  • Setting up aim mail

i use the free email service aim mail from aol and am having trouble setting it up with the mail program. aol's support was no help and i was wondering if anyone knew how to set it up?

It's pretty clear from a cursory look at it, the AIM Mail is AOL's branded web mail product, and that they intended that it be read primarily using a web browser. Maybe that's why they were not helpful.
You can likely configure a Mail account to read it using IMAP technology and settings like this:
    account type: IMAP
description: AIM Mail (or any other representation you choose to appear in Mail)
    incoming mail server: imap.aol.com
electronic mail address: < AOL screen name or AIM identifier >@aol.com
full name: <your first and last names>
user name: <AOL screen name or AIM identifier>
    password: <your password>
    outgoing mail server: smtp.aol.com
server port: 25 (this is selected automatically and is not see initially during setup)
    authentication: password
user name: <AOL screen name or AIM identifier>
    password: <your password>
Those settings worked for me, though the SMTP via SSL service was selected automatically when I configured the mail box and enabled secure connections, so port selection was not required. If you choose to later edit this account, you'll see that 25 was selected by default.
Remember that with IMAP, your AOL mailboxes on each client are effectively 'synchronized' so that removing a message on the AIM Mail

  • Im trying to send out a word doc and it tells me I need to set up an account with enterage. I already have my email set up with regular mail? How can I send it out through my email that is active?

Im trying to send out a word document via email. It tells me it cannot send because I have not yet set up an account with enterage. My email is active already with Apple regular mail program. How can I send it out through reg mail?

Save the Word document. Create your email in your normal mail application (Mail?), click on the add attachment icon (the paperclip if you are using Mail). Navigate to where you saved the Word file and select it. It should now appear as an attachment in your email. If you are sending it to a PC user and you are using Mail make sure 'Send Windows-friendly attachments' is selected in the edit menu. And if you don't want the attachment to display inline within the body of the email Control+Click on it and select 'view as icon'.

  • Sending purchase order through e-mail

    Hi,
I need to send purchase order in PDF through e-mail. I know it is possible to automatically have it sent to the vendor, but my requirement is different. PO is created as conversion of PREQ, so I need to send it not to vendor directly, but to the PREQ creator first (for possible corrections etc.) Is this somehow possible? I'm using exit EXIT_SAPMM06E_020 where I'd like to paste call to the function module (in update task), which would send the e-mail.
    Thanks in advance.

  • PO send to vendor through e-mail

    Hi All,
while sending the PO to vendor through e mail, some POs sent to vendor. but some are not. I have seen the in the vendor master address screen the e mail is correct.
And i have seen the messages in PO , the medium 5 (external send) is also maintained for the all POs which is sent and not sent.
So please guide in this in which part the error will be possible
    Thanks in advance
    with regards
    Allen

    Follow this
Basically there are two mail types: Internet mail (external mail) and SAPOffice mail.
Mail is sent via the output determination in both cases.
If you use the external mail, the message for the purchasing document is converted into a corresponding text file which is sent to the vendor via the Internet.
SAPOffice mail is sent only within the R/3 System and has mainly the function of providing information.
In particular, it is not possible to attach a message (form) for a purchasing document to a SAPOffice mail.
When using external mail, the following basic settings are required:
    1. You must maintain an e-mail address in the address in the vendor master.
    2. The same applies to your own user master. You also have to specify an e-mail address there in order to identify the sender.
o Note that it is not possible to change the e-mail address of the vendor
o You can use a temporary email address in Transaction ME21N.
    3. For the output type for default values, a communication strategy needs to be maintained in the Customizing that supports the e-mail.
You can find the definition of the communication strategy in the Customizing via the following path: (SPRO -> IMG -> SAP Web Application Server -> Basic Services -> Message Control -> Define
Communication Strategy). As a default, communication strategy CS01 is delivered. This already contains the necessary entry for the external communication. Bear in mind that without a suitable communication strategy it is not possible to communicate with a partner via Medium 5 (external sending).
    4. Use the standard SAP environment (program 'SAPFM06P', FORM routine 'ENTRY_NEU' and form 'MEDRUCK') as the processing routines.
    5. In the condition records for the output type (for example,Transaction MN04), use medium '5' (External send).
    6. You can use Transaction SCOT to trigger the output manually. The prerequisite for a correct sending is that the node is set correctly. This is not described here, but it must have already been
    carried out.
    7. To be able to display, for example, the e-mail in Outlook, enter PDF as the format in the node.
To use the SAPOffice mail, the following basic settings are required:
    1. For the output type for default values, a communication strategy needs to be maintained in the Customizing that supports the e-mail.
You can branch to the maintenance of the communication strategy via the input help.
    2. Use the SAP standard environment (program "RSNASTSO" and FORM routine "SAPOFFICE_AUFRUF") as the processing routines.
    3. In the condition records for the output type (for example,Transaction MN04), use medium '7' (SAPOffice) and also partner role 'MP' (mail partner).
    Additional settings:
    Problem:
How can you both change the mail title and text for the sending of a mail message and maintain a replacement parameter, for example a document number.
    Solution:
    1. The replacement routine is maintained in the Customizing for the output type in the detail screen on the 'General data' tab under 'Replacement of text symbols' (for Release < 4.6B, this can be found on the 'Mail' tab page).
    Program: SAPMM06E
    FORM routine: TEXT_SYMBOL_REPLACE
    2. Maintain mail title and text.
o If you want to send a purchase order within an R/3 system using the SAP office, you can maintain both the mail title ('Re:') and also a mail text in the Customizing for the output type To do this, select the directory mail title and text for the corresponding message type.
o If you want to send a purchase order as (external) mail, for example, to a vendor, you have to maintain the mail title in the condition record for the output type (for example in Transaction MN05) on the 'Communication method' tab page. Enter the mail title in the 'Text for cover page' field. You cannot maintain an additional mail text.
o Note that the values from the mail title are used to create the description for the attachment.
    3. The replacement parameters must be enclosed by &. Example: You want to enter the title 'PO number '. For this you have to enter the following in the Document Title field (Message Customizing ->
sub-option: Mail title and texts) 'PO number &EKKO-EBELN&'

  • Emails always are suck in outbox when sent through Apple mail

Emails always are suck in outbox when sent through Apple mail. How should I deal with it ? Many thanks!

As mentioned, Outlook is not email standards compliant. It probably never will be based on Microsoft's history. However, I think there are various issues involved in the problems people have. I often send emails from home to my Outlook account at work. I have never experienced any of the problems that I've seen posted anywhere regarding Mail and Outlook.
My conclusion is that there are issues with certain Exchange Server configurations and/or issues with your own ISP mail server causing the issues.
I do have my system set up to Always send windows friendly attachments (from what I've read, this really is 'send Outlook friendly attachments'), and always put attachments at the end. Prior to the 'always put attachments at the end,' I wasn't having any issues, either. However, I read that that setting helped with other email clients, so I use it.
The obvious question is, "well, how is your exchange server configured." I would love to provide the answer to that question; however, I work for a DoD organization, so actually tracking down the person that knows the answer to that question will take somewhere between five years and never. With my 20+ years experience with the DoD, I'm leaning towards the never end of the spectrum. The other half of the equation is, "I'm using cox as my ISP."

When I compose and send a mail, it gets placed in Outbox and I get a prompt stating something like "relating the message is not supported". Even if I compose a newest age, it says the vey same thing. I just cannot send any response through my mail account. Can anyone help with a solution?

You haven't set up the SMTP (outgoing) mail server correctly. You probably didn't enter your user ID and password for the outgoing server. They are needed even though it says "optional".

  • BEx Broadcasting through e-mail, using dynamic variant

    Dear SAP Gurus,
I'm new to SAP-BI, I came across the following situation:
I've a query based on which the reports are being generated.
My client wants to broadcast it every month, as they don't have any portal, so it has to be done through e-mail.
the query has 3 system variable which are FISCALYEAR and CALDAY, i dont remember 3rd.
So, I've to create DYNAMIC VARIANT, I tried the following procedure but its not working.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/9075b11a-6e43-2c10-b7be-cfa0e97ec0cc?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true
    please help me.

    Hi shivsam  ,
    1. What you need is dynamic filling the variant value.
    2. In transaction SE38 enter the variant name
    3.choose the attributes  button.
    4. Here you can set the field to u201Cselection variable.u201D
5.Then you can define something like  SY-DATUM(4)  for fiscal year and in the same way for calday SY-DATUM+6(2) .
    Hope this will help .

  • Sending of GR & GI slips through external mail

    Hi All,
Kindly suggest me, to achieve following client requirement.
The requirement is to send the GR and GI slips through external mail to "Goods Recipient" for MIGO transaction.
    Many thanks,
    Venkat

You might want to use the message type MLGR (mail at goods receipt), but
this message type will only work with the Message transmission medium 7
    (SAPoffice) and the processing routines:
    Program     : RSNASTSO
    FORM routine: SAPOFFICE_AUFRUF
this is, unfortunately, you will be unable to send out an external
mail (transmission medium 5) to your vendor using the message type MLGR.
For a message type MLGR to be outputed, it is necessary to flag in the
Purchase Order Header the 'Goods receipt message' indicator (EKKO-WEAKT)
and, as you can read in the F1-on-line help for this indicator:
    "Indicator: Goods receipt message
Indicator specifying that the system is to issue an appropriate message
to the buyer following each goods receipt in respect of this purchase
    order".
Therefore, the system has been designed to send an internal e-mail to
the User ID who created the purchase order (buyer). This is made via
SAPoffice and medium 7. However, the system has not been designed to
send an external e-mail to the vendor.
You can also check the IMG Activity Documentation for the activity
    'Output Determination' under the path:
    SPRO
    -> Materials Management
-> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory
          -> Output Determination
    "Output Determination
In Inventory Management, output is text that is created at the time of
goods movements. There are output documents such as:
.- goods receipt/issue slips ( example, GR/GI slips, pallet slips)
    .- labels
    .- kanban cards
.- MAIL messages which Inventory Management uses to communicate with
other departments (purchasing or materials planning, for example).
    Note:
In the case of a goods receipt for a purchase order, MAIL messages are
sent to purchasing in two cases:
.- if Purchasing has set the indicator "GR output" in the purchase
        order,
.- if an order price quantity has been entered at the time of a goods
receipt which lies outside the tolerances (for a warning message).
In the case of a goods receipt of missing parts, a mail message is sent
to the MRP controller if the missing parts check is active for the
    plant.
The standard system contains all settings for this output. You only
have to maintain the mail texts for the following output types:
    MLGR (GR message)
    MLMD (GR quantity variance)
MLFH (goods receipt of missing part)".
    Therefore:
1.- MAIL messages within Inventory Management are used to communicate
with other departments (purchasing or materials planning, for
example), but not to send out information to vendors.
2.- MLGR (GR message) are sent out to the Purchasing department only
when the indicator "GR Message" has been set in the purchase order.

  • Trouble with aim & mail

I am having trouble getting mail to receive my aim mail. it will send mail through the aim account, but i keep getting this error messagage regarding inbound mail - There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account “Aim account” or try again.
The server error encountered was: The connection to the server “imap.aim.com” on port 587 timed out.
I just got a new macbook, after having a powerbook G4. My G4 didn't have this problem with the aim account, so I don't know what else to do.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Noreen

    Noreen,
Port 587 would be only valid as an Outgoing Server, and not for Incoming Servers. In Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced what is the name of the Incoming Server shown?
With an IMAP account not using SSL, the Port would be expected to be 143 -- if using SSL, then Port 993.
More info please, including where advice to attempt to use 587 for the Incoming came from?

Press command-, and that will take you to preferences.
Up near the top click the "Accounts" tab
Click the plus button that is located at the lower left corner.
Enter your name, email address, and password.
    Click enter then click continue
Set the account type to POP or IMAP. Whichever one you want is fine as long as it works with your email service.
Don't change the next security settings. Click continue.
Enter something for the description. Make sure that the "Use Athentication" checkbox is checked. Enter your password and click continue.
Click continue you might have to go through one of the security settings again. Click continue.
An account summary will come up. Click "Take account online". Then click create.

    Welcome to the forum!
No clues as to what device this refers to here but are you using a network access point rather than WLAN for authentication as you can change it back once set up if you want?

  • Accessing my hotmail.co.uk account through mac mail - deeply frustrated!!!

Hello everyone, and thanks for your patience as I know very similar queries have been answered already in previous discussions.
I have just bought my first mac after years of pc use.
I would love to be able to access my hotmail.co.uk account through mac mail on os x tiger.
However, despite following all previous posts as accurately as I possibly can, this still won't work. For this reason, I have transcribed absolutely everything I enter into the account setup below, to see if anyone can detect why this isn't working.
I have downloaded httpmail (http://www.automagic-software.com/products.php) as suggested on previous posts.
Also as suggested on a previous discussion, I have set mail to run using rosetta, to help deal with any complications I may face using my intel macbook.
My email address is [email protected]
Now, when I go to set up my account on mail, I enter:
    PAGE 1: GENERAL INFORMATION
    Account type: httpmail
    Account description: Hotmail acccount
    Full name: Alistair White
    Email address: [email protected]
    PAGE 2: INCOMING MAIL SERVER
    Incoming mail server: www.hotmail.co.uk
    Username: awhitetbn
    Password: ******
I am then presented with the account summary:
    Account description: Hotmail account
    Full name: Alistair White
    Email address: [email protected]
    Username: awhitetbn
    Incoming mail server: www.hotmail.co.uk
    SSL: off
    Outgoing mail server: services.msn.com:awhitetbn
    SSL: off
Next page: Conclusion: a new account has been created.
Ok! All seems well, so I send a test email. However, I get the following message:
Cannot send message using the server services.msn.com:awhitetbn
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server.
However, in the pop-up menu, the only option I have is:
    send message using: HTTPmail:awhitetbn
I would dearly love this to work and I sense I am not far from the solution... If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Where am I going wrong?
    Many many thanks
    Alistair White

If you selected the Universal version of the httpmail plugin for download which installs a combination version that is compatible with Intel or PPC Macs , there is no reason to set the Mail.app to run under Rosetta on your Intel Mac.
The sending problem is with your internet service provider and not the Mail.app or the httpmail plugin.
Do you have access to an email account and SMTP server that is provided by your internet service provider used for connecting to the internet and if so, have you used your ISP's email account in the past with an email client on a Windows PC or via webmail access for the account?
Most if not all ISPs now block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network or not provided by the ISP on Port 25 which is the default or standard port used for all SMTP servers. Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated SMTP server only that is outside of their network on Port 25 but some block its use regardless. These restrictions are part of an overall effort to prevent spam emanating from the ISP's domain.
    First option to try.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for your Hotmail account preferences at the SMTP server selection, select the Server Settings button below for the Hotmail SMTP server.
Enter 587 in place of 25 in the Server Port field and when finished, select OK to save the changed setting.
If this doesn't work and you have access to an email account and SMTP server provided by your ISP, you can create/access your ISP's account with the Mail.app or at least add your ISP's SMTP server to the Mail.app as an available SMTP server to choose from.
Select/use your ISP's SMTP server to send messages with your Hotmail account and with any email account not provided by your ISP.
