008 R2 server

I've encountered some of my win 2008 servers are unable to scan and receive windows updates from SCCM 2012. Browse through the logs and found some error code related to
0x80244023. Excerpt from the WindowsUpdate and WUAHandler is as below. Searched the net and found some workaround which is to rename the registry key
WinHTTPSettings to WinHTTPSettingsx (by adding x at the end of the string)
    under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Internet Settings -> Connections.
I've did just that on the effected servers and after running again the Software Update Scan Cycle action, it is now able to scan and install the updates. My questions is, based on you guys experience, is there any repercussion (apart from enable to install
software updates) that I could encounter in changing the registry key value WinHTTPSettings?

    Hi
If SCCM is setup correctly and your boundaries are correct then once you deploy updates the agents will pick them up.
Also make sure you SUP role has the FQDN set. Lastly if you are using port 8530 make sure it is open.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • HP 6510 Scanning issue with Windows 8

    Windows 8
Using a shortcut HPFE 89CC (HP Photosmart 6510)
I can print okay wireless, but I cannot Scan ( printer & laptop not connected)
What do I need to do ?
or What & How do I need to install something that will allow me to scan please

    Hi @D1000
I think the best place to start the Doctors office (The HP Print and Scan Doctor).  The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Source:Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor> >>>>> www.hp.com/go/tools
If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you.
