Setting Up The Way Tags Appear in the File Name
My original filename: Guns N Roses - Live and Let Die.mp3
After dragging this (and hundreds more) into iTunes,
the file name now appears as: 10 Live and Let Die.mp3
I have since unchecked the 'Keep iTunes Media folder organized', which I now know is the reason my files names have changed, BUT - it's too late for all those songs I added, since iTunes sucked them right in without leaving me my originals.
How can I get my original copies back to their original file names? I prefer the artist's name first, rather than the track number. Some 'automatic' way...not renaming them manually one by one, which would take all year long.

Report Painter - Ordering the way variables appear on the input screen
On the user input screen for a report, the variables for things such as Year, Period, Company Code, Profit Center......they do not always show up on the user input screen in the order that they are placed in the report. Is there a way to change the order in which they appear ? For example, if the default order on the user input screen is :

Changing the way downloads appear in the fan?
I have so many files in my downloads folder that when I click on it, it arches off screen and I am unable to see the entire list of items. Is there a way to make the list go straight up, instead of bending to the right?

I once created an account and changed meanwhile my Apple ID. Now, when trying to log in to iCloud, I get the message: "You are already logged in". I cannot get access to the account in the way, that, for example, the options appear on the right hand side.

When trying to log in with the old ID, I get no access, i.e. it says "Try again"...-Trying the same with the new one gives me the result I mentioned in my first question...
Now I found out how to do it: I had to erase all accounts-then I could sign in with my Apple-ID. Thanks again. -
I can't find a way to view and edit the text which appears on the spine of the dustcover or the photo book itself. When I preview the book it appears on the dustcover and the book, but not when I'm back in the creation or editing windows. I've printed 4 books in a series and two spines are one font size, and two others are a different font size. One of the books has a shortened title on the book spine.
The text on the spine will be the same text that is in the Title text box on the title page. You can change the font and style of that text just like you change any text in Aperture. Aperture will size and center the spine text for you
If you want the content or the font and style of the text to be different from your Title box text then you have to trick the program a bit. Put the text that you want in the spine into the Title text box and then move that box to a place on the page where it will not be visible when printed ( Y coordinate -1.0 inches for example). Don't move it too far away or it will be hard to get back to in order to make an edit. Then make a new text box on the title page and put the text you want on the cover in that. (Or make a book without text on the cover , but with text on the spine).
You are 100% correct in that you can not preview this unless you preview the printed book -
I recently bought a WD My Book Live to backup using Time Machine, now that I've upgraded to and my old NAS won't support Mountain Lion. The WD drive appears in the Finder, but it doesn't appear as an option when setting up the backup disc in Time Machine. Any ideas please?

When i upgraded from LION to MOUNTAIN LION it made NO difference at all to my MyBook Live !!!
reading the original post again and again, do you in fact have two My Book Live units, an old one and a new one ?

When updating my spreadsheets (iWork '08) the umbrella icon appears in the dock, and the software backs up what I've entered. I don't recall setting this up.
Anyone know what's going on?Thanks, but I do know what the software is for as I occasionally use it to back up stuff onto my iDisk, but I don't understand why I'm getting backups of stuff like spreadsheets when I haven't set the system up for it.
The only back up I do have set up is for my iPhoto album to back up to my Lacie external hard drive...that's all. -

Thiagu.mWeird. I have multuple monitors and the boot stuff always appears on my main monitor.
See if smc and pram reset clears the problem.
I have multiple screens on my Mac Pro. A normal screen, a projector and a USB-to-DVI converter.
What video card are you using? And USB-to-DVI is not the usual way for connecting monitors. I wonder if that is confusing things. So out of curiousity what happens if that monitor is not connected? -
The html5 tags nav in the broilerplate.css file - fluid grid
Ok. I am working with the fluid grid system in DW CS6.

why did adobe set the nav id to display as a block element.
this is causing me issues with using the above tags.
My navigation bars name is nav. I attempted to create another css rule with the display set to INLINE for my menu.
The boiler plate code is overwriting my rule. Why? What is the best way to label my divs. I was tring to go HTML 5 but fluid grid already has some rules in place. Can i modify that without problems? what is the best thing to do. Not label my divs with the HTML5 labels?

My old website that I am rebuilding used framed pages and front page to build it. I am making my layout so that IF i find that the fixed nav box is too Dicey I will just pull it off the site.
I am not suse which browser dreamweaver has built in. I moved into a new windows 8 computer with CS6 at the same time. I have not downloaded any browsers yet. I was just building this based on the newest stuff released. I am far from testing it out and should have gotten some done by now. AS of right now I have 140 hours in building my new layout and learning CSS coding. I have not uploaded yet to a URL so I will need to get back to you when I do. The little bugs keep setting me back to zero. The layout looked like it all snapped to the grid. My layout divs were 12 column with 4 divs approx 200 px 400px 300px and 300px everything snapped to and looked fine. When I started adding my PS images and content to my divs the 4th div fell back down a row in the view. I then click the arrow to move it down a row which it did then I tried to move it back up. It would not go. I have boxes with borders, radius corners, and dropped shadows on the containing box. I looked at it and starting thinking the CSS styles made it wider than the fluid grid would allow. So i then removed the styles and it is still stuck a row below where it should be.
Futher down my page I have 4 more rows with 4 divs in each row. The last 4 all drop down so that it is totaly different than what I a laid out. It is weird because my div is three colums wide. I have the last three colums open on the lay out but it will not move up and it seems like the margins are tight or the gutter is wrong. I am not sure. -
I use iPhoto and want to know how to get the 'key photo' i select on my McBook Pro to be the same one that gets used on my iPhone 5s when i sync. i also want the events to appear on the iPhone in the same order i have them on my macbook. any ideas there too?

Get the correct settings for your account from Yahoo and set it up manually.
By the way, I also find the "password" issue problematical. It seems Apple want my Apple password rather than my eMail password. All very confusing.

When my iPhone 4S (with ios7) experiences a failed call while connected to my Bluetooth hands free in my car(screen locked) the failed call appears on the locked screen, as it should, the problem arises whenever I unlock the phone, it automatically redials the last failed call, it doesn't do this with missed calls that are on the locked screen, if any. It is really annoying as sometimes the phone doesn't respond to attempts to end the call before it connects to the number. I then have to explain that it was my phone and not me, I look like an idiot, which I don't really need any extra help with!! Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to stop missed call from showing in the locked screen but it might be associated with the failed calls and therefore be the only resolution
I have had the same issue which was driving me mad but think I have just found a way around it. In iOS 7 if you swipe up on the lock screen to access quick settings and go into timer then click the home button you get into the phone without calling the person back. Not a great 'fix' but hope it works for you. Come on Apple this isn't good enough, fix this bug otherwise you will lose your customers.

I have a large number of tracks which I should like to convert from one format to another (aiff to Apple lossless). These tracks are distributed in a large number of playlists. Can I convert a track or tracks from one format to another so that the converted track appears in the playlist of the original track without going through a laborious and error-prone process of converting each track individually, determining the playlist of the original, and allocating the converted version to the playlist (or playlists, because in many cases the original track exists in more than one playlist) of the original track.
I do not believe iTunes will do this. The files created are essentially new media files, not regarded as replacements for old files. There may be ways to trick iTunes if you are good at editing library files but that would be more trouble than it is worth.

I've tried using a powered and non-powered USB hub without success. Plugging the hd directly into the airport didn't work either. The hd functions fine when plugged into a USB port on 3 other computers so it doesn't appear to be a hd issue. I've reset the airport with and without the hd attached but no success in getting the hd to appear in the airport utility. I followed all of the instructions in Apple's Airport support section but no luck.
All my pc's are running on XP Pro (service pack3). The airport extreame is working flawlessly except for this one particular issue which, unfortunately, was one of the main reasons I purchased it. I've looked through numerous discussions already in the community and tried some suggestions such as attempting to map the drive using the airport's IP address but still no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions or can tell me what I'm missing in the set-up process?When trying to troubleshoot my problem I discovered a forum that was saying certain NTFS drives work just fine
Apple support says that an NTFS or exFAT drive cannot be used when connected to the AirPort Extreme.
I suppose it is possible that someone might have been using some type of special software on the drive that might perform a "conversion", but without more details, it is hard to know.
Note: ExFAT and NTFS formats aren't supported.

When I try to open a document from my file on Mac OS X the following message appears, with the Bluetooth logo: 'SELECT A BLUETOOTH DEVICE ....Select a device to send file ...' I then have to go to the source of the document, (e.g. Pages), to open the file. Please could someone help?
The Get Info dialog should look something like this:
The "Change All" button should be at the bottom of the "Open With" section. This is how it appears in Snow Leopard. Other OSX versions many be slightly different.
If something is changing the setting back to something else you may have a deeper problem than I am able to help you with. What is appearing in the Open with area before you correct it?
If the problem is still persisting, instead of double clicking on the file to open it, try right or control clicking and then select Open With and choose the proper app from the list. -
My screen no longer moves with the way I'm holding the iPad. For example if I'm holding it horizontal the screen is vertical. Up unitl now the screen has always moved with the way I was holding the ipad. Is there something in Settings I can do to get this back?
If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left. (IOS 6). For iOS 7, swipe up from the bottom to get to the control center and look for the lock icon in the top row on the right.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the button
