Scan to Email Error Message "cannot connect to server. check server name and address"
I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.
I've been using this printer for several months. Now am getting an ERROR message when I try to scan to email that it "cannot connect to server. check server name and address"
I'm not sure how to check this. We can all still print remotely via the internet connection.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the info.,
Did you recently change your operating system or network router that started to cause this error?
Check out this thread - http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/Configuring-quot-Scan-To-E-mail-quot-on-HP-...
You may also need to change the printer DNS settings manually - http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/HP-8500-Scan-to-Email-setup-cant-conne...

I have problem on using google earth on my iPad and my MacBook Pro
All the time I received the message cannot connect to serverSometimes the sign-in process goes kablooey for whatever reason. It can usually be remedied by tapping the options icon (the cogwheel out in the project selection user interface; upper right) > My Account. Sign in that way and you should be able to get everything going again. I just did it on my Google Nexus 7 2013 with no problems.

My iPad is bringing up a message saying "cannot get mail"the connection to server failed. It won't bring up my yahoo mail but does bring up my other mail...how do I fix?
Other users have been reporting Yahoo mail problems that are not iPad problems. Might be something to try on these links.

IPad Air wifi works but Safari returns message cannot connect to Apple server?
using iPad Air wifi works but Safari returns message cannot connect to Apple server? (Friends iPad otherwise couldn't post!)
Many thanks for contacting me Carolyn. However the wifi was working fine and I found the solution from this posting:

So resetting the iPad by holding down the Home and Sleep buttons together to reset it did the job.

Error message "cannot connect to server"
Often I get an error message "cannot connect to server" when
I want to connect to acrobat.com directly from a .pdf document in
order to upload it . Is it possible that there is some security
issue involved, e.g. that the document is protected somehow? Or
could browser or firewall settings be involved?Hi Peterernst,
Thanks for posting.
Perhaps yes, firewall, and browser popup blockers have been
known to cause some behavioral, and connectivity issues within
Acrobat.com
Users have had success with allowing *.acrobat.com as a
trusted site locally, to see if that allows connectivity.
Also what browser, and OS are you using?
If still in the Unix environment, do you have access to a
Windows, or Mac environment?
Thanks!

Ensure you have a active interenet connection, once thats verified and the problem still exists. Go into settings>Mail,Contacts,Calender click on the account in question, delete it, then re-add it.

I've tried setting my iPad exchange email with the same settings from my iPhone. However, iPad keeps saying it cannot verify account. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong. There is a small chance I may have the wrong password but I don't think that's the case.
Update....following a Power cycle the iPad SW was able to be updated and iTunes recognised it!!
Note iTunes SW version is 11.1.4 (62) 64 Bit.
All cables are OEM. -
My yahoo email was hacked. Changed password but since then unable to access account in usual way via "mail" icon.
Deleted yahoo account and tried to set it up again on I phone and I pad. Just keep getting message "cannot access server". Can read and send e mail via yahoo app but would like all e mail accounts back to under one icon. My I cloud account is still there.the settings program will not allow me to enter any of those cells. the accounts section is all in grey scale (not black) and none will open including "add account"

Like I said I have older macs but a new phone and I know longer can get emails. It says cannot connect to the server
Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
Check system requirements:
Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The main issue might be having too little RAM. Most computers run newer systems more smoothly with more RAM than Apple says is a "minimum" for running that system version
After installing 10.6.3 run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.
Jan. 2014 post by Kappy on doing all this: https://discussions.apple.com/message/24599931
The new system should install on top of the old one. That said, things have been known to go wrong and it makes sense to do a backup before installing the new system. In fact you seem to care about your files and things so you need to always have a backup because one day you will wake up and you hard drive will be dead and everrything on it gone. Buy an external hard drive and start using Time Machine or something to back up. The other risk is when you install the new iTunes. It doesn't happen frequently given the millions of users but there are daily posts here from people who for some reason the installation wiped out their whole library. If you have a backup then there's nothing to worry about.
This is well within what many people can do at home. It's a matter of inserting an optical disc and clicking you way through menus. -
I keep getting an error message "Cannot connect to server."
Can someone please help me with my phone, I cannot access Internet or my apps I keep getting an error message saying it cannot connect to server
Assuming that your phone isn't jailbroken or hacked to unlock:
1. Reset phone - press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings -

Can't get mail folders from IMAP server, why?
I set up my IMAP mail server, but i only see the inbox and not the other mail folders in the in the mail server.
why can i get my other mail folders from ther server?
RamAllan - Here's the other odd thing. Currently, I have my old mail account AND my new MM account both feeding into and out of Outlook. But since adding my MM acct. - even though I set it as my default mail acct. - the hierarchy tree of Outlook folders is still treating my old acct. as king and my new MM acct. as second class. I know, what's that mean? I have my overriding "Personal Folders" folder, with the sub-folders (in addition to customized ones I added) - all of these at the same level - 'Deleted Items'; 'Inbox' (for my old account); 'Junk E-mail'; 'RSS Feeds'; 'Sent Items' and "Search Folders". Then, below that, but at the same hierarchy level as "Personal Folders", I have my MM's root of an IMAP store folder that has as its name my email address, including the "@me.com". Under that, at the same level of importance as my 'Deleted Items', etc. for my old account is my MM account's "Inbox", "Junk E-mail", "Sent" (which, like I said, I created when I sent the first email from my newly created MM account), and "Search Folders"... that's it. If I delete an email from my MM acct., or am in the process of creating an email in my MM acct., I can only find it in the aforementioned "Deleted Items" or "Draft" folders, as my MM acct. doesn't have these. Is this perhaps one indicator of my sent mail synching problem? Or does one have nothing to do with the other? Does Outlook only provide one each of "Drafts", "Deleted Items" and "Outbox" that all accounts share?

I have not been able to connect to the internet on my iPhone and iPad the past 36 hours.Went to the Apple store today and he said that maybe it will come back on it's own. That is the first time that I have been to the apple store with a disappointing resolve. Please help, there has to be an answer?
Your post says you have an iPhone 3G. Is it running iOS 4.2.1, which is the latest iOS it can run? Even if so, it's now quite old (nearly five years). That could be part of the problem.
Anyway, maybe you should delete your mail account (Settings >> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -- if it was still called that back in the iOS 4.2.1 days), and start over.
Here's the Mail Setup Assistant to help you do that:
