Settings dont transfer after netinstall deployment

Hi all,
I am stumped with this one.
so I created my model image, with the client account, with all the settings as per request. I check all the setting before creating the image using SIU on os x 10.5 server. SIU creates the image successfully and I deploy the image on to a test machine via my network and all works fine. how ever when I go into the user account all the settings are gone. most of these are adobe photoshop, bridge cs3 settings. but even options like turning off blue tooth dosnt seem to work.
in this environment we dont use ldap so using workgroup manager is out of the question (although I am trying to promote its use). So I thought about changing the english.lproj file. my reasoning being that after the deployment its going back to a default setting. if I change the default setting we should be fine. so I changed the english.lproj file on my image system. tested it out by creating a new user and everything worked, I had a permissions issue (chmod 775 or 755 i cant remember now on the english.lproj file, got the permissions I needed but with a + on the end.. I have no clue what that is), I probably need help with as well, but over all it worked.
So I created the image using SIU and deployed it. but when I logged into the user account all setting were forgotten. I logged in as admin, added a new account and logged into that same thing, all the default settings were forgotten.
so at this point I am kind of stumped. is there some setting in SIU I am missing? any help greatly appreciated.. I should say that I am on a time crunch as well.

hey guys just an update, no progress yet as for some reason now the netinstall process doesnt want to work. I can see the images on the client when I go to choose it from the startup disk option in sys preferences. select it, it restarts and then goes to the blinking globe and hangs there for a while and then goes to the normal os bootup,
on the server, the log just says
BSDP INFORM [en0] 1,0:xx:xx:xx:x:xx NetBoot009 arch=i386 sysid=MacPro3,1

hand no luck shutting the service down, or restarting the server.. trying it again.. going to get a cup of joe and will try again

This upgrade has me pulling out my hair. the device is running very slow and apps wont transfer back into the ipad from my library. anyone else having this issue? what do i do about it? is it possible to roll back the OS? Thanks for any help with this matter. And a curse on whoever came up with this so called upgrade!!

If you are using the original iPad it is possible that this upgrade could slow down the iPad since that model just doesn't have the processor power er and speed of the iPad2 and the new iPad. Unfortunately, you cannot downgrade the iOS - officially.
Have you tried rebooting the iPad? Quitting all apps and restarting?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Make sure that you are signed into the correct account in - Settings>Store>Apple ID for the apps that will not sync. And are you sure that the apps are selected to sync in your iTunes sync preferences?

Settings are gone after restarting computer

After I'm restarting my computer my settings are gone. I'm not sure if all of them, but this is what I need to change:
- all toolbars are enabled (in standard setting I don't have everything on all the time)
- my start pages are not the same
- FF behaviour after restart is not the same
- my default download directory is not as it was before.
What is more - if I'm closing FF and then opening again without restarting my computer - everything is fine. It is just happening after I'm restarting my computer. It is like some settings are removed after restarting ...

What's more - I'm usually putting my computer in stand by or hibernate mode, so it can be caused by that. I'm restarting computer only if needed ...

This just happened to me again. And I do not understand the reply you gave me. I just want all my tabs & groups back. Can you tell me in less technical terms how to fix this?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Toplink broken after EAR deploy

After I deploy or re-deploy an application to OC4J 10.1.3.1, the application produces the following error:
Exception [TOPLINK-6007] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) (Build 061004)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.QueryException Exception Description: Missing descriptor for [class com.htch.aps.tvsaudit.model.Tvsaudit]. Query: ReadAllQuery(com.htch.aps.tvsaudit.model.Tvsaudit)
Tvsaudit is a "model" class in my application.
If I then restart the Instance under which the application is deployed, Toplink works without error. (Restarting only the application does not solve the problem)
Why might Toplink be messed up after the deploy?

The issue is that your descriptors are still referencing the old undeployed classes.
You need to refresh/reload your TopLink session. If you are using the SessionManager you can call,
getSession(<name>, true /*login*/, true /*refresh*/)
to refresh the session.
Or use,
getSession(<loader>, <name>, <app-class-loader>, true /*login*/, false /*refresh*/, true /* refresh if class loader changed */)
to force a refresh on re-deploy in general.
But perhaps best store your TopLink session in a static variable in a class in your application. The first time this session is access load it from the SessionManager with the refresh option. This ensures that on re-deploy you will get the correct session.

Need to reconfigure the VM after vm deployment

I am having a script to deploy a VM from an CSV file . I need to change the vm ( CPU & Memory) configuration after vm deployment. where the name of the vm should be taken from csv.So any help is much appreciated.
Attaching the script used . ( downloaded and works fine)

Problem "A serious error..." after msi deployment (8.0 on Vista)

Environment is Windows Vista Business with UAC enabled in a Win2003 policy controlled network.
Files used:
acropro.msi provided on the Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional volume licence CD.
acropro.mst created with Adobe Customization Wizard 8.
Command executed:
msiexec /i \\mynetwork\...\acropro.msi transforms=\\mynetwork\...\acropro.mst
Situation:
After successful deployment of Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, when Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional is run, after about 5 seconds I get the message saying: "A serious error has been detected and Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot continue. Please reinstall the application and try again".
After searching google, this seems related to the activation service unable to contact a licence server.
Our volume licence CD is supposed to be pre activated. In fact, after manually running setup.exe on the same CD, everything works. And no activation is necessary. But not so using the msi.
My question:
I want to deploy Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro using only the msi. Anyone has a idea?

Our problem was partly solved by ordering another CD with ALM (Auto License Management) disabled from Adobe. See the reference.

Then Acrobat 8.0 installs Ok under an Admin account. The Acrobat 8.1 patch renders the software useable with non admin credentials.

nvidia-settings --load-config-only (this dont work for i want load the settings when i start my session)
nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2 (For Firefox , i dont know if this works or not)

What DE are you using? (if any) I have a similar problem since the last Gnome 3.12, doesn't matter where I put the command "nvidia-settings --load-config-only" it just doesn't work. I have to either open the GUI or issue the command on the terminal for it to happen, I tried with ~/.config/autostart/ /etc/xdg/autostart/ with a .xprofile file, a .xinitrc, nothing works, I can't tell from where this problem originates. Other programs start just fine with the mentioned methods, then it must be something wrong with the way nvidia is invoked I guessing, a couple of months ago was working flawlessly.

lately when sikrnizing the added tunes wont show up on my ipod......never had a problem before I upgraded to itunes 11.....can anyone give me some ideas

Do the problem songs play in iTunes on the computer?
Is Settings>iTunes and App Store signed into the account that purchased them?
Can yo redownlod them directly to the iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Do they show up in the Purchased list?
Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing/loading those songs?

Videos wont transfer after update

Couple days ago i installed the ipod update and also the itunes update and since then ive not been able to transfer videos onto the ipod which was being played last week keep getting error '<video name> were not copied to the ipod, because they cannot be played on this ipod'
dont understand why a video that would play last week wont transfer this week after the update, this dont happen on all videos either, even thou ive converted them with the same software with same settings.
anyone else come across this problem.

I am having EXACTLY the same problem as you are. I to had updated my software and used the same program as you did and the video doesn't transfer. I tried downloading that sample movie that Apple supplied to test and see if it would transfer but iTunes doesn't even add it to my library, and Quicktime won't even recognize that sample file as compatible format even though iTunes and Quicktime are the latest version. This is so frustrating.
