Setting up Yahoo Japan e-Mail on 2G iPod Touch

How can it be done? What is the correct incoming and out going POP server host names?
TIA,
Apple //GS

Have you tried setting it up the standard way
Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calenders - YMail! - And inputting your current user email and password settings? If so what happened?
The settings might be the following but not 100% sure
* Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.com.jp
Use SSL, port: 995
* Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smpt.mail.yahoo.com.jp
Use SSL, port: 465

On the iOS array of devices, you need to make sure all of the settings are right. I have found an official Verizon webpage for setting it up on Apple devices right here:

    Hope this helped!

You should really read the manual.
"How do you restore from backup? "
Restore.  When given the choice, choose to use backup.
"And how can I check to see if the pics and videos are on my computer somewhere first??"
They would only be where you put them.  What program did you use to import them?  Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

Are you logged in with the same account that was used to activate the phone ? If you are, and the apps aren't showing as free, then try logging out of your account by tapping on it at the botto of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in and see if they then show as free.

  • Sending e-mails from an iPod Touch

I ned to send ocaisional e-mails from my iPod Touch.  At the moment I cannot do so and get the error message that the sender address was rejected by the server.  I have checked the settings for e-mails and they appear to be correct.  I am able to receive e-mails.  If anyone can advise me as to how to overcome this problem, in simple terms please, i would appreciate it.

Spearthrower wrote:I am trying to send them using the e-mail app.  It is the backup file for the N+otes app that has highlighted the problem  However, when I try to send other e-mails I also get the error message : "The sender address <my [email protected]> was rejected by the server"
I'd delete the lot and start again. It may be a simple typo - like btinternewt! Did you try the alternative outgoing server port?

  • Problem syncing updated Mail accounts to iPod Touch

I updated all my Mail accounts to IMAPs, but iTunes still syncs the old POP account information to the Touch. So when using Mail on my iPod Touch, the settings are old from POP, and on my Mac, Mail is perfectly fine with new IMAP settings. How can I make iTunes realize that those POP settings do not exist anymore and all my accounts are now IMAPs and to sync them to the Touch accordingly?

Thank you both for the suggestion but..., the information that HerelsTom is suggesting, and the website that IIIaass is sharing a link too, I have already tried, (it was the first thing I found and tried). I reorganized the photos in the order I want by re-saving each photo in order so the Date Modified would be in descending order, and the order that I wanted, but it didn't work.
Should I go to the Apple store and ask?

  • Getting yahoo mail on G2 ipod touch?

    Hi all,
I've had a 1st gen ipod touch for a while now and can connect to my yahoo mail no problem.
However i've recently bought a new 2nd gen ipod touch, and now when i try to register my account, i get the error message...
The user name or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect.
My username and password are definately correct - I enter them all the time on my PC! And it still work on my old ipod touch, even if i delete the account and then set it up again. And I can access my mail if I use safari, but it's much easier to use the 'mail' app.
Any ideas? I don't know if it's a yahoo or ipod thing. My googlemail works fine on both ipods.
    Cheers.

Do you have any symbols in your password? I also got the same error as you "bad password/user name" and after a few hours of struggling I found the problem. I had a symbol in my password and apparently either apple or their link to yahoo can't deal with symbols. I changed my yahoo password to not include any symbols and it worked right away.
I have the ipod 2g. Never had the 1st gen so don't know how that works.

  • How do I set up minimum font size for mail messages in iPod touch 5G?

According to the iPod touch User Guide for iOS 6:
Set the minimum mail message font size: Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Minimum Font Size
But in "Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars" I don't see the "Minimum Font Size" option.
    Thank you in advance!

Look under Settings > General > Accessibility > Large Text

  • Using/Setting up a e-mail Account on iPod Touch

I have been able to setup and use my yahoo email on my iPod Touch but I am trying to do the same with my msn/hotmail email. How do I set this up and how can I obtain the the information from Microsoft for this to work? Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    G

Microsoft chose not to use the industry standard POP or IMAP protocol when developing MSN and Hotmail. So, I'm sorry to tell you that a free Hotmail or MSN account will not work with the iPod. However, if you decide to pay a fee to Microsoft, they will upgrade your account so that you'd be able to use your Hotmail account as POP.

Try deleting the Yahoo account stuff from the iPod and reenter the settings. Some users have had to reset their Yahoo password to get it to work. Many users have problems with their Yahoo account on the iPod.

  • The slow death of Mail.app on iPod Touch 2.0.2 ...

Since the upgrade to 2.0.2 Mail.app on my Touch keeps on dieing on me. Usually it works for a couple of days before it gets to the stage where when I open Mail I just see the white screen before it crashes a couple of seconds later.
I tried everything suggested anywhere, restoring from back up, setting it up as a new iPod...
Now yesterday I could actually see it degrading to the point where it was dead (again):
During the day it's hooked up to the WiFi at work and I get my Exchange mail on it. During the day I noticed that from the mails popping up on the Touch before they came into Outlook it went via mails popping up on the Touch after Outlook with more and more delay to the point where push didn't work at all any more and I had to go into Mail and then it would pull the mails. And finally in the afternoon it didn't even do that any more and in the end it got to the point where Mail greeted me with the now all so familiar white screen before it crashes...
I'm now waiting for the point where it doesn't even show the unread number of mails any more which I had last time before I restored it...
Quite frankly, I'm getting to the point where I'm rather annoyed! It can't be possible that I have to restore my Touch from scratch again every week or two!
So far I don't have the problem with 3rd party apps crashing on me but my confidence into the statement of Big Steve that app crashes will be fixed in the next version is kind of understated, to put it mildly... If Apple doesn't even get their own apps stable how can they be expected to fix 3rd party apps??
Don't get me wrong, I'm using Mac for about 10 years now and love the stability and speed of OS X. I just don't get it: the Touch is a piece of specific hardware in a locked down eco system and yet Apple is still unable to supply on this platform the same stability as on "normal" OS X with all the stuff I can manually break on there and all the software I can run on it.
I would like to get this fixed once and for all!
    Frank

And now I'm also getting the Error 0xE800002E when I try to update apps on the Touch... This thing turns out to be almost a crappy as Windows Mobile....
Apple, is RESTORING from scratch your ONLY answer to everything? What about FIXING things?? With things like this I can see why people don't want iPhones / iPods in enterprise environments... These days I can even FIX Windows and don't have to RESTORE it every time something goes wrong...
Again, don't forget that I'm a Mac Man... question is just for how long ...

  • E-mail settings in iPod Touch is gone.

Alright so couple hours ago I restored my iPod. Then few hours later I went into my settings to change something but then I noticed that my mail settings has disappers. Try this:
Email server settings (POP and SMTP)
AT&T email server settings are needed if you intend to use an email program (e.g. Outlook) with your AT&T email accounts. The current settings are displayed in the table below. If you only use AT&T Webmail to access your AT&T email accounts, these settings are not needed and you can access your mail by logging in at https://login.yahoo.com/.
If you signed up for a free att.net email account after 6/12/11, you will not be able to use an email program (e.g., Outlook) with your AT&T email account.
Note: AT&T's POP/SMTP settings have recently changed to inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net. However, if you are using the old settings, they will continue to work.
    The following mail server settings will work with all AT&T email domains: @ameritech.net, @att.net, @bellsouth.net, @flash.net, @nvbell.net, @pacbell.net, @prodigy.net, @sbcglobal.net, @snet.net, @swbell.net, @wans.net.
    Email Program Settings Field:
    Enter:
    Incoming (POP)
    inbound.att.net
    Outgoing (SMTP)
    outbound.att.net(requires authentication)
    Incoming mail server:
    POP3
    Incoming/Outgoing User Name:
Full AT&T email address, including domain (e.g., [email protected], [email protected])
    Incoming mail port #:
    995, secure connection (SSL) checked
    Outgoing mail port #
    465, secure connection (SSL) checked
Note: When updating the secure server settings, check the SSL check box first and then update the port number if necessary.
Message was edited by: Glenn Leblanc BTW: This comes directly from the AT&T help site. Go to help and search Email Server Settings. The reps should have suggested this.

  • New yahoo emails not getting pulled into IPOD Touch

Up until a couple of days ago, the MAIL icon on the IPOD touch would show how many messages were getting added to my yahoo mail account...the IPOD would pull the messages automatically.
Now the IPOD searches and does not pull in the new messages
Now, nothing happens. I can access the Web using safari and see Yahoo mail so I can see that WIFI is working otherwise...
I am using my home WIFI access

Mine xoes that occasionally.  I just suspect that the iPod just can't contact with the specific server that has the information for that particular location.
