Setting Up The Wireless Printer On My Daughters New Laptop

Hi,
I have just started using Airport Express at my girlfriends. I have setup her laptop to also have wireless access to the printer.
The printer is a Dell All In One Printer A920,
my girlfriends laptop is a Dell Inspirion 1150, my daughters new laptop is a Dell Insprion (I can not remember the model number).
I have just bought a new laptop for our daughter and i want her to be able to use our printer from her bedroom wirelessly as well.
How do I set up her laptop to use our printer?
Obviously, my girlfriends laptop had the original printer software on it for the printer while it was connected via USB. I had to then set up the printer again using Add a Printer, in Printer and Faxes in the Control Panel, so she could use it wirelessly, as per the Airport intstructions, but the printer software was already there.
My daughters laptop does not have this software on it. Do I need to install it first, even though the printer is not connected to it physically, or can I just set it up using Add a Printer? The instructions don't explain how to set up a second computer correctly to use the wireless printer!!
What is the correct procedure for setting up a second laptop to use the printer on my wireless network??
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.
Dell Inspiron 1150   Windows XP   I am about to switch to Mac!!!

I have tried both myself, (I must say iFelix does a very good job), I find out that the Bonjour is more easy and proves it works prefectly under few system. Regarding the suggestion of iFelix, I do not the reason behind, in few cases it did not work (NOT THE SETUP BUT THE PRINTING)on my HP's printer, but no problem at all under the Bonjour.
You just need to download and install the Bonjour on your computer, connect your printer with your airport, make a connection between your daughter PC with the airport. Then run the Bonjour setup, follow the instructions, you will able to see the printer there, just add the driver for your printer. Good Luck

    Hi @

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you would like to learn how to print from your Samsung S5 to your HP printer.
To better assist you, would you please supply some additional information:
What model and product number of HP printer do you have? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)? I’m just looking for confirmation that the printer is connected to your home wireless network still.
Was the phone connected to the same wireless network that the printer is connected to?
What version of operating system are you using on your phone? If you are unsure how to find this information, please follow the steps in wikiHow’s How to Figure out Your Mobile Operating System
Are you getting any error messages? If yes, what do they say?

  • Setting up a wireless printer for iPad

I am trying to purchase a printer to print documents/email/ect. from my ipad using an app. I DO NOT own a computer at home, so I would need to set up the wireless printer on my network without needing a computer to do so. Is anyone aware of any printers that will allow this?
If not, are there any other ways to allow for printing form the iPad without using a computer as well (for example, a adapter or special cord)?
    Any info will be appreciated!

You can simply print from your ipad wirelessly without any kind of cables or Internet connections.
All you need is a simple router like “Tenda W150M Portable Wireless AP/Router (Microcenter: $34.99)” is a small device that can be powered right off of most printers USB ports. Then obviously connect any Wi-Fi ready printer and IPad to this “Tenda” router. No Internet service needed, you are using this for network connectivity purposes only. You now can be anywhere for ex: like in a car and be able to print from your IPad or iphone wirelessly, without any other needed connections.

  • HP C309a set-up with wireless print server

My HP C309a wireless radio no longer seems to work (run diagnostics, reset to factor defaults, etc, over and over without luck), so now I'm trying to set it up with a Linksys Wireless-G print server (WPS54G).  I've gone thru all of the linksys print server set-up steps, but the wireless connection fails.  I turned off the wireless radio on the printer, but are there other steps I need to take to get the wireless print server to work with this printer?  Thanks.

Have you reset the printer - turn it off, hold # and 6 keys while turning back on.  This can sometimes reset the wireless radio....sometimes not.
Honestly, I don't know a lot about wireless print servers other than they are hard to set up and its best if the server and your router are made by the same company - and that they usually only support printing.
Another off the wall option is to use powerline Ethernet (google it).  This uses the power lines in your home to transmit Ethernet signals.

Upgrade your RAM to at least 4GB's.  Your machine can support 6GB's, but upgrade to 4GB's first. Regardless of what Apple says, you need at least 4GB's to run Lion properly.

  • Hi.  I'm trying to set-up the wireless access times in my Airport Utility.  I need to enter the "Description" and the "MAC Address" of each wireless client before I assign access times. What are these?  Thanks.

Hi.  I'm trying to set-up the wireless access times in my Airport Utility.  I need to enter the "Description" and the "MAC Address" of each wireless client before I assign access times. What are these?  Thanks.

Let's say that an iPhone is one of the wireless clients that you want to allow access to the network.
The Description of this device is anything that you want to specify for easy identification purposes. For example, the Description might be something like......
    Rex's iPhone
The MAC Address, also known as a Wi-Fi Address is  a unique indentifiction number that is assigned to every device. The number will always follow this form:
xx : xx : xx : xx : xx : xx, where "x" could be a number or letter.
To find the MAC Address or Wi-Fi Address of an iPhone or iPad.....
    On the Home screen.....
    Tap Settings
    Tap General
    Tap About
Wi-Fi Address is the item that you want
If you have a Mac computer......you can find the MAC Address or Wi-Fi Address as follows:
Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)
    Open Network
Click on Wi-Fi on the left
Click Advanced at the lower right
The Wi-Fi Address for the Mac is located at the bottom of the window
Other wireless devices usually have the MAC Address or Wi-Fi Address on the label on the back or bottom of the device

  • Photosmart C6280 Wireless Printing setup on a new Windows 7 - 32 bit machine..

I am able to print wireless with Windows XP machines in my home office on the Photosmart C6280 all-in-one printer.  I have installed all of the Windows 7 - 32 bit drivers from hp.com.  I have connected the printer and printed successfully through a USB cable with my new machine.  I am able to see the wireless printer that I would like to select.  However, I am unable to connect to it and print with like I was when it was USB connected.
I receive the following message when trying to select the printer I would like to select ....
"Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied."
    Any thoughts or suggestions ??

I have a notebook with Windows 7 and have successfully installed this printer via USB.
I also wish to use it wirelessly as I did with Vista and have gone to Devices nad Printers in the Control Panel to Add the printer wirelessly,
It finds the printer at 192.168.1.2 and installs ok.
When I ping 192.168.1.2 it replies ok
However, when I send a print to it wirelessly it keep giving me an error.
I tried turning off the firewall to no effect.
When I go into the Printer Properties it shows the port as being 192.168.1.2 and is set to Raw.
Please advise what is wrong here.
