I just updated my phone to the ios 7 and now the phone wont get through t the activating step. what do i do?

Go on and follow the instructions on screen and set up the iphone. When through, turn power off, wait for about a minute and then power back on. You should have a signal then. I am with AT&T also and this is what I was told to do. It worked for me.

If you don't have a SIM card in the phone, you must put one in. It's required for activation.
If you do, then your phone was probably hacked to unlock it from the original carrier. Contact them and see if they will unlock it. If they will not do so, then you can't use that phone.

The reason I don't want to set it off is because I want to let others send me iMessage - most people prefer that according to their plan.
How do I bring this request to the hands of the people doing the ios updates? Maybe they could work on this for the future...

If you want to restore to an iCloud backup, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.

If your carrier offers tethering, you will see it in Settings -> General -> Network. If your carrier doesn't offer it, you won't.

I have an iphone 4 and iphone 5 and i set up the iphone 5 using the icloud backup from the iphone 4 and i forgot to disconnect the icloud before i deleted the contacts on the iphone 4 which then deleted them from the iphone 5 is there anyway of restoring

I have an iphone 4 and iphone 5 and i have set up the 5 with a backup from the icloud. But i didn't disconnect the old phone (iphone 4) form the icloud and deleted some contacts which also deleted them from the 5. I have restored them from a previous back up but after i did that i deleted the iphone 4 from the icloud which also deleted the conatcts from the 5 again as i didnt back up. Is there anyway of restoring the conatcts now?

If you still have the same back up you can restore from back up again. Unfortunately you will have to do something fast and unusual in the process of restore. As soon as you have access to your phone - you need to go to settings - icloud and turn off your contacts sync. You need to do that fast enough so your icloud will not have time to sync "0" contacts back to the phone. That way when your restore is completed you get your contacts. You will have less then 1 minute to complete what I told you. If the contacts are gone anyway, either you were not fast enough, or your back up was overwritten already.

I saw a pop up announcement, maybe when I upgraded. It says Auto Music ID Setting. Turn this feature on in the Music ID options under Profile>Settings. I have the Cloud but cannot find this advertised option. Any ideas please? Thank you so much!

I'm having same problem too. Has happened 3-4 times now. Can't figure out what causes the time to change to random time. At one point I thought it was caused by my leaving my calendar at a previous date or appointment, but really don't think so. I have a Verizon - iphone 5. I would think that the time would come from Verizon. Not Apple. But no one else is talking about it. Not funny when we all depend on our calendars and appointments that are set on each day. Other times, I just reset it and will wait for someone to fix the problem. I love the iphone 5 though! Nice and light (I'm a runner). It replaced a 4. Loved that one too, but new iOS6 is WAY FASTER! Love it to pieces!

Why has an age rating of 17+ been set for the iPhone App

I tried to install the Firefox Home App on the iPod Touch devices (12+) of my son but due to the age rating of 17+ it wasn't possible. After changing the age rating on the device I was able to install it directly to the devices but not via the iTunes progam on my PC?!

I believe this is because of the restrictions Apple imposes on IOS developers. Any application that has a built-in web browser (like the Firefox Home app) must be rated 17+. This makes little sense because Safari does not have any warnings and it is also a web browser that can access the same exact websites that Firefox Home can. Opera Mini is also rated 17+ because of the web browser. This is insane.

When I recieve a text message, part of the message appears on the main screen, and stays there. Is this just a settings or some way to stop that?

I found the "Invert Colors" option under Settings > General > Accessibility, and like it a lot. It provides enhanced readability.
The problem is that it inverts all colors, even for apps. So when I view a web page in Safari, all the colors are inverted for the images.
And when I view my photos in Photos, these are also inverted as well.
Is there a way to set up the iPhone to default to a black screen and white letters for the OS, but allow the apps and photos, etc. to
be viewed in their regular colors. For example, can I run Photos to view my photos on a black background but view the photos in their
normal coloring?

I'm afraid that is not possible, maybe this could bee a step in that direction if you use the mentioned Zoom function:

Is it possible to set a default media player for the iPhone?

I have a music subscription with another company, therefore all my music is played through their app. When I plug my phone into my car to play music, it always opens iTunes and alerts me there is no music there so I have to open the app and select the music. Which is fine, but when the app stops (for whatever reason), the iTunes (which I'm not sure why they don't call iMusic or something equally silly) tries to play any music I have in iTunes. Is there any way to stop this madness? Thanks!

There is no setting in the iPhone to set another default music player. The default is Music. If you are using another application, you are at the mercy of how that application operates as far as what occurs when it stops or errors out. The car is looking for music to play.

What setting prevents a deleted app from re-downloading from iCloud to the iPhone?

What setting do I select that prevents an app that's been deleted from the iPhone from re-loading back from iCloud after a Sync? I don't want to permanently delete the App from iCloud, as I want the option to load it back at a later date. I can't find the Setting that does this. Is it a setting on the iPhone or in iTunes on the Mac?
I know this can be done, as my iPad is operating this way. But my wife's iPhone isn't. I can't remember what setting I used to get it to do this.

I just tried it. I deleted an app from the phone. When I connected to iTunes instead of a Sync button there were 2 buttons, Revert and Apply. And the app I deleted had an Install button. Perhaps if you don't click Apply the app will be reinstalled.
