Setting up sub accounts

I have a primary email address and have set up a sub account for my partner. No problems getting this set up to receive emails on my Ipad but just cannot get it to work with Outlook 2007 on my PC. No issues with the main account - just can't get the sub account added. can anyone help? I've tried doing the tolls, option, accounts and adding it in as a new account but my PC just won't accept the password :-(

Have you tried going through the Email Set-up page? It'll go through all the steps you need to follow to set the account up, it's worth giving it a go just to make sure you haven't missed any steps along the way.

Setting up Sub-Account

I've joined the BT community today, having moved over from the utter mess that is Sky.Yahoo.
With Infinity 1 I now have broadband speed of 38mb, compared to 10mb with constant dropout.
My main e-mail address has been established OK using Mail on a MAC, and has received an external e-mail.
What I am struggling with at the moment, is setting up a secondary e-mail address for my wife, using Entourage on a MAC.
What is confusing me is this:-
On my Primary account the settings are:-
Incoming server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing server - btinternet.com
on trying to set up a secondary account, the following details appear
Imap server - mail.btinternet.com
Outgoing server - smtp.02.co.uk
Is this correct, I expected that these would be the same?
What are the correct settings for setting up Entouage on a MAC
Help much appreciated

Sub-account cannot send email from Apple Mail

I've tried setting up two sub-accounts to send/receive email but no matter what I try, these accounts error out on sending email. Looks like they aren't recognized by smtp server. Is there a different setting for sub-accounts?

I fixed my problem - I deleted my email account on my iPhone, then tried to setup a new account. I had a few problems setting it up. It wouldn't recognize the incoming or outgoing servers and I lost my email altogether for a few hours. Then I changed every setting possible and finally figured out that I had 2-3 "Other SMTP Servers" as well as my "Primary Server". Once I deleted the Other SMTP Servers, my email worked and i'm able to send emails now!
I also think changing the "Server Port" number helped solve my problem also, and making sure "Use SSL" was turned off.

Why can't Primary and Sub accounts be accessed on the same page?

I have a Primary email account and also a sub account. I normally use Windows Mail to access my email. In Windows Mail, I can read emails sent to either account, and can also send from either account.
The only time I go to the Webmail page is when I am traveling and can't access my home computer. In Verizon Webmail, I can only check the account I log in with. It's very annoying and time consuming to log in, check one account, sign out, and then log in to check the other account. By the way I use the same password for both accounts. Is there anyway that this can be changed? It should at least give us the option to add a sub account on the same page as the primary account.

If you are wanting the messages to come to the same account, an alias would serve you better than a sub account.
If you really want all of the mail to be in one inbox, set your sub account up in the primary account to be accessed via pop3, or set forwarding on the sub to the primary. That would cause all of your mail to be accessible via the priamry login, but you would still have to log in with the sub to send from that address.

Creation of new sub-accounts

I am attempting to create a new sub-account for my daughter, but the "Manage Sub-Account" button does nothing.
Does anyone know how to create a new sub-account or how to get this working?

BTYahoo Sub accounts & Thunderbird

I am new to BTYahoo last week but have been happily using Thunderbird for emails for many years. I have set up sub accounts within BTyahoo and in my BT account in Thunderbird. After a lot of messing about I am able to send emails from these sub accounts in Thunderbird but am unable to receive emails into them. They appear on the BTyahoo webmail pages but NOT in my Thunderbird inbox. Emails addressed to the main account do appear in Thunderbird. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

As it happens, there is no specific need to verify the btinternet sub accounts - especially as you've said that you've set up the individual outgoing server. Typically TB wants to use the "default" server which can mean getting the 553 error message for verification, hence it's best to use individual smtp settings as you have done so.
There is nothing in webmail to allow the default emails through via the inbox - there is options to send *all* emails including those treated as spam. If you have made any webmail folders and move the emails into them, then these will not download into TB or any mail client.
I assume that you need to visit the webmail system for each email address (usually meaning logout and re-login as a new email account), rather than have some "strange" rules setup.
You've not mentioned whether you're receiving any error messages when attempting to get emails from the specific "faulty" email accounts.
Again - check each email account and choose "Server Settings" and see what you've got in "User Name" for each account - they should all be different of course.

when i activated the account i ticked the upgrade button, should i have ticked the new account button?
anyway, when i do what you say (below) there is not a manage "Accounts button" so i went to reactive it again ( for a new account) and is says that the activation key is all ready in use.
Denis, go to www.mac.com and sign into your account. Click on the word "Account" at the top of the left hand column. You will need to sign in again for security purposes. Once your account settings show up, click on the "Manage Accounts" button and you can take care of everything.

How do I set up a sub account in icloud? We need three separate email addresses in this house but only have one Apple ID. Since the apple ID is an email address, I'm sort of in a catch 22. I can't set up individual icloud accounts because I don't have other apple ID's. I can't get other apple ID's because you have to use one to get an icloud account... Very confusing. Our main email address transfered seamlessly to icloud and we love it but we want to ditch our Advertisement ridden verizon email and have a separate email for my husbands business contacts and my business contacts. Everyone says we can just sign up for other icloud accounts but... well... the whole catch 22 thing. Someone please help, I feel like I'm chasing my tail here.

You cannot set up subaccounts, as you couldwith the family pack for MobileMe. I'm not sure why you can't create separate Apple IDs and hence iCloud accounts, it isn't good practice to share and iCloud account between different people. All you need to do, is each create your own iCloud account, choosing your old email address when you do so.

There is no such thing as a "sub-account." Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account." Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases. iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account). You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying. You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend. Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library. Is that on a different computer? How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod. What is your "old iTunes"? Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend?

Trying to set up email account for sub account

I have been trying to set up an email account for a sub account through verizon message center all day with no luck. It won't let me past the first screen. Any ideas?

Are you getting some kind of error? This is a peer-to-peer support board, so the more information you give us to work with, the better. (Not personal information like username or password, though.)
