Setting video resolution

Hi everybody.
I have an ipod touch 4th generation, 64 GB
I wanna know if it's possible to set video resolution of camera. If so, how I can do. If not, what's the default resolution?
Thank you in advance
Have a nice day

You can't change the video resolution.  The resolution is 720P

  • Setting video resolution on Apple TV 2

    Hi,
    The latest update finally adds an option to switch the resolution between 720p 50 Hz and 720p 60 Hz. Since I'm in PAL land most of my own content is 50Hz whereas the app store is 60 Hz. My tv deafults to 720p 50 Hz and when I try to change to 760p 60Hz I get an error message saying that the resolution is not supported. My popcorn hour displays 720p 60 hz without a glitch and 720p 60 hz is listed in the manual as a supported resolution. Anyone experiencing the same issue? Is this a viable excuse to upgrade to a new tv set?
    My tv is a Toshiba Z3030 LCD.

    @pejback
    On my ATV2 that not works, i use the Movie "The Art of Flight" from the Apple Sore, The Movie is located the on my iMac, iPad and iPhone.When i set to 720p60 the stuttering is a little lover. The Problem i has other Movie that has 720p25 and i must always change the Resolution instead of tthe Movie i use, this is very User unfriendly. I buy the same Movie as a Bluray, the Resolution is 1920x1080p23.97. When i start play this Movie the BD Player sends the new resolution to the TV and the TV display it for a short moment. Why Apple can not implement Frame Rate Synchronisation between Move and the TV.

  • How do i set hd video resolution?

    I am confused... what is this talk of HD video recording on my 4th generation iPod Touch, when the resulting videos are 568x320? I cannot find a place to set the resolution.
    What am I missing?
    chris

    Well, that was helpful. There were a whole bunch of resolutions in there, and ironically, UHD30 was at the top of the list (like it was Preferred or something).
    I changed the res and the mouse movement immediately became smoother. However, after about 9s, the screen went dark for about 2s, therm came back. I'm going to have to see how stable this turns out to be. But it looks really good right now.
    I may grab the EDID, parse it, and but some insights about it here. I did searches for UHD and 3840, but did not find anything useful. And there should be

  • Cannot  set display resolution after upgrading to Mavericks

    I have early Mac Mini  connected to KVM stitch.  Over the weekend I upgraded to Mavericks and it "dowgraded" display resolution from 1920x1200 to 1600x1200 and everythign looks streached.  1920x1200  no longer shows on the list in display properties (1920x1440 shows but it does not look good on my screen). I googled Option key trick and hitting "Scaled" while hold Option key does show some additional resolutions, but not the one I used to have.
    Connecting Mac directly to the monitor allowed me to set proper resolution and after removing monitor and pluging mac back into KVM things "held" untill Mac goes to sleep or until reboots.
    I am aware that my KVM switch does not communicate EDID but things did work just fine before upgrade to Mavericks.

    Hello curtdav,
    It sounds like you are getting a graphical anomoly when unplugging an external monitor. I recommend these troubleshooting steps from the article named:
    Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573
    Reset the system
    You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Reset the resolution
    Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
    From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
    Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
    Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Video Resolution, and Windows Reset?

    Two quick questions.
    1. Where, if possible, can I set the settings for the videos resolution (i.e. 16:9, pixels, ect)
    2. Is it possible to reset all the windows to their default opening layout and size? (I screwed up something on my timeline so now only half of the horizontal slider bar is showing until I click on it)

    From the menu: Window>Arrange>Standard.
    This will only reset the Layout.

  • Can't set monitor resolution to 1900x1200

    I have an HG281D monitor (hanns-g) with native resolution 1900x1200. Mac OS won't let me set the resolution higher than 1900x1080. How can I fix this? The display is clearly stretched vertically in its current configuration.
    Thanks,

    Note that Mac Pro ≠ MacBook Pro. This the MacBook Pro forum. The Mac Pro is a desktop machine. The MacBook Pro is a notebook computer, and you certainly can't have two NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 video cards installed in a MacBook Pro.

  • Setting monitor resolution in the login manager, before session launch

    Hey guys,
    I want to have SLiM set the resolution to "auto" once it boots. At the moment, it seems like it boots directly into 800x600, and not into my native resolution, 1366x768. Sometimes I have an external monitor connected as well, and it's a good deal larger.
    I was thinking it would be possible to run "xrandr --auto" which does this for me, but I am unable to see how exactly this is done through SLiM.
    If it becomes necessary, I'm willing to change login manager to something else. gdm, xdm, kdm, you name it.
    Thanks,
    gonX

    Are you using a /etc/X11/xorg.conf file?
    If not,  then you may want to try setting up a basic one with settings for your video card, monitor, and screen that includes the resolution that you want slim to use.
    Before XRandR, it was set up in the xorg.conf file.
    Though, now that I think about it, if it's an issue with size of the fonts, I think that you can adjust that in the slim theme.   I don't use slim or any login manager.
    I find that it's easier for me to log in via the console and startx manually.  That way if I break my X....      It's happened.
    Anyway, HTH

  • Can't set screen resolution

    I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.  The native resolution is 3200x1800.  On archlinux (running latest Gnome3), I don't have the option to set the resolution to 1080p (1920x1080).  However, I do have this option on Ubuntu and it works perfectly.
    I have read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/xr … esolutions and did what it says.  Here's my script to change the resolution:
    xrandr --newmode 1080p 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120 -hsync +vsync
    xrandr --addmode eDP1 1080p
    xrandr --output eDP1 --mode 1080p
    gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 1.0
    It worked for a while, but a few months ago, it stopped working.  When I run this script, the screen would blink twice, and go back to 3200x1800.  I ran the script with `journalctl -f` on, and here's what's in my logs:
    Mar 21 11:45:42 sargas gdm-Xorg-:0[303]: (II) intel(0): resizing framebuffer to 1920x1080
    Mar 21 11:45:42 sargas gdm-Xorg-:0[303]: (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on eDP1 using pipe 0, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none
    Mar 21 11:45:43 sargas gdm-Xorg-:0[303]: (II) intel(0): resizing framebuffer to 3200x1800
    Mar 21 11:45:43 sargas gdm-Xorg-:0[303]: (II) intel(0): switch to mode [email protected] on eDP1 using pipe 0, position (0, 0), rotation normal, reflection none
    You can see it switched right back to 3200x1800.  I don't see any information in other logs such as the X logs.  Any idea how I go about debugging it?  I know it's a supported resolution since I can change to it under Ubuntu and it used to work under Arch.
    Thanks in advance!

    My sysadmin skills are rusty. I'm not sure how to see how it was mounted. I selected it from the vm's Devices menu and it gets mounted under /media.

    CRCsum="323821212"
    MD5="27c56ae5150d4947b538ddc6e66a0b19"
    It is executable, and I believe a ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run runs it, and yes, by "points to" I meant the first line in the script. So I'm not sure why I have to invoke it as */bin/sh* ./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run to get it to run successfully.
    I'm obviously beyond this, but if you have an answer it would satisfy a bit of curiosity.
    After installing the additions, I can still only run at 1600x1200. I can live with this. I suspect it's a VirtualBox limitation since I can only give 128mb to video memory. After the GUI oracle11g database install, ssh is all I need anyway.
    Thanks all.

  • Trying to set console resolution to 1440x900 at startup

    Hi, I've got an NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M and I'd like to set my console resolution to 1440x900.
    For starters, X works just fine. Everything goes great.
    But when I boot into the console, I can't set a resolution any higher than 1024x768 which, on this laptop, looks pretty wonky. I've tried vbetest and having GRUB ask me at bootup, but nothing shows me an available resolution near 1440x900.
    Any thoughts? Danke.

    Hello
    The solution is to use KMS (Kernel Mode Settings), to get the kernel to initialise the GPU itself, thus allowing every video mode in the console. This requires the nouveau driver.
    Cheers

  • How to set screen resolution on Apple TV Gen2

    This is my first bad out of the box experience with an Apple product. I got my brand new Apple TV Gen 2 and hooked it up to our Sony Receiver/TV.
    Plugged everything in. Turned it on and I got the screen but am not able to change resolution. With the current resolution I can not see all the menus and the display does not fit on the 40" display.
    Tried unplugging.
    Tried doing a reset.
    Tried holding the Menu & Down arrow
    Tried looking through the menus, such as Settings, Video & Audio but can't find anything on setting screen resolution
    Tried searching this forum for instructions for changing resolution
    Much appreciation in advance for any tips or magic tricks on setting screen resolution.

    i also have this problem. i had a long discussion with apple support and the result was that apple tv 2 is not build for connecting it to a receiver but only to a up-to-date flat TV. i don´t know how i managed it to use the 720p resolution but as i had it i set the auto power to off and let it switched on all the time.
    after the update to 4.2.1 it had no chance to get it to 720p. it is locked to 1024x768 which is not the resolution i want to watch HD movies.
    but my setup is not a normal one. i have a onkyo AV receiver which is sending the HDMI signal over a HDMI splitter to an LCD screen and a HD beamer. the LCD screen is an old one which has no HDMI input, i use a HDMI to analog-component converter for this. the HDMI output of the onkyo is connected to a wireless HDMI system from marmitek.
    so its not so the ideal setting for apple tv. i hope that everything works fine if i have a new flat TV with a normal HDMI input.

  • Unsupported video resolution

    I changed to an unsupported (by my monitor) video resolution and now I can't see the screen. How do I change it back?

    I believe if you reset PRAM, it will revert to a default setting. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1242 & http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379?viewlocale=en_US

  • Apple TV 2 does not switch automatically the video resolution (60 HZ / 50 HZ)

    My apple TV streams the content from a Mac Mini. In my iTunes library are mixed content from the iTunes store. Some are 24 fps with 60 Hz and some are 25 fps with 50 HZ. All was bought on iTunes. The video resolution is set on my Apple TV to AUTO. This mens for me that my Apple TV will change the resolution by itself depending on the movie.
    And this is the problem. The Apple TV does not change the resolution. It is only on 60 Hz. A lot of people has the same problem. My iPad wokrs fine and displays all movies correct.

    Thank you for the eplanation. What might cause that activity as the TV was off and no other HDMI was on? Only WiFi was available but nothing connecting to the apple TV.... I tried to "wake it up" with iTunes on my macbook - and it works (I was not aware of). But it could not be iTunes and it was not really "used". So it might be iPhone or iPod waking it without we want it to.
    I'll check all items potentially connecting to it. Txs!

  • Change Video Resolution

    Hi at all
    I want to change the resolution of my video. As far as I know this is possible with IAMStreamConfig.But all the samples I see are handling with a Webcam Input.
    What about changing the resolution of a video file?
    That's how I would do it, but it doesn't work
    Code Snippet
    Guid iid = typeof(IAMStreamConfig).GUID;
    object outPin;
    hr = cgb2.FindInterface(PinCategory.Capture, MediaType.Video, fileSource, iid, out obj);
    DsError.ThrowExceptionForHR(hr);
    IAMStreamConfig config = outPin as IAMStreamConfig;
    AMMediaType mediaType;
    hr = config.GetFormat(out mediaType);
    DsError.ThrowExceptionForHR(hr);
    try
    VideoInfoHeader vih = new VideoInfoHeader();
    Marshal.PtrToStructure(mediaType.formatPtr, vih);
    vih.BmiHeader.Width = 640;
    vih.BmiHeader.Height = 480;
    finally
    Marshal.ReleaseComObject(mediaType);

    You both understood what I wanted. Yes I want to the change the video Resolution, not the display resolution!
    But when you look at the DxLogo sample you will see this method:
    Code Snippet
    private void SetConfigParms(ICaptureGraphBuilder2 capGraph, IBaseFilter capFilter, int iFrameRate, int iWidth, int iHeight)
                int hr;
                object o;
                AMMediaType media;
                IAMStreamConfig videoStreamConfig;
                IAMVideoControl videoControl = capFilter as IAMVideoControl;
                // Find the stream config interface
                hr = capGraph.FindInterface(
                    PinCategory.Capture, MediaType.Video, capFilter, typeof(IAMStreamConfig).GUID, out o );
                videoStreamConfig = o as IAMStreamConfig;
                try
                    if (videoStreamConfig == null)
                        throw new Exception("Failed to get IAMStreamConfig");
                    hr = videoStreamConfig.GetFormat(out media);
                    DsError.ThrowExceptionForHR( hr );
                    // copy out the videoinfoheader
                    VideoInfoHeader v = new VideoInfoHeader();
                    Marshal.PtrToStructure( media.formatPtr, v );
                    // if overriding the framerate, set the frame rate
                    if (iFrameRate > 0)
                        v.AvgTimePerFrame = 10000000 / iFrameRate;
                    // if overriding the width, set the width
                    if (iWidth > 0)
                        v.BmiHeader.Width = iWidth;
                    // if overriding the Height, set the Height
                    if (iHeight > 0)
                        v.BmiHeader.Height = iHeight;
                    // Copy the media structure back
                    Marshal.StructureToPtr( v, media.formatPtr, false );
                    // Set the new format
                    hr = videoStreamConfig.SetFormat( media );
                    DsError.ThrowExceptionForHR( hr );
                    DsUtils.FreeAMMediaType(media);
                    media = null;
                    // Fix upsidedown video
                    if (videoControl != null)
                        VideoControlFlags pCapsFlags;
                        IPin pPin = DsFindPin.ByCategory(capFilter, PinCategory.Capture, 0);
                        hr = videoControl.GetCaps(pPin, out pCapsFlags);
                        DsError.ThrowExceptionForHR( hr );
                        if ((pCapsFlags & VideoControlFlags.FlipVertical) > 0)
                            hr = videoControl.GetMode(pPin, out pCapsFlags);
                            DsError.ThrowExceptionForHR( hr );
                            hr = videoControl.SetMode(pPin, 0);
                finally
                    Marshal.ReleaseComObject(videoStreamConfig);
    What do I have to do that this (also) works with a File Source?
    Because this method only works with a Live Source (from webcam etc.)

  • Keystroke to start up G5 at basic video resolution?

    Is there a way to start my stock 1.8 GHZ single G5 in basic video resolution (like, VGA?) by holding down some key at startup? I connected the G5 to a new 26" Dell LCD screen. Upon startup, the Dell said "can't display this video mode, change computer display input to 1360 X 768 @ 60Hz."
    The Dell worked with this computer before, I guess the G5 is still set to a sky high resolution (1600 pixel?) from another monitor. It's not easy to mess with the G5 now, it's walled around with gear, so I was hoping maybe I could simply hold some key at startup to boot it in VGA to make the Dell work?

    Press the Shift key at startup. If that doesn't work, no.

    My video is low res. 7.6.6 on OSX 10.5.8 has disabled the media settings. I have tried to change the settings for "instant on" but it keeps defaulting to the on position in the medium range. I tried to re-install 7.6.4 but while the player shows that it has been properly installed when i go to the QT pro registration it is still showing that it is 7.6.6. QUESTION How do I re-configure QT pro for my firefox browser so that I get the proper resolution (I don't want to upgrade to the newest OS yet.

    "Instant On" setting is for "streaming" media:

    It has nothing to do with the video resolution.
