Settings for Broadcasting

Dear all,
Can anyone figure me out. How to create a broadcasting setting (i.e.., sending mail ) through process chains once the infoprovider got filled.
I know there is a option to trigger it out from broadcast settings; but here i cant able to view that option.
What might be the Problem. only option i can able to view is direct scheduling.
All i wanna do is to send mails across my users;once the infoprovider got filled.

Hi,
Check the following thread.
broadcasting through process chains
I hope it will help.
Thanks,

  • Best FC settings for broadcast?

    Hello everyone,
    I am relatively new at this, and I am looking for a better workflow and FC/compressor/ settings for our productions, and to solve a sound issue.
    We use a set of Panasonic AG-HMC150P to capture external videos, so the footage is in HD (imported through ProRes)... sometimes we use our older Panasonic DVXs connected to a Tricaster to produce on-location multi-camera programs, and finally we record our studio programs on DV mini-tapes and/or recorded DVDs.
    We need to produce each program in two formats: DVDs, and Mpeg-2 muxed to feed our video server (Cablecast), which in turns feeds a fiber-optic transmitter to the cable company.
    At present what we do is import everything into a preset NTSC DV (3:2) 720x480 sequence (QuickTime Video Settings Compressor set at DV/DVPRO - NTSC) with 48 kHz- 16-bit audio. Then we basically send the finished product to compressor and export it to a standard best-quality 90-min DVD. We use that for our DVD copies of the program. Then what we do is grab the .ac3 and .m2v files created by compressor, and feed them to MPEG-Streamclip, exporting them as an Mpeg with MP2 audio stream; which creates the mpeg-2 file for our cablecast server.
    So the first question is this: is there a better/efficient sequence setting or workflow we should use? Should we use one sequence setting for DVD production and then copy the content onto a different sequence with different settings for broadcast/mpeg-2 encoding?
    The quality of the mpeg file (when played from the server onto our monitor) is quite good, although I am noticing a loss of quality when I watch the program on TV at home (some visual artifacts and occasional pixellations), but my main problem is sound crackling when the program displays lower thirds (occasionally), more pronounced when PPT files converted to jpeg graphics are displayed in the program. I am VERY careful to keep white levels below 90 IRE (or whatever the scopes indicate as being 90%) and apply broadcast safe filters (chroma and brightness). I keep my average sound level at about -12 dBFS with peaks not exceeding -6 dBFS (sound is compressed in SoundPro).
    Any idea what might be causing the crackling? Thank you for any help you can provide...

    I found the custom settings that I'd made from the DVD Best 90 minute preset and pasted them below.  I made these based on a screen shot that my client provided of an MPEG Streamslip settings window.
    Stefan, you should be able to start from any of the DVD presets in the Settings window.  Then click "Duplicate Selected Setting" (just below the Settins tab, 3rd button over) to add a copy to the "Custom" settings folder.  Select the copy, make changes in the Inspector window and then click "Save" (at the bottom right of the Inspector window).
    My settings were for PAL, but the same settings should apply to NTSC minus frame rate and frame size differences.  The key changes that I made were the number of encoding passes (I changed 2-pass to 1-pass) and the bit rate (the average bit rate and the maximum bit rate were increased).  Also, I was encoding from DV source which has the same picture dimensions at its MPEG2 counterpart so there was no need to change the width and height.
    After you've made your custom preset, encode a short test file and send it to the broadcaster to see if it's compliant with what they can broadcast before committing an entire program to it.

  • What is the best way to export a video for broadcast using FCE?  H264?

    I need to get the best quality HD video for broadcast using final cut express and I need to know all info and settings please?

    Hello,
    You need to find out from the broadcaster what specs they require you to meet.  H.264 is probably not it.

  • Colour safe for broadcast help...

    Hi all....
    Right, not too sure about this one....
    Having taught myself coulor corrections, luminance and Gammas etc.... I am now being carefull at my colour levels throughout my sequences, I am left with an issue.
    My sequence is done and I am about to apply a broadcast safe filter throughout the sequence to keep my levels below 100% brightness.
    But for broadcast I understand that I also need to keep my RGB values below 100%.
    I understand that the way to check that those are below 100% is to check the vectorscope.
    But that means going through everyframe of the sequence.
    Broadcast safe doesn't seem to affect colour? or am I wrong?
    Does it just modify the luminance?
    Whats the best way to check the coulor levels?
    Anyone?
    THanks in advance
    Steph

    But that means going through everyframe of the sequence
    yes it does ... welcome to our world
    Broadcast safe doesn't seem to affect colour? or am I wrong?
    Does it just modify the luminance?
    the Broadcast Safe filter does indeed affect the color ... it is just far more forgiving, at its default setting, than perhaps you were expecting. if you try some of the other settings "ultra super duper conservative" etc you might see more appreciably that it is in fact working.
    Whats the best way to check the coulor levels?
    Use your scopes as you go through the sequence.
    Plus, go to View menu > Range Check... > Excess Chroma - make sure it is checked - then scrub through your edit and see if you get any warning flags come up in the canvas.

  • Settings for Television

    What is the best preset to use in Premier 5.5 for converting TV commercials in HD for broadcast?  Is it H.264 HDTV? Also, if I am editing using various files such as RED, DVCPRO and other HD files which initial project settings should I use?  This is with the end use to be for broadcast HD TV commercials.

    Your broadcaster will have a published spec and requirements sheet with all the info required for deliverables.
    Broadcaster specs vary from one to the other.
    As Jim said match your footage to your edit sequence.....to which I would add..the lowest common denominator ( rez) of your source footages.

  • Settings for 30 second TV spot?

    I have a client that needs a part of a video I produced for his website to be used for a 30 second TV spot.  I have never produced for broadcast and need a little help.  What is the best way to get a TV ready file; straight from FCP or export to Compressor?  What are the proper settings I should use?  Thanks.

    Haven't cut for broadcast TV? Then you need to hire an online editor to do the finishing work.  There are a lot of very technical broadcast specification for both video and audio that need to be met. If you don't know how to meet them, you need to find someone who does. And then find out how to get trained so that you can in the future.

  • Exporting Video B-Roll for Broadcast Use

    Hello:
    What format should I export my b-roll video in from an event? We're distributing it online via a download link but I want this file to be as easy for reporters to use as possible.
    Can someone explain the best process/format to export this in?
    Will Quicktime be best? If so what options do I need to select to keep the file large enough for broadcast use yet compressed enough to send via YouSendIt?

    Thanks. This might be a stupid question but how can I convert the output Quicktime from FCE to a MPG2? Are there any settings I need to check off?

  • Premiere Pro CS6 for Broadcast ProRes HQ Frame rate issues

    I switched from Avid to work on a quick project with DSLR footage shot on the 5D Mark III at 29.97 psf which is not to be confused with 29.97i, a standard frame rate necessary for broadcast.   So the commercial spot was cut together, I punched in the proper settings (the very same settings that work with Avid 6.0+ and Final Cut Pro 7), and hit export.  When exporting either a Quicktime Animation or Pro Res file from Premiere Pro CS6, premiere creates a file with a faulty framerate, it comes out as 28.4 instead of 29.97.  I thought I was going crazy, but no, there are tons of documented experiences with 23.94 being 20-something, and on an on.  It seems as if Adobe did not do a good enough job with integrating the Pro Res codec into their software.  The only way I could get around it was to export to something else (Blu-ray H.264 at 29.97), and then re-encode that file to Pro Res HQ with either compressor or adobe media encoder.   The problem lies in exporting progressive footage as interlaced, it just completely screws up the frame rate.    The worst bit is that, I need Pro Res HQ for the distribution house for the commercial spots, they require the ProRes HQ MOV at 29.97i and if anything is off, I get charged for it.
    Does anyone else have problems with Adobe Premiere lacking on the professional end? Or similar experience with this problem?
    Just do a search for pro res frame rate issue premiere and you will see a lot of other users with the same issue.

  • T-code for broadcasting

    Hello!
    Does anyone know the t-code to create a broadcast setting?  I would like to create a broadcast through the SAP GUI back-end rather than running it through the portal.  Is there a t-code to do that?
    Thanks!
    Andrew

    Hi,
    There is no direct T-Code for creating a broadcast setting. You can create a broadcast setting from SAP Gui by running the query in RSRT. Here is the detailed steps,
    1) Goto RSRT
    2) Select the query you want to execute.
    3) Select the Query Display Option as HTML.
    4) execute the query.
    5) In the next screen, Click on the tab that says Information broadcasting.
    6) Click the button that says Create a New Setting.
    7) Provide the prerequisite details here.
    Thus one setting is created for this particular query result broadcasting. You can create N number of settings for one query, though I dont know how many exactly.
    To view all the settings that are created in your system - use the transaction RSRD_ADMIN, Click on Settings, replace the user field on this screen with ' * ' and execute.
    Let us know in case of any further questions.
    regards,
    Sree.

  • I think I need help with driver (software) settings for D110a

    I think I need help with driver (software) settings for D110a all-in-one
    Product: D110a all-in-one
    OS: Windows XP Professional
    Error messages: None
    Changes before problem appeared: None--new installation
    The quality of photo images (mostly JPG files) in printouts is awful even though the files display beautifully on the PC screen. I am using
    IrfanView software for displaying/printing. As far as I can tell, IrfanView is not the problem.
    When I print the same images on a Deskjet 5150 attached to a different PC also running XP Pro and IrfanView, the quality of the printouts is at
    least acceptable, Some would probably say good or very good.
    It's dificult to explain in words the problem with the printouts. A picture of really pretty vegetables (squashes, tomatoes, watermelon, etc) comes
    out much too red. Moreover, the red, which appears shaded on the screen, seems to be all one shade in the D110a printouts.
    Something similar happens to a view of a huge tree in full leaf. On screen, there are subtle variations in the "greenness" of the leaves. In the
    printout, all green is the same shade. In the same printout, the trunk of the tree is all a single shade of grey. It isn;t even obvious that the
    trunk is a round, solid object.
    I liken the effect to audio that disappears entirely when you lower the volume and gets clipped into square waves in even moderately loud passages.
    I don't know whether the D110a driver software permits adjusting the parameters that appear to be set incorrectly, and if adjustments are possible,
    how I would identify which parameters to adjust, how I would access them, or how I would adjust them. I'm hoping that someone can help. Thanks.
    I forgot to mention that I have used the diagnostic application and it tells me that there are no problems.

    Hi everyone,
    I noticed the following message when network starts on my gateway
    Warning: This functionality is deprecated.
    Please refer to /etc/rc.conf on how to define a single wired
    connection, or use a utility such as netcfg.
    Then I realized the way network settings should be written in rc.conf has changed. But I can't figure out how this should be done.
    Currently, my set up is the following (old way):
    INTERFACES=(eth0 eth1)
    eth0="dhcp"
    eth1="eth1 192.168.0.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255"
    ROUTES=(!gateway)
    eth0 is on DHCP because the IP is dynamically assigned my ISP.
    eth1 has a fix IP because it's on the LAN side.
    No problem to use DHCP on eth0 with the new settings.
    But for eth1, I don't know what I am supposed to write for gateway.
    Wiki isn't clear on that one either, and it looks like many articles still refer to the old way.
    Any guidance appreciated, thanks.
    brazzmonkey,
    you can't define 2 interfaces the old way (even though I saw some tricky workaround somewhere in the forums).
    Use, f.e., netcfg:
    Comment your old lines.
    In /etc/rc.conf insert:
    NETWORKS=(Eth0-dhcp Eth1-static)
    DAEMONS=(..... !network @net-profiles ....)
    In /etc/network.d create 2 files:
    First one is named  Eth0-dhcp.
    Contents:
    CONNECTION="ethernet"
    DESCRIPTION="Whatever text"
    INTERFACE=eth0
    HOSTNAME="your hostname"
    IP="dhcp"
    DHCP_TIMEOUT=15
    Second one is named Eth1-static.
    Contents:
    CONNECTION='ethernet'
    DESCRIPTION='whatver'
    INTERFACE='eth1'
    HOSTNAME='hname'
    IP='static'
    ADDR='192.168.0.10'
    GATEWAY='192.168.0.1' # your gateway IP
    DNS=('192.168.0.1') # your DNS server
    The names Eth0-dhcp and Eth1-static are not magic. They just must be the same in rc.conf and in /etc/network.d.
    Hope it helps.
    mektub
    PS: netcfg must be installed.

  • Export settings for HD TV commercial

    Hi folks,
    Major novice here so please bear with me.
    I've cut a 30-second spot for my company and need to submit it to the station that will air it. They have provided the following instructions and I'm trying to make sure I get this formatted and encoded properly for broadcast. A lot of this technical talk is new to me. Can anyone help?
    HD Requirements:
    1080i 59.94 fps / Stereo*
    DG FastChannel (HD Code GOLFH-CN) or
    Sony HDCAM  or Sony XDCAM tape (no HDCAM-SR)*
    Aspect ratio (16:9) no postage stamp (center-cut protected)
    *TGC will accept discreet stereo or dual mono audio L&R…TGC cannot accept Dolby E, mini tapes or anamorphic spots at this time.
    I set the project properties to 1080i / 1920 x 1080 / 29.97i  (I see no option in FCPX for 59.94 -- I hope this is just the same as 29.97i) / stereo / 48kHz / Apple ProRes 422.
    I'm not sure if there are other settings I need to apply nor what options to select at export -- e.g. there are video codecs that say things like "XDCAM"...
    I plan on ultimately delivering this file electronically or on DVD... i.e. no tape.
    Thanks!

    When you say you hope to deliver by DVD; I hope you realize that DVD VIDEO is a standard def. format, and does not seem suitable for your needs.
    However, if you are talking about using a DVD disc for data  delivery, then you can ignore this particular post...
