Settings APP opens and immediately closes?

How do I stop this from Happening.
E-mail does the same click on email and it immediately closes

Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if, it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Hello all,
I've had some problems starting all of my third party, downloaded apps. Sometimes, typically after and restart or syncing with my macbook, I'll attempt to open an app and the app window opens then immediately goes back to the home screen. After some time it returns to normal, but at the time of this posting, after about 5 hours of standby and 2 hours of usage since last charging, the apps have still not returned to normal.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I did.
Ended up restoring and syncing on a completely different computer to fix the problem.
If you don't have another computer, try rebooting your phone... hold the power button and home button until the apple logo appears. Also try rebooting your computer and doing a fresh sync.

Forgot to mention I live in Peru Southamerica, the cell provider is Claro (America Moviles).

Ipod touch 1st gen apps open then immediately close

All downloaded apps open then immediately close except a few. All factory apps(ones that cant be deleted) work.

Have you tried basics from the manual?

The downloaded apps, not the apps that came with the phone, close immediately after i open them. i have reseted it multiple times and it doesnt work. HELP!!

I too have just experienced this, I suspect because I hooked my iphone up to a friends laptop when visiting on holiday (in Canada) and thought that rather than opening a new topic, I'd add on the end of this one...
I have tried all suggestions found on Google (a restore, de-authorising my laptop and re-authorising with the itunes store, not syncing apps, downloading a new app (on the iphone and on my laptop) and then re-syncing and none of this has worked.
Interestingly, if I download a brand new app via my laptop and sync it to my iphone, it works but all of my old apps restored from the backup open and then close within 2 seconds.
Can anyone help?

To be honest, I don't know but Backup your files and Factory reset it (Clear all of its memory to its original settings, and if that dosent help go to the Apple Store and book a appointment

PSE 11 Opens and Immediately Close

Try a hard reset to see if that clears things up. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, it may be necessary to restore the iPod from a previous backup or even factory defaults.

Try this:
1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

Using the battery level meter in this manner is comparable to using your car's fuel gauge to calculate miles per gallon. The only thing that matters is the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown.

My settings and messages app open and then close in a matter of seconds, I've tried restoring from the back up of and downloading a free app. Nothing's worked. I'd really like to avoid setting up as new. I'm on 6.1 PLEASE HELP

i'm also having major CPU problems w/ FF 29.0.1. when i restart the app it calms down again but after loading tabs it steadily climbs up to 100% after not too long. i have checked out the 2 CPU links/articles above and do all the basic troubleshooting and tips, but with all the FF tools & add-ons isn't there some sort of CPU monitor that has the ability to display which extensions/scripts are hogging the CPU? Activity Monitor on Mac just shows the total used by the app. it's impossible in my case to efficiently disable dozens of add-ons & scripts, restart, and test each one by one b/c it can take several hrs before the CPU starts to spike high again. i have no time for this.

All of a sudden, 2-3 apps just close immediately, but in one (Songbook) there are 300 files. What happens if I have to reinstall, will I lose the files

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
